An Unhinged James Charles Deepdive

  • 0:00 - 0:03
James Charles, a name so chilling
  • 0:03 - 0:05
that it requires a trigger warning.
  • 0:06 - 0:07
    Trigger warning: James Charles.
  • 0:08 - 0:11
You can say a lot of things about
    James Charles.
  • 0:11 - 0:12
    Most of them are bad.
  • 0:12 - 0:13
    Like, really bad.
  • 0:14 - 0:17
But objectively, he is one of the most
    well-known
  • 0:17 - 0:20
influencers from the last 10 years.
  • 0:20 - 0:22
And because of how much exposure
  • 0:23 - 0:25
    and business success he saw
    over the years,
  • 0:26 - 0:30
James Charles is truly somebody who
    could have had it all
  • 0:31 - 0:34
if only he wasn't a piece of shit.
  • 0:34 - 0:38
If you're watching this video, odds are
    you've heard of James,
  • 0:38 - 0:41
or you've at least heard of his infamy.
  • 0:41 - 0:43
You may have had the petrifying
    experience
  • 0:43 - 0:46
of seeing his BBL or hearing him say
  • 0:47 - 0:47
    "Hi sisters!"
  • 0:49 - 0:52
    This guy's digital footprint has
    some of the funniest
  • 0:53 - 0:56
and grossest shit I have ever seen.
  • 0:56 - 1:00
Because as we'll get into, he is a massive
    creepo, freako,
  • 1:00 - 1:01
    womp womp.
  • 1:02 - 1:04
    It is quite a tale.
  • 1:04 - 1:08
So allow me to take you on an Unhinged
    James Charles Deepdive.
  • 1:19 - 1:23
    James Charles (or James Charles
    Dickinson)
  • 1:23 - 1:28
was born on May 3rd, 1999 in Bethlehem,
    New York.
  • 1:28 - 1:31
And he is Emily Dickinson's third cousin
    twice removed -
  • 1:32 - 1:34
ignore that, it was a lie, I just lied.
  • 1:34 - 1:37
In 2010, at the age of 11, he started his
  • 1:37 - 1:40
    very first YouTube channel called
    JaysCoding.
  • 1:41 - 1:45
This channel mostly consisted of him
    covering songs like
  • 1:45 - 1:46
    "Pumped Up Kicks".
  • 1:46 - 1:50
♫ "You better run, better run
    faster than my bullet." ♫
  • 1:50 - 1:52
"Before He Cheats" by Carrie Underwood.
  • 1:52 - 1:55
    ♫ "Carved my name
    into his leather seats." ♫
  • 1:56 - 1:59
    But most notably, this
    "It Will Rain" cover
  • 1:59 - 2:00
where he's wearing this wolf hat.
  • 2:00 - 2:03
    ♫ "- morphine at my door." ♫
  • 2:03 - 2:06
And although these childhood videos are
    wholesome,
  • 2:06 - 2:08
    this would be the start
    of a very troubling
  • 2:08 - 2:11
    pattern of him
    singing unprompted.
  • 2:11 - 2:17
    Although my personal favorite video
    that I found on JaysCoding
  • 2:17 - 2:21
was this six-second upload of just
    a image of an eye.
  • 2:21 - 2:24
    Like, bro really uploaded an
    image to YouTube,
  • 2:24 - 2:26
and that is so of the time.
  • 2:27 - 2:31
But in 2015, he would launch his second
    and main channel
  • 2:31 - 2:33
that we know today as James Charles.
  • 2:34 - 2:37
And this is where he started uploading
    makeup tutorials, such as
  • 2:37 - 2:43
    serpent makeup tutorial and
    Snapchat Galaxy makeup tutorial.
  • 2:43 - 2:48
And as you can see, none of these look
    particularly good.
  • 2:48 - 2:51
    In fact, they're pretty bad,
    but I assure you
  • 2:51 - 2:55
    everyone's makeup looked
    really bad in 2015,
  • 2:55 - 2:57
so that really means nothing I guess.
  • 2:57 - 3:01
But he was gaining a really decent
    audience from posting these tutorials.
  • 3:02 - 3:06
    But the inciting incident, the
    catalyst that would launch
  • 3:06 - 3:11
    James Charles' career, happened in
    September of 2016.
  • 3:12 - 3:18
And this moment would have irreversible
repercussions on society and the Internet.
  • 3:18 - 3:20
James was 17 years old at this point,
  • 3:21 - 3:23
and he had just taken his senior photos,
  • 3:24 - 3:26
which came out fugly according to him.
  • 3:26 - 3:30
And so he hired the school
    photographer to come back
  • 3:30 - 3:33
and let him retake the pictures
    with his ring light.
  • 3:33 - 3:37
And as you can see here, his highlight is
    definitely going off,
  • 3:38 - 3:41
    his brows have a good
    Roblox look to them.
  • 3:41 - 3:45
However, where I draw the line is
    that man bun.
  • 3:45 - 3:46
    What the f**k?
  • 3:47 - 3:49
    Anyways, his friend convinces
    him to post these
  • 3:49 - 3:55
    new glamorous pictures online
    and they go extremely viral.
  • 3:55 - 3:58
    Like, this picture of James
    was being shared
  • 3:58 - 4:02
so much that CoverGirl noticed it.
  • 4:02 - 4:06
And that is how he became the world's
    first male CoverGirl.
  • 4:06 - 4:12
Now because this was 2016, it stirred
    controversy amongst conservatives.
  • 4:12 - 4:13
And, you know, of course it did
  • 4:14 - 4:17
    because it's CoverGirl, not "CoverDong".
  • 4:17 - 4:20
    Seriously, though, I found this
    old Twitter thread
  • 4:20 - 4:23
where people are just bitching about this
    like there's no tomorrow.
  • 4:24 - 4:26
A great example is this one:
  • 4:26 - 4:32
    reads tweet.
  • 4:37 - 4:39
    There's also this one where
    a woman compares
  • 4:39 - 4:44
James being on CoverGirl to a white
    person doing blackface.
  • 4:44 - 4:47
    Um... Nurse, she's out again!
  • 4:47 - 4:50
Anyways, outisde of these randos making
    a stink out of it,
  • 4:51 - 4:53
this opened up a lot of opportunities
  • 4:53 - 4:54
    for James.
  • 4:54 - 4:58
I mean, he went on Ellen, I guess that's
    not that impressive, though.
  • 4:58 - 5:03
As I mentioned in the Jojo Siwa video, you
could literally fart into a bucket
  • 5:03 - 5:06
and somehow make it on Ellen at this
    point in time.
  • 5:06 - 5:08
And as his fame was escalating,
  • 5:09 - 5:11
he did his first-ever fan meet.
  • 5:11 - 5:14
Only 50 people showed up to this event,
  • 5:14 - 5:17
and one of the videos that was taken there
  • 5:17 - 5:19
was turned into a meme because at
  • 5:19 - 5:25
some point James just sat down on the
    ground and started singing.
  • 5:25 - 5:33
♫ Bring me a little water now!
    Bring me little water, Sylvie!♫
  • 5:33 - 5:37
I don't know what my favorite part about
this meme is. It might be
  • 5:37 - 5:40
the Snapchat caption that says "f**k it up"
  • 5:40 - 5:43
which insinuates that he's doing a good
    job singing right now.
  • 5:43 - 5:45
Or it could be the fact that he raises
  • 5:46 - 5:49
his finger up as if he's hitting those
    high notes.
  • 5:49 - 5:51
This was, of course, the very first time
  • 5:51 - 5:53
that he was turned into a meme,
  • 5:53 - 5:56
but it's certainly would not be the last.
  • 5:56 - 6:01
This same year, James did a CoverGirl
    promotion with Zendaya,
  • 6:01 - 6:04
and oh my God, this has gotta be
  • 6:04 - 6:08
one of the most unintentionally funny
    videos I've ever seen.
  • 6:08 - 6:13
So this video that they're doing is a
    challenge to see what makeup
  • 6:13 - 6:16
looks they could come up with in the
    span of 5 minutes.
  • 6:17 - 6:20
And so they're both in a rush and trying
    to showcase these CoverGirl
  • 6:21 - 6:22
    products along the way.
  • 6:23 - 6:23
And about 30 seconds in, James gets
    befuddled and just starts
  • 6:23 - 6:30
copying Zendaya and then acts like
  • 6:31 - 6:33
everything he's doing was his idea.
  • 6:33 - 6:34
    - "I used it on my inner corner."
    - "Same."
  • 6:35 - 6:36
    (Huh??)
  • 6:37 - 6:37
    - "I used this as a base for the blue."
    - "Yeah, same."
  • 6:37 - 6:41
    And not only this,
the end result is so bad,
  • 6:42 - 6:45
she absolutely ate him up, I can't
    believe this video exists.
  • 6:45 - 6:48
These two people should not exist in the
    same universe.
  • 6:48 - 6:51
James would soon also start doing collabs
  • 6:51 - 6:56
with massive YouTubers like Tana Mongeau,
    Joey Graceffa, and even
  • 6:57 - 6:59
    non-YouTubers like Maddie Ziegler.
  • 6:59 - 7:01
However, he would soon find himself in his
  • 7:01 - 7:06
very first controversy, and that is the
    "Ebola" tweet.
  • 7:07 - 7:10
On Febuary 16, 2017, James writes:
  • 7:10 - 7:19
    reads tweet.
  • 7:19 - 7:21
So obviously this is very out of touch
  • 7:22 - 7:27
and just kind of assumes that Africa is
    like a diseased-riddled area,
  • 7:28 - 7:30
and so people were not happy about this.
  • 7:30 - 7:35
And so the very same day he
did his first public apology ever.
  • 7:35 - 7:36
    He wrote:
  • 7:36 - 7:44
    reads tweet.
  • 7:44 - 7:49
And people definitely still thought James
was racist for, like, a good month
  • 7:49 - 7:50
    after this.
  • 7:50 - 7:53
    But the discourse got completely
    overshadowed by the events of
  • 7:53 - 8:00
March 5th, 2017, which was the birth of
    Flashback Mary.
  • 8:00 - 8:02
    So what happened was that
    James was at an event
  • 8:02 - 8:06
and he had WAY too much
    powder on his face,
  • 8:06 - 8:11
and so when they took this picture of him,
it caused a flashback that gave him this,
  • 8:11 - 8:16
    like, ghostly, ghoulish, sinister
    SCP look to him.
  • 8:16 - 8:19
    And the internet was immediately
    obsessed with this.
  • 8:19 - 8:23
Like, this is definitely one of the
biggest memes that has hit the Internet.
  • 8:23 - 8:26
    Ask anyone, ask your grandma,
    ask your
  • 8:26 - 8:30
    local pastor, they know
    Flashback Mary.
  • 8:31 - 8:35
The main comparison that was being made
to James was of this spider from-
  • 8:35 - 8:36
    what is this show called?
  • 8:36 - 8:39
    It's called Miss Spider's
    Sunny Patch Friends.
  • 8:39 - 8:41
Like, I can't express to you
    how many times
  • 8:42 - 8:44
I've seen this image against my will,
  • 8:44 - 8:47
I wish I could permaban it from my brain.
  • 8:47 - 8:50
    Something a little disappointing about
this meme, though, is that the
  • 8:50 - 8:54
    widespread image of Flashback
Mary is not the real one.
  • 8:54 - 8:59
This is the real one, and I will say, the
    flashback is still really bad,
  • 9:00 - 9:04
    but whoever edited this picture
just made it 70 times worse.
  • 9:04 - 9:08
An interesting artifact of the time that I
    found was this Redbubble page
  • 9:09 - 9:16
that just exclusively sells Flashback Mary
furniture, such as clocks and pillows.
  • 9:16 - 9:19
    I really don't understand Redbubble,
    people will just sell
  • 9:19 - 9:22
    tych-fck-ehchk-ANYTHING there.
  • 9:22 - 9:26
    Anyways, though, speaking of James
    Charles' foundation, he does not
  • 9:27 - 9:29
know how to match that shit.
  • 9:29 - 9:33
    Like, there's entire compilations
    of him doing just that.
  • 9:33 - 9:37
And in this video specifically, he
    describes himself as having
  • 9:37 - 9:39
    warm undertones.
  • 9:40 - 9:41
"GASP. That looks like it could be
such a good match for me,
  • 9:41 - 9:44
everyone is convinced that my skintone
    is, like, not warm."
  • 9:44 - 9:46
Girl, you are PINK! You are PINK!
  • 9:47 - 9:49
I think the funniest part about all
of this, though, is that he
  • 9:50 - 9:55
literally has a YouTube video trying,
like, 40 different foundation shades, and
  • 9:55 - 9:59
in the end he still chooses the wrong one.
  • 9:59 - 10:04
    Side note, though, another James
Charles-ism is that he chronically misuses
  • 10:05 - 10:17
    Facetune, especially in this era.
  • 10:18 - 10:19
And to be fair, he's never hid that he
uses Facetune, but it just looks so bad
  • 10:20 - 10:22
that I don't understand why he continues
to do it. Like, when I see these pictures,
  • 10:22 - 10:23
    I get uncanny valley, Russian
    Sleep Experiment, creepypasta vibes.
  • 10:27 - 10:30
Moving on, though, we have the "It"
    debacle of 2017.
  • 10:31 - 10:36
Now, the It debacle began on September
    7th when James tweeted about
  • 10:37 - 10:41
how he was gonna go see It, and
how excited he was about it.
  • 10:41 - 10:45
But literally five minutes into the movie,
he started tweeting about how bad
  • 10:45 - 10:48
it was, which, of course, is just nutty
  • 10:48 - 10:50
    because how have you already
    decided that
  • 10:50 - 10:53
you don't like the movie, and it's only
    been five minutes?
  • 10:53 - 10:56
And, like, why are you even on your phone?
  • 10:56 - 10:59
    About thirty minutes later,
    James tweets again,
  • 10:59 - 11:00
    and this time, he says:
  • 11:00 - 11:11
    reading tweet.
  • 11:11 - 11:15
Both of these tweets annoyed people for
    obvious reasons.
  • 11:15 - 11:19
Like, he's just been texting the entire
    movie.
  • 11:19 - 11:23
It doesn't even sound like he's been
watching it to know if it's bad!
  • 11:23 - 11:28
And so in response to all the people
    questioning why he's doing this,
  • 11:28 - 11:29
    he writes:
  • 11:29 - 11:36
    reads tweet.
  • 11:36 - 11:37
    But then,
  • 11:37 - 11:41
Finn Wolfhard replies to one of these
    tweets and says:
  • 11:41 - 11:45
    reads tweet
  • 11:45 - 11:50
Granted, at this time, I think Finn was
    12 or 13 maybe.
  • 11:50 - 11:51
    And so James tweets:
  • 11:51 - 11:55
    reads tweet.
  • 11:55 - 11:59
Which sounds like he's accepting the
    end of this.
  • 11:59 - 12:02
Like, this should be the end of the
    conversation.
  • 12:02 - 12:07
But instead, he starts backtracking times
    3,000, and he says:
  • 12:08 - 12:16
    reads tweet.
  • 12:16 - 12:20
For the next few hours, people on
Twitter would not leave him alone
  • 12:20 - 12:22
about why he was texting in the
    movie theater.
  • 12:23 - 12:24
    And so he eventually says:
  • 12:24 - 12:31
    reads tweet.
  • 12:31 - 12:34
And this dug his grave in even more.
  • 12:34 - 12:38
Because people were like, "What do you
    mean 'everyone does it,'
  • 12:38 - 12:40
like, everyone does not do that!"
  • 12:40 - 12:45
Personally, as an AMC Stubs member,
    this pains me.
  • 12:46 - 12:48
Follow me on Letterboxd so I can
    feel important.
  • 12:48 - 12:53
But this caused people to start doing
polls about whether or not people
  • 12:53 - 12:55
    actually texted people during movies.
  • 12:56 - 13:00
And the results were, of course,
    overwhelmingly NO.
  • 13:01 - 13:02
    No they do not!
  • 13:02 - 13:06
And again, this should've been the end of
the conversation, but he just keeps
  • 13:06 - 13:11
acknowledging it, and he ends up filming
an apology video in the backseat
  • 13:11 - 13:12
    of an Uber.
  • 13:13 - 13:15
(James talking:) "I want to personally
apologize to Finn and anybody else
  • 13:15 - 13:17
involved in the making of the movie It."
  • 13:17 - 13:21
And regardless of all of this, a couple
days later, he ended up doing an
  • 13:22 - 13:23
    It makeup tutorial.
  • 13:23 - 13:25
    (James doing a Pennywise voice:)
    "Hiya, sisters! James Charles
  • 13:26 - 13:27
here, and welcome back to my
    YouTube channel!"
  • 13:27 - 13:30
Which, by the way, the first six
    seconds of this video
  • 13:30 - 13:35
changed my life for the worse, so I'm
gonna make you see this too.
  • 13:35 - 13:38
    (dubstep, intense music)
  • 13:38 - 13:39
    (scream sound effect)
  • 13:39 - 13:41
In 2018, the "Sister Squad formed
  • 13:42 - 13:44
And this was basically just of long
  • 13:44 - 13:47
squad of these four best friends that
  • 13:47 - 13:49
consisted of... I mentioned Ethan Dolan,
  • 13:50 - 13:52
    Grayson Dolan, and of course
  • 13:52 - 13:56
James himself. Now Eathan Dolan / Grayson
  • 13:56 - 13:59
had a huge Youtube channel that they
  • 13:59 - 14:02
have been making videos on since 2014
  • 14:02 - 14:04
And James ended up meeting them in late
  • 14:05 - 14:08
2017 after he left he left a bunch of very
  • 14:08 - 14:11
Questionably, thirsty Tweets on both of
  • 14:11 - 14:13
    Their Instagrams. These includes comments
  • 14:13 - 14:15
Such as "Run me over with that
  • 14:15 - 14:17
Motorcycle, daddy". "Choke me with that
  • 14:18 - 14:19
    Seatbelt, daddy".
  • 14:19 - 14:21
And last but not least, " Hit me with that
  • 14:22 - 14:22
    Stick, daddy".
  • 14:23 - 14:27
On June 9, 2018, the first ever "Sister
  • 14:27 - 14:29
Squad" video was posted and this
  • 14:29 - 14:32
Had a cultural impact like no other
  • 14:32 - 14:34
Squad at the time. I don't care what
  • 14:35 - 14:36
Anyone says. This is the truth.
  • 14:37 - 14:38
The "Sister Squad" was such an
  • 14:38 - 14:40
Immediate success and all their videos
  • 14:41 - 14:43
Were pretty much just them hanging out.
  • 14:43 - 14:46
Each one of the "Sister Squad" videos got
  • 14:46 - 14:49
Around 30 million views a piece.
  • 14:49 - 14:51
And so, they say that people were
  • 14:51 - 14:52
    invested.
  • 14:52 - 14:53
    In this friend's group dynamic
  • 14:54 - 14:57
    'It would be an understatement.
  • 14:57 - 15:00
The most notable dynamics was that of.
  • 15:01 - 15:03
Emma and Grayson because it was heavily
  • 15:04 - 15:08
theorized that they secretly dating while
  • 15:08 - 15:10
    fans were constantly speculating them.,
  • 15:10 - 15:13
    making entire compilations of their
  • 15:14 - 15:16
    interactions. And secondly was the
  • 15:16 - 15:19
    dynamic between James and Grayson.
  • 15:19 - 15:21
It was pretty much an open secret that
  • 15:21 - 15:23
James had a crush on Grayson and there's
  • 15:23 - 15:27
    entire compilations of him unsuccessfully
  • 15:28 - 15:29
    flirting with him. And there's
  • 15:29 - 15:30
definitely some of the incidents were
  • 15:31 - 15:33
preplanned as a joke, but there's
  • 15:34 - 15:36
also many that were pretty much very raw.
  • 15:37 - 15:40
Very real like you can feel the rejection
  • 15:40 - 15:42
    in the air like groaning
  • 15:42 - 15:45
this is very important to remember when
  • 15:45 - 15:48
we get to bisister, so just keep this is
  • 15:48 - 15:51
in mind that this group being able to
  • 15:51 - 15:53
make millions and millions of views per
  • 15:53 - 15:55
video and despite the way they seem so
  • 15:56 - 15:58
close in these videos. These two things
  • 15:59 - 16:01
have appeared to cause some turmoil
  • 16:01 - 16:04
because by February 4th, 2019, Emma
  • 16:05 - 16:07
unfollowed all of them and to be fair,
  • 16:08 - 16:11
she did unfollow everyone but like six
  • 16:11 - 16:14
people and posted on her story that she
  • 16:14 - 16:17
had done that for a social media purge.
  • 16:17 - 16:19
But to be honest, it doesn't really make
  • 16:19 - 16:21
sense because if you are doing a social
  • 16:21 - 16:23
media purge I think you still follow your
  • 16:24 - 16:27
closest friends and just not anyone else.
  • 16:27 - 16:30
So it kinda seemed like a convenient, uh,
  • 16:30 - 16:33
excuse. And James Charles's response to
  • 16:33 - 16:36
this was this tweet, "I posted a beautiful
  • 16:36 - 16:38
makeup look today but you wouldn't know"
  • 16:38 - 16:41
In November of 2018, James released his
  • 16:42 - 16:44
first ever makeup pallet. And this, of
  • 16:44 - 16:46
course, was James X Morphe. Now, let me
  • 16:47 - 16:49
tell you, this pallet was extremely
  • 16:50 - 16:53
popular at the time. Everyone that I
  • 16:53 - 16:56
knew had this, I had this, and it was just
  • 16:56 - 16:59
generally really well recieved. So this
  • 16:59 - 17:02
    new level of entrepreneurship really
  • 17:02 - 17:06
brought him up a threshold of passionate
  • 17:06 - 17:09
passionate fans. Like he did an appearance
  • 17:09 - 17:11
at a Morphe store in Birmingham and
  • 17:12 - 17:16
8,000 people showed up to the mall to see
  • 17:16 - 17:19
him and it literally caused gridlock
  • 17:19 - 17:21
outside of the store, like people were
  • 17:21 - 17:24
trapped in their cars. That is how
  • 17:24 - 17:27
popular he was at the time. However, it
  • 17:27 - 17:30
wouldn't be long until James found himself
  • 17:31 - 17:35
in another controversy. Also, oh my god, I
  • 17:35 - 17:37
almost forgot to mention that he was
  • 17:37 - 17:40
singing unprompted in front of this Morphe
  • 17:40 - 17:41
    as well.
  • 17:41 - 17:44
    singing
  • 17:45 - 17:48
The 2019 Sisters Tour. So James was doing
  • 17:48 - 17:51
a tour across the country and the most
  • 17:51 - 17:54
expensive ticket that you could buy to see
  • 17:54 - 17:58
him was $500. Which, a lot of people
  • 17:58 - 18:01
were quick to call a scam. And he received
  • 18:01 - 18:04
a ton of backlash for this. Personally, I
  • 18:04 - 18:06
don't think this was a scam because you
  • 18:06 - 18:09
were going to get what you paid for. Like,
  • 18:09 - 18:10
it says right here what's included with
  • 18:11 - 18:13
this. It says, "Exclusive hangout with
  • 18:13 - 18:16
James Charles and the other Sister VIPS.
  • 18:17 - 18:18
One on one photo with James Charles.
  • 18:19 - 18:22
Exclusive Sisters VIP goodie bag. And
  • 18:22 - 18:25
    exclusive autograph tour laminate. Front
  • 18:25 - 18:28
row seats and early access to merchandise
  • 18:28 - 18:31
vendors". Okay, that last one is crazy.
  • 18:31 - 18:34
Like, if your spending $500, I think you
  • 18:34 - 18:36
should get some free merch. In no way do I
  • 18:36 - 18:39
feel like this is worth $500 and like, in
  • 18:39 - 18:41
my perspective, I would feel like an
  • 18:42 - 18:44
asshole to hide a meet and greet with me
  • 18:45 - 18:48
behind a $500 paywall. However, if you
  • 18:48 - 18:50
really wanted to have all that stuff and
  • 18:51 - 18:54
spend $500, that is your business. James
  • 18:54 - 18:56
did say that he would try to talk to his
  • 18:56 - 18:58
team about lowering the prices, but they
  • 18:59 - 19:01
did remain the same. And in case your
  • 19:01 - 19:04
wondering what the luxury VIP James
  • 19:04 - 19:07
Charles experience was like, there's a
  • 19:07 - 19:10
video on YouTube titled, "I PAID $500
  • 19:10 - 19:13
TO SING WITH JAMES CHARLES" and it's him
  • 19:13 - 19:15
surrounded by a huge group of girls
  • 19:16 - 19:20
singing Listen by Beyonce very poorly.
  • 19:20 - 19:26
    singing
  • 19:26 - 19:29
A genuine perk I see for anyone who went
  • 19:29 - 19:31
on this tour though, was that they got to
  • 19:31 - 19:34
witness the New Rules kick. In real time.
  • 19:35 - 19:38
    video plays
  • 19:38 - 19:40
This became a meme just purely out of
  • 19:40 - 19:43
being the perfect storm. People just found
  • 19:44 - 19:46
out that some tickets to the tour cost
  • 19:46 - 19:49
$500 and then they see this. Poor
  • 19:50 - 19:53
singing and poor dancing. And that third
  • 19:53 - 19:56
    miscellaneous kick, muah.
  • 19:56 - 19:58
Let's take a break to talk about something
  • 19:58 - 20:02
    that definitely isn't overpriced. Today's
  • 20:02 - 20:04
video is sponsored by care/of. You guys,
  • 20:05 - 20:07
I'm so excited that care/of decided to
  • 20:08 - 20:10
partner with me again because I genuinely
  • 20:10 - 20:13
love my vitamin packs. Like, care/of has
  • 20:14 - 20:15
truly made remembering to take your
  • 20:16 - 20:18
    vitamins and incorporating them into
  • 20:18 - 20:21
your wellness routines so convenient. And
  • 20:21 - 20:23
all I had to do to get the vitamins that
  • 20:23 - 20:25
were right for me, was take this little
  • 20:26 - 20:28
online quiz and it basically asks you
  • 20:28 - 20:31
questions about your lifestyle, and about
  • 20:31 - 20:34
your health goals. Then boom. care/of
  • 20:34 - 20:36
    sends you doctor back recommendations
  • 20:37 - 20:39
right to your door in compostable packets.
  • 20:40 - 20:43
So! When I took my quiz, I said that I was
  • 20:44 - 20:46
concerned about my skin health, my eye
  • 20:46 - 20:48
health, and also that I wanted to improve
  • 20:48 - 20:51
my focus. And they ended up recommending
  • 20:51 - 20:53
me Astaxanthin, that's good for your eye
  • 20:54 - 20:56
and skin health. Then I got some Ceramides
  • 20:56 - 20:58
which is of course also good for your
  • 20:58 - 21:00
skin health. I got some Rhodiola which is
  • 21:01 - 21:04
for stress and focus. And honestly I could
  • 21:04 - 21:06
really rave all day about all of these,
  • 21:07 - 21:09
because since I've started taking these,
  • 21:09 - 21:11
I'm hooked and I've never been more
  • 21:11 - 21:14
satisfied with my skin, my hair, and my
  • 21:14 - 21:16
focus. Like, I feel like I'm genuinely
  • 21:17 - 21:18
    getting good results.
  • 21:18 - 21:21
Care/of also has these wonderful powders
  • 21:21 - 21:23
that I love. I love their Collagen,
  • 21:24 - 21:26
seriously. I have tried other collagens
  • 21:27 - 21:30
and I hated them. They wouldn't dissolve
  • 21:30 - 21:32
in my coffee. They had a weird taste.
  • 21:32 - 21:34
And like they would just change the
  • 21:34 - 21:37
consistency of the coffee itself, like
  • 21:37 - 21:39
it was horrible. This is very important
  • 21:39 - 21:40
to me, like you guys don't even get it.
  • 21:41 - 21:43
So if you want to be super stoked, have
  • 21:43 - 21:45
    some personalized vitamins that are
  • 21:45 - 21:47
    researched-backed and reap all
  • 21:48 - 21:50
their benefits, click here to take the
  • 21:50 - 21:53
quiz and use my code NIKKIC for 50% off
  • 21:54 - 21:56
subscription items in your first order.
  • 21:56 - 21:58
Thank you so much Care/Of for sponsoring
  • 21:58 - 22:00
us today. And now, back to the video.
  • 22:00 - 22:03
Welcome back! Now we're entering the calm
  • 22:03 - 22:07
before the storm and what I mean by that
  • 22:07 - 22:11
is that we are on the cusp of dramageddon
  • 22:11 - 22:16
This is literally April 2019 and no one
  • 22:16 - 22:20
had a single clue that the biggest drama
  • 22:20 - 22:23
of the internet would ever see what about
  • 22:23 - 22:26
to occur. Now, let me introduce to the
  • 22:27 - 22:29
    central characters of the dramageddon.
  • 22:29 - 22:32
Ok, so here we have Tati Westbrook. She
  • 22:32 - 22:34
was a beauty guru as well as James'
  • 22:35 - 22:38
mentor and close friend. He even referred
  • 22:38 - 22:41
to her as a mother figure. As you can see
  • 22:41 - 22:43
here, this is James doing Tati's wedding
  • 22:44 - 22:46
makeup like that's how like this was how
  • 22:46 - 22:49
close they were and prior to these
  • 22:49 - 22:51
coming events, Tati had started her own
  • 22:52 - 22:55
supplement company in 2018 called Halo
  • 22:56 - 22:58
Beauty, and they basically sold like hair
  • 22:59 - 23:02
vitamins and skin vitamins, hoopla hoopla.
  • 23:02 - 23:05
Enter Jeffree Star. If you don't know who
  • 23:05 - 23:08
Jeffree Star is, he's probably in the top
  • 23:08 - 23:12
10 worst people on the internet and to
  • 23:12 - 23:15
fully explain why that is that would
  • 23:15 - 23:17
require like a whole three hour video.
  • 23:18 - 23:19
    inaudible
  • 23:19 - 23:21
he has a very successful makeup company
  • 23:22 - 23:23
called "Jeffree Star Cosmetics" and his
  • 23:24 - 23:26
channel at this time was massive in the
  • 23:27 - 23:29
    beauty community. However, not
  • 23:29 - 23:32
as massive as James' and side note,
  • 23:32 - 23:36
in 2024 he lives on a farm and sells yak
  • 23:36 - 23:38
meat. So, there's that. Our last big
  • 23:38 - 23:42
    dramageddon figure is Shane Dodsen.
  • 23:42 - 23:46
Shane is probably also on that top 10 list
  • 23:46 - 23:48
of worse people online. Come to think of
  • 23:48 - 23:51
it, James is too, but we will cross that
  • 23:51 - 23:53
bridge when we get there. What is
  • 23:53 - 23:55
important to know now though, is that in
  • 23:55 - 23:59
landscape of 2019 YouTube, for some reason
  • 24:00 - 24:02
    Jane Dodsen, like a respected
  • 24:02 - 24:06
documentarian, and he has just done a
  • 24:06 - 24:08
    documentary series about Jeffree Star.
  • 24:08 - 24:11
Looking back on it, these videos were not
  • 24:11 - 24:14
good and 60% of them were just like
  • 24:14 - 24:16
filler but each and every one of them got
  • 24:17 - 24:19
around 30 million views. With that it
  • 24:19 - 24:22
mind, this brings us to Coachella 2019.
  • 24:23 - 24:25
This is where is all kicks off dude.
  • 24:25 - 24:28
During this time, James was "seeing" an
  • 24:28 - 24:32
influencer named Gage Gomez. "Seeing" it
  • 24:32 - 24:37
in air quotes because it was less of an
  • 24:38 - 24:42
actual relationship and more of actual
  • 24:42 - 24:44
like bicurious experimental time on Gage's
  • 24:45 - 24:47
end, but they were photographed at this
  • 24:47 - 24:50
Coachella multiple times, which made fans
  • 24:50 - 24:52
start to speculate that James had a
  • 24:52 - 24:54
boyfriend. And so, a lot of people began
  • 24:54 - 24:57
to tweet James about this and he actually
  • 24:58 - 24:59
responded to one of these tweets saying
  • 25:00 - 25:02
something along the lines of "No. I'm
  • 25:03 - 25:05
sadly still single. I was manipulated by
  • 25:05 - 25:07
a conman." I looked everywhere for this
  • 25:07 - 25:08
tweet and read it and writing down
  • 25:08 - 25:10
every thing it said at this point but
  • 25:11 - 25:12
can't find it anymore. So, sources that
  • 25:13 - 25:15
    trust me. James just subtweeted
  • 25:16 - 25:17
that Gage, several times over the
  • 25:18 - 25:20
    Coachella weekend, including this one
  • 25:20 - 25:23
which says, "I'm sitting sobbing in my
  • 25:23 - 25:26
hotel room at 8 am and have to be on set
  • 25:26 - 25:28
in an hour. This is no one's fault but
  • 25:28 - 25:31
my own because my dumbass continues to
  • 25:31 - 25:33
go for the same type of insecure cute
  • 25:34 - 25:36
boys and it gets me hurt, every single
  • 25:36 - 25:38
time. I was started fucking to hate
  • 25:38 - 25:40
myself". Tensions are rising. Things are
  • 25:41 - 25:43
bubbling up, ok. And the next day of the
  • 25:44 - 25:47
festival, James ended up getting mobbed
  • 25:47 - 25:50
by fans because for some reason he didn't
  • 25:50 - 25:53
have like a VIP ticket which would have
  • 25:53 - 25:55
let him in like exclusive spaces to not
  • 25:55 - 25:59
be around so many fans. And so, all these
  • 25:59 - 26:01
people are running up on him right. He is
  • 26:01 - 26:03
like, holy shit, what do I do? And this
  • 26:03 - 26:06
led him to text his friend and fellow
  • 26:06 - 26:08
beauty guru, Nikita Dragon. And he asked
  • 26:08 - 26:10
her for help about the sicky situation.
  • 26:10 - 26:13
And so, she connects him to the Sugarbear
  • 26:13 - 26:15
Hair Team, because they're had their
  • 26:15 - 26:18
own VIP tent space, and they were going
  • 26:19 - 26:20
to let James in and in exchange for him
  • 26:21 - 26:24
    doing just one Sugarbear Hair
  • 26:24 - 26:26
ad on his Instagram story and so,
  • 26:27 - 26:29
with no other choice, he signs the
  • 26:29 - 26:31
contract and gets in that tent. But let
  • 26:31 - 26:34
it be known that Sugarbear Hair was a
  • 26:34 - 26:35
very popular was a very popular vitamin
  • 26:36 - 26:39
brand as in Beauty Vitamins, as in for
  • 26:40 - 26:43
your skin and face. A.K.A. a direct
  • 26:43 - 26:45
    competitor to Tati Westbrook's
  • 26:45 - 26:49
    brand "Halo Beauty" Dramageddon arrived!
  • 26:49 - 26:52
Her story in the making. On April 22,
  • 26:53 - 26:56
James posted his contraction obligated ad
  • 26:56 - 26:59
on Instagram. Notably, as you can see
  • 26:59 - 27:02
here, he's actually promoting their sleep
  • 27:03 - 27:05
gummies, not their skin or hair ones. But
  • 27:06 - 27:07
he does this and then he gets on a plane
  • 27:08 - 27:10
to Australia. For what I am about to say
  • 27:10 - 27:13
next, at this point in time Tati
  • 27:13 - 27:17
Westbrook is 37 years old and James was
  • 27:18 - 27:21
only 19. By the time James landed in
  • 27:21 - 27:23
    Australia, Tati had already posted
  • 27:24 - 27:27
multiple stories of her crying and
  • 27:27 - 27:30
saying she feels so betrayed by a close
  • 27:30 - 27:32
friend and she had been taken advantage
  • 27:32 - 27:35
by somebody she thought she can trust and
  • 27:35 - 27:38
she helped so much and it was very
  • 27:38 - 27:38
obvious, like that she was talking about
  • 27:41 - 27:43
James. Like he literally just posted that
  • 27:44 - 27:46
Sugarbear Hair ad so, people added two
  • 27:47 - 27:50
plus two together so unbeknownst to James,
  • 27:50 - 27:53
thousands and thousands of people had
  • 27:53 - 27:55
begun adding him on Twitter, messaging
  • 27:55 - 27:58
him on Instagram. People he knew were
  • 27:58 - 28:00
sending him messages being like what's
  • 28:00 - 28:02
going on with you and Tati. And so, he
  • 28:02 - 28:03
gets off the plane, right. He sees this.
  • 28:03 - 28:06
He tries to call Tati. He tries to text
  • 28:06 - 28:08
her. He tries to call her husband.
  • 28:08 - 28:10
Neither of them answers but Tati just
  • 28:10 - 28:13
continues to post on Instagram. So, he
  • 28:14 - 28:16
decides to just make a public
  • 28:16 - 28:19
apology post. So the apology read," I want
  • 28:19 - 28:21
to publicly apologize to my close friend
  • 28:23 - 28:24
Tati. She has been like a mother to me
  • 28:24 - 28:26
since before my first days in this
  • 28:26 - 28:28
industry and has given me more love so
  • 28:28 - 28:30
important resources and advice that I
  • 28:31 - 28:33
could ever ask for. This weekend I did an
  • 28:34 - 28:36
Instagram story for sleep vitamins that
  • 28:36 - 28:39
I have been taking because the brand helps
  • 28:39 - 28:41
me with security when the crowd around me
  • 28:41 - 28:43
at Coachella became unsafe. I did not
  • 28:43 - 28:45
accept any money for the post. As most
  • 28:46 - 28:47
of you know, Tati has a vitamin brand
  • 28:48 - 28:50
which I take on a daily basis but at the
  • 28:51 - 28:53
moment, I did not think about the
  • 28:54 - 28:56
competition, which was a major oversight.
  • 28:56 - 28:59
I've supported Tati both online and off
  • 28:59 - 29:01
like she has done for me and I am
  • 29:02 - 29:04
devastated that I hurt somebody that I
  • 29:04 - 29:06
truly love and have endless respect for".
  • 29:07 - 29:10
I think the mature thing for 37-year-old
  • 29:11 - 29:14
Tati to do after seeing this would be to
  • 29:14 - 29:16
just talk to him, but instead she just
  • 29:17 - 29:20
continued ignoring him and posting and
  • 29:20 - 29:22
posting about this situation and crying
  • 29:22 - 29:26
online. And so, a few days later on May 4,
  • 29:27 - 29:31
2019, Gabriel Zamora, another beauty guru,
  • 29:31 - 29:34
posted this video titled "Makeup and
  • 29:34 - 29:36
Opinions". And during this video, he
  • 29:37 - 29:40
indirectly talks about the drama going on
  • 29:40 - 29:42
between Tati and James, saying that it's
  • 29:42 - 29:44
stupid that basically, Tati keeps like
  • 29:44 - 29:46
sub tweeting about him but won't
  • 29:46 - 29:49
actually say what's going on or just talk
  • 29:49 - 29:51
to him and he's honestly so right, like
  • 29:51 - 29:54
this 37-year-old woman just implying that
  • 29:54 - 29:57
    her 19-year-old colleague has done
  • 29:57 - 30:00
something awful for days on end but then
  • 30:00 - 30:02
refuses to say anything about it
  • 30:02 - 30:04
to divulge more information and so
  • 30:05 - 30:07
Gabriel concludes this segment of the
  • 30:07 - 30:11
video by saying "Girl, go sit on the
  • 30:11 - 30:12
internet and talk about it then". And
  • 30:13 - 30:16
those words would unknowingly be the
  • 30:16 - 30:20
final straw, the final catalyst for the
  • 30:20 - 30:23
video that we all know today as the
  • 30:24 - 30:29
"Bye sister". "Bye sister" is one of the
  • 30:29 - 30:33
most iconic YouTube videos of all time.
  • 30:34 - 30:37
Seriously, the cultural impact of this
  • 30:37 - 30:40
cannot be minimized. Cannot be silenced.
  • 30:41 - 30:44
I still remember where I was when "Bye
  • 30:44 - 30:46
Sister" happened. It was a cold, windy
  • 30:47 - 30:51
day. On May 10th, 2019, when Tati decided
  • 30:51 - 30:54
that she needed to spill the tea "on
  • 30:54 - 30:57
James' Charles". This video is insane
  • 30:58 - 31:00
from start gulp to finished. It begins
  • 31:00 - 31:04
Gabriel Zamora's famous last words, "Girl,
  • 31:04 - 31:06
go talk about it on the internet then".
  • 31:06 - 31:08
"If you are going to go on the internet
  • 31:08 - 31:09
and cry and heavily imply that there
  • 31:09 - 31:11
    a horrible human being
  • 31:11 - 31:13
and everybody can get what it is.
  • 31:13 - 31:14
    Girl, sit on the internet
  • 31:14 - 31:15
    and talk about it then".
  • 31:16 - 31:18
Imagine being the person that made this
  • 31:18 - 31:20
happen. But there were three major
  • 31:20 - 31:22
claims that Tati makes in this video
  • 31:22 - 31:25
against James Charles and let's just
  • 31:25 - 31:28
tackle them bullet point by bullet point.
  • 31:28 - 31:31
First and foremost, she claims that James
  • 31:32 - 31:34
    purposefully sabotaged her vitamin gummy
  • 31:35 - 31:37
    business by preorchestrating the Sugarbear
  • 31:38 - 31:40
hair contract. Two, that James' obnoxious
  • 31:41 - 31:43
and talks about c*ck and balls.
  • 31:43 - 31:47
Three, and the most serious one, is that
  • 31:47 - 31:50
he tries to manipulate straight men. But
  • 31:50 - 31:52
let's start off with the vitamins. Tati
  • 31:52 - 31:54
lists multiple ways in which she
  • 31:55 - 31:57
supported James over the years by pouring
  • 31:57 - 31:59
over contracts for him, setting up his
  • 32:00 - 32:01
Google add cent by him even after he
  • 32:02 - 32:05
tweeted about Ebola. But despite all this
  • 32:06 - 32:07
stuff that she's given him, she claims
  • 32:08 - 32:11
James gave her no warning before he posted
  • 32:11 - 32:13
his Sugarbear Hair ad, and also that he
  • 32:14 - 32:17
actually made the whole Coachella security
  • 32:18 - 32:20
thing up like he wasn't getting bombarded
  • 32:20 - 32:22
by fans or anything. He just already
  • 32:22 - 32:25
planned to do the Sugarbear Hair ad. Her
  • 32:25 - 32:27
reasoning is that there is no way that a
  • 32:27 - 32:30
company would ever just go out of their
  • 32:30 - 32:33
way to give you a contract just like that.
  • 32:33 - 32:36
And so, he has to be liying and even if
  • 32:36 - 32:38
    there was a security problem.
  • 32:38 - 32:41
Even if he was getting rushed by fans, he
  • 32:41 - 32:44
    should have simply walked away.
  • 32:44 - 32:46
You should have walked away. You should
  • 32:46 - 32:47
have held on to your integrity.
  • 32:48 - 32:50
You're phony. I know that now.
  • 32:50 - 32:52
These are all really interesting things
  • 32:52 - 32:55
to say because at the high of James' fame,
  • 32:55 - 32:58
I would think that a lot of companies
  • 32:58 - 33:00
might want to leap at the opportunity to
  • 33:00 - 33:02
work with him. I also kind of love it and
  • 33:02 - 33:04
I am kind of gagged by the way that she
  • 33:04 - 33:07
just says "walk away from people mobbing
  • 33:07 - 33:08
    you."
  • 33:08 - 33:10
A lot of people are like were like what
  • 33:10 - 33:11
is he supposed to do. It's dangerous.
  • 33:11 - 33:12
    Like leave. Go home.
  • 33:12 - 33:15
Why are you drowning? Just breathe.
  • 33:15 - 33:17
    Why are you getting cyberbullying?
  • 33:17 - 33:19
Walk away from the computer. She goes on
  • 33:20 - 33:21
to blame him for potentially losing
  • 33:22 - 33:24
thousands and thousands of dollars due
  • 33:24 - 33:27
to his Instagram ad. Because nobody is
  • 33:27 - 33:29
going to buy two different brands of hair
  • 33:29 - 33:30
    gummies.
  • 33:30 - 33:32
    It's not a palette. It's not something
  • 33:32 - 33:33
    that people buy multiples of.
  • 33:34 - 33:36
Then she then contradicts herself by
  • 33:36 - 33:38
saying that she doesn't needs ads. She
  • 33:38 - 33:41
doesn't want ads and her product is
  • 33:41 - 33:42
    selling like hotcakes
  • 33:42 - 33:45
    We're selling like hotcakes. Like I don't
  • 33:45 - 33:47
need to at this point. It seems like I
  • 33:47 - 33:50
am going on about this first bullet point
  • 33:50 - 33:53
for a while. It's because the majority of
  • 33:54 - 33:58
the video is actually about the gummy
  • 33:59 - 34:00
vitamins. She claims that James said
  • 34:00 - 34:03
he couldn't advertise for halo beauty on
  • 34:03 - 34:05
his channel because he had too many young
  • 34:06 - 34:08
fans watching and he didn't want to like
  • 34:08 - 34:10
market them supplements and so, she's
  • 34:10 - 34:13
like "But here you are on your Instagram
  • 34:14 - 34:17
story, selling sleep pills to kids which
  • 34:17 - 34:22
is whoa thats a reach. Ma'am, these are
  • 34:22 - 34:23
    melatonin gummies.
  • 34:24 - 34:26
Moving on to the fucking c*ck and balls
  • 34:26 - 34:28
    and straight boy allegation section.
  • 34:29 - 34:31
    Unfortunately, those two things are
  • 34:31 - 34:35
interlinked in this video. So that's why
  • 34:36 - 34:37
I'm roping them together. It's not
  • 34:37 - 34:38
    that I'm not taking
  • 34:38 - 34:40
the last one seriously. It's that
  • 34:40 - 34:42
Tati has... Tati has done this to me.
  • 34:42 - 34:46
Tati claims that James tried to manipulate
  • 34:46 - 34:48
a waiter at her birthday dinner into
  • 34:49 - 34:51
thinking he was gay. She also claims that
  • 34:52 - 34:55
he was saying very loudly explicit things
  • 34:55 - 34:57
that he wanted to do to him.
  • 34:57 - 34:59
But what was most shocking to her was the
  • 34:59 - 35:02
fact that he was willing to talk about
  • 35:02 - 35:05
all this in front of her family and his
  • 35:05 - 35:07
own parents which is why we get the
  • 35:07 - 35:10
iconic sucking dck and cck line.
  • 35:10 - 35:11
Sucking and dick and cock. Like
  • 35:11 - 35:13
I'm just like Oh my God
  • 35:13 - 35:15
time and place and you did it at my
  • 35:15 - 35:16
    birthday dinner.
  • 35:16 - 35:18
She claims she told James to leave the
  • 35:19 - 35:20
waiter alone and that he was straight.
  • 35:21 - 35:23
And in response he said it doesn't
  • 35:23 - 35:25
matter. I'm famous. She concludes the
  • 35:25 - 35:27
video with talking about some other
  • 35:27 - 35:31
vague instances of James trying to
  • 35:31 - 35:33
manipulate straight men and claims that
  • 35:33 - 35:35
the only reason why she's posting this
  • 35:35 - 35:38
is because it's a last ditch effort to get
  • 35:38 - 35:40
through to him so that he will stop
  • 35:40 - 35:43
trying to manipulate and seduce these
  • 35:43 - 35:45
straight men. Okay, let me just do a
  • 35:45 - 35:47
quick disclaimer here. I'm going to be
  • 35:48 - 35:50
treating the bye sister allegations as
  • 35:50 - 35:53
their own separate thing. Not really
  • 35:53 - 35:56
trying to connect them to further
  • 35:56 - 35:58
allegations because I feel like that will
  • 35:58 - 36:01
get very crazy and twisted and that is
  • 36:01 - 36:04
not what I want because a lot of bye
  • 36:04 - 36:06
sister, as you will see, gets debunked.
  • 36:07 - 36:09
Where as in the future. there are actual
  • 36:09 - 36:14
victims that James like has with reciepts
  • 36:14 - 36:16
    So I don't want Dramageddon
  • 36:16 - 36:17
    and like that world
  • 36:18 - 36:20
    intermixing out of respect.
  • 36:20 - 36:23
And so, with that in mind, we
  • 36:23 - 36:25
need to talk a little bit more about the
  • 36:25 - 36:27
elephant in the room with bye sister and
  • 36:28 - 36:31
that is that Tati spent the majority of
  • 36:31 - 36:34
video talking about her beef with James,
  • 36:34 - 36:37
with the vitamins, but then in the end
  • 36:38 - 36:40
claims that she making this video because
  • 36:41 - 36:43
    of the sexual ab*use allegations.
  • 36:43 - 36:46
Including but not limited to the sexual
  • 36:46 - 36:48
harrassment of the waiter at the
  • 36:48 - 36:50
restaurant. Also just have to mention
  • 36:51 - 36:53
it, I don't know if you noticed this but
  • 36:53 - 36:57
the Jeffree Star Lipsticks sitting in the
  • 36:57 - 37:00
background of this video. Oh My God!
  • 37:00 - 37:04
    Move over classic literature writers.
  • 37:04 - 37:07
That is the best foreshadowing I've ever
  • 37:08 - 37:11
    seen. Regardless, the immediate public
  • 37:11 - 37:15
response to bye sister was cateclismic.
  • 37:16 - 37:18
The video quickly accumulated 30 million
  • 37:18 - 37:22
views and a trend sparked within the hour
  • 37:23 - 37:26
of burning or destroying your James'
  • 37:26 - 37:28
Morphe palatte . There are many of these
  • 37:28 - 37:31
compilations. This one alone is 10 minutes
  • 37:31 - 37:34
straight of people just destroying their
  • 37:34 - 37:36
    James Morphe palatte. James Charles
  • 37:37 - 37:39
is over party was trending on Twitter.
  • 37:40 - 37:42
My personal memory of this is
  • 37:42 - 37:45
going on Snapchat and seeing on
  • 37:45 - 37:47
one of my friend's stories that there was
  • 37:47 - 37:50
a line out the door at my local Ulta
  • 37:51 - 37:53
of girls were just returning the
  • 37:53 - 37:55
James' palette. I really, really wish I
  • 37:56 - 37:57
could have found footage of that because
  • 37:57 - 37:59
it contributes to a bigger picture here
  • 37:59 - 38:02
and that is, I think, everybody had a
  • 38:03 - 38:04
little bit of mass hysteria with this
  • 38:05 - 38:08
because I have just never seen people
  • 38:08 - 38:10
react in the way people reacted
  • 38:10 - 38:13
to bye sister. Like people have done other
  • 38:13 - 38:16
alleged things that are of equivalent or
  • 38:16 - 38:20
worse and we have not seen
  • 38:20 - 38:21
    something like this
  • 38:21 - 38:24
happen. Anyways, within all this havoc,
  • 38:24 - 38:27
later that night James post an apology
  • 38:28 - 38:31
video simply titled "Tati". This is a nine
  • 38:31 - 38:34
minute video but I am willing to bet the
  • 38:34 - 38:37
actual amount of talking in it is more so
  • 38:37 - 38:39
around like four because in it,
  • 38:39 - 38:42
James is very clearly jetlagged and
  • 38:43 - 38:46
tired like he's whispering. He's talking
  • 38:46 - 38:48
    really slow.
  • 38:48 - 38:53
    I met Tati.
  • 38:53 - 38:55
Not only that, he only apologizes
  • 38:56 - 38:58
    for disrespecting Tati. He doesn't
  • 38:58 - 39:02
confirm or deny any other allegations. he
  • 39:02 - 39:04
just needs to be more careful of his
  • 39:05 - 39:06
relationships in the future in the
  • 39:07 - 39:10
public eye. And so, posts and to say that
  • 39:10 - 39:14
people um didn't receive it well would be
  • 39:14 - 39:16
a flub. it would be a lil flub.
  • 39:16 - 39:19
As soon as video dropped, a ton of
  • 39:19 - 39:20
    channels began to live
  • 39:21 - 39:24
streaming. The live sub count of James
  • 39:24 - 39:27
    Charles losing thousands and thousands
  • 39:27 - 39:29
    and thousands of subscribers meanwhile,
  • 39:30 - 39:33
showing Tati gaining subs. I'm not joking
  • 39:34 - 39:35
with you guys when I say, there was
  • 39:35 - 39:37
probably like 300 of these channels all
  • 39:38 - 39:42
active at once and in the live chat people
  • 39:42 - 39:45
were goading them on like a sports event
  • 39:46 - 39:49
    before terminally online makeup girlies
  • 39:49 - 39:52
At least partially because of these
  • 39:52 - 39:55
live sub trackers, James Charles would
  • 39:55 - 39:58
become the first Youtuber to lose one
  • 39:59 - 40:03
million subscribers in one day. There were
  • 40:03 - 40:06
a ton of memes about the Tati apology
  • 40:06 - 40:08
video floating around and let's just
  • 40:08 - 40:11
say all of the breathing in it did not
  • 40:11 - 40:12
    help the case.
  • 40:12 - 40:17
    *breathing
  • 40:18 - 40:20
Meanwhile, a ton of people started chiming
  • 40:20 - 40:22
in about the situation on Twitter and
  • 40:22 - 40:25
even just kind of making things up to
  • 40:25 - 40:28
    insert themselves into the conversation
  • 40:29 - 40:30
    because it was so trendy.
  • 40:31 - 40:33
For example, the singer Zara Larson posted
  • 40:34 - 40:35
    this tweet that said
  • 40:35 - 40:37
"I'm cackling cause he hit up my
  • 40:37 - 40:39
boyfriend in the dms several times
  • 40:39 - 40:42
    knowing damn well he's straight".
  • 40:42 - 40:44
She would later go on to apologize for
  • 40:44 - 40:46
that because she didn't realize that he
  • 40:49 - 40:50
had only sent her boyfriend one message.
  • 40:51 - 40:53
There was also some person making the
  • 40:54 - 40:55
claim that in high school, James had
  • 40:56 - 40:58
catfished the entire football team just
  • 40:58 - 40:58
to trick them into sending him d*** pics,
  • 41:01 - 41:04
    which I mean, it's a wild claim.
  • 41:05 - 41:07
I'm not saying impossible but it's
  • 41:07 - 41:08
    f******* wild, I'll say that.
  • 41:09 - 41:11
At this point, people also mass
  • 41:11 - 41:14
unfollowing James on Instagram, as well,
  • 41:14 - 41:17
and some of the people unfollowed him
  • 41:17 - 41:19
    include people like the Kardashians,
  • 41:19 - 41:22
    Demi Lavato, Ariana Grande....
  • 41:22 - 41:25
But most importantly to all of this, is
  • 41:25 - 41:28
the fact that every single one of the
  • 41:28 - 41:30
members of the sister squad unfollowed
  • 41:30 - 41:33
    him which affectively ended it.
  • 41:33 - 41:36
The next day, May 14th, Gage Gomez
  • 41:36 - 41:38
uploads a video titled " My first
  • 41:39 - 41:41
YouTube video" and in it he talks about
  • 41:42 - 41:44
how James having sub tweeted him had
  • 41:45 - 41:48
actually, caused a shit ton of his fans to
  • 41:48 - 41:51
his page and start threatening him and
  • 41:51 - 41:54
harassing him. He also says that James
  • 41:54 - 41:57
realized that these sub tweets were wrong
  • 41:58 - 42:00
because he ended up apologizing to him
  • 42:00 - 42:02
and deleting them, but essentially he just
  • 42:03 - 42:04
wanted to clear his name out of this.
  • 42:05 - 42:07
    Confusingly though, shortly after this
  • 42:07 - 42:10
video was posted he went on a Instagram
  • 42:10 - 42:13
live stream and when somebody asked him
  • 42:13 - 42:15
if he was single he said that he had just
  • 42:16 - 42:18
been dumped and seemed to imply that
  • 42:18 - 42:21
it was either James or related to James
  • 42:22 - 42:23
    in some way.
  • 42:23 - 42:26
Someone by the little name of, um
  • 42:26 - 42:29
I'm not gonna say it. It starts with a J.
  • 42:29 - 42:31
What makes this even more convulated to
  • 42:32 - 42:34
is that I found out on one of the days
  • 42:35 - 42:37
that James was at Coachella, he went to
  • 42:37 - 42:40
brunch with this guy named DIllon Gike
  • 42:40 - 42:41
I think and the *gasp it all is, is that
  • 42:42 - 42:47
this person Dillon is Gage's friend and
  • 42:47 - 42:50
speculated more than friend. So there's
  • 42:51 - 42:53
that interesting thing. Then Dillon would
  • 42:53 - 42:57
comment on Gage's page calling clout
  • 42:57 - 42:59
chaser. I don't know what kind of friend
  • 43:00 - 43:02
dynamics or anything more happening here,
  • 43:03 - 43:07
but it made me very confused about Gage's
  • 43:07 - 43:11
stance in all of this. Shortly after that
  • 43:11 - 43:13
live stream though Gage would post
  • 43:13 - 43:16
another video that just made me even more
  • 43:16 - 43:19
confused because in this video he said
  • 43:19 - 43:21
that James tried to manipulate him to
  • 43:22 - 43:24
thinking he was gay, even after telling
  • 43:25 - 43:28
that he was straight multiple times but
  • 43:28 - 43:30
James kept pursuing him. I have
  • 43:31 - 43:33
nothing more to say about this video even
  • 43:33 - 43:35
though I totally believe it could have
  • 43:35 - 43:37
happened but also, I am confused.
  • 43:38 - 43:41
    *Popping noise
  • 43:41 - 43:42
    Alrighty, Here we are.
  • 43:42 - 43:44
I am just a little bit lost in it all.
  • 43:44 - 43:44
    Let's move on.
  • 43:45 - 43:47
While all this is going on, Ian Jeffree,
  • 43:48 - 43:51
A.K.A. James' little brother tweets out
  • 43:51 - 43:54
" Why does everyone act so tough over the
  • 43:54 - 43:54
    internet".
  • 43:54 - 43:58
And Jeffree Star chimes in within A.K.
  • 43:58 - 44:01
47 for no reason he says
  • 44:01 - 44:03
"Why is your brother a predator?? Why'd
  • 44:04 - 44:06
you really move back to NYC? Exactly.
  • 44:06 - 44:08
    Shut the f*** up".
  • 44:08 - 44:11
For context, I guess Ian had moved back
  • 44:11 - 44:14
to New York City to be with their parents
  • 44:14 - 44:18
recently, but saying this to a 17-year-old
  • 44:18 - 44:21
that probably has no idea what you are
  • 44:21 - 44:24
talking about. It's so Jeffree Star. Like,
  • 44:24 - 44:26
at least he stays on brand like he just
  • 44:27 - 44:29
continues to be a bad person.
  • 44:29 - 44:31
But Jeffree ended up continuing he said,
  • 44:31 - 44:34
"There is a reason why I haven't seen him
  • 44:34 - 44:37
since Tati's birthday in February. He is a
  • 44:37 - 44:40
danger to society. Everything that Tati
  • 44:40 - 44:42
    said is 100% true.
  • 44:42 - 44:44
On the same day as these tweets, Sam,
  • 44:45 - 44:48
the waiter from Tati's birthday party.
  • 44:48 - 44:49
    "Sucking a dick and cock"
  • 44:49 - 44:52
Posted a video explaining his side of the
  • 44:52 - 44:55
story and basically, Sam explains that
  • 44:55 - 44:58
James had asked another one of the waiters
  • 44:58 - 45:01
for his number and if he would was single.
  • 45:02 - 45:04
He also complimented him on the way
  • 45:04 - 45:06
that he looked. Since he didn't get his
  • 45:06 - 45:08
number, he left the restaurant and that
  • 45:09 - 45:12
was that but later that night, Sam's
  • 45:12 - 45:16
sister convinced him to dm James and talk
  • 45:16 - 45:19
to him again and so, he did and they
  • 45:19 - 45:21
    started talking. James apologizes for
  • 45:21 - 45:23
flirting with him. At this point he
  • 45:24 - 45:26
    actually found it flattering.
  • 45:26 - 45:29
    The conversation escalated until James
  • 45:29 - 45:32
invited him to his hotel room, and since
  • 45:32 - 45:36
Sam says he is bicurious he went to
  • 45:36 - 45:38
go meet up with him. He says
  • 45:38 - 45:39
they ended up making out for around
  • 45:39 - 45:42
an hour at the hotel and that James'
  • 45:42 - 45:46
is the worst kind of kisser he's ever had.
  • 45:46 - 45:47
    It's just...
  • 45:47 - 45:49
If I am being honest, he is the worst
  • 45:49 - 45:51
kisser I've ever kissed. Way too much
  • 45:51 - 45:53
tongue. He then goes on to say that James
  • 45:54 - 45:56
begged him to stay in the hotel with him
  • 45:57 - 45:59
but because he did not enjoy the kissing,
  • 46:00 - 46:02
he decided to leave anyways. And now the
  • 46:02 - 46:05
following week, James offered to fly Sam
  • 46:05 - 46:08
out to California for his birthday, but
  • 46:08 - 46:10
Sam told him that he figured out that he
  • 46:11 - 46:13
was pretty much straight so it wouldn't be
  • 46:13 - 46:15
right for him to accept the invitation. At
  • 46:15 - 46:18
which point James became upset and told
  • 46:18 - 46:20
him that he was not straight and that
  • 46:20 - 46:22
he hoped that he would figure that out
  • 46:22 - 46:25
sooner than later. The TLDR at the end of
  • 46:26 - 46:28
this video is that the last draw for Sam
  • 46:29 - 46:32
to cut contact off with James was finding
  • 46:32 - 46:35
out he was also talking to Gage at the
  • 46:36 - 46:38
same time meaning that he thought that
  • 46:38 - 46:42
he was playing two straight guys at once.
  • 46:42 - 46:46
On May 13th, Nikita Dragon jumps back into
  • 46:46 - 46:49
Dramageddon and tweets out strange shots
  • 46:49 - 46:52
between her and James Charles. She's
  • 46:52 - 46:54
trying to back him up, trying to be like
  • 46:54 - 46:56
"See, it really did happen guys",
  • 46:56 - 46:59
like he was getting bombarded at Coachella
  • 46:59 - 47:02
but this really only made things worse,
  • 47:02 - 47:04
    because after Tati's video, everyone
  • 47:05 - 47:07
really believed that James had reached
  • 47:07 - 47:10
out to Sugarbear Hair in a pre-planned
  • 47:10 - 47:12
effort, not to mention that she didn't
  • 47:13 - 47:15
bring up the straight boy allegations so
  • 47:15 - 47:17
people were really clowning on her for
  • 47:17 - 47:19
this. She posted a YouTube video the
  • 47:19 - 47:22
    following day titled "What really
  • 47:22 - 47:24
happened" and this made plenty of fans
  • 47:24 - 47:26
click on the video expecting her to
  • 47:27 - 47:29
talk about James and Tati situation
  • 47:29 - 47:30
because, of course, what else could this
  • 47:31 - 47:33
be about and, mind you, I haven't actually
  • 47:34 - 47:36
    watched this video completely, scrubbed
  • 47:37 - 47:39
from the internet. Cannot find it
  • 47:39 - 47:41
    anywhere. But apparently instead of
  • 47:42 - 47:44
    addressing anything relevant, she just
  • 47:44 - 47:46
makes a general statement about mean
  • 47:47 - 47:49
comments and then plugs her beauty brand
  • 47:50 - 47:52
for the last, like five minutes. Which
  • 47:52 - 47:54
goes to show how much people
  • 47:55 - 47:57
were capitalizing off this beef. I mean
  • 47:57 - 48:00
Nikita Dragon was literally just there at
  • 48:01 - 48:03
Coachella with James. She could have said
  • 48:04 - 48:06
    something about the subject but
  • 48:06 - 48:08
she was like I'm gonna get into this with
  • 48:08 - 48:11
my Dragon Beauty brand. This same night,
  • 48:11 - 48:13
Jeffree Star goes out on Snapchat and
  • 48:13 - 48:15
starts talking about how he has crazy
  • 48:16 - 48:19
receipts on James and he's going to be
  • 48:19 - 48:22
exposing him very soon and I have to say
  • 48:23 - 48:25
this is probably my least favorite thing
  • 48:25 - 48:28
that Jeffrey does all the time is that I
  • 48:28 - 48:31
feel like actually does have crazy
  • 48:31 - 48:34
blackmail against people but he only ever
  • 48:35 - 48:38
uses it for self-interest, Like he's like
  • 48:38 - 48:40
he has something insane like crazy
  • 48:40 - 48:43
proof that James Charles has done
  • 48:43 - 48:45
something beyond the pale that we don't
  • 48:45 - 48:47
even know about yet. The only way
  • 48:48 - 48:49
he would leak it is if it was in his
  • 48:50 - 48:51
    own benefit,
  • 48:51 - 48:53
On May 17th, Tati Westbrook post another
  • 48:53 - 48:56
    video addressing this whole situation
  • 48:56 - 48:59
called "Why I did it" and for some reason
  • 48:59 - 49:01
    this video hasn't been archived.
  • 49:01 - 49:03
I was only able to watch someone else's
  • 49:03 - 49:05
reaction of it but basically gist that I
  • 49:06 - 49:09
got was this was just her doubling down on
  • 49:09 - 49:12
what she has said previously, only now she
  • 49:12 - 49:15
wishes people wouldn't pick sides on what
  • 49:15 - 49:15
    between her and James.
  • 49:16 - 49:18
But little did everyone know that that
  • 49:18 - 49:20
the next day on May 18th, James would
  • 49:21 - 49:23
upload "No More Lies", which is probably
  • 49:23 - 49:26
    the internet's biggest uno reverse.
  • 49:27 - 49:30
Which nobody claims in bisister and so
  • 49:30 - 49:33
    many debunkinings and not debunkinings
  • 49:33 - 49:35
    happening in "No More Lies".
  • 49:35 - 49:37
We are just going to take it category by
  • 49:37 - 49:39
category again. No More claims state
  • 49:39 - 49:41
of claim. Firstly, she said the ad was
  • 49:42 - 49:44
preorchestrated. It was that Jamas talked
  • 49:45 - 49:49
to the Sugarbear hair team on the grounds
  • 49:49 - 49:52
at Coachella, Two, James didn't give her
  • 49:52 - 49:54
any warning before he put up the ad.
  • 49:55 - 49:57
He only says something after which was not
  • 49:57 - 49:59
the case. He had screenshots of the text
  • 50:00 - 50:02
message where he warned her in advance
  • 50:02 - 50:05
and to which she replied "I'm so hurt"
  • 50:06 - 50:08
and he gave a lengthy apology.
  • 50:08 - 50:11
Three, she said James said he wouldn't
  • 50:11 - 50:14
talk about Halo Beauty on social media or
  • 50:14 - 50:15
his channel because he didn't want to
  • 50:16 - 50:18
    promote supplements to young kids.
  • 50:19 - 50:21
This is a really weird and strange lie.
  • 50:21 - 50:23
Like he promoted Halo Beauty multiple
  • 50:24 - 50:26
times and across his social media pages.
  • 50:26 - 50:30
So, I am trying to understand Tati, I am
  • 50:30 - 50:32
trying why to lie about maniscule things.
  • 50:32 - 50:40
    *Inaudible
  • 50:40 - 50:40
Another one of Tati's claims was that
  • 50:42 - 50:44
James had been using his power, influence
  • 50:45 - 50:48
and money in order to extort sexual
  • 50:49 - 50:52
favors to people to manipulate them and J
  • 50:52 - 50:54
James admits that he is a 19-year-old
  • 50:54 - 50:56
virgin and that isn't the case because he
  • 50:57 - 50:59
is not fuckin but I will say this. At
  • 51:00 - 51:01
12:40 in this video he says
  • 51:01 - 51:03
"We'll never use my fame, money, or
  • 51:04 - 51:06
power to manipulate or get any sexual
  • 51:06 - 51:07
    actions from a guy",
  • 51:07 - 51:11
Which did not age well. When it comes to
  • 51:11 - 51:12
this allegation in the James Charles
  • 51:13 - 51:15
timeline, I have a little bit of a
  • 51:15 - 51:17
question mark over it because I am not
  • 51:17 - 51:21
sure how much damage he had done at age
  • 51:21 - 51:24
    19. But from what we know about Gage and
  • 51:24 - 51:27
Sam, the waiter, there were some strange
  • 51:27 - 51:30
    tendencies already at play.
  • 51:30 - 51:32
Another claim Tati had was at her birthday
  • 51:33 - 51:35
dinner she had tried to tell James the
  • 51:35 - 51:37
waiter was straight and to leave him alone
  • 51:37 - 51:40
He replied saying it doesn't matter. I'm
  • 51:40 - 51:42
so famous, right? Well , it turns out
  • 51:43 - 51:45
that was actually a lie as well, because
  • 51:46 - 51:48
there are screenshots of James and all
  • 51:48 - 51:51
of his friends including Tati making the
  • 51:51 - 51:53
same joke where they say "We're so famous"
  • 51:54 - 51:56
like definitely it was not supposed to be
  • 51:56 - 51:58
    a serious thing. Again, really
  • 51:59 - 52:00
    interesting. I don't understand the
  • 52:01 - 52:03
choices to lie about something so petty,
  • 52:04 - 52:05
especially when you are overall message
  • 52:05 - 52:07
was supposed to be about something as
  • 52:08 - 52:10
    serious as like sexual misconduct
  • 52:10 - 52:13
allegations. And speaking of Sam, the
  • 52:13 - 52:14
waiter, James has screenshots of their
  • 52:15 - 52:17
conversations as well. And in these
  • 52:17 - 52:19
screenshots you can clearly see that
  • 52:19 - 52:22
Same had actually told him straight up
  • 52:22 - 52:24
that he was bisexual. So this is where it
  • 52:25 - 52:26
gets kind of interesting cause Sam didn't
  • 52:27 - 52:28
mentioned this in his side of the story.
  • 52:29 - 52:30
After they agreed to stop their
  • 52:30 - 52:32
    relationship, James had blocked him.
  • 52:32 - 52:34
And after this, Sam had used his friend's
  • 52:35 - 52:38
phone to DM James from his account and
  • 52:39 - 52:42
blocked and why he actually figured out
  • 52:42 - 52:43
that he was full gay so that he could get
  • 52:44 - 52:46
him on a FaceTime call and record him.
  • 52:46 - 52:49
Instead of talking to James about his gay
  • 52:49 - 52:51
revelation, he asked James if he was
  • 52:52 - 52:54
talking to Gage at the same time that they
  • 52:54 - 52:56
were talking. At this point, Sam told
  • 52:57 - 52:58
James that he wasn't actually gay. He was
  • 52:59 - 53:00
just trying to get him on this phone call
  • 53:00 - 53:03
and so James hung up. But then, after the
  • 53:04 - 53:06
call, Sam text him that he basically
  • 53:06 - 53:09
confirmed bi, which it why in Sam's video
  • 53:09 - 53:11
you saw the screenshot of James saying
  • 53:11 - 53:14
that you are not straight, You are not
  • 53:14 - 53:15
ever going to be straight. The sooner you
  • 53:15 - 53:17
figure that out the better, etc. Now
  • 53:17 - 53:20
    outside of Tati's allegations, Jeffree
  • 53:20 - 53:23
Star had personally been texted James
  • 53:23 - 53:25
that he had a bunch a dirt on him and
  • 53:26 - 53:27
that he was gonna expose him for various
  • 53:28 - 53:30
things sooner or later, And so, at this
  • 53:30 - 53:32
point in "No More Lies", we start to
  • 53:32 - 53:35
address that. And so Jeffree's claims are
  • 53:35 - 53:38
as follows: Number one: that James has
  • 53:38 - 53:40
been talking shit about him. Number two:
  • 53:40 - 53:42
that James had to try to Jeffree's
  • 53:43 - 53:44
brother in law to like him and sent him
  • 53:45 - 53:47
    unsolicited, inappropriate pictures. And
  • 53:47 - 53:50
thirdly, James trapped Sam the the waiter
  • 53:51 - 53:53
in his hotel and that they were all gonna
  • 53:53 - 53:55
get together and film a video about how
  • 53:55 - 54:00
that happened and expose. Lastly, and
  • 54:00 - 54:02
this is the craziest one that he had tried
  • 54:03 - 54:05
to touch and molest Grayson Dolan in his
  • 54:06 - 54:08
sleep and made him uncomfortable for
  • 54:08 - 54:10
months. James' rebuttal to these claims
  • 54:11 - 54:13
were that he had only talked to Jeffree's
  • 54:14 - 54:16
brother-in-law a handful of times and
  • 54:17 - 54:19
it was nothing inappropriate. And next,
  • 54:19 - 54:21
the trapping Sam in the hotel room thing
  • 54:21 - 54:23
we know is not true because Sam. himself,
  • 54:24 - 54:26
said so. And then finally, the rebuttal
  • 54:26 - 54:29
for the most serious and crazy allegation
  • 54:29 - 54:31
is that this is simply not true and that
  • 54:31 - 54:33
the rejection jokes that was in the
  • 54:33 - 54:35
sister's squad videos were pretty much
  • 54:35 - 54:38
all staged. James also claims that the
  • 54:38 - 54:40
Dolan twins were among the first to call
  • 54:40 - 54:42
him and make sure he was alright and
  • 54:42 - 54:45
during the initial bisister of the
  • 54:45 - 54:47
dramageddon of it all. There weren't any
  • 54:47 - 54:49
receipts for that. We don't really know
  • 54:49 - 54:52
what happened between them and neither
  • 54:52 - 54:54
of the Dolan twins ever refollowed James,
  • 54:55 - 54:58
so there is that as well. We'll talk a
  • 54:58 - 54:59
little bit more about the Dolans later
  • 55:00 - 55:01
on. But all in all, "No More Lies"
  • 55:02 - 55:04
changed the YouTube landscape for weeks
  • 55:04 - 55:07
and flipped the entire situation on it's
  • 55:07 - 55:09
head. Like, never in my life have I seen
  • 55:09 - 55:12
people switch up this fast before. And
  • 55:12 - 55:14
despite every body being this initially
  • 55:15 - 55:16
being on Tati's side in all of this,
  • 55:16 - 55:18
right after this video dropped, his
  • 55:18 - 55:20
    subscriber account rise again and
  • 55:20 - 55:24
meanwhile, Tati's began to fall. Speaking
  • 55:25 - 55:27
of Tati, her immediate reponse to "No More
  • 55:27 - 55:30
Lies" was to get on Twitter and say
  • 55:30 - 55:31
    things like this:
  • 55:31 - 55:33
I have left town on a digital break to
  • 55:33 - 55:36
heal and pray for healing on all sides. My
  • 55:37 - 55:38
family made me aware on what was just
  • 55:39 - 55:40
posted and I am disappointed ro see
  • 55:41 - 55:43
it littered with so many lies and half
  • 55:43 - 55:47
truths. I stand by my videos. Do not twist
  • 55:47 - 55:49
my words to what they are not, hear the
  • 55:50 - 55:50
    message.
  • 55:51 - 55:53
Dudes, can I be totally honest with you
  • 55:53 - 55:55
guys right now? The way Tati speaks
  • 55:55 - 55:58
like she's the Buddhist monk pisses me
  • 55:58 - 56:00
off! She also posted a couple of
  • 56:01 - 56:02
other Tweets but they basicaaly said the
  • 56:02 - 56:05
same exact thing like, "Praying on all
  • 56:05 - 56:07
sides", "Peace and love" da ba duh
  • 56:08 - 56:10
Then she goes on to like a novel length
  • 56:10 - 56:13
post and the TLDR that I give you says:
  • 56:13 - 56:16
"I spent all the last few years building
  • 56:16 - 56:19
up a career on honesty, integrity and
  • 56:19 - 56:21
truth. But let me tell you guys that
  • 56:21 - 56:24
Tati is a makeup reviewer. She basically
  • 56:24 - 56:26
says things like "I hope that our
  • 56:26 - 56:28
    community is somehow strengthened from
  • 56:29 - 56:31
all this madness and that we will all
  • 56:31 - 56:33
strive to hold ourselves and each other
  • 56:33 - 56:34
    to a higher standard".
  • 56:35 - 56:37
    Girl, what?!? Jeffree Star also
  • 56:37 - 56:39
immediately got on Twitter and said:
  • 56:39 - 56:42
"Everyone keeps asking me for receipts...
  • 56:42 - 56:45
I have so much to say and some really sad
  • 56:45 - 56:47
and disgusting things to show you guys.
  • 56:48 - 56:50
James Charles tried to mass manipulate
  • 56:50 - 56:52
all of you today. When I show you
  • 56:53 - 56:55
the proof and why I tweeted
  • 56:55 - 56:57
the tweet about him, you'll understand"
  • 56:58 - 57:04
and get this. Get this! Tati deletes Bye
  • 57:04 - 57:07
Sister after just typing up novels about
  • 57:08 - 57:10
how she said she said what she said and
  • 57:11 - 57:12
she stands by it, And she is praying for
  • 57:12 - 57:14
everyone on all sides. I hope the
  • 57:14 - 57:16
community gets stronger out of this.
  • 57:16 - 57:19
Like she can't claim that this was for the
  • 57:19 - 57:20
betterment of society in and then
  • 57:20 - 57:23
take it down. She then took like a week
  • 57:23 - 57:25
and a half off of YouTube and returned
  • 57:25 - 57:28
video called "I'm Back" and it's literally
  • 57:28 - 57:30
just a makeup tutorial, She just pretends
  • 57:31 - 57:34
like none of that even happened. And as
  • 57:34 - 57:36
you can see here, the audience was just
  • 57:36 - 57:40
really confused by this, The top comment
  • 57:40 - 57:44
literally "Tati, I stand by everything I
  • 57:44 - 57:47
said". Also,, Tati deletes video a day
  • 57:47 - 57:50
after the Tati video. Sam, the waiter,
  • 57:50 - 57:53
returns to the internet with a new
  • 57:53 - 57:56
video titled "I'm sorry James Charles".
  • 57:56 - 57:58
In it, he says that his friends and his
  • 57:58 - 58:01
family pressured him to continue talking
  • 58:01 - 58:03
to James and even typed out some of the
  • 58:04 - 58:06
messages to James pretending to be Sam.
  • 58:07 - 58:09
He also says that they hold him to be
  • 58:09 - 58:11
just pretend to be gay and to date James
  • 58:11 - 58:14
to get all the opportunities that would
  • 58:14 - 58:15
    come with that.
  • 58:15 - 58:21
    *inaudible
  • 58:21 - 58:23
James returned to YouTube in a very
  • 58:23 - 58:26
pleasant audience and a very different
  • 58:27 - 58:30
internet compared to a just a few short
  • 58:30 - 58:32
weeks a go. By all standards, Tati's video
  • 58:33 - 58:34
should have been that final nail
  • 58:35 - 58:37
in the coffin and impossible to come
  • 58:37 - 58:41
back from, but there he was an amazing
  • 58:41 - 58:43
    comeback story at the time.
  • 58:43 - 58:46
In November of 2019, Tati was still
  • 58:46 - 58:49
trying to fully ignore what happened and
  • 58:49 - 58:52
move on despite on not saying anything
  • 58:52 - 58:54
and then she wants to make a brand
  • 58:54 - 58:57
called Tati Beaity and spoiler alert, both
  • 58:57 - 59:00
Tati Beauty and Halo Beauty would not
  • 59:00 - 59:02
    survive the upcoming pandemic.
  • 59:03 - 59:05
And despite everything that Jeffree had
  • 59:06 - 59:08
said about James being a disgusting
  • 59:08 - 59:10
monster and how he had all these receipts.
  • 59:10 - 59:13
He was ready to expose him. By March of
  • 59:13 - 59:16
2020, he had done a full 180 and even
  • 59:17 - 59:19
left us a supported comment on one of
  • 59:19 - 59:21
James' post. I mean this is Jeffree Star
  • 59:22 - 59:23
we are talking about so it isn't that
  • 59:23 - 59:26
surprising. Jeffree Star, very lore heavy,
  • 59:26 - 59:28
evil man. Even then, Jeffree then posted
  • 59:30 - 59:31
a video title "Never Doing This Again"
  • 59:33 - 59:35
and I know just from that title you are
  • 59:35 - 59:37
thinking, "What, what is he never going
  • 59:38 - 59:40
to do again?" In this video he basically
  • 59:40 - 59:42
says, "Just because I said that I hate
  • 59:43 - 59:45
James Charles and I want him to die
  • 59:45 - 59:48
    he's disgusting, doesn't mean I hate
  • 59:49 - 59:50
    James Charles."
  • 59:51 - 59:53
Because I said those things, that does
  • 59:53 - 59:54
that not mean that I hate James Charles.
  • 59:55 - 59:56
But my personal favorite part of this
  • 59:57 - 59:58
video is when he says there's no hate in
  • 59:59 - 59:59
    this heart..
  • 59:59 - 60:01
There is no actual hate in this heart.
  • 60:01 - 60:03
He also says that he's not going to give
  • 60:03 - 60:04
    the people what they want.
  • 60:05 - 60:07
He's not going to come out with receipts
  • 60:08 - 60:09
    and cancel anyone today.
  • 60:10 - 60:11
They want me to open up my phone and
  • 60:11 - 60:14
expect me to expose it all.
  • 60:14 - 60:15
He basically says that he was being
  • 60:15 - 60:20
manipulated about James and being fed
  • 60:20 - 60:23
    things that wasn't necessarily true.
  • 60:23 - 60:25
There are people telling me a lot of stuff
  • 60:25 - 60:27
The video ends by him saying that he's
  • 60:27 - 60:28
done with the tea and he's done with the
  • 60:28 - 60:31
drama. He would then precede to have to
  • 60:31 - 60:34
and the Tati and drama for the next like
  • 60:34 - 60:35
four years. And something important to
  • 60:36 - 60:38
note is that during this time, both
  • 60:38 - 60:42
Jeffree and Shane Dodsan were pretty much
  • 60:42 - 60:44
PR nightmares and there was both trying
  • 60:45 - 60:47
to like quickly clean up and do a little
  • 60:48 - 60:51
damage control and fans found resurfaced
  • 60:51 - 60:54
images and videos of them doing various
  • 60:54 - 60:57
problematic things. And, imagine that as
  • 60:57 - 61:00
Jeffree Star's fans are demanding him to
  • 61:00 - 61:02
    take accountability for some old
  • 61:02 - 61:05
problematic stuff. He decides it's time
  • 61:05 - 61:07
to rewrite history a little bit when
  • 61:08 - 61:11
it comes to his loyalty to James Charles.
  • 61:11 - 61:14
Meanwhile, Shane Dolsan was having a
  • 61:14 - 61:17
much harder time dealing with facing
  • 61:17 - 61:20
his actions, because the thing about Shane
  • 61:20 - 61:23
Dolsan is that he crumbles. He crumbles
  • 61:23 - 61:25
    under pressure. Meanwhile, Jeffree
  • 61:25 - 61:27
Star, like I don't want to harm
  • 61:27 - 61:29
psychology him, but he like might actually
  • 61:30 - 61:33
be a psychopath. He is able to lie himself
  • 61:33 - 61:36
out of any situation. Just like that.
  • 61:36 - 61:39
Easy, simple. But this guy having to face
  • 61:39 - 61:41
the ramifications of let's see. Let's
  • 61:41 - 61:43
    check our notes. Umm..
  • 61:43 - 61:45
    Black face. Racist characters.
  • 61:46 - 61:48
Said the n-word. Said very various
  • 61:48 - 61:50
    other slurs. Various instances of
  • 61:50 - 61:54
    sexualizing minors and etc. There
  • 61:55 - 61:56
was so much backlash with this that
  • 61:56 - 61:59
    YouTube temporarily demonatized Shane's
  • 61:59 - 62:01
channel, which is really funny because it
  • 62:02 - 62:04
all comes back to him not being able to
  • 62:04 - 62:06
handle the heat. Like Jeffree Star's
  • 62:06 - 62:09
channel, fine. What did Jeffree Star do?
  • 62:09 - 62:12
A lot. Pretty similar things actually, but
  • 62:12 - 62:14
he could take the heat and so imagine
  • 62:14 - 62:16
you are on your tenth Youtube apology
  • 62:16 - 62:18
pretty much and you have a bunch of
  • 62:18 - 62:20
dirty little bug bites al over your neck
  • 62:20 - 62:22
ok and you have scabies and you're
  • 62:22 - 62:24
    salivating *hag
  • 62:25 - 62:26
I am so sorry that I sexualized Will
  • 62:27 - 62:28
    Smith. Nobody gives a f***!
  • 62:28 - 62:29
    Shane Dolsan f******cry.
  • 62:30 - 62:31
Shane Dolson, that is your mindset ok.
  • 62:32 - 62:33
You are going just a little bit loopy
  • 62:34 - 62:37
already and then June 30th, Tati drops
  • 62:37 - 62:39
a video called "Breaking My Silence".
  • 62:40 - 62:43
And in this video, Tati says that she
  • 62:43 - 62:46
was coerced into making bisister by
  • 62:46 - 62:50
    Shane Dolsan and Jeffree Star.
  • 62:50 - 62:52
I made it as a result of all of the
  • 62:52 - 62:54
poisonous lies that were fed to me by
  • 62:54 - 62:56
    Shane Dawson and Jeffree Star.
  • 62:56 - 63:00
Fuck! This is so Netflix short little
  • 63:00 - 63:02
special coded, limited series. There you
  • 63:03 - 63:04
go! That's the fucking word. So Tati says
  • 63:05 - 63:06
that she's apologized to James Charles
  • 63:07 - 63:09
and that they met up together in private
  • 63:09 - 63:11
and compared screenshots that they have
  • 63:12 - 63:14
    from both Jeffree and Shane
  • 63:14 - 63:16
and come to the conclusion that this
  • 63:17 - 63:18
    whole thing was a mass
  • 63:18 - 63:21
    manipulation from both of them.
  • 63:21 - 63:23
And according to Tati, she learned
  • 63:23 - 63:25
that being friends with Jeffree Star
  • 63:25 - 63:28
is like being friends with a lion.
  • 63:28 - 63:29
I learned that being friends with Jeffree
  • 63:29 - 63:31
Star like being friends with a lion. He
  • 63:32 - 63:33
may have been dangerous but he was always
  • 63:34 - 63:34
    really kind to me.
  • 63:35 - 63:38
Mind you, anybody at any age can be
  • 63:38 - 63:41
manipulated. This is a very true.
  • 63:41 - 63:45
However, in my opinion, there is no way
  • 63:45 - 63:47
that she's not at least partially
  • 63:47 - 63:50
responsible for some of this. And I can't
  • 63:50 - 63:52
stress this enough okay. Don't freak out.
  • 63:52 - 63:54
Don't freak out. Every character in this
  • 63:54 - 63:57
story sucks. We have our main character,
  • 63:57 - 64:00
predator backing in oven. We got racist
  • 64:01 - 64:05
guy #1. We have a racist guy # 2 and at
  • 64:06 - 64:09
least, petty vitamin woman. So on this v
  • 64:09 - 64:11
video Tati makes a series of new claims,
  • 64:12 - 64:15
okay. So, first off, she says that when
  • 64:15 - 64:17
she met Jeffree Star, she knew he had a
  • 64:17 - 64:19
controversial past but that she took it
  • 64:19 - 64:21
among herself to try to make him a better
  • 64:22 - 64:24
person and that get him involved with her
  • 64:24 - 64:27
favorite charity, which did not work. She
  • 64:27 - 64:29
also claims to have known nothing about
  • 64:29 - 64:31
Shane Dawson's past and that she
  • 64:31 - 64:34
did no research on him like all she knew
  • 64:34 - 64:37
that he was the "most adored documentarian
  • 64:37 - 64:38
    on YouTube".
  • 64:38 - 64:40
I wish I had educated myself and I was
  • 64:40 - 64:41
    aware of his earlier content.
  • 64:42 - 64:45
In my opinion, this truly doesn't add up
  • 64:45 - 64:47
because we are talking about Shane *gasp
  • 64:48 - 64:50
Dawson. But anyways, she goes on to say
  • 64:50 - 64:52
that Shane told her that he was making
  • 64:52 - 64:54
a documentary about the beauty community.
  • 64:55 - 64:57
and that it is rapidly developing and
  • 64:57 - 64:59
rapidly changing due to new information
  • 65:00 - 65:02
that Jeffree Star had collected on
  • 65:02 - 65:04
James Charles. She said it was Shane's
  • 65:04 - 65:07
idea to make bisister and even went as
  • 65:07 - 65:09
far as to offer to edit it for her.
  • 65:10 - 65:12
And when Tati hesitated, he sent her
  • 65:12 - 65:15
a voice memo about an alleged victim of
  • 65:15 - 65:15
    James.
  • 65:16 - 65:17
It wasn't enough for me to contact the
  • 65:18 - 65:19
authorities. It was enough to scare me.
  • 65:19 - 65:22
Jeffree and Shane claimed that as soon as
  • 65:22 - 65:24
she posted bisister, a plethora of
  • 65:25 - 65:26
victims were going to come forward.
  • 65:27 - 65:29
But then they never did. Tati goes on
  • 65:29 - 65:31
to theorize that Shane and Jeffree
  • 65:31 - 65:33
    actually orchestrated this whole thing
  • 65:34 - 65:36
as a plot to destroy James because they
  • 65:36 - 65:39
were jealous of his career trajectory and
  • 65:40 - 65:42
they wanted as much attention as possible
  • 65:42 - 65:44
    when they released their collaborative
  • 65:44 - 65:47
palette the "Conspiracy palette". She then
  • 65:47 - 65:49
gets super tin-foiled-atty at the end and
  • 65:50 - 65:51
says that she believes that there were
  • 65:52 - 65:54
    many more players involved to
  • 65:54 - 65:56
orchestrate this whole thing, and that it
  • 65:56 - 65:58
is not a coincidence that after the whole
  • 65:59 - 66:01
fallout, Morphe came out with gummy
  • 66:01 - 66:01
    vitamins.
  • 66:02 - 66:04
I do not think it is a coincidence that
  • 66:04 - 66:05
Morphe is about to launch their own
  • 66:06 - 66:08
brand of hair and nail gummy vitamins.
  • 66:08 - 66:10
I have beef with every single one of
  • 66:10 - 66:11
these people. Like we can grab. I don't
  • 66:12 - 66:14
give a shit. But Tati, even though she is
  • 66:14 - 66:16
not the biggest villain here by far,
  • 66:16 - 66:18
really irks me because I feel like she
  • 66:19 - 66:21
    acted completely out of selfishness.
  • 66:21 - 66:23
I agree that it is plausible to have
  • 66:23 - 66:25
been manipulated by Shane ad Jeffree,
  • 66:26 - 66:28
like especially Jeffree. But if Tati
  • 66:29 - 66:33
truly, truly believed that the allegations
  • 66:33 - 66:34
that Shane and Jeffree were telling her
  • 66:35 - 66:36
were real and that serious, why did she
  • 66:36 - 66:40
make the majority of bisister about gummy
  • 66:40 - 66:42
vitamins? Why did she falsely accuse him
  • 66:42 - 66:44
of sexually harassing waiter amongst other
  • 66:44 - 66:47
    things. Conclusively, the entire video
  • 66:47 - 66:50
was based on somebody else's lies, but
  • 66:50 - 66:53
she double downed on it multiple times
  • 66:53 - 66:55
over the course of several months and
  • 66:56 - 66:58
    holds virtually no accountability for
  • 66:58 - 67:01
causing the cultural switch against James,
  • 67:01 - 67:03
who at this point, she is saying is
  • 67:04 - 67:06
completely innocent. And like above all
  • 67:06 - 67:07
else, I think the biggest issue is the
  • 67:08 - 67:09
fact that she says that there's a voice
  • 67:10 - 67:12
    memo that is damning enough
  • 67:12 - 67:14
    that warranted her going through
  • 67:14 - 67:16
with that public flogging, yet now
  • 67:16 - 67:18
she is saying wait! That wasn't real.
  • 67:19 - 67:20
And the question you might be asking
  • 67:20 - 67:23
right now is what the fuck is in the
  • 67:23 - 67:26
voice memo? Well, it's currently 2024 and
  • 67:27 - 67:29
we still don't have the answer to that.
  • 67:29 - 67:31
But there's been a ton of speculation
  • 67:32 - 67:34
as to who it is. A lot of people theorize
  • 67:35 - 67:36
that it's Grace and Dolan since Jeffree
  • 67:36 - 67:39
made that claim about James molesting
  • 67:40 - 67:41
him in his sleep. People also think this
  • 67:41 - 67:43
because by the cultural shift back to
  • 67:44 - 67:46
liking James, the Dolan twins still
  • 67:47 - 67:48
haven't followed him back or even
  • 67:48 - 67:51
publicly spoke to him but I'm not saying
  • 67:51 - 67:53
that I believe this. This is just a
  • 67:53 - 67:56
theory. I hope that's not true. With
  • 67:56 - 67:58
Jeffree Star though, it is really hard to
  • 67:58 - 68:01
tell what is actually true and
  • 68:01 - 68:03
what's total bunk, because he seems to
  • 68:04 - 68:06
always merge partial truths with lies.
  • 68:07 - 68:10
And so it's like okay, part of this
  • 68:10 - 68:11
could be true but that might not make the
  • 68:11 - 68:13
entire story have validity. But in the
  • 68:14 - 68:16
aftermath of the breaking my silence
  • 68:16 - 68:18
video, Shane Dawson gets on a Intagram
  • 68:18 - 68:20
live stream and starts like tweaking.
  • 68:21 - 68:22
This is insane! This is insane! This
  • 68:22 - 68:25
woman is like a fucking, omg!
  • 68:25 - 68:28
This entire live stream consists of him
  • 68:28 - 68:30
calling Tati a liar and running around
  • 68:31 - 68:33
his house like he just drank iced coffee
  • 68:33 - 68:34
and he has to take a shit.
  • 68:35 - 68:36
    I can't, I can't. I don't want to say mean
  • 68:36 - 68:38
things about people. This is insane.
  • 68:38 - 68:39
    This is insane.
  • 68:39 - 68:41
It's actually hilarious because I love
  • 68:41 - 68:43
shaming Shane Dawson while he's down
  • 68:43 - 68:44
and I would again. For legal purposes this
  • 68:45 - 68:47
is a joke, but I wish that we could
  • 68:47 - 68:49
collectively blast Shane Dawson into the
  • 68:51 - 68:52
sun. James Just responds to all this
  • 68:52 - 68:53
public freaking out that's just a tweet
  • 68:53 - 68:55
    that says "love you guys!"
  • 68:56 - 68:57
    All this same day, Trisha
  • 68:58 - 69:00
also uploaded a video called "Tati's dumb
  • 69:00 - 69:02
as hell" which I only mentioning because
  • 69:03 - 69:05
it is so off the cuff and untethered.
  • 69:06 - 69:07
And to summarize it in one clip:
  • 69:08 - 69:13
"I was beyond gaslit, no we are just
  • 69:13 - 69:14
    stupid".
  • 69:14 - 69:15
In the following days, Morphe cut ties
  • 69:16 - 69:17
    with Jeffree Star.
  • 69:17 - 69:18
Morphe said they made the decision
  • 69:19 - 69:20
to cease all commercial activity related
  • 69:21 - 69:22
to Jeffree Star and related products
  • 69:23 - 69:24
within the coming in the coming weeks.
  • 69:24 - 69:25
And in the April 20th, he would go on
  • 69:26 - 69:28
    mom's basement podcast and reaffirm
  • 69:28 - 69:30
to keep Team Star that James Charles
  • 69:30 - 69:32
is a monster and that he still has the
  • 69:33 - 69:35
voice memo of the alleged victim but
  • 69:35 - 69:37
doesn't want to publicly out them.
  • 69:37 - 69:41
Yet 2 months later, on July 18th, 2020,
  • 69:41 - 69:43
he would release a video called "Doing
  • 69:43 - 69:46
what's right" and in this video Jeffree
  • 69:46 - 69:48
says a whole lot of f***** up.
  • 69:49 - 69:51
He's like "Hey guys, I am not going
  • 69:51 - 69:53
cancel anyone today. Sorry, I am not
  • 69:53 - 69:55
coming in with steaming hot tea today
  • 69:55 - 69:56
    ya'll."
  • 69:56 - 69:58
Today I will not be sitting her showing
  • 69:58 - 70:00
a million texts messages and all these
  • 70:00 - 70:02
things that allegedly are out there.
  • 70:02 - 70:04
He goes on to say that he's done with
  • 70:04 - 70:06
all the drama and that's there bigger
  • 70:07 - 70:09
things in the world to worry about and
  • 70:09 - 70:11
I honestly forgot that this apology
  • 70:12 - 70:15
happened in 2020. So I was sent into a
  • 70:15 - 70:17
whole whiplash when I heard him
  • 70:18 - 70:20
say that we need to focus on Black Lives
  • 70:20 - 70:23
Matter. Okay, back up. We are backing up.
  • 70:24 - 70:27
Jeffree, first of all, you've made a lot
  • 70:28 - 70:29
of claims buddy, and now you are coming
  • 70:30 - 70:32
on your being like sorry, I am not
  • 70:32 - 70:36
involved in any of this drama, "Drama",
  • 70:37 - 70:38
when it is something supposedly serious.
  • 70:39 - 70:40
And then you are deflecting the
  • 70:40 - 70:42
conversation on to Black Lives Matter?
  • 70:42 - 70:46
What? What? He literally uses murdered
  • 70:46 - 70:48
people of color to take the attention off
  • 70:48 - 70:51
of him, making claims that James is
  • 70:51 - 70:52
    a predator.
  • 70:52 - 70:54
Black trans men are being murdered
  • 70:55 - 70:56
every day and the news is silent.
  • 70:56 - 70:58
Like, there are no words to describe this
  • 70:58 - 71:00
chat. Are they words to describe this?
  • 71:00 - 71:01
Are there words for something so
  • 71:02 - 71:03
despicable? James is kind of like a
  • 71:03 - 71:06
predator and a danger to society. But
  • 71:06 - 71:08
that's like drama though. It's kind of
  • 71:08 - 71:10
like "Hi, everybody. Welcome back to my
  • 71:11 - 71:14
    channel". The Freudian Slip. Meanwhile,
  • 71:15 - 71:17
right after this whole Jeffree podcast
  • 71:17 - 71:20
debacle, James Charles goes on impulsive
  • 71:20 - 71:23
which is even Jake Paul's or Logan Paul's
  • 71:24 - 71:26
Podcast. I don't know because I use their
  • 71:26 - 71:28
names interchangeably and I don't know
  • 71:28 - 71:31
who's who but this podcast seems chill
  • 71:31 - 71:34
and it seems inconsequential at first.
  • 71:34 - 71:36
But then James starts dropping bombs
  • 71:37 - 71:39
left and right, like let me show you some
  • 71:39 - 71:42
bullet points of what this man publicly
  • 71:42 - 71:44
admits. A little over an hour into
  • 71:45 - 71:47
the interview, James claims that he is
  • 71:47 - 71:49
far more mature than other people his age.
  • 71:49 - 71:52
By the way, he's currently 21 in this
  • 71:52 - 71:54
interview. Then he then goes on to say
  • 71:54 - 71:57
that he's just not attracted to older
  • 71:57 - 72:00
men and the absolute lowest that he would
  • 72:01 - 72:04
date was either 18 or 19 but looks a
  • 72:04 - 72:06
little bit older and he says the absolute
  • 72:06 - 72:08
    lowest that he would date
  • 72:08 - 72:11
The absolute youngest, like 18, 19, that
  • 72:11 - 72:12
    looks a little bit older.
  • 72:12 - 72:14
This is already more than a little
  • 72:14 - 72:16
questionable, like what is the point of
  • 72:17 - 72:20
dating somebody who is 18 or 19 but
  • 72:21 - 72:23
looks a little bit older. What is the
  • 72:23 - 72:26
point of them being 18 and you just
  • 72:26 - 72:29
said that you are more mature than
  • 72:29 - 72:31
everyone else your age. So, why do you
  • 72:31 - 72:32
want to date somebody more immature.
  • 72:33 - 72:35
But as if that wasn't bad enough, a few
  • 72:35 - 72:37
minutes later he goes on to say something
  • 72:37 - 72:40
even weirder. He says that he tried to
  • 72:41 - 72:42
fly boys out to LA because a lot
  • 72:43 - 72:46
of them don't have any money or they
  • 72:46 - 72:48
are still in high school or I mean a
  • 72:48 - 72:49
    senior in high school.
  • 72:49 - 72:50
Because you can't afford a plane ticket,
  • 72:51 - 72:52
you are probably still in either in high
  • 72:52 - 72:54
school or still in college, a senior in
  • 72:54 - 72:54
    high school or in college.
  • 72:55 - 72:58
Oh, so you really said that. Hmmm, and
  • 72:59 - 73:00
    who makes mistakes like that.
  • 73:00 - 73:03
There's Madeline here who. Who makes
  • 73:03 - 73:04
that kind of mistake and it's a probably
  • 73:05 - 73:09
    a minor. Admitting to outsourcing
  • 73:09 - 73:12
teenagers from other states at the age
  • 73:12 - 73:18
of 21 is crazy. And they didn't even have
  • 73:18 - 73:19
to waterboard that out of him.
  • 73:20 - 73:22
By the way, might I mention that nobody
  • 73:23 - 73:25
had a negative response to this? Like
  • 73:25 - 73:27
the boys on this podcast are just like
  • 73:27 - 73:30
Oh, yeah! Totally! Maybe they just felt
  • 73:30 - 73:33
awkward or wanted to keep the peace. Like
  • 73:33 - 73:35
didn't know what to say. But damn, if that
  • 73:35 - 73:38
was me, I would have a visceral,
  • 73:38 - 73:42
    uncontrollable reaction like what? And
  • 73:42 - 73:44
not to be to be grossed ok. But like
  • 73:44 - 73:46
these bold boys that he's outsourcing are
  • 73:47 - 73:48
are literally the same age as his little
  • 73:49 - 73:51
brother. Like does he see his brother
  • 73:51 - 73:54
as in an equal when it comes to maturity
  • 73:55 - 73:56
and growth. Oh yeah, and last question.
  • 73:57 - 74:00
Have you seen every person on Earth
  • 74:00 - 74:02
that is your same age or a little bit
  • 74:03 - 74:04
older than you. Have you? How have you
  • 74:05 - 74:07
    already determined that you're not
  • 74:07 - 74:09
attracted to people older than you.
  • 74:09 - 74:12
There's people that older than all of
  • 74:12 - 74:15
us that just look youthful. So what is it
  • 74:15 - 74:18
really about, James? The last thing I
  • 74:19 - 74:20
want to say about this interview, because
  • 74:20 - 74:22
I can honestly talk about it forever, is
  • 74:22 - 74:24
that he also claims that he wouldn't date
  • 74:25 - 74:25
    a fan in it.
  • 74:26 - 74:26
    You wouldn't date a fan?
  • 74:27 - 74:27
    No.
  • 74:27 - 74:28
    Just remember that ok?
  • 74:29 - 74:32
On September 1, 2020, James would do a
  • 74:32 - 74:34
collab with Emma Chamberlain, and this was
  • 74:34 - 74:36
the first time that these two would
  • 74:36 - 74:39
reunite since before dramageddon. In an
  • 74:39 - 74:41
interview with the paparazzi, Emma also
  • 74:41 - 74:44
said that her and James weren't in a
  • 74:44 - 74:46
really good place. But when asked about
  • 74:46 - 74:48
the Dolan twins, she basically says
  • 74:48 - 74:49
    "Don't hold your breath".
  • 74:50 - 74:51
With the Dolan twins that if
  • 74:52 - 74:53
everybody can get on the same page?
  • 74:54 - 74:54
    No promises.
  • 74:55 - 74:58
On September 16, 2020, James would have a
  • 74:58 - 75:01
    mini controversy over some allegedly
  • 75:01 - 75:04
stolen designs. Now as you can see here,
  • 75:04 - 75:06
this is a color block, Sister's merch
  • 75:07 - 75:09
hoodie, okay. And now let's compare it
  • 75:09 - 75:11
to a hoodie that was originally designed
  • 75:12 - 75:15
by Teddy Fresh, a.k.a. H Threes brand.
  • 75:15 - 75:18
Well obviously, James' says Sister on the
  • 75:19 - 75:20
front and this one just has like a red
  • 75:21 - 75:22
    square that says the fresh.
  • 75:23 - 75:26
The sweater is the exact color grading.
  • 75:26 - 75:29
Like it's the exact same shades and the
  • 75:29 - 75:31
exact same spots. And when James was
  • 75:31 - 75:33
confronted about this, he said he had
  • 75:33 - 75:35
never heard of their brand before. Despite
  • 75:36 - 75:38
the fact that people were quick to point
  • 75:38 - 75:42
out that one of James' best friends, Lorai
  • 75:42 - 75:45
had pictures in that exact Teddy Fresh
  • 75:46 - 75:48
hoodie on his Instagram and was even
  • 75:49 - 75:51
featured on the Teddy Fresh Instagram
  • 75:51 - 75:54
page. And like, obviously, no one owns
  • 75:54 - 75:56
colors. But the fact that they were the
  • 75:57 - 75:59
exact same shades and the same areas.
  • 76:00 - 76:02
It's just a suspicious set of lace.
  • 76:02 - 76:04
    Also, just generally speaking, James'
  • 76:05 - 76:06
    hoodie is just really ugly.
  • 76:06 - 76:09
In October, James got his very own
  • 76:09 - 76:11
    YouTube original show called Instant
  • 76:12 - 76:14
Influencer and it was a competition where
  • 76:14 - 76:17
    amateur influencers competed for
  • 76:17 - 76:20
    a $10,000 video setup, a collab with
  • 76:20 - 76:23
    James Charles, and $50,000 cash.
  • 76:24 - 76:25
And the sheriff evolved around doing
  • 76:26 - 76:28
    different challenges. One very noteworthy
  • 76:28 - 76:30
one is in episode where they do an
  • 76:31 - 76:32
    apology video challenge.
  • 76:32 - 76:34
I just really want to apologize and I
  • 76:34 - 76:36
    want to change. *Sob Sob
  • 76:36 - 76:38
Just, just terribly ironic and if I
  • 76:39 - 76:41
can be completely honest with you guys
  • 76:41 - 76:45
right now. If I had just one teeny James
  • 76:45 - 76:48
Charles wish on a star. It would be that
  • 76:48 - 76:51
Instant Influencer could come back but
  • 76:51 - 76:53
obviously with a different host, because
  • 76:53 - 76:55
this show is actually good. Like
  • 76:56 - 76:58
literally, YouTube, can we get somebody
  • 76:58 - 77:00
else, literally anybody else to host the
  • 77:00 - 77:02
    show. I've throw a shower. Let's go!
  • 77:03 - 77:03
Of course, I already spoiled this for you
  • 77:05 - 77:06
but the show does not exist anymore.
  • 77:07 - 77:09
And I'm sure you already guessed why.
  • 77:10 - 77:13
In February of 2021, a minor came forward
  • 77:13 - 77:15
and alleged that James asked him for
  • 77:16 - 77:18
totally explicit photos and videos over
  • 77:19 - 77:21
Snapchat. The minor questioned, posted a
  • 77:22 - 77:23
Tik Tok where he explained that he had
  • 77:24 - 77:26
previously dmed James because he was a
  • 77:26 - 77:26
    fan.
  • 77:27 - 77:28
Prove it to you right now. This is the
  • 77:28 - 77:29
notification that I got when he snapchated
  • 77:30 - 77:31
me first and this is further proof that
  • 77:32 - 77:33
he deleted the chat in a way to deleted.
  • 77:33 - 77:35
    That's totally in his Snapchat.
  • 77:35 - 77:36
And so he began sending snaps back and
  • 77:36 - 77:40
forth and one day, James saw that he was
  • 77:40 - 77:42
in the bathroom, so he began making the
  • 77:42 - 77:43
    conversation very sexual.
  • 77:44 - 77:45
So, he started making the conversation
  • 77:46 - 77:47
very and sexual and really got
  • 77:48 - 77:48
    uncomfortable.
  • 77:48 - 77:51
Saying disgusting things like "Take a
  • 77:51 - 77:53
video of yourself in the shower" and "Can
  • 77:53 - 77:56
I see your muscles and hair". He then
  • 77:56 - 77:58
began sending nudes of himself, which
  • 77:58 - 78:00
I cannot show you, but I tell you why
  • 78:00 - 78:03
this. It is very clearly James Charles'
  • 78:03 - 78:06
musty BBL booty. Once he sent these nudes,
  • 78:07 - 78:09
the victim told him that he was only 16,
  • 78:09 - 78:12
to which James allegedly replied, "Oh,
  • 78:12 - 78:14
but I haven't seen your dick yet". Then
  • 78:14 - 78:16
after saying he didn't want to send nudes
  • 78:17 - 78:19
James kept hounding him for them anyways.
  • 78:19 - 78:22
Like, for example, in this screenshot here
  • 78:22 - 78:25
he says, "It would literally take you 30
  • 78:25 - 78:28
seconds to take a pic like this, awww".
  • 78:28 - 78:29
James would later claim that the boy
  • 78:30 - 78:33
told him that he was 18. In a Notes app
  • 78:33 - 78:35
response on Twitter. And until the art in
  • 78:35 - 78:38
lame Twitter notes app thing is that James
  • 78:38 - 78:41
said that the boy messaged him excitedly,
  • 78:41 - 78:44
telling him he loved him. And so, he began
  • 78:44 - 78:47
talking to him without asking for ID.
  • 78:47 - 78:49
And I find this really interesting
  • 78:49 - 78:52
because he just said on the impulsive
  • 78:52 - 78:54
Podcast that he did not want to date a
  • 78:54 - 78:58
fan, but in conclusion he says, "I will
  • 78:58 - 79:00
know be asking everybody for IDs. The
  • 79:00 - 79:02
fact that he's like, I'm still going to
  • 79:02 - 79:05
DM questionably young people but I am
  • 79:05 - 79:07
still going to be asking for IDs now is
  • 79:07 - 79:11
crazy. Also, even if they are 18, like I
  • 79:11 - 79:13
said, seeking out a barely legal
  • 79:14 - 79:18
    18-year-old is creepy. Jeebs!
  • 79:18 - 79:19
How does it make it ok? This is still
  • 79:20 - 79:23
    your teenage 18. That's a teenager fan.
  • 79:23 - 79:27
Also in February, yet another underage
  • 79:27 - 79:30
fan came forward. This time it was a
  • 79:31 - 79:34
14-year-old and he also said that James
  • 79:34 - 79:36
    sent him unsolicited nudes and
  • 79:37 - 79:39
inappropriate videos of himself. This boy
  • 79:39 - 79:40
alleges that he reached out to James
  • 79:41 - 79:44
Charles on a dare, not expecting James
  • 79:44 - 79:46
to answer of course, but when he did,
  • 79:46 - 79:49
he got very excited. Of course, this is
  • 79:50 - 79:52
a famous person so, he wants to talk to
  • 79:52 - 79:54
him. James then added him on Snapchat.
  • 79:54 - 79:55
    Are you seeing a pattern?
  • 79:56 - 79:58
Are you seeing this? He claims that James
  • 79:59 - 80:01
kept pressuring him to come out to LA
  • 80:01 - 80:03
and that he was also trying to get him
  • 80:03 - 80:05
to question his sexuality. And remember
  • 80:06 - 80:08
    that Impulsive Interview?
  • 80:08 - 80:10
Even they confess that they can't afford
  • 80:10 - 80:12
a plane ticket. It's like ok but I can.
  • 80:12 - 80:13
    So, get on the plane.
  • 80:14 - 80:17
Wow, this alleged victim literally thought
  • 80:17 - 80:20
that he was speaking about him in that
  • 80:20 - 80:23
segment. Also, big shout out to Paige
  • 80:24 - 80:27
Christie. I was literally only able to
  • 80:28 - 80:28
find this information from her video. Like
  • 80:29 - 80:29
so much of this has been just like
  • 80:30 - 80:31
scrubbed from the internet, like Big
  • 80:31 - 80:34
Sister is like watching. Trisha Paytas
  • 80:34 - 80:36
replied to this whole situation saying
  • 80:36 - 80:38
like: "I'll say without a shadow of a
  • 80:38 - 80:40
doubt. James Charles in the only creator
  • 80:41 - 80:43
that deserves to be banned and stripped
  • 80:43 - 80:45
from all social platform. He's abusing by
  • 80:45 - 80:48
    sexting with minors!!! Repeated behavior
  • 80:48 - 80:51
happening as recent as a few days ago.
  • 80:51 - 80:54
    This is an actual predator/pedophile.
  • 80:54 - 80:55
I have to say I'm completely agree
  • 80:56 - 80:57
and I don't know if he's the only one,
  • 80:57 - 80:59
But I do completely agree that he should
  • 81:00 - 81:04
not be on Tik Tok or YouTube or Instagram.
  • 81:04 - 81:06
Like, and it just gets worse. On April 1,
  • 81:06 - 81:09
    James would upload "Holding myself
  • 81:09 - 81:11
accountable in response to all of these
  • 81:12 - 81:15
allegations". Yes, it's true he posted a
  • 81:15 - 81:18
response to grooming allegations on April
  • 81:18 - 81:21
1st. Now this video makes me mad from
  • 81:21 - 81:23
beginning to end. He basically says he
  • 81:24 - 81:25
trusted the information that was given
  • 81:26 - 81:28
to him rather than the info that he
  • 81:28 - 81:29
    could've or should've gotten himself.
  • 81:30 - 81:33
And yeah, that's true, but I feel like
  • 81:33 - 81:36
    he's immediately deflecting from the
  • 81:36 - 81:38
fact that even what you thought you were
  • 81:39 - 81:42
doing is wrong. James then goes on to
  • 81:42 - 81:45
list being desperate for the reason for
  • 81:45 - 81:48
why he makes all these dating faux paus.
  • 81:48 - 81:50
And it is ridiculously embarrassing to
  • 81:50 - 81:52
    admit this but I'm desperate.
  • 81:53 - 81:56
And then he starts bracingly lying like
  • 81:57 - 82:01
outright like a dog, lying. He says that I
  • 82:02 - 82:04
will partially quote so that I don't have
  • 82:04 - 82:06
to play like a long clip and get
  • 82:06 - 82:07
    copyrighted or something. It's really
  • 82:07 - 82:09
looking like I'm an actively searching for
  • 82:10 - 82:12
younger people to be in a relationship
  • 82:12 - 82:14
with and that's absolutely not the case.
  • 82:14 - 82:16
My hope is that it always been in
  • 82:16 - 82:17
a relationship with somebody around my
  • 82:17 - 82:18
    age or older.
  • 82:18 - 82:21
Hey, wait a minute! Isn't this the exact
  • 82:22 - 82:24
opposite thing of what you said earlier
  • 82:25 - 82:26
    this year.
  • 82:26 - 82:28
I'm not physically attracted to older
  • 82:28 - 82:29
    guys which sucks.
  • 82:29 - 82:31
He concludes the video with a detailed
  • 82:31 - 82:33
description of how he came to the
  • 82:34 - 82:35
realization that him talking to fans
  • 82:35 - 82:38
created a power imbalance and that from
  • 82:38 - 82:40
the get go he should of never had these
  • 82:40 - 82:41
conversations to begin with because he
  • 82:42 - 82:46
ignored red flags. Wave the red flags is
  • 82:46 - 82:50
IOU. I have to saw is while this apology
  • 82:50 - 82:52
video is definitely not is well received
  • 82:53 - 82:54
and we will talk about it in a second.
  • 82:54 - 82:56
He is pretty clever. I will say that.
  • 82:57 - 83:00
His use of language really disassociates
  • 83:01 - 83:03
himself with the facts of everything. He
  • 83:04 - 83:04
    says, for example.
  • 83:04 - 83:07
And for that, for the example, so, so
  • 83:08 - 83:08
    sorry.
  • 83:09 - 83:11
Okay, these are kids and these are not
  • 83:11 - 83:13
    just victims, they're your victims.
  • 83:14 - 83:16
    Ironically, holding myself accountable
  • 83:16 - 83:19
would later be deleted. Later that month,
  • 83:19 - 83:21
Morphee would release a statement saying
  • 83:21 - 83:23
that they are permanently cutting ties
  • 83:23 - 83:26
with James. But in the eyes of a lot of
  • 83:26 - 83:28
fans, this was too little too late.
  • 83:28 - 83:30
In light of the recent allegations against
  • 83:30 - 83:33
    James Charles, Morphee and James
  • 83:33 - 83:35
have agreed to leave and our business
  • 83:35 - 83:38
relationship and wine down sales of the
  • 83:38 - 83:41
Morphe x James Charles product offering.
  • 83:41 - 83:44
It is and has always been Morphe's goal
  • 83:44 - 83:46
to create a positive, safe and
  • 83:46 - 83:49
empowering space for all beauty lovers can
  • 83:49 - 83:52
freely share their artistry and passion
  • 83:52 - 83:54
for cosmetics. And Morphe is fully
  • 83:55 - 83:57
committed in furthering that goal. I don't
  • 83:57 - 84:00
know too much about PR but fuck all
  • 84:00 - 84:02
if that wasn't really bad. First of all,
  • 84:02 - 84:05
waited weeks to say anything and
  • 84:06 - 84:07
when they finally did, they were
  • 84:08 - 84:11
like we and James have decided to scale
  • 84:12 - 84:15
back. Like, what do you mean we? Fans
  • 84:15 - 84:17
were also quick to point out that all the
  • 84:17 - 84:20
James Charles products were still being
  • 84:20 - 84:23
sold at full price on their website. This
  • 84:23 - 84:25
same week, YouTube announced that they
  • 84:26 - 84:28
    would be temporarily demonetizing James'
  • 84:28 - 84:30
channel and as a result of all this, James
  • 84:31 - 84:33
took a four month break off of social
  • 84:33 - 84:35
media. When he returned he posted a
  • 84:35 - 84:37
selfie on Instagram and announced that he
  • 84:37 - 84:40
just posted a video called "An Open
  • 84:40 - 84:43
Conversation" and I will say that this is
  • 84:43 - 84:47
incredible on brand the worst way. Now the
  • 84:47 - 84:49
comments on "An Open Conversation" are
  • 84:50 - 84:52
so funny and this is this is the first
  • 84:52 - 84:54
time that I have truly felt and notice
  • 84:54 - 84:57
that there were so many people just done
  • 84:57 - 84:59
with him. Like this video only has six
  • 85:00 - 85:01
million views and I know that that's a
  • 85:01 - 85:03
lot still, but in comparison to other
  • 85:04 - 85:06
videos, even such as taking accountability
  • 85:07 - 85:10
there was a huge dip in viewership. And
  • 85:10 - 85:12
these people made the right call for
  • 85:12 - 85:14
    obvious reasons, and were also
  • 85:14 - 85:17
fortunate enough to not bear witness to
  • 85:18 - 85:20
this video turning into a makeup get ready
  • 85:20 - 85:22
with me at the 4 minute mark.
  • 85:22 - 85:24
An you guys know I posted my
  • 85:24 - 85:25
    "Holding Myself Accountable" video.
  • 85:25 - 85:29
    Absolutely dystopian fear. Getting sued!
  • 85:29 - 85:32
In the following month of May, a former
  • 85:32 - 85:35
employee of James, named Kelly Rocklein
  • 85:35 - 85:38
    sued James for wrongful termination.
  • 85:38 - 85:41
And, let me just read you one of these
  • 85:41 - 85:43
headlines so you can get the full gravity
  • 85:43 - 85:44
    of this situation.
  • 85:45 - 85:49
    James Charles' ex-employee speaks out
  • 85:49 - 85:52
about lawsuit, claiming he didn't pay
  • 85:52 - 85:55
overtime and asked her to shave his
  • 85:55 - 85:56
    butt. Ummmmm.
  • 85:57 - 85:59
To get into the nitty gritty, the
  • 86:00 - 86:02
specifics of the suit though, she
  • 86:02 - 86:04
alleges that one, James had her working
  • 86:05 - 86:08
12-hour days, seven days a week. Two,
  • 86:08 - 86:11
that when she was promoted from video
  • 86:11 - 86:13
editor to producer, he didn't hire
  • 86:13 - 86:15
anybody to take over the former
  • 86:15 - 86:18
position, so she was left doing both.
  • 86:19 - 86:20
Three, she was not paid overtime for
  • 86:21 - 86:23
any of this, and four, that she had
  • 86:23 - 86:25
suffered a head injury in front of James
  • 86:25 - 86:27
Charles. To quote this business insider
  • 86:27 - 86:30
article directly, the head injury resulted
  • 86:30 - 86:31
    in her experiencing headaches,
  • 86:31 - 86:33
    temporarily loss of consciousness,
  • 86:34 - 86:37
    confusion, amnesia and other ailments,
  • 86:38 - 86:39
according to the complaint. She alleges
  • 86:39 - 86:41
Charles was not sympathetic to her
  • 86:41 - 86:44
recovery needs and callously accused her
  • 86:45 - 86:47
of not being dedicated to her job as a
  • 86:48 - 86:49
result of her work being delayed when
  • 86:50 - 86:52
she was hospitalized. And right after
  • 86:52 - 86:54
    Kelly returned from being hospitalized,
  • 86:55 - 86:57
she was fired, despite never having
  • 86:58 - 87:00
    received negative feedback. Kelly also
  • 87:00 - 87:03
alleges that James used the n-word in
  • 87:03 - 87:05
front of her with the R & R and everything
  • 87:06 - 87:09
More on the ass situation, Kelly says
  • 87:09 - 87:12
that James walked around the house naked
  • 87:12 - 87:15
and call her names like "bitch" and once
  • 87:15 - 87:18
texted her, "Kelly, I need help shaving
  • 87:18 - 87:21
my butt in preparation for a revealing
  • 87:21 - 87:22
Coachella outfit. James ha since publicly
  • 87:23 - 87:26
denied all of this in a lengthy Twitter
  • 87:26 - 87:26
    video.
  • 87:26 - 87:28
Just the craziest claims you can ever
  • 87:28 - 87:29
    imagine.
  • 87:29 - 87:31
But the suit is still ongoing.
  • 87:31 - 87:34
Although, I will say I can totally see him
  • 87:34 - 87:35
doing all these things. Kelly, get behind
  • 87:36 - 87:39
me. 2022 was a relatively quiet year for
  • 87:39 - 87:42
this MF. Like, his only controversy was
  • 87:42 - 87:45
talking on Instagram and twerking while
  • 87:45 - 87:47
talked which resulted in him losing
  • 87:47 - 87:51
    130,000 followers in a day and I won't
  • 87:51 - 87:53
show you that video here because you don't
  • 87:53 - 87:56
deserve that. Everybody say "Thank you
  • 87:56 - 87:59
Nikki!" And by the way, if you didn't
  • 87:59 - 88:01
unfollow him for the groping but you did
  • 88:01 - 88:03
for the talking and the twerking, I don't
  • 88:03 - 88:05
know. It might be time for me to take
  • 88:05 - 88:06
you out behind the barn and shoot you.
  • 88:06 - 88:09
Since May 6, 2023, Morphe would end up
  • 88:10 - 88:12
closing all of it's stores and this was a
  • 88:13 - 88:15
crazy thing to happen for anybody who was
  • 88:15 - 88:19
really into makeup in 2019 and 2020.
  • 88:19 - 88:22
Like, it was a very popular store to the
  • 88:22 - 88:25
point where it was valued at $2 billion at
  • 88:26 - 88:27
it's peak, but the company had made the
  • 88:28 - 88:30
    unfortunate decision of fully investing
  • 88:31 - 88:33
into James Charles and Jeffree Starr to
  • 88:34 - 88:36
be the focal point of their stores,
  • 88:37 - 88:40
especially James, like seriously I did not
  • 88:40 - 88:43
know what the hell Morphe was before his
  • 88:43 - 88:45
palette. The brand name had kind of become
  • 88:45 - 88:48
synonymous with James, like he was their
  • 88:48 - 88:51
most successful product. In other words,
  • 88:51 - 88:53
James Charles is virtually the reason why
  • 88:54 - 88:57
Morphe died. Like, that is very crazy to
  • 88:57 - 88:59
think about. Bro brought down an entire
  • 88:59 - 89:04
industry. On July 13, 2023, Cosmopolitan
  • 89:04 - 89:06
published an article about James titled
  • 89:06 - 89:08
"James Charles would like to be
  • 89:08 - 89:11
    uncancelled, please". This article, quite
  • 89:12 - 89:14
frankly, is a blasphemous peace of trash.
  • 89:15 - 89:17
Honestly, the woman who wrote it,
  • 89:17 - 89:20
Gabrielle Bluestone should have to serve
  • 89:20 - 89:22
public service for 6 months, just for
  • 89:22 - 89:23
writing this shit, because it is so foul
  • 89:24 - 89:26
you need to picking things up on the
  • 89:26 - 89:28
highway. Get out of here. Let me just
  • 89:29 - 89:30
read you a direct quote from here.
  • 89:30 - 89:32
    It's no surprise that a star's willingness
  • 89:33 - 89:35
to answer any intimate questions about a
  • 89:35 - 89:37
    catastrophic stretch of their lives,
  • 89:37 - 89:40
    including pieces dramatically when they
  • 89:40 - 89:41
have a project to promote. In today's
  • 89:42 - 89:44
case, that is ostensibly Charles' new
  • 89:44 - 89:46
makeup line "Painted". But it's also
  • 89:47 - 89:50
Charles himself. This very interview is to
  • 89:50 - 89:53
be a triplum. It's reception, the answer
  • 89:53 - 89:56
to the question both of us and maybe
  • 89:56 - 89:58
you, too. If what auto-populates in
  • 89:59 - 90:01
Google search can be believed, are here to
  • 90:01 - 90:04
ask, "Is James Charles still cancelled?"
  • 90:05 - 90:08
    So, that alone, basically self-diagnoses
  • 90:08 - 90:11
itself that it purely exists for James to
  • 90:11 - 90:15
win over public brownie points, so that
  • 90:15 - 90:17
his new makeup line can do better.
  • 90:18 - 90:20
Bluestone also writes, "When I pulled
  • 90:20 - 90:22
friends and colleagues about Charles in
  • 90:23 - 90:25
the run-up to this state, the general
  • 90:25 - 90:27
consensus was that he had done
  • 90:27 - 90:29
something bad, but no one was clear on
  • 90:30 - 90:33
exactly what. This to me feels like her
  • 90:33 - 90:36
claiming that these random civilians in
  • 90:36 - 90:38
her office not knowing what James Charles
  • 90:38 - 90:41
did is evidence that he hasn't done
  • 90:41 - 90:45
anything that serious or at least less
  • 90:45 - 90:47
serious than people are making it out to
  • 90:47 - 90:49
be. Would is a real logical hootenanny,
  • 90:49 - 90:51
I tell you that. The article then goes on
  • 90:51 - 90:55
to say the wildest like, like...
  • 90:56 - 90:58
My cat's looking at me. He's more cautious
  • 90:59 - 91:02
now, although not so much that he's giving
  • 91:02 - 91:05
up on the DM sliding completely. Instead,
  • 91:05 - 91:08
    he started requiring potential romantic
  • 91:08 - 91:11
interests to provide ids before he'll
  • 91:11 - 91:14
engage. I'm a club bouncer at this point,
  • 91:14 - 91:16
he says, which even still hasn't stopped
  • 91:17 - 91:19
    the occasional breach of trust.
  • 91:19 - 91:21
Earlier this year, a TikTok user shared
  • 91:22 - 91:24
snippets of a flirtatious conversation he
  • 91:24 - 91:27
had with Charles and which outlines his
  • 91:27 - 91:29
    requirements for a boyfriend. Charles
  • 91:29 - 91:31
also tells me he recently caught a
  • 91:31 - 91:34
17-year-old trying to lie about his age by
  • 91:34 - 91:37
taking out a digit on his ID. And when she
  • 91:37 - 91:40
asked James why, he wouldn't just use a
  • 91:40 - 91:43
regular dating app to find a partner, he
  • 91:43 - 91:44
basically says that he feels to exposed
  • 91:45 - 91:47
on apps and that anybody can take a screen
  • 91:47 - 91:50
shot of his profile and brag and tell
  • 91:50 - 91:53
their friends about it. Ummm and ahhh,
  • 91:53 - 91:54
but ummm, I don't know how to say this
  • 91:54 - 91:58
nicely so, Are you stupid? How is talking
  • 91:58 - 92:01
to people on social media any less risky
  • 92:01 - 92:04
than using a dating app. The article just
  • 92:04 - 92:07
got done saying that somebody leaked a
  • 92:07 - 92:10
private DM on to the internet that was
  • 92:10 - 92:11
from Instagram. It wasn't from a dating
  • 92:12 - 92:14
app. It's also from a dating app you can
  • 92:14 - 92:17
instantly verify like somebody's age. You
  • 92:17 - 92:19
can investigate whether or not there are
  • 92:19 - 92:21
catfish. You can investigate their social
  • 92:21 - 92:24
media, if they have a link to the profile.
  • 92:24 - 92:27
And so, at this point, I really have no
  • 92:28 - 92:30
choice to assume that this isn't just
  • 92:30 - 92:33
    stupidity. It's malicious. Because you
  • 92:33 - 92:37
know who's not on dating apps? Minors!
  • 92:37 - 92:41
In September of 2023, James was seen
  • 92:41 - 92:44
    asking for a 17-year-old's age on a
  • 92:44 - 92:46
TikTok live stream. And I mean, do I even
  • 92:47 - 92:48
have to say anything? This is a direct
  • 92:49 - 92:52
result of the same repeated behavior over
  • 92:52 - 92:54
and over again. I found this clip from
  • 92:54 - 92:56
Frenemies of all places that kind of
  • 92:56 - 92:58
perfectly summarizes how I feel about
  • 92:58 - 92:59
    this.
  • 92:59 - 93:00
Because you know what? These people
  • 93:00 - 93:01
who are sick like this? They keep doing
  • 93:01 - 93:03
it, but sick people can't help themselves
  • 93:04 - 93:04
    but do it again.
  • 93:04 - 93:07
A normal person would have stopped. A
  • 93:08 - 93:10
    predator cannot help themselves.
  • 93:10 - 93:14
In January of 2024, another boy would
  • 93:15 - 93:17
come forward with claims that James had
  • 93:17 - 93:19
talked to him inappropriately while he was
  • 93:19 - 93:22
a minor, and this boy actually has a
  • 93:22 - 93:25
screen shot of James sliding in his DMs
  • 93:25 - 93:28
    and saying "Age Check!".
  • 93:28 - 93:31
He dmmed me that and I responded and I
  • 93:31 - 93:33
    said, " I am a very mature 16."
  • 93:33 - 93:35
And, something that made me very sad
  • 93:35 - 93:38
about this TikTok, where he talks about
  • 93:38 - 93:40
    all the inappropriate conversations that
  • 93:40 - 93:42
they had was that had he says "I know
  • 93:42 - 93:44
I shouldn't have been talking to him like
  • 93:44 - 93:46
that. I know I had no business talking to
  • 93:46 - 93:46
    him like this.
  • 93:47 - 93:48
Now I understand, right off the bat,
  • 93:49 - 93:50
I shouldn't be talking like that or
  • 93:50 - 93:52
    chatting to like entice them.
  • 93:52 - 93:55
It is just self-blaming of it all. It's
  • 93:55 - 93:58
just.. It's said. Please allow me to just
  • 93:58 - 94:01
like armchair/psychology this man for a
  • 94:01 - 94:03
moment. James keeps getting himself into
  • 94:03 - 94:07
these situations, right? And he blames it
  • 94:07 - 94:09
on the fact that he can't meet people and
  • 94:09 - 94:11
the way normal people can, but
  • 94:12 - 94:15
riddle me this? Why is he the only person
  • 94:15 - 94:17
with this problem. Like, do you know
  • 94:18 - 94:21
how many gay influencers are in L.A. that
  • 94:22 - 94:23
do not have this issue? Do you know how
  • 94:23 - 94:26
many people, in general, just don't have
  • 94:26 - 94:29
this issue? And I think what makes James
  • 94:29 - 94:34
especially dangerous to be online is that
  • 94:34 - 94:37
when he talks, he doesn't seem like a
  • 94:37 - 94:41
    manipulative monster. Quite the contrary,
  • 94:41 - 94:44
actually. He's very well put together. He
  • 94:44 - 94:46
can seem fun. He can seem creative and I
  • 94:47 - 94:48
feel that that leaves his audience extra
  • 94:49 - 94:51
susceptible to him. And to be honest at
  • 94:52 - 94:54
this point, I think the only people that
  • 94:55 - 94:57
start to watch him are younger teens that
  • 94:57 - 95:00
just genuinely don't even know any of
  • 95:00 - 95:02
    this happened. James literally committed
  • 95:03 - 95:07
a crime and he's not in jail. So, saying
  • 95:07 - 95:11
that he should leave all social media is a
  • 95:11 - 95:15
very light, light sentence. Like, my
  • 95:15 - 95:16
brother in Christ, he should be in jail,
  • 95:17 - 95:19
but he can't even do that and he's still
  • 95:19 - 95:21
using social media the same way that
  • 95:21 - 95:23
he's always has, as if none of this even
  • 95:24 - 95:26
happened. It's ridiculous and as of was,
  • 95:27 - 95:31
I can't help but wonder why with people.
  • 95:31 - 95:34
I desperately want answers where there
  • 95:34 - 95:38
are none like all of the time. And so when
  • 95:38 - 95:41
it comes to people like James, I look at
  • 95:41 - 95:42
pictures of them from when they were
  • 95:43 - 95:45
younger. I think about how in this video.
  • 95:46 - 95:49
James is just a few years younger than
  • 95:49 - 95:51
somebody who he would prey on. It's so
  • 95:52 - 95:54
disturbing that it almost makes me feel
  • 95:54 - 95:56
bad for the person, because they
  • 95:57 - 96:01
live as a piece of shit every day. To me,
  • 96:01 - 96:04
to be so schemey and strange and creepy
  • 96:04 - 96:07
seems very tiring. And this is just
  • 96:07 - 96:10
a side tangent, but I always think about,
  • 96:10 - 96:13
as somebody who has been through grooming,
  • 96:13 - 96:15
is like no matter what, I would always
  • 96:15 - 96:19
choose to be the victim rather than be
  • 96:20 - 96:22
the person that hurts people. That's
  • 96:22 - 96:24
just some food for thought. Like the idea
  • 96:24 - 96:27
of being this person is ewwww!
  • 96:27 - 96:30
That is about all I have for today though.
  • 96:30 - 96:32
That is about all i can stomach.
  • 96:32 - 96:35
Ummm, thank you so much for watching and
  • 96:35 - 96:37
if you would like to see more videos, like
  • 96:37 - 96:40
in this format, that would be cool.
  • 96:40 - 96:42
I really do like, like putting together
  • 96:42 - 96:43
all these slide shows. Big thank you
  • 96:44 - 96:46
to my patrons! You guys are awesome!
  • 96:46 - 96:49
I appreciate you so much and it is
  • 96:49 - 96:51
actually, really wonderful to see so many
  • 96:52 - 96:54
    people connect into a little
  • 96:54 - 96:56
community and the discord. You guys
  • 96:56 - 96:58
are amazing. Before we go though, I also
  • 96:58 - 97:00
did want to talk a little bit about
  • 97:00 - 97:03
    a fundraiser that I started about 2
  • 97:03 - 97:05
    weeks ago, called "Creators for
  • 97:05 - 97:07
    Palestine". This fundraiser is now
  • 97:08 - 97:11
comprised of over a hundred creators and
  • 97:12 - 97:16
we have so far raised over $700,000 for
  • 97:17 - 97:20
    Palestinian relief, which is insane.
  • 97:20 - 97:23
Um, I did not expect this many amazing
  • 97:23 - 97:26
people to get involved for us to actually
  • 97:26 - 97:30
have a goal this large. Um, if you
  • 97:31 - 97:32
like to support us, we are actually doing
  • 97:32 - 97:36
a huge live stream on Thursday, the 30th.
  • 97:36 - 97:38
I believe this video is coming out on a
  • 97:38 - 97:41
Monday so this is just a few days away.
  • 97:41 - 97:43
If you want to show your support, sharing,
  • 97:43 - 97:46
or donating, that would be amazing.
  • 97:47 - 97:48
Thank you so much for taking that time to
  • 97:48 - 97:49
listen to me and, um, I will see you guys
  • 97:50 - 97:53
    very soon.
