-
0:15 - 0:19I don't know about you, but
-
0:19 - 0:21I'm trying to get this beach body,
-
0:21 - 0:23that P90X,
-
0:23 - 0:25Brad Pitt,
-
0:25 - 0:27Bradley Cooper,
-
0:27 - 0:29Tyrese,
-
0:29 - 0:32Trey Songz,
-
0:32 - 0:35Matthew McConaughey
-
0:35 - 0:36beach body!
-
0:36 - 0:38I'm trying to sweat in front of everybody.
-
0:38 - 0:39Word.
-
0:39 - 0:42And get that shorty with them Angelina Jolie lips
-
0:42 - 0:44to lick my torso,
-
0:44 - 0:46get me looking like a wet chocolate.
-
0:46 - 0:48Look at my biceps.
-
0:48 - 0:51They're kind of puny.
-
0:51 - 0:52They're kind of chunky.
-
0:52 - 0:54But I've been working on them.
-
0:54 - 0:55We can be models.
-
0:55 - 0:58I could take off my shirt mad sexy.
-
0:58 - 0:59I could stare at a camera intensely
-
0:59 - 1:01for 37 seconds straight and not blink.
-
1:01 - 1:03I could bathe in baby oil.
-
1:03 - 1:05I could run on the beach in slow motion.
-
1:05 - 1:10I could cat walk down a runway in zebra panties.
-
1:10 - 1:13I can't do that.
-
1:13 - 1:15Having a slow metabolism ruins everything.
-
1:15 - 1:17All my friends will be in tank tops,
-
1:17 - 1:18and I'll be in a hoodie.
-
1:18 - 1:20I'm good at zipping up my insecurities,
-
1:20 - 1:21thinking I could sweat them out.
-
1:21 - 1:24I'm trying to get this beach body!
-
1:24 - 1:25I'm too skinny.
-
1:25 - 1:28I guzzle junk food like my mouth's a garbage chute,
-
1:28 - 1:30but my intestines are allergic to trans fat.
-
1:30 - 1:32I want to be a flexing horse leg,
-
1:32 - 1:35galloping beach sand into a red carpet,
-
1:35 - 1:37customized for me
-
1:37 - 1:38to strut the shore side
-
1:38 - 1:40like a centaur on a conveyor belt.
-
1:40 - 1:43I'm trying to get this beach body,
-
1:43 - 1:45but there is salvation in snack closets,
-
1:45 - 1:46on licked plates of seconds,
-
1:46 - 1:49at the bottom of a pint of ice cream.
-
1:49 - 1:51I use Haagen Dazs as a morphine cylinder
-
1:51 - 1:55because she said my arms weren't strong enough to carry her.
-
1:55 - 1:57I think I'm weak.
-
1:57 - 1:59I think I'm fat.
-
1:59 - 2:00I think I'm ugly.
-
2:00 - 2:02The beach is no place for a whale like me,
-
2:02 - 2:05for a mini van with its tank on E.
-
2:05 - 2:07I want to be Baywatch bareable,
-
2:07 - 2:11broken, bottle-cut, have you seen my muscles
-
2:11 - 2:12and my scars?
-
2:14 - 2:17You smell that?
-
2:17 - 2:18That's macho moisture.
-
2:18 - 2:21My hour-long work out routine consists of
-
2:21 - 2:235 minutes of push-ups on my bedroom floor,
-
2:23 - 2:26a denial mirror repelling my lanky limbs;
-
2:26 - 2:295 minutes of keeping my chin high over the bar of self doubt;
-
2:29 - 2:3110 minutes placing 100 pounds of failure on my chest
-
2:31 - 2:33so it becomes the elephant in the room;
-
2:33 - 2:3410 minutes jogging with ghosts
-
2:34 - 2:36chuckling at my chunky thighs,
-
2:36 - 2:37and I'll smile,
-
2:37 - 2:40knowing I'll soon be able to fit in my old butt pants;
-
2:40 - 2:4430 minutes thinking sweat is a masculinity cloak.
-
2:44 - 2:47And I'm weary from trying to work out my irrational fears,
-
2:47 - 2:49drown them in a puddle of perspiration,
-
2:49 - 2:52shove the imperfections I should be proud of under water:
-
2:52 - 2:54my gap-tooth smile,
-
2:54 - 2:55my frizzy hair,
-
2:55 - 2:56my funny shaped head,
-
2:56 - 2:58the extra weight that kept me grounded,
-
2:58 - 2:59the missing pounds that make me
-
2:59 - 3:02a kite flailing free through the wind,
-
3:02 - 3:04not bound by muscle.
-
3:04 - 3:06So, yes,
-
3:06 - 3:08I'm trying to get this beach body,
-
3:08 - 3:10that Channing Tatum,
-
3:10 - 3:10David Beckham,
-
3:10 - 3:14LL Cool J
-
3:14 - 3:17beach body!
-
3:17 - 3:19But we're tired
-
3:19 - 3:20and exhausted
-
3:20 - 3:24from trying to be something we're not.
