Not Synced
Dear respected Thay,
-
Not Synced
Dear noble community
-
Not Synced
Dear young ones
-
Not Synced
Thank you for practicing
-
Not Synced
Did you enjoy practicing?
-
Not Synced
So nice to see you
you can sit still huh?
-
Not Synced
I used to practice in monastery called
Deer Park Monastery
-
Not Synced
in southern California
-
Not Synced
it is in America
-
Not Synced
And the monastery there
is in the mountain
-
Not Synced
high up in the mountain
-
Not Synced
you have to drive a long road
up the mountain
-
Not Synced
once you are up the mountain
-
Not Synced
you have to drive down to valley
-
Not Synced
that's where the monastery is
-
Not Synced
It's called the hidden mountain
-
Not Synced
Deer Park Monastery in the hidden mountain
-
Not Synced
Because from the city you can not see the
monastery
-
Not Synced
Because it's kind of like in the valley
of the mountain
-
Not Synced
And in that mountain used to live
native Americans
-
Not Synced
You know native Americans
-
Not Synced
the ones that live in America
before the europeans came
-
Not Synced
and other people came
-
Not Synced
and we found big rocks in the mountain
that have little holes in them
-
Not Synced
and they make the holes like that
-
Not Synced
and put acorn from the oak trees
-
Not Synced
you can find some in the oak tree
forest here
-
Not Synced
and the acorn they put in the hole
-
Not Synced
and they grind it up with a stone
-
Not Synced
and they make like a paste
-
Not Synced
it is kind of like a bread
-
Not Synced
long time ago
-
Not Synced
before they know how to baking
-
Not Synced
and you know ovens and stuff
-
Not Synced
They make these acorn powder
-
Not Synced
and they soak it in the river first
-
Not Synced
and then they make this paste
-
Not Synced
and they eat it
-
Not Synced
it is kind of like musli
-
Not Synced
or kind of like rice pudding
-
Not Synced
so there is where we find many boulders
-
Not Synced
and they have a lot of holes in them
-
Not Synced
and you can tell this is where
the kitchen is
-
Not Synced
because you know you can see
-
Not Synced
you sit there you can imagine
-
Not Synced
must have been a lot of people
living here
-
Not Synced
cause they have many holes
in the rocks
-
Not Synced
and I bet you like they were
-
Not Synced
mothers, grandmothers, young boys
and young girls
-
Not Synced
kind of helping their grandma
-
Not Synced
grinding the acorn
-
Not Synced
sometime I climb the mountain
-
Not Synced
I sit there with in a boulder
-
Not Synced
and I imagine I am a indian boy
-
Not Synced
and I sit peacefully for them
-
Not Synced
The energy is still there
-
Not Synced
sometime I go through the forest
-
Not Synced
and I pretend like I am
an indian boy
-
Not Synced
and I go explore
-
Not Synced
And sometimes I find out where
the coyote is
-
Not Synced
in the hidden mountain there is
also living
-
Not Synced
You know what a coyote is
-
Not Synced
They make like this wild crazy sound
-
Not Synced
They live with us in Deer Park
-
Not Synced
and sometimes I am lucky
-
Not Synced
and I go and I explore
-
Not Synced
and you can find their trails
-
Not Synced
and you can find little places
-
Not Synced
where they sleep
-
Not Synced
because they put the grass and
-
Not Synced
you can see it is kind of like a little
nest
-
Not Synced
and you can see where the shape maybe
the coyote lay down
-
Not Synced
and those really the part of
native culture
-
Not Synced
they really had connection with
the coyotes
-
Not Synced
and at nighttime sometime when the
monks invite the temple bell
-
Not Synced
you know the big temple bell
-
Not Synced
and before they invite it they
have to wake up the big temple bell
-
Not Synced
bong bong
-
Not Synced
and the coyotes start to call
-
Not Synced
and you really smile before you even get
-
Not Synced
to chant the coyote chant already
-
Not Synced
and it makes you feel you are so
connected
-
Not Synced
like they are singing with you
-
Not Synced
and only one pack sometime
-
Not Synced
there is another pack on the other valley
-
Not Synced
and they start to answer
-
Not Synced
you sit there and you feel like you are
-
Not Synced
connected to all of the nature and
forest there
-
Not Synced
This is environment I grew up as a monk
-
Not Synced
and I was very close to the mountain
-
Not Synced
It is a very beautiful mountain with
a lot of boulders
-
Not Synced
they look like giant potatoes
