9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Dear respected Thay, 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Dear noble community 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Dear young ones 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Thank you for practicing 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Did you enjoy practicing? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 So nice to see you[br]you can sit still huh? 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I used to practice in monastery called [br]Deer Park Monastery 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in southern California 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 it is in America[br] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And the monastery there [br]is in the mountain 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 high up in the mountain 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 you have to drive a long road[br]up the mountain 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 once you are up the mountain 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 you have to drive down to valley 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 that's where the monastery is 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It's called the hidden mountain 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Deer Park Monastery in the hidden mountain 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Because from the city you can not see the [br]monastery 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 Because it's kind of like in the valley [br]of the mountain 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And in that mountain used to live[br]native Americans 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 You know native Americans 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 the ones that live in America[br]before the europeans came 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and other people came 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and we found big rocks in the mountain[br]that have little holes in them 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and they make the holes like that 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and put acorn from the oak trees 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 you can find some in the oak tree [br]forest here 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and the acorn they put in the hole 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and they grind it up with a stone 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and they make like a paste 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 it is kind of like a bread[br] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 long time ago 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 before they know how to baking 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and you know ovens and stuff 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They make these acorn powder 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and they soak it in the river first 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and then they make this paste 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and they eat it 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 it is kind of like musli 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 or kind of like rice pudding 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 so there is where we find many boulders 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and they have a lot of holes in them 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and you can tell this is where [br]the kitchen is 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 because you know you can see 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 you sit there you can imagine 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 must have been a lot of people[br]living here 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 cause they have many holes [br]in the rocks 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and I bet you like they were 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 mothers, grandmothers, young boys[br]and young girls 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 kind of helping their grandma 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 grinding the acorn 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 sometime I climb the mountain 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 I sit there with in a boulder 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and I imagine I am a indian boy 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and I sit peacefully for them 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 The energy is still there 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 sometime I go through the forest 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and I pretend like I am [br]an indian boy 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and I go explore 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 And sometimes I find out where[br]the coyote is 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 in the hidden mountain there is[br]also living 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 You know what a coyote is 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They make like this wild crazy sound 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 They live with us in Deer Park 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and sometimes I am lucky 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and I go and I explore 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and you can find their trails 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and you can find little places 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 where they sleep 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 because they put the grass and 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 you can see it is kind of like a little[br]nest 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and you can see where the shape maybe[br]the coyote lay down 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and those really the part of [br]native culture 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they really had connection with [br]the coyotes 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and at nighttime sometime when the[br]monks invite the temple bell 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 you know the big temple bell 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and before they invite it they[br]have to wake up the big temple bell 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 bong bong 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and the coyotes start to call 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and you really smile before you even get [br] 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 to chant the coyote chant already 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and it makes you feel you are so [br]connected 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 like they are singing with you 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and only one pack sometime 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 there is another pack on the other valley 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and they start to answer 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 you sit there and you feel like you are 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 connected to all of the nature and [br]forest there 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 This is environment I grew up as a monk 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 and I was very close to the mountain 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 It is a very beautiful mountain with [br]a lot of boulders 9:59:59.000,9:59:59.000 they look like giant potatoes
