December 24 - I'm a King's Kid
-
0:05 - 0:07We started in our garage,
-
0:07 - 0:10but we’ve kind of progressed to a studio
-
0:10 - 0:12that over the last eight years
we’ve built up, -
0:12 - 0:16and it’s servicing us
very well at the moment! -
0:19 - 0:21Kimberly and Robert were called by God
-
0:21 - 0:24to do media ministry
for children in Australia. -
0:24 - 0:25At the time,
-
0:25 - 0:27Kimberly started writing songs,
-
0:27 - 0:31and Robert was working at
Sanitarium Health Food Company. -
0:31 - 0:35One day as Robert was working,
God revealed a plan! -
0:35 - 0:37God spoke to me in the oven and said,
-
0:38 - 0:41“Look, I’ve got this
ministry for you guys. -
0:42 - 0:47I want you to not just do songs,
but media.” -
0:49 - 0:51He also said that this house,
-
0:51 - 0:54the house that I actually grew up in
but wasn’t living in at the time, -
0:54 - 0:57was going to be
the headquarters in the future. -
0:58 - 0:59I came home and told Kimberly,
-
0:59 - 1:02and she said, “I’m not
living in that house. -
1:02 - 1:05But they felt impressed
to follow God's will. -
1:05 - 1:07They moved in, built a studio,
-
1:07 - 1:09and now, after many challenges,
-
1:09 - 1:13run a fully operational
children’s media ministry. -
1:13 - 1:17The King’s Kids program began
at the beginning of the pandemic, -
1:17 - 1:19As churches closed their doors,
-
1:19 - 1:22there was a need for more
children’s programming. -
1:22 - 1:25Within a week of their
first brainstorming meeting, -
1:25 - 1:29a small team recorded
the first episode of King’s Kids! -
1:30 - 1:33They have continued to put out
an episode every week since, -
1:33 - 1:38focused on discipleship and based
on the Primary Sabbath School lesson. -
1:38 - 1:41They’ve produced more than 100 episodes!
-
1:44 - 1:45If you came to our house,
-
1:45 - 1:47you would see it’s been
converted into a studio. -
1:48 - 1:50We have a control room,
-
1:50 - 1:52a studio, which is where we are
at the moment, -
1:52 - 1:54we have hundreds of puppets,
-
1:54 - 1:56and lots of characters,
lots of children, -
1:56 - 2:00and a lot of people that are helping
to support and be a part of this project. -
2:00 - 2:02Getting right to the heart of families,
-
2:02 - 2:04and how we can connect them
-
2:04 - 2:06and develop their relationship
with Christ. -
2:07 - 2:09Kimberly and Rob
show that in everything they do, -
2:09 - 2:11in the way they treat us
as their staff, -
2:11 - 2:12in the way they support us,
-
2:12 - 2:15and in the way we challenge each other
-
2:15 - 2:17to move forward with the projects
that we’re working on. -
2:18 - 2:21The feedback has been
overwhelmingly positive, -
2:21 - 2:24and now God has put
a new project on their hearts. -
2:25 - 2:27The King’s Kids program
that we’re currently producing -
2:27 - 2:28is a real discipleship one,
-
2:28 - 2:31which is trying to make
a difference to children -
2:32 - 2:33that already know something about God.
-
2:33 - 2:36But there’s a project
that we’re working on -
2:36 - 2:38and developing at the
moment called, “The Rescue” -
2:38 - 2:41which is going to be
a real evangelistic project -
2:41 - 2:43for children and families
that don’t know about God, -
2:43 - 2:45that haven’t been brought up in church,
-
2:45 - 2:47that don’t know about Jesus,
-
2:47 - 2:50and the only time they’ve heard
about God is in slang language. -
2:51 - 2:53They’re the ones
that we really want to reach. -
2:54 - 2:56What we’ll be doing is
taking the story of salvation -
2:56 - 2:59and looking at God as the rescuer,
-
2:59 - 3:01somebody who sees us,
who loves us, -
3:01 - 3:02and has a plan for us,
-
3:02 - 3:04and how throughout time,
-
3:04 - 3:08He has laid out this plan
to come and rescue His people. -
3:08 - 3:10This project is something
-
3:10 - 3:13that will be available free
on multiple platforms. -
3:14 - 3:15We’re really hoping to reach out
-
3:15 - 3:17and connect with families
across the world. -
3:18 - 3:19This quarter,
-
3:19 - 3:22a portion of your 13th Sabbath Offering
-
3:22 - 3:25will help support the creation
of The Rescue, -
3:25 - 3:28a three season series
that travels through time -
3:28 - 3:32and focuses on different aspects
of The Great Controversy, -
3:32 - 3:35and how God has intervened
to rescue His people. -
3:35 - 3:37There’s so much behind-the-scenes work
-
3:37 - 3:39that is put into a project like this.
-
3:40 - 3:43It’s been a huge step of faith
all the way through. -
3:43 - 3:44Sometimes we’re not quite sure
-
3:44 - 3:46where the next bit of
funding is going to come from, -
3:46 - 3:48where the next bit of equipment
is going to come from. -
3:48 - 3:53The extra puppets, the sets,
the design, cameras, lighting. -
3:53 - 3:55There’s so much involved.
-
3:55 - 4:00That’s what we need to continue
to produce high-quality kids’ content. -
4:01 - 4:04Without the help of people like yourself,
-
4:04 - 4:07that wouldn’t happen
as well as it does. -
4:07 - 4:11We need everybody to jump in behind us
-
4:11 - 4:14and to support us with your funds,
with your offerings. -
4:15 - 4:19Thank you for planning a generous
13th Sabbath Offering this quarter -
4:19 - 4:21that will help share the love of Jesus
-
4:21 - 4:25with kids across the South Pacific
and around the world!
