Carrey: The other thing I like to
tune in on every once in a while
-
is "CSI: Miami" and David Caruso.
-
Letterman: It's very good, isn't it?
-
Carrey: I love to see him
put the button on those scenes.
-
Letterman: What do
you mean by that?
-
Carrey: It's the buttoner;
it's the scene buttoner!
-
Letterman: This is another little
acting insight, isn't it?
-
Carrey: Absolutely!
-
Letterman: All right.
-
Carrey: Yes. He loves to
put the button on it,
-
and then he just walks away.
-
Letterman: Yeah.
-
Carrey: He doesn't wait
for anybody to retort, you know?
-
Letterman: Right.
-
Carrey: I think he's afraid
they might have a comeback.
-
Letterman: Mm-hmm.
[audience laughing]
-
Carrey: So he just puts the
button on the scene.
-
He always, uh--
I brought my glasses.
-
Uh, you know, can I do him
for you a little bit?
-
Letterman: Oh please,
I wish you would.
-
Carrey: Okay, just a little bit of--
-
[audience clapping and cheering]
-
Carrey: You get a nice
real intense closeup here.
-
Letterman: Mm-hmm, yeah.
-
Carrey: Okay, David Caruso's time.
-
[Audience laughing]
-
"Well, I guess we've--" [pauses dramatically]
"--found our man."
-
[audience laughing]
[♪]
-
Letterman: [Clapping]
Good. Very powerful!
-
Carrey: He used to
be an English teacher.
-
Letterman: Uh-huh.
[Laughing]
-
[audience laughing]
-
Carrey: "I before E--" [pauses dramatically]
"--except after C."
-
[♪]
-
Letterman: Very nice.
-
Carrey: I hear he's doing
cartoon voice-overs.
-
Letterman: Cartoon voice-overs!
I wonder what that would be like.
-
[Audience laughing]
-
Carrey: "I did . . . I did . . . [pauses dramatically]
I did tee a putty-tat."
-
[Audience laughing]
-
[♪]
-
[Audience applauding]
Man: Oh yeah! Whooo!
