How to help this channel grow (and why you should)

  • 0:00 - 0:01
    Hi everyone,
  • 0:01 - 0:02
    and welcome to my video
  • 0:02 - 0:06
on how you can help this channel grow
    and why.
  • 0:06 - 0:09
    Now, before we get going,
I'm going to ask you all
  • 0:09 - 0:12
to hit like, and share this video
    with anyone who you feel
  • 0:12 - 0:14
is going to be interested in it,
  • 0:14 - 0:18
    as well as to squish
    that bell notification icon,
  • 0:18 - 0:20
    right after petting
    the subscription button
  • 0:20 - 0:22
so we can see more of each other
  • 0:22 - 0:24
    and that's the obvious way
    to help this channel grow,
  • 0:24 - 0:26
but that's not why I'm making this video.
  • 0:26 - 0:29
    Unfortunately, pets don't come
with a manual when we get them
  • 0:29 - 0:32
    and there's no real education
    for pet owners,
  • 0:32 - 0:35
although I am working on a series
of online courses for pet owners
  • 0:35 - 0:38
that I hope would provide that,
but those are at least a year out
  • 0:38 - 0:41
    from being completed,
so for now, there's nothing like that.
  • 0:41 - 0:44
Most of us just get a pet
and we rely on what we learn
  • 0:44 - 0:46
from our parents, from our childhood,
    or from the internet
  • 0:46 - 0:47
on how to take care of them.
  • 0:47 - 0:51
    Now, the TLDR version
is I started a clips channel
  • 0:51 - 0:56
we're are going to go short videos,
clips from my longer form content
  • 0:56 - 1:01
as well as some original cute cats
    and stuff called HVVet clips
  • 1:01 - 1:03
and the link to it is
    in the description below,
  • 1:03 - 1:07
so please go ahead and click on that
and hit subscribe to that channel,
  • 1:07 - 1:10
    hit the bell notification icon,
    like the videos on it
  • 1:10 - 1:13
    and help me kickstart it
    so that the YouTube algorithm
  • 1:13 - 1:14
    can take it from there.
  • 1:14 - 1:18
Now, here is why you should
take time out of your very, very busy day
  • 1:18 - 1:21
    to click on a link
    and subscribe to a channel
  • 1:21 - 1:27
    and help it grow
and bring more eyes to my content,
  • 1:27 - 1:31
    and the simple reason is
    that my content is helpful.
  • 1:32 - 1:37
The videos I make provide information
that makes the lives of animals better
  • 1:37 - 1:42
by giving the people who love them,
the tools and information and knowledge
  • 1:42 - 1:45
that they need to better take care
    of their furry friends
  • 1:45 - 1:47
and I do this for free
and I make this available to everyone
  • 1:47 - 1:49
    in the world.
  • 1:49 - 1:52
    My channel is on YouTube,
    YouTube is visible by people
  • 1:52 - 1:57
in countries where modern veterinary care,
the way we understand it in the west,
  • 1:57 - 1:58
    doesn't exist.
  • 1:59 - 2:01
    After all the veterinary professions,
  • 2:01 - 2:04
    specifically the small animal
    veterinary profession,
  • 2:04 - 2:10
doesn't really exist in the same way
it does in North America, UK, Australia
  • 2:10 - 2:12
    and very many other places.
  • 2:12 - 2:16
So by making this content available,
    we can help people
  • 2:16 - 2:20
    who live in developing countries,
who are still interested in pets welfare,
  • 2:20 - 2:22
take care of their pets better
    and that's amazing,
  • 2:22 - 2:24
but we can also help people
    here in the West,
  • 2:24 - 2:27
    you know North America,
not everybody can afford to go to the vet
  • 2:27 - 2:29
or not as often as they should.
  • 2:29 - 2:32
Not everybody has access to vet clinic
  • 2:32 - 2:34
where they have the luxury of time
    to spend with them.
  • 2:34 - 2:38
For example, at my own practice,
    our consultation are 40 minutes
  • 2:38 - 2:39
    and then there is often-
  • 2:39 - 2:42
if there is a problem identifying,
    there's a follow-up phone call
  • 2:42 - 2:46
where either I or one of my colleagues
takes other 40 to 60 minutes
  • 2:46 - 2:48
to talk about things with the client,
  • 2:48 - 2:51
    so we usually spend
like anywhere from 90 minutes to 2 hours
  • 2:52 - 2:53
    talking with the client
  • 2:53 - 2:56
    whenever there is
any kind of issue with their pet.
  • 2:56 - 2:59
    Now the industry standard
    for veterinary consultation
  • 2:59 - 3:02
    is 15 to 20 minutes
    and some clinics
  • 3:02 - 3:03
do phone calls and some don't.
  • 3:03 - 3:09
    Not every veterinarian
has a luxury of time and circumstance
  • 3:09 - 3:12
to provide the kind of information,
that we know we need to,
  • 3:12 - 3:17
to provide the level of detail
that I would like every pet owner to have,
  • 3:17 - 3:18
so that they can make rational,
  • 3:18 - 3:21
    intelligent, educated decisions
    about their pet's welfare
  • 3:21 - 3:25
and I think it makes life better
for everyone who cares about animals.
  • 3:25 - 3:29
That is the value that I feel
that my channel brings to the world
  • 3:29 - 3:31
and I make my videos in a way
    that-
  • 3:31 - 3:35
    I image it being used
    as consult room tools.
  • 3:35 - 3:38
[To Claudia] Claudia, why do you have
to sit in from of me?
  • 3:38 - 3:40
Can you sit slightly this side?
  • 3:40 - 3:41
    Thank you.
  • 3:41 - 3:44
I make my videos so that it can be used
    as consult room tools
  • 3:44 - 3:48
    so they can be something
that a veterinarian refers their client to
  • 3:48 - 3:51
so that when they don't have the time,
that they really feel the need
  • 3:51 - 3:55
    to take with the case,
    they can utilize these videos
  • 3:55 - 3:58
as a tool to create that value
    for the client-
  • 3:58 - 4:02
that care for the client and the patient,
    that they could otherwise
  • 4:02 - 4:04
    and in my own practices,
    me and my colleagues
  • 4:04 - 4:07
    definitely use these videos,
    we offer clients to them
  • 4:07 - 4:10
and the clients are very, very happy
    that we do
  • 4:10 - 4:13
and they can always phone us,
    if they have any questions
  • 4:13 - 4:14
    or any follow-ups.
  • 4:14 - 4:16
    So, these are really,
    really valuable consult room tools
  • 4:16 - 4:20
and they are valuable at home tools
    as well,
  • 4:20 - 4:24
cause let's face it, you probably remember
about 20% of what a doctor tells you
  • 4:24 - 4:27
    during a doctor visit
and every time you get home, it's all gone
  • 4:27 - 4:30
so it's really nice to have references
    when you get home.
  • 4:30 - 4:33
You can do some good in the world
by getting my videos in front of the eyes
  • 4:33 - 4:35
    of more people
who have pets and love them
  • 4:35 - 4:39
and want to take better care of them
and again, the way to do it
  • 4:39 - 4:42
    besides the straight forward process
    of liking,
  • 4:42 - 4:43
and subscribing to my main channel,
  • 4:44 - 4:47
is to utilize and help me leverage
    the YouTube algorithm
  • 4:47 - 4:49
by going to that clips channel
    that we just started,
  • 4:49 - 4:54
again, the link is in the description below
    and to subscribe to that,
  • 4:54 - 4:58
like it, share it but mostly subscribe
    and hit that notification icon
  • 4:59 - 5:01
and just let the YouTube algorithm
    do the rest
  • 5:01 - 5:05
and that will get my content
    in front of more eyes
  • 5:05 - 5:08
    and redirect more people
    to my main channel
  • 5:08 - 5:11
    where they can learn
about how to take care of their pets
  • 5:11 - 5:13
    and then everybody's life
    gets a little bit better.
  • 5:13 - 5:14
    Thank you very much
    for watching, guys!
  • 5:14 - 5:16
    Thank you for your assistance
  • 5:16 - 5:19
and I hope to see you soon
    with more helpful videos.
  • 5:21 - 5:25
    (plastic rustling)
