-
0:44 - 0:48Cuando emprendas el camino hacia Ítaca,
-
0:48 - 0:52ruega que tu viaje sea largo,
-
0:52 - 0:57lleno de aventuras, lleno de experiencias.
-
0:57 - 1:02A Lestrigones y Cíclopes, al fiero Poseidón,
-
1:02 - 1:05no les temas
-
1:08 - 1:12Nunca tales cosas encontrarás en tu camino,
-
1:12 - 1:17siempre y cuando mantengas pensamientos elevados,
-
1:17 - 1:26tanto, que una extraña sensación toque tu espíritu y tu cuerpo.
-
1:26 - 1:31Lestrigones y Cíclopes, salvaje Poseidón,
-
1:31 - 1:35A ellos no encontrarás,
-
1:35 - 1:41a menos que los lleves dentro de tu alma,
-
1:41 - 1:49a menos que tu alma los ponga frente a ti.
-
1:49 - 1:54Ruega que el camino sea largo
-
1:54 - 1:59Que sean muchas las mañanas de verano
-
1:59 - 2:04en que, con qué placer, qué alegría,
-
2:04 - 2:09entres en puertos nunca antes vistos.
-
2:09 - 2:14Puedes detenerte en los emporios de Fenicia
-
2:14 - 2:17para adquirir finas mercancías:
-
2:17 - 2:22madreperla, coral, ámbar, ébano,
-
2:22 - 2:27sensuales perfumes de todo tipo;
-
2:27 - 2:33tantos perfumes sensuales como puedas.
-
2:33 - 2:37Y puedes visitar muchas ciudades egipcias,
-
2:37 - 2:45para aprender y volver a aprender de los sabios.
-
2:45 - 2:51Mantén siempre a Ítaca en tu mente.
-
2:51 - 2:56Llegar allí es tu destino,
-
2:56 - 3:00mas no apresures el viaje en absoluto.
-
3:00 - 3:03Es mejor que dure muchos años,
-
3:04 - 3:09de modo que, ya viejo, arribes a la isla,
-
3:09 - 3:14rico con todo cuanto ganaste en el camino,
-
3:14 - 3:20sin esperar que Ítaca te enriquezca.
-
3:20 - 3:24Ítaca te dio el maravilloso viaje.
-
3:24 - 3:30Sin ella, no habrías emprendido el camino.
-
3:30 - 3:34Ella nada tiene ya que darte.
-
3:34 - 3:41Y si la encuentras pobre, Ítaca no te habrá engañado.
-
3:41 - 3:47Sabio como habrás vuelto, con tanta experiencia,
-
3:47 - 3:51entenderás para entonces,
-
3:51 - 3:55qué significan las Ítacas.
-
4:04 - 4:27

- Title:
- " ÍTACA " de Constantino Cavafis (1863-1933). Con Sean Connery y Vangelis
- Description:
-
Poema " Ítaca ", recitado por Sir Sean Connery, con música de Vangelis.
ITHACA [1910 - 1911]
As you set out for Ithaca
hope that your journey is a long one,
full of adventure, full of discovery.
Laistrygonians and Cyclops,
angry Poseidon-don't be afraid of them:
you'll never find things like that on your way
as long as you keep your thoughts raised high,
as long as a rare sensasion
touches your spirit and your body.
Laistrygonians and Cyclops,
wild Poseidon-you won't encounter them
unless you bring them along inside your soul,
unless your soul sets them up in front of you.Hope that your journey is a long one.
May there be many summer mornings when,
with what pleasure, what joy,
you come into harbors you're seeing for the first time;
may you stop at Phoenician trading stations
to buy fine things,
mother of pearl and coral, amber and ebony,
sensual perfume of every kind-
as many sensual perfumes as you can;
and may you visit many Egyptian cities
to learn and learn again from those who know.Keep Ithaka always in your mind.
Arriving there is what you're destined for.
But don't hurry the journey at all.
Better if it lasts for years,
so that you're old by the time you reach the island,
wealthy with all you've gained on the way,
not expecting Ithaca to make you rich.
Ithaca gave you the marvelous journey.
Without her you would have not set out.
She has nothing left to give you now.And if you find her poor, Ithaca won't have fooled you.
Wise as you will have become, so full of experience,
you'll have understood by then what these Ithacas mean. - Video Language:
