Stacy: Stampy, Lizzy, Preston - thank you for coming
    with me.
  • 0:04 - 0:07
What I want to show you is just over this
    mesa plateau.
  • 0:07 - 0:09
I think you're going to love it!
  • 0:09 - 0:17
Wait a minute - there's a hole in the track!
    (screaming) Is everyone okay?
  • 0:17 - 0:18
Stampy: Ah, I see the problem.
  • 0:18 - 0:19
    Look!
  • 0:19 - 0:20
There was a hole in the track.
  • 0:20 - 0:22
    Stacy: Really, Stampy?
  • 0:22 - 0:25
Lizzy: Maybe we should gather blocks to fix
    it.
  • 0:25 - 0:26
Preston: Let's make it a race.
  • 0:26 - 0:28
First one back to the top wins.
  • 0:28 - 0:30
Stacy: Ok, on your mark, get set, GO!
  • 0:30 - 0:34
Ok, I'm just gonna gather some of this terracotta.
  • 0:34 - 0:35
    Wait.
  • 0:35 - 0:36
    Guys, I can't mine!
  • 0:36 - 0:37
    Preston: Same.
  • 0:37 - 0:38
    Lizzy: I can't either.
  • 0:38 - 0:40
Stacy: Ok, that is really strange.
  • 0:40 - 0:41
    Stampy, can you mine?
  • 0:41 - 0:43
    Stampy: I can't mine!
  • 0:43 - 0:44
    Stacy: Ok, everyone stay calm.
  • 0:44 - 0:46
    Stampy: Is the game broken?
  • 0:46 - 0:47
Stacy: If it is, how do we fix it?
  • 0:47 - 0:48
    Lizzy: I don't know.
  • 0:48 - 0:51
Stampy: Does anyone know how to write Minecraft
    code?
  • 0:51 - 0:53
    (poof) Preston: What is that?
  • 0:53 - 0:55
Stampy: I've never seen one of these before.
  • 0:55 - 0:56
    Lizzy: It's so adorable!
  • 0:56 - 0:59
    Stacy: Is it...is it tameable?
  • 0:59 - 1:02
Preston: Okay, what is going on?
  • 1:02 - 1:04
Someone needs to go back to the real world
    and fix this.
  • 1:04 - 1:06
    All: Not it!
  • 1:06 - 1:08
    Stacy: Not i- (Sigh.)
  • 1:08 - 1:10
    Ok, I'll go.
  • 1:12 - 1:13
    Hey!
  • 1:13 - 1:17
Oh, okay, hey, so I'm in the real world now.
  • 1:17 - 1:20
I'm going to go try to find the Minecraft offices.
  • 1:20 - 1:22
But, I'm going to need your help.
  • 1:22 - 1:26
Start doing the tutorial, start learning how
to code, and I'll catch up with you guys after
  • 1:26 - 1:27
    a few levels, okay?
  • 1:27 - 1:29
    Wish me luck!
  • 1:31 - 1:34
    I think it's this way.
  • 1:34 - 1:35
    Ow!
  • 1:35 - 1:36
    Cactus!
  • 1:36 - 1:38
    I'm okay!
  • 1:38 - 1:43
To complete the Hour of Code challenge, you'll
need to write code to program the agent.
  • 1:43 - 1:48
You'll work together with The Agent to clear
any obstacles in your path, so you can pick
  • 1:48 - 1:50
up the items you'll need for your journey.
  • 1:50 - 1:56
Only the Agent can place and break blocks,
and only you can collect items.
  • 1:56 - 2:01
Your screen is split into three main parts.
    On the left is Minecraft.
  • 2:01 - 2:06
The middle area is the toolbox with commands
    that the Agent can understand.
  • 2:06 - 2:08
And on the right, is the workspace.
  • 2:08 - 2:12
That's where you stack the commands to build
your program to control the Agent.
  • 2:12 - 2:16
The Agent can walk, turn, and activate pressure
    plates.
  • 2:16 - 2:20
It can also destroy blocks and place blocks.
  • 2:20 - 2:25
When it places the block like these minecart
rails, it places it underneath itself.
  • 2:25 - 2:29
If you forget what to do, the instructions
for each level are at the top.
  • 2:29 - 2:34
If you want to try again, you can hit the
blue "reset" button to reset everything to
  • 2:34 - 2:35
    where it started.
  • 2:35 - 2:40
And if you need to delete a block of code,
drag it from your workspace to the toolbox.
  • 2:40 - 2:42
Remember to hit "run" to get the Agent moving.
  • 2:42 - 2:45
Okay, go ahead and try out the first few levels.
  • 2:45 - 2:45
    Good luck!
