My name is Brooke Simpson,
from Hollister, North Carolina,

a small Native American
community.

You are awesome.

Who do you listen to?
Like, what's on your playlist?

I listen to all four of you,
actually.

-Yeah!

So we all have a chance.

But my main inspiration
is my mom.

-I love you, Mom!

Oh, my God.

She's freaking out.

My mom is probably back there
freaking out right now, too,

wanting you for my team.

But I know that
Jennifer's voice is amazing.

You guys have
a similar range.

But I also know that
I'm a very invested coach,

and I'm gonna win this season,
and I want to do it with you.

I have it written down
right here,

'cause I believe
what you write down comes true.

I-I wrote mine down, too, but
I had to throw my book at you,

and that is a compliment.

So I'ma get up
and I'ma grab it

'cause I wrote
that same thing down.

-How you doin'?
-Good. How are you?

-I'm Adam.
-I'm Brooke.

Um, most people that
try to do what you do --

so effortlessly --
shouldn't do it

because you have to be able
to sing with proficiency,

and technically be good,
but also, you got to manage

to squeeze in all the soulfulness
and passion and power.

It's really hard to find that.
It's one in a million.

And so when we see it --
-[ Sighs ]

Hold on a second.
You just talked for a long time.

Let me have my thing.
Just take a deep breath.

I didn't do anything!
You're taking, like, short breaths,

and I hear --
I feel your energy.

I'm excited! You know,
I wanted to say something.

Look at my hands.

right?

That's how good you are.

'Cause I was that excited.

Every now and then,

there's a singer that comes
across this stage

that just simply needs
an opportunity.

And I think
that's where you're at

with your talent,
with your artistry.

It's just about
creating the right moments

and the right opportunities,
that's...

I actually happen to
agree with him,

which is
extraordinarily rare.

You need to sing the right songs
in the right moments,

and over here --
Team Adam --

we're really, really,
really good at that.

I just know you're the one.

make it clear, too,

that the thing that
you can take away from me

is how invested I am
in my artists.

I will spend as much time
as you need.

I will fight for you
with song choices.

I just want to
get to know you

and get what kind of music
you love.

And I want to help you
reach your full potential.

Your voice, it's amazing.

But there's a lot of people
with amazing voices.

I do want you to have
a stronger voice, too.
