Microsoft HoloLens - Possibilities

  • 0:01 - 0:04
    When you think about
    how you experience technology today,
  • 0:04 - 0:07
it's like behind this glass screen.
  • 0:07 - 0:10
And you're kinda stuck. It feels cold.
  • 0:10 - 0:13
    We've unlocked the screen.
  • 0:14 - 0:16
Really what we're trying to do
    is break down the walls
  • 0:16 - 0:20
    between technology and people.
  • 0:20 - 0:22
This is the next generation of computing.
  • 0:22 - 0:24
    This is the next PC.
  • 0:24 - 0:28
    It's basically a see-through display
    that you wear.
  • 0:28 - 0:29
And it lets you see holograms
  • 0:29 - 0:33
    in your world,
in your space all around you.
  • 0:33 - 0:35
A hologram is made out of light
  • 0:35 - 0:37
    which ultimately allowed us
  • 0:37 - 0:40
to port digital assets over to real world,
  • 0:40 - 0:43
    so that humans can
    essentially be entertained
  • 0:43 - 0:47
    and be empowered
to do things in brand new ways.
  • 0:47 - 0:50
The ability to draw with your hand
  • 0:50 - 0:53
or to take an asset, you know,
an image and move it or scale it.
  • 0:53 - 0:56
This is a very natural way
    of interacting with it.
  • 0:57 - 1:01
    Here's what you can do
    with polygraphic video.
  • 1:01 - 1:06
Here's what you can do with
using your world as a game level.
  • 1:06 - 1:12
Here's what you can do with taking
the power of 3D modelling and creation.
  • 1:13 - 1:17
    And guess what?
Printed out of a screen into real 3D.
  • 1:17 - 1:20
    And you then sharing
    what you've created with others.
  • 1:21 - 1:26
That was science fiction and now
we're bringing it in to science fact.
  • 1:28 - 1:33
    They've been working on this
    for, you know, years. Secretly.
  • 1:34 - 1:36
    You need to have
    a bunch of obsessive people
  • 1:36 - 1:41
    who see this as
a meaningful part of their lives.
  • 1:41 - 1:45
This is by far, far, far the hardest,
    most complex, most challenging
  • 1:45 - 1:48
    and most intriguing thing
I've ever done in my life.
  • 1:48 - 1:50
    I mean, we are literally
    smacking up against
  • 1:50 - 1:54
some of the laws of physics
on what we can and can't do with light.
  • 1:54 - 1:58
    For all this complexity
it has to be incredibly easy,
  • 1:58 - 2:04
    incredibly familiar, incredibly universal
how you use this new palette.
  • 2:04 - 2:06
    We just recently started
    engaging with third parties
  • 2:06 - 2:09
to build applications for the device.
  • 2:09 - 2:12
    And the things they're doing...
    they're humbling.
  • 2:12 - 2:16
When you got a thousand different people
    from all different backgrounds,
  • 2:16 - 2:18
with all different types of experience
  • 2:18 - 2:20
you're gonna see that the stuff
that we've built at the begining
  • 2:20 - 2:24
is just a tiny scratching of the surface
of what this technology can do
  • 2:24 - 2:26
and what it can mean for people.
  • 2:27 - 2:31
When the other perspectives come to it
and all the creatives out there...
  • 2:31 - 2:34
    it's gonna blow our minds.
  • 2:34 - 2:38
    This is a new medium
    for artistic experssion
  • 2:38 - 2:43
and a new medium for creation,
that we've just never had before.
  • 2:43 - 2:46
This platform is going to truly blend
  • 2:46 - 2:49
your digital life with your physical life.
  • 2:49 - 2:52
    And it is so thrilling!
  • 2:52 - 2:55
This is truly about seeing the world
    in a whole different way.
  • 2:55 - 2:57
    [Transform your world]
Title:
Microsoft HoloLens - Possibilities
Description:

We envisioned a world where technology could become more personal. Where it could adapt to the natural ways we communicate, learn, and create. The result is the world's most advanced holographic computing platform, enabled by Windows 10. Transform your world with holograms.
