Title:
Harvesting the future: Gabriel Salazar at TEDxGuatemalaCity
Description:

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

  • I fixed punctuation in many subtitles - please remember that if a subtitle is a sentence, it does need to end in a period, even if the period would fall at the end of the subtitle. I removed a lot of unnecessary repetition (e.g. very, very) and made other changes to keep the reading speed no higher than 21 characters per second, by changing timing and/or compressing the text (see http://translations.ted.org/wiki/How_to_Compress_Subtitles). I also broke every subtitle that was longer than 42 characters (see http://translations.ted.org/wiki/How_to_break_lines). Please introduce quotations with a comma (e.g. I said "I like this" --> I said, "I like this"). I changed the punctuation to be consistent with American English rules throughout the translation (when double quotes ("") are used, commas and periods go before the closing quotation mark). Please try to use dashes sparingly in subtitles - because the previous part of the sentence disappears, it is harder to understand what they are supposed to do in the sentence than it would be in other written text. Most of the time, you can do the same with a comma.
