Może to być już oczywiste dla was,

ale zrobię to krok po kroku gdyby jednak nie było,

Spójrzmy najpierw na miejsce setek

możecie zauważyć, że jest najbardziej znacząca pozycja

bo to jest największa... no wiecie: 1 na pozycji setek

reprezentuje znacznie więcej, niż 5 na pozycji dziesiątek

czy 6 na pozycji jedynek

1 na pozycji setek reprezentuje 100, tyle setek (1 setka).

Mamy tą samą ilość setek w obu sytuacjach

mamy jedną setkę i jedną setkę.

Spójrzmy na pozycję dziesiątek

mamy 5 dziesiątek, czyli 50,

i mamy 50 też tutaj,

więc jak narazie są równe...

...jak narazie: sprawdziliśmy tylko setki i dziesiątki.

Spójrzmy na pozycję jedynek

mamy 6 na pozycji jedynek - 6 jedynek,

co tak naprawdę to 6,

i tutaj również 6 jedynek, więc jak narazie

są one wciąż równe.

Spójrzmy na pozycję dziesiątych

3 dziesiąte, 3 dziesiąte.

Spójrzmy na pozycję setnych

-- kierujemy się w stronę mniejszych i mniejszych pozycji --

więc mamy 7 setnych tutaj, i 4 setne tutaj

więc tu jest mniej setnych niż jest tutaj.

Jeśli przejdziemy do pozycji tysięcznych:

one są równe, ale to nie ma znaczenia

czy są równe czy nie,

nawet jeśli to by było większe (lub mniejsze) niż to drugie,

gdyż na bardziej znaczącej pozycji --

Tak więc 7 jest większe niż 4
