-
- Heavenly greetings
in Jesus' mighty name.
-
Yes, thank you for joining us once again
-
on this podcast here on
the University of God.
-
And today we want to
discuss about something
-
which is close to the heart of everyone.
-
Yes, I believe at one point in our lives,
-
the question has gone through our heart,
-
is God aware of my situation?
-
Many of us don't voice that question out,
-
but the question can be
very loud in our heart.
-
And remember, it's our
heart that God hears,
-
yes, our thoughts are louder
than our words in Heaven.
-
So we want to talk about that today.
-
Is God aware of our problem?
-
And if God's aware, how
then should we pray?
-
What should we ask for when
we pray? So let's get into it.
-
Racine, what can you say about this?
-
- Thank you.
-
So this programme was inspired
-
by what we read through the
hundreds of hundreds of emails
-
we received from partners, from viewers
-
introducing their prayer request to us.
-
So we pay attention to it
before the presence of God.
-
But we realize that many believers,
-
many, many, so many, so many,
-
by the terms of their
requests, we can see clearly
-
they are not conscious that
God is aware of their problem.
-
Many of them express themselves,
-
they talk or are about to take
decisions as if God is not aware.
-
In their marriages, in their
business and everything,
-
we can see that people
have no hope for an answer.
-
As if God was silent to their prayers,
-
as if God was blind and deaf and dumb.
-
God is not.
-
Our attitude towards God is very important
-
in our prayer life.
-
So we have been asking, what
is the cause of all this?
-
Why believers today, in
the midst of circumstances,
-
adverse situations, sometime
the response of our heart,
-
our attitude seem to
contradict our belief.
-
We need to understand
that God honours faith
-
more than anything.
-
Of all the graces we have from God,
-
only faith honours Jesus the most.
-
What is faith? A heart
that believe God in?
-
- Every single circumstance.
-
- How do we know that somebody has faith?
-
If I say, "Okay, I trust
you, I have faith in you,"
-
it can be my word of mouth.
-
How will you know that really,
I put my trust in you? How?
-
- Your attitude during hard times.
-
- If in your mind, you want
to check the genuineness.
-
Okay, somebody can say, "Oh,
I love you, I love you."
-
How can you check the
genuineness of that love?
-
When people come to God in
Matthew chapter 15 verse 8,
-
God said, they come to me with their lips-
-
- But their hearts are far from me.
-
- But their hearts are far from me.
-
Why do you think God is saying that?
-
Why?
-
- Because He's looking at their heart.
-
- Yes, good, but why?
-
Why God does not listen
to the words in my mouth,
-
but in my heart?
-
That's the question.
-
When we come to God to worship, to pray,
-
whatever way we come, God
first looks at our heart.
-
Why? You said it before that.
-
Today thousands of prayers
are offered, but perhaps-
-
- With almost no faith.
-
How can this be?
-
We just believe the expression
of faith is to pray.
-
Everybody prays. Everybody
knows how to send petitions.
-
The question is, which
petition goes above the ceiling
-
or which petition will
not go beyond my lips?
-
- I think many times you see
it in the attitude of people
-
or the attitude of us let's say after prayer.
-
Many times after praying,
we continue to complain
-
and be worried and anxious as
if we've never prayed at all.
-
It's as if maybe we've eaten a huge meal
-
and we still complain that we're hungry.
-
That means that that food
did not actually go anywhere.
-
That food did not reach
where it needed to reach.
-
So I think that's a picture
of our faith life today.
-
If we pray those prayers and
we don't pray them in faith,
-
it's as if we too, we
know that the prayer,
-
the words are only entertaining people,
-
they're not reaching God.
-
So the question is how do we
pray then for God to hear?
-
- We need to understand that faith
-
is not a panic button to press, like 911.
-
How do you call it, 911?
-
Faith is a lifestyle of trusting in God,
-
not a panic pattern.
-
God looks at our heart to
see where there is faith.
-
What is faith? How do
we know we trust God?
-
How do we believe? That's the question.
-
We don't believe God with our heads.
-
We don't believe in God with
our mouth, but with our heart.
-
So when we come to God,
-
God looks at our heart
to see the genuineness.
-
Why are we asking?
-
Are we led by faith or we
are led by our circumstances?
-
Remember, faith is centred on God.
-
Faith arises in my heart out of the trust
-
that the other party is reliable.
-
Do you believe God as
reliable? Is God reliable?
-
Is He dependable, trustworthy
in the midst of circumstances?
-
If I say I love you, well
you say, "Huh, he loves me."
-
But when adverse situation comes,
-
the attitude of the person
reveals the true person
-
of love of faith in his
heart, our attitude.
-
That's why sometimes God
allows adverse situations
-
to come to test our heart,
the condition of our heart.
-
I want you to understand
this biblical truth.
-
When we pray, God hears and responds
-
according to the condition of our heart.
-
What is the condition
of our heart before God?
-
God looks at the condition of our heart.
-
We're going to take an example.
-
Before, I want to take the
proof text of our message today,
-
which Ruth is going to guide us today
-
in the book of Matthew chapter 6.
-
Let's listen to the very
words of Jesus Christ,
-
our Lord, our Saviour, and
the foundation of our faith.
-
Let's listen to Him.
-
- Matthew 6 from verse 30.
-
"Now if God so clothed
the grass of the field,
-
which today is and tomorrow
is thrown into the oven,
-
will he not much more clothe
you, O you of little faith?
-
Therefore do not worry
saying, 'What shall we eat?'
-
or 'What shall we drink?'
or 'What shall we wear?'
-
for after all these
things the Gentiles seek,
-
for your heavenly Father knows
-
that you need all these things,
-
but seek first the kingdom
of God and his righteousness
-
and all these things
shall be added to you."
-
- You hear what Jesus said?
-
Jesus is warning us
that we shouldn't worry
-
about what to eat, what to
wear, what tomorrow will be.
-
Why did He say that?
-
He says the Gentiles are
the ones doing those things.
-
Why? Because they don't know God.
-
Because they don't know His ways.
-
We are supposed to know
a God in whom we believe,
-
we are supposed to know His ways
-
for His ways are not the ways of man.
-
When God delivered His people in suffering
-
in the land of Egypt, God
took them out of the land.
-
But God choose a way
that no man will choose.
-
God took them by the way of the Red Sea.
-
God allowed circumstances
to come against them,
-
an army to come, threatening army,
-
life-threatening situation
-
and God took them to a way
which was blocked by the sea.
-
And we see the attitude of people.
-
Let us just compare the attitude of Moses
-
with the attitude of the people.
-
The people, they began to cry, to lament
-
and speak against God.
-
They were ready to go back to Egypt.
-
They began to compare God
with the situation they faced.
-
'You see, we were better off
-
when we were in this bondage in Egypt.'
-
That's what they said.
-
They were overwhelmed by this situation.
-
Overwhelmed. Fear.
-
No, they forgot all the miracles God did
-
to bring them out of Egypt.
-
They forgot it all because
of their circumstances,
-
disfocused.
-
But there was one man, Moses,
-
who came to the presence of God.
-
When they saw the situation,
-
Moses turned his heart to
God and God spoke to him.
-
He said "Raise your staff
and split the Red Sea."
-
We want to tell you that God is
aware of every situation,
-
every condition we have on earth.
-
Whether you are a believer
or not, God is aware.
-
When you are alone in
your room in the dark,
-
God Almighty is aware.
-
He's not blind.
-
He understand the
language of your thoughts.
-
You don't even got to utter any words,
-
God is aware of your situation.
-
The question is, why do we lose faith
-
when circumstances become difficult?
-
That's my question.
-
What can you say Ruth about that?
-
Why are we so overwhelmed
-
when situations seem to be contrary
-
to our expectation in
Christ, we forget God?
-
Why?
-
- Because we're focused so much
-
on the situation that we're in.
-
We are looking at the temporary situation
-
that we're passing through
and our focus is on that
-
more than God.
-
- But we say we should focus
on God not our problem.
-
If you focus on God Almighty,
-
He will give you the peace of heart.
-
That's what God wants. Our
situation is not like others.
-
Your situation is an
extraordinary situation.
-
Whatever happens, whatever you
might be going through today,
-
run to God, don't stop praying.
-
Move closer to God.
-
Our situation brings us closer to God.
-
For the man of faith, as
I said, how do you put it?
-
Nothing is lacking why?
-
- Everything is necessary.
-
- Now God purposely took
them by the way of the Red Sea
-
to show His grace is sufficient.
-
God's grace is sufficient.
-
He gives us the promise of enough grace
-
for whatever we face in life,
-
whatever we face on this earth,
-
God has made enough provision
to those who believe.
-
That's what Jesus says.
-
Blessed are those who
believe and do not see.
-
The question we have today,
-
we are so overwhelmed by our situation
-
because we fail to understand
that God's standard of faith,
-
Christ's standard of faith is
not based on the blessings,
-
it's not based on the
healing we're seeking,
-
it's not based on things in the natural.
-
It is based on God Almighty.
-
Have faith in God.
-
Now, God, when we come to
Him, God looks at our heart.
-
Are you coming by faith?
-
What motivates you to come before God?
-
When we ask before God,
-
what's the motivation behind our asking?
-
That's what God said.
-
Sometimes we ask things that
Are contrary to His will.
-
Sometimes God allows us
to go through the dark
-
for a purpose known to Him alone.
-
So what should be our attitude?
-
If for if we are believers,
-
nothing out of God's
control can happen to us.
-
Nothing happens by chance,
so why is it we behave
-
as if God has forsaken us?
-
We go desperate. We take alternatives.
-
And some say, "I'm no longer
in the faith." We read it.
-
Some say, "I'm not Christian.
-
Some say, "I'll go to other
means other than God."
-
They have exposed what is in their heart.
-
That's why sometimes God
allow us to go to the dark,
-
to check the condition of our heart.
-
He knows who believes, He
knows who does not believe.
-
We have so many cases today
in the world of people
-
who were closer to God
-
and find themselves in sickness,
in disease, in lack, in want.
-
Ruth, what can you say about that?
-
We have so many people in the whole world
-
who today, like Job, who was rich before,
-
but all of a sudden, circumstances came
-
and they lost everything.
-
Some people honoured God in their trouble.
-
Some say, "God, why me this trouble?
-
Why me all this trouble?"
-
We begin to complain. We begin to murmur.
-
We begin to lament as
if God does not exist.
-
In the wildness we saw
how they were afraid
-
and forgot God's presence was
just on top of their head.
-
So many of these prayer
requests we received
-
compelled us to have this programme with you,
-
to know that God is aware.
-
God has no problem.
-
We are the ones that have a problem
-
because our focus has been broken.
-
If we are conscious of our faith,
-
we'll know that God is aware.
-
What can you say about that?
-
- No, it's true.
-
I think many people
actually give up praying
-
because they've lost hope for an answer.
-
- Hmm. Why?
-
- Because the answer they're
expecting doesn't come.
-
And I think many times we set
ourselves up for disappointment
-
because we don't actually
understand the heart of God.
-
That can be maybe through
misunderstanding of the scripture,
-
misunderstanding of different teachings.
-
If we truly know the heart of Jesus,
-
we will know what He wants for us
-
and then we'll pray according to His will.
-
I think many times we
forget the purpose of life.
-
The purpose of life is to
glorify God in every situation.
-
But if our focus is mostly on pleasing us,
-
not on pleasing God,
then when things happen
-
that are difficult for us to go through,
-
we find it difficult to praise God.
-
And that's actually what pleases God,
-
when we praise Him in
the midst of that pain.
-
So whatever pain we are going through,
-
we should not stop that.
-
We should not allow it to
stop our worshiping God,
-
our praising God.
-
I think many times we can
pretend to be different things,
-
but in the hard times,
that's when the truth
-
of what's actually in our heart comes out.
-
And that's why in this podcast
we really want to discuss
-
and address the real truth
-
of why people feel like giving up praying.
-
Because maybe they actually feel
-
they're asking for the wrong thing.
-
- And you mentioned one word, expectation,
-
and you say it pleases God.
-
And we know only faith pleases God.
-
God allow us to go through
difficult situations
-
sometimes to check the
genuineness of our faith
-
because our faith should be on Him.
-
If I recognise God as my source,
-
if I believe in God's sufficiency,
-
I will not be afraid to go
through difficult circumstances
-
when I know I'm going with God.
-
Jesus spoke to the disciples three times
-
that He was going to the cross.
-
In Matthew chapter 16, in
Matthew chapter 17 and 22,
-
he said, "I'm going to
Jerusalem. They will betray me.
-
They will harass me, they will kill me."
-
- They didn't want to hear
it. They didn't understand.
-
- They didn't understand.
-
And they were the closest to Jesus.
-
Peter, of all of them was closer to him.
-
But he said, "No God, this
will never happen to you."
-
And Jesus said, "Get behind me satan
-
because you think like
man, not as God thinks."
-
And that is the issue.
-
That is the problem we have.
-
The greatest problem our faith has,
-
we are still ruled by our senses.
-
We're actually ruled by our feelings.
-
We are ruled by our emotions.
-
So when satan takes advantage of that,
-
that's what he tried to
do in the life of Job.
-
When situation happens, he says hey,
-
he begins to bombard your mind
-
with thoughts of negative thoughts
-
that God is not reliable,
-
to distrust in your God and he's happy.
-
But when you're conscious of your faith,
-
when you know that God is your source
-
and your faith is based on God's ability
-
and you recognise whatever you
have comes from Him by grace,
-
you'll never doubt His sufficiency.
-
Jesus never doubted.
-
He knew that in going to the
cross, He will rise again.
-
Jesus knew when He came
to the tomb of Lazarus,
-
By speaking the word of
Faith, Lazarus would come back to life.
-
He knew that. But God
gives us a promise today.
-
Jesus said, "We should
not worry about tomorrow."
-
So why are we worrying?
-
Jesus said, "Don't worry about what to eat
-
for your Father in heaven
knows that you need them."
-
So why are we worrying?
This is the question.
-
Is it because we have no faith?
-
Or because our faith is weak.
-
Why?
-
We shouldn't worry if the Word of Jesus
-
is true for our lives.
-
The apostles all knew it
and they never doubted.
-
Now the question.
-
You have helped so many people,
-
so many people came to you
when you were in SCOAN.
-
You helped so many people
who were desperate.
-
Every day you see people
coming, have sickness,
-
have trouble, have issues.
-
You spoke to the faith in their
heart and they got revived.
-
So when difficult situations happen
-
And we tend to forget God,
-
the only answer is to
get our mind refreshed,
-
renewed by what God says on the matter,
-
not what your circumstance says.
-
Because we are so much concentrated
on what we are feeling,
-
how we are doing, how we are treated.
-
If you believe in God,
if you trust in God,
-
you live today and leave
all your worry to God.
-
- It just reminds me of the Israelites
-
when they were going
through the wilderness.
-
They didn't realize the purpose
-
of their going through the wilderness.
-
You know, God actually took
them through the desert
-
in order to test their heart,
-
to know what was in their heart,
-
to know if they would actually observe
-
the commandment that He'd given them.
-
And we have to understand
-
that we're on a journey through life
-
and our destination is heaven,
to be with Jesus forever.
-
Many times I think that we live our life
-
as if we don't know where our
final destination will be.
-
As a believer, we know
that our final destination
-
is to be with Jesus forever.
-
So if we know that our final destination
-
is to be with Him forever,
-
why don't we spend time with
Him now to get to know Him?
-
And anything that happens
in our journey of life,
-
see it as an opportunity to glorify Him
-
and to make His Word the
standard for our life.
-
That's why I was reminded
about the Israelites.
-
They spent so long in the wilderness
-
and yet it seems that they
didn't really understand
-
the purpose of that wilderness experience.
-
It was necessary for them
in order to learn God's Word
-
and obey God's Word
and depend on God alone
-
and unfortunately they
didn't learn those lessons.
-
So that's why we can see
-
what happened in the
Promised Land afterwards.
-
And all these things are in
the Bible for us to learn from.
-
- Thank you for saying that.
And that's what Paul said.
-
All these happened to
them in the wilderness
-
so we can learn from them.
-
It is true that when you read the Bible,
-
everything is a lesson of life.
-
So we have so many people
that were desperate.
-
The man at the Pool of Bethesda
was desperate. 38 years.
-
But Jesus walked directly
towards that man one day
-
and the man began to walk.
-
Zacchaeus.
-
Nobody knew what was in his heart,
-
but he climbed a tree to look for Jesus.
-
But Jesus came to Jericho
-
just because of him, meaning God was aware.
-
- Because he wanted salvation
to come to his house,
-
his heart.
- Absolutely.
-
In Genesis chapter 21, the case of Hagar.
-
Hagar was in the wildness
with her son Ishmael.
-
And she didn't want to see
her son die in front of her.
-
She sat opposite, began
to cry, but God located her
-
and the angel came, opened
her eyes to see a world
-
and said, "Ah, atta El Roi,
you are the God who sees me."
-
Jesus cares because Jesus sees
-
and because He sees, He cares for you.
-
He's not blind. His hand is not short.
-
So where you are now,
Jesus said something to me,
-
and you listen to all
of us, when you pray,
-
he say, "Go to the secret place.
-
Lock your door."
-
When you lock your door, no
man will come and help you.
-
Who will see you in the secret?
-
Your father who sees in the secret.
-
Will He watch you?
-
God sees your pain.
-
He knows the motivation
of your actions indeed.
-
He knows what you're going through.
-
But God, if you remain faithful,
-
God will reveal Himself to your life.
-
All of us, Christians, all of us,
-
we went through our
wilderness at some time.
-
Why are we alive today?
-
The enemy of our soul
wanted all of us to die.
-
But we are alive today.
-
Why satan did not manage
to destroy our lives? Why?
-
Because God is aware.
-
The question is, we need
to know that He's aware.
-
We need to know. We need to
be aware that God is aware.
-
The only way to know that God is aware
-
is to have consciousness of our faith.
-
When we have consciousness of our faith,
-
we remember that God is the author,
-
the perfecter of our faith,
-
that His promises never
fall to the ground.
-
Let's go to 1 Corinthians
chapter 10 verse 13.
-
"We are not speaking just
words of encouragement,
-
we are speaking words of faith.
-
We know your belief when
your belief is tested
-
by opposite situations."
-
Yes.
-
- "No temptation has overtaken you
-
except such as is common to man:
-
But God is faithful, who will
not allow you to be tempted
-
beyond what you are able,
-
but with the temptation will
also make the way of escape
-
that you may be able to bear it."
-
- You will make a way of-
- Escape.
-
- Just as he did at the Red Sea.
-
Just as he did for the man
at the brink of hopelessness
-
at the Pool of Bethesda.
-
Just as He did for me on my fateful day,
-
He did for you, for every one of us.
-
The Bible says God will make a way
-
where there seems to be no way
if you put your trust in Him.
-
The lesson we learned today,
-
God is faithful to those
who are faithful to Him.
-
If you're faithful to the very end,
-
you will see the faithfulness of God.
-
He will never, never,
never allow the situation
-
to destroy your life.
-
He will never allow you.
-
You can be stressed physically, in lack,
-
you can have depression, pain,
-
but He will never allow your faith,
-
your heart to be destroyed.
-
He prayed for Simon Peter
-
because he knew that Peter is
going to face the situation.
-
And Jesus told him, "I pray for you.
-
The devil wants to sift you like wheat.
-
I pray that your faith will not fail."
-
- And when you have turned
back, strengthen your brothers.
-
- Thank you very much. That's
what we're doing today.
-
We know there are many people
who are somewhere watching us.
-
- So this shows we want to encourage you
-
that we have turned back.
-
That's why we want to strengthen you.
-
Meaning that we have gone
through difficulties, trials,
-
and we know there are many more to come
-
on this journey of life.
-
But yes, that knowledge that God is aware
-
makes all the difference.
-
That's what happened to Apostle Paul
-
when he had that thorn in his flesh.
-
We don't know what the thorn was,
-
yet he knew the reason for it,
-
to stop him from becoming
conceited, full of pride
-
because pride separates us from God
-
and God didn't want that to happen.
-
So that's why He permitted Paul
-
to have a thorn in his flesh.
-
And that didn't stop him
in the service of God,
-
it drew him closer to God.
-
And once he knew that, okay, God,
-
You are aware of this, Your
grace is sufficient for me,
-
that was as good as an answer.
-
So that's why, what
prayers are we praying?
-
What requests are we giving to God?
-
Because many times we can pray amiss,
-
but we can never praise amiss.
-
What do I mean?
-
We can say words that
maybe are not in agreement
-
or in alignment with
God's plan for our life,
-
but if you out of your
heart, if you praise God,
-
that will always go to the heart of God.
-
You can never do that wrongly
-
if it comes spontaneously,
naturally from your heart.
-
And remember, praise honours God most
-
when you're in a difficult situation.
-
Maybe you don't even have a word to say
-
but your heart, you find room
in your heart to bless God
-
and that is what is pleasing to God.
-
And that's when God will give
you what you've not asked for.
-
- That's why I said God
will not give you what?
-
- What you ask.
-
- If you ask wrongly.
-
- He'll give you what you have not asked.
-
- Thank you.
-
Now if you're conscious of your faith,
-
if you honour God in your trial
-
and you begin to praise
Him, to worship Him
-
instead of asking Him anything,
-
then He will give you
what you have not asked.
-
Paul and Silas in the prison,
-
in the life threatening situation,
-
they never said, "God, send an earthquake
-
to destroy these people and set us free,
-
send an angel to kill everywhere."
-
No, they were worshiping and praising God.
-
They were praising God for whom He is,
-
they were honouring God
for His faithfulness.
-
And the earthquake came,
-
an angel came and the door
was opened and they were out.
-
So the question is,
-
before we open our lips to
begin to complain and pray,
-
we need to find out what God
says about our situation.
-
God says, "Seek first my
kingdom and his righteousness
-
and everything else
shall be given to you."
-
Meaning we should believe
for salvation's sake.
-
We should put our faith
in God, in Christ Jesus
-
for what He has done for you, for me
-
at the cross of Calvary.
-
When he instructing his disciples,
he said don't carry money,
-
don't carry two bags.
-
Go with the grace of God
and they never lacked.
-
Because God is aware. Where
He guides, He provides.
-
How do you pray to God? We
say, 'Our Father', am I right?
-
- Yes.
-
- You know how a father
takes care of his child?
-
Look at Pearl. You give her food.
-
If you are crying, you take her,
-
you cuddle her, you feed her.
-
You know what it means? Sacrificial love.
-
That's God for you.
-
That's why He gave His son to die for us
-
at the cross of Calvary.
-
If God has given us the best,
-
the greatest posession He had in Heaven,
-
why should He withhold from
us anything of less value?
-
Can you compare Jesus to the
situation you're going through?
-
God gave you Christ. He
gave you the Holy Spirit,
-
everlasting life and
He give you the promise
-
that nothing out of God's
control can happen to you.
-
He's aware of your situation.
So what do we need to do now?
-
I'm speaking to everybody.
-
Some say, "My husband is
this..., I'm going to separate.
-
I'm going to divorce,"
because of what? Situation.
-
We are ready to break
relationship because of situation.
-
We are ready to renounce our
faith because of situation.
-
The devil is happy. We should
not make it easy for him.
-
Anytime we lament,
-
anytime we allow him
to disfocus us from God,
-
you make things easy for him.
-
But anytime situation comes,
anytime you face the Red Sea,
-
Jesus says speak to that mountain.
-
Begin to praise God.
-
Begin to declare the
faithfulness of God in your life.
-
That I have God. God is my Father.
-
He knows what I'm going through.
-
God knows I trust in Him. All is well.
-
That's what the Shunammite woman did.
-
- Yeah, she said, "It is well."
-
- It is well.
-
the boy was dead,
-
but she said to the husband, "It is well"
-
and it was well indeed.
-
Now today, we are here to pray for you.
-
We are here to revive your
faith, that God is faithful.
-
Jesus is the same yesterday,
today and forever.
-
What we ask you to do, open your heart
-
and begin to praise Him.
-
If you don't see any reason to praise God
-
and you praise Him,
-
you will see the hand of God in your life.
-
If you remember God's track
record in your life before,
-
you will see reason to say thank
you Jesus, that He's aware.
-
When you know that God is
aware, you'll not be afraid.
-
Joshua and Caleb - this was their attitude.
-
They knew that God was
aware of the situation.
-
They never allowed fear or circumstances
-
to cause them to doubt
the goodness of God.
-
All those who doubted and murmured,
-
they fell in the wilderness.
-
Why?
-
God said, 'they saw my miracle
and they have no trust in God.'
-
Faith is a heart-
-
- that believes God in
every single circumstance.
-
- Absolutely. You see,
every single circumstance.
-
What is circumstance?
-
Trouble, sickness,
-
disease, poverty, debt, adverse situation.
-
But your heart still believe
in the goodness of the Father.
-
He's aware.
-
Jesus never doubted the Father's grace
-
to raise Him from the dead.
-
He knew that absolute faith in God.
-
Such should be our
attitude towards God today.
-
We should not allow our situation
-
to dictate the direction of our prayers
-
and allow us to be disfocused.
-
So whatever you are facing today,
-
what takes us to the
brink of hopelessness,
-
open your heart to God to pray
-
and begin to give thanks to God.
-
We are going to pray together.
-
Our prayer is not, give them money,
-
Lord heal them. My prayer -
-
Lord, open their eyes.
You can see Your glory.
-
You remember?
-
Maybe you should take
us to Gehazi and Elisha,
-
2 Kings chapter 6 verse 15.
-
We are going to pray
-
for God to open the eyes
of your understanding
-
so you can see that God is aware.
-
Today you know God is aware,
that He will give you strength
-
to endure whatever comes your way.
-
- "And when the servant to
the man of God arose early
-
and went out, there was an
army surrounding the city
-
with horses and chariots.
-
And his servant said to
him, 'Alas, my master,
-
what shall we do?'
-
So he answered, 'Do not fear,
-
for those who are with us are more
-
than those who are with them.'
-
- Hallelujah.
- "And Elisha prayed
-
and said, 'Lord, I pray. Open
his eyes that he may see.'
-
Then the Lord opened the
eyes of the young man
-
and he saw and behold, the
mountain was full of horses
-
and chariots of fire all around Elisha."
-
- This is our prayer today.
-
Your eyes of faith to be opened
-
so you can see clearly that
God is aware of your situation.
-
The opening of the eyes of our faith is-
-
- The silencing of our fears.
-
- Why? The clearer sight.
-
- We have.
- Of what?
-
The sovereignty and power of God,
-
the less we shall fear the
calamities of this earth.
-
What you need today, 2
Corinthians chapter 4 verse 18.
-
We look, not at those
things that are temporary.
-
We look at what is eternal.
-
- I think because many times
we don't even know the battles
-
that Jesus is fighting
for us on a daily basis.
-
I always remember there was one message,
-
Where Prophet T.B. Joshua
talked about our mediator
-
and that was a message that
really changed my life.
-
If you haven't watched that message,
-
I encourage you to do that.
-
And he talked about how Jesus'
ministry of intercession
-
is little appreciated by believers.
-
That the fact that Jesus
is interceding for us
-
in every moment, we don't know the battles
-
that He's fighting in the Spirit for us
-
and that is why we continue to complain.
-
But if the eyes of our faith are opened
-
and we can see what Jesus has done for us,
-
what Jesus is doing for us,
-
then we will appreciate Him so much more
-
and we will see our need of
Him so much more in our lives.
-
Without a mediator, we
cannot approach God.
-
- You mentioned the mediator.
-
What is the promise Jesus gives us?
-
I want you to say because
he's a mediator, true.
-
He made one promise to us.
-
- The Holy Spirit.
-
- Yes, but about the
world. What did he say?
-
John chapter 16 verse 33.
-
- He said take heart.
- Take heart.
-
- I have overcome.
- I have overcome for you.
-
- I have overcome the world for you.
-
- This means the battle is the
Lord. It's not your battle.
-
The battle is a past tense victory.
-
If you recognise the
victory has been done,
-
you will fear no more,
you'll worry no more.
-
If God opens the eyes of your faith
-
to see where He's taking you,
-
you will begin to give thanks to God.
-
If He would open your eyes
to see who is with you,
-
the Bible says, "If God is
for me, who is against us?"
-
That's why faith brings
peace of heart and mind,
-
restfulness, when we know
that God is truly aware
-
and He is with us.
-
- The knowledge that God is with us.
-
- Absolutely.
-
What we know today, we
are going to pray for you.
-
All of you.
-
I can't give you faith,
Jesus gives you faith.
-
Our role is to pray for you
as Elisha prayed for Gehazi
-
and we trust the Holy Spirit.
-
We are going to commit every one of you,
-
every person who is
blindfolded by situation.
-
You can't see beyond your event.
-
You are oppressed, you are
depressed, you lost hope.
-
Your faith is shaken, we
are going to pray for you.
-
- Because don't allow satan
to have access to your soul.
-
That's what he wants.
-
He wants you to take your eyes off God
-
and put it on your situation.
-
And that is how you
begin to be full of doubt
-
and fear and worry and
that is his access to you.
-
Don't give him access to you.
Continue to trust in Jesus.
-
Jesus is the author and
finisher of our faith.
-
And that is why we're going
pray together right now.
-
Because remember, Jesus
cares because Jesus sees.
-
Jesus sees you in your problem.
-
He sees you in your loneliness.
He sees you in your pain.
-
He sees you in your worry.
He sees you in your sickness.
-
He sees you in your
discomfort. Yes, He sees you.
-
And because He sees
you, He cares about you
-
and He has sent His loving aid
to strengthen you each day.
-
Everything that you need to
live for God here and now,
-
Jesus has already given you.
-
You just need to realise it and to see it.
-
So let's pray together now.
-
- So we are going to ask you something.
-
When Job lost everything he had,
-
he never lost consciousness of his faith
-
because he knew that God was his source.
-
Indeed, God rewarded his
faith more than ever before.
-
So today I stretch my hand and pray.
-
Anywhere you are, whoever you are,
-
I may not know the circumstances
you're going through,
-
but Jesus Christ is aware.
-
Exodus chapter 3 verse 7
says, "Earth has no sorrow
-
that heaven doesn't feel."
-
I want you for a second, for a moment
-
to put the eyes of your faith
-
on the one who defeated satan for you
-
at the cross of Calvary.
-
I want you to put the eyes of your faith
-
as the Bible says in book of
Hebrews chapter 12 verse 1-2
-
to focus, put the eyes of our
faith in Christ as you pray.
-
Lord Jesus, we thank You.
-
Father, we thank You
-
for all that You permit to happen to us.
-
We know that You are aware
-
of every circumstance of our life.
-
First and foremost,
-
we thank You for every
moment of Your attention.
-
We know today because You live, we live.
-
Because of You, we live today.
-
Lord, we commit every timid soul,
-
every weary soul
-
that is in bondage,
overwhelmed by situation,
-
where they're abandoned by
people, where they're helpless.
-
I pray, Lord, that You open
the eyes of their faith.
-
Open the eyes of their
faith to see the light.
-
There is light in darkness
when Jesus is involved.
-
Father, I pray, visit them
in these circumstances,
-
in the mighty name of Jesus.
-
As Elisha prayed, we pray.
-
Open the eyes of their faith.
-
Open the eyes of their heart
-
to see God's mighty hand in their lives.
-
Open their heart to the word of faith,
-
the response of a true believer.
-
Open their heart to the spirit of truth,
-
the Holy Spirit, the comforter.
-
Open their heart to faith,
Lord, and to Your Spirit.
-
I pray, let the Spirit of Father descend,
-
descend upon them
-
and shift their eyes
from the trouble to You
-
to see the goodness of God in their life.
-
Father, we pray, Jesus,
you located Zacchaeus,
-
you located the man at
the Pool of Bethesda.
-
You located Lydia, you
located the Ethiopian eunuch.
-
Father, You are the same
yesterday, today, and forever.
-
I pray that every soul, every soul
-
in bondage today receive
Your resurrection power,
-
receive the gift of eyes that can see,
-
the gift of ears that can hear
-
what Jesus, what the Lord is saying
-
in these present circumstances.
-
Lord, we bring them to you, Lord.
-
I pray, let the peace of heart,
-
enter them in the name of Jesus.
-
Let the peace of Christ,
which the world cannot give,
-
enter their consciousness, enter their mind.
-
Let their mind be renewed
in the mighty name of Jesus.
-
Let their mind be renewed
-
to see Your goodness in their lives.
-
There is light.
-
There is light, there is hope,
-
there is healing, there
is faith in Your presence.
-
Jesus, we pray, oh Lord, open their eyes.
-
Open the eyes of their faith.
Open the eyes of their faith.
-
Manifest your strength to see, oh Lord,
-
there is a blessing in that situation
-
that the best is yet to come.
-
Father, release them. Release
them from all bondage.
-
Let the veil upon their heart
-
be taken away in the name of Jesus.
-
Let the weight upon their soul be removed
-
in the name of Jesus.
-
Let the hardship...
-
When Moses came in
Exodus chapter 6 verse 9
-
to proclaim Your deliverance
to the people of Israel,
-
the Bible says because of hardship,
-
they were unable to attend to that word.
-
Lord Jesus, let Your uncommon peace visit them, Lord,
-
in the mighty name of Jesus.
-
Before they open their
mouth to speak, locate them.
-
Locate them in Your mercy.
Locate them in Your favor.
-
Locate them by Your spirit
in the name of Jesus.
-
Let the veil be taken away
in the mighty name of Jesus.
-
Let them experience your
presence, your uncommon peace.
-
Oh Lord, we bring those souls to you
-
by interceding for our people today, Lord.
-
We put their problem, their
burden into Your hand, Jesus.
-
Let Your peace enter the
heart, enter their home.
-
Let them see the transformation
of grace in their life,
-
in the mighty name of Jesus,
in the mighty kingdom of Jesus.
-
Let there be light in their spirit.
-
Let there be light in their
heart. Let there be light.
-
Let there be revival.
Revival, revival, revival.
-
In the name of Jesus.
-
Lord, You intercede for us in Heaven.
-
Hebrews chapter 7 and chapter 8.
-
You are our mediator, Lord.
-
Jesus, we pray.
-
We bring every soul, every
soul who is under bondage,
-
every believer whose
faith has been shaken.
-
Oh Lord, I pray, let there be restoration,
-
visitation from the Holy
Spirit in the name of Jesus.
-
In the name of Jesus,
in the name of Jesus.
-
Father, manifest your strength
in their weaknesses we pray.
-
Give them strength. Give them strength.
-
Give them strength to endure
-
whatever you want them to endure.
-
Give them strength to
go through the narrow way.
-
That's the narrow way the leads to life.
-
Lord Jesus, give the grace to
be conscious of their faith.
-
Strengthen their faith to believe.
-
Give them joy to believe a
man of faith can be happy
-
whereas there is nothing to
be happy about on the outside.
-
A man can be poor and be a friend of God.
-
Oh Lord, visit them as you visited Job.
-
Visit them as you visited Job.
-
When everybody abandons them,
-
Lord, revive them in the name of Jesus.
-
Revive them in the name of
Jesus. Revive their faith.
-
Revive their faith. Renew their faith.
-
Strengthen their faith.
Strengthen them Lord.
-
Strengthen them Lord. In
the mighty name of Jesus.
-
Father, as Elisha prayed, we pray.
-
Open the eyes of their heart
to see the goodness of God.
-
Open their ears to harken
to the inner voice
-
of the Holy Spirit.
-
Father, give them the
gift of dreams to see,
-
oh Lord, beyond this situation,
-
what God's saying in that situation.
-
Strengthen their heart to come before You
-
with praise and worship.
-
Let the darkness disappear
in the name of Jesus.
-
Let satan be defeated
in the name of Jesus.
-
Every yoke of satan,
-
every doubt of the enemy,
be crushed, be removed
-
in the name of Jesus.
-
Let there be faith. Let there be hope.
-
Let there be strength.
Let there be revival.
-
In your heart, I speak to your heart.
-
Lift up to Jesus in the
mighty name of Jesus.
-
Begin to praise the Lord.
-
Begin to worship God and
see the mighty deliverance
-
the Lord we give You today.
-
Lift your voice to Him.
-
Begin to praise Him. Begin to honour Him.
-
Begin to worship Him.
-
As Moses said, today you will
see the mighty deliverance
-
that God will give you today.
-
The Lord will provide.
-
Jehovah Jireh will provide for Himself.
-
God is faithful for those
who are faithful to Him.
-
Lift up your voice. Ask Him.
-
Ask Him to revive your faith.
-
Begin to honour Him. Begin to praise Him.
-
Begin to give thanks to God
-
for the best which is yet to
come in the name of Jesus,
-
in the name of Jesus,
in the name of Jesus,
-
in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
-
Amen.
-
Thank you Jesus. Thank you Lord.
-
God is faithful to those
who are faithful to Him.
-
Bring your heart to Him
and begin to praise Him.
-
Begin to worship Him.
-
Begin to thank Him from
the bottom of your heart.
-
If your situation crushes you so much
-
you cannot utter a word,
-
even the groans of your heart God knows.
-
Jesus is faithful and God is never late.
-
It is never too late as far
as it is the will of God.
-
Someone is watching you.
Someone is awaiting to you.
-
Just believe. Thank you Jesus.
-
- Amen.
