Scootaloo: "Nice moves?!"

Rainbow Dash thinks I've got- (crash)

(cow moos)

(My Little Pony) Twilight: I used to wonder what friendship could be

(My Little Pony) Until you all shared its magic with me

Rainbow Dash: Big adventure
Pinkie Pie: Tons of fun

Rarity: A beautiful heart
Applejack: Faithful and strong

Fluttershy: Sharing kindness
Twilight: It's an easy feat

(checkers piece clacks on board)
Scootaloo: ...Then all of a sudden, I'M AIRBORNE!

And then Rainbow Dash looks over and was like,
(imitating Rainbow Dash) "Nice moves, kid."

Applebloom: (awed) Wow!
Sweetie Belle: She really said that?

Scootaloo: I mean, it's like she practically told me
she wants to take me under her wing,

teach me everything she knows,
and become like my big sister!

Applebloom: I dunno about all that.

Sweetie Belle: It was
a really nice compliment and all, but-

Scootaloo: I know, I know...but all that
stuff I said COULD happen, right?

Applebloom: (uncertain) Sure!
Sweetie Belle: (hesitantly) Absolutely!

Scootaloo: I just need to find a way
to spend some time with her.

You know, so she can see more
of my awesomeness.

Applebloom: Well, uh...Applejack 'n'I are supposed to be
campin' up at Windsome Falls this weekend.
[Winsome Adante + Windsor Falls]

Maybe I could get my big sis to invite Rainbow
Dash, and then you could come, too!

Scootaloo: REALLY?! | Applebloom: Sure!
Sweetie Belle: (pouting) I wanna go...

Applebloom: Well, duh. Of course you can go.

Sweetie Belle: And I'll get Rarity to come, too!

(conniving) Rarity LOVES camping!

Rarity: (disgusted) I DESPISE camping.

All of that... (grimaces loudly) nature...

Sweetie Belle: (protesting) Applejack's going with
HER little sister...

(dejectedly) But...y'know...if you don't
wanna spend time with me...

Rarity: (caving) Oh, all right!

(perking up) Ooh, of course, I will need to find
an outfit more appropriate for "roughing it."

Sweetie Belle: (smugly) See? Told you
she'd wanna go.

(water flowing gently)

Applejack: You packed your bug spray?

Applebloom: Yep! You got the canteens?

(rumbling)
Applejack: Yep! Looks like we're all set, then.

(cart creaking with luggage)

Rarity: (genially) Hey~!

Applejack: (sarcastically) Gee, Rarity.
Did you remember to pack?

Rarity: Oh, well, let's see who gets the last
laugh when you're absolutely desperate to curl your lashes,

and you realize you didn't bring
your eyelash curler.

Applejack: Well, looks like we're all set NOW...

Scootaloo: (anxious) But...what about
Rainbow Dash?!

Isn't Rainbow Dash coming?!

Applejack: 'Course she is, Sugarcube.
She's gonna meet us up at our first campsite.

Scootaloo: Oh.
Applejack: All right, y'all. Let's move 'em out.

Rarity: (whining) Oh, are we THERE yet?

Applejack: (crossly) The last thousand
times you asked that, the answer was "no."

(genially) This time, it's actually "yes."

(air whooshing)
There's Rainbow Dash up there right now.

(driving electric guitar rhythm,
Rainbow Dash impacts trees)

(splash)

(rocks clatter on ground)

Scootaloo: (to self) All right, Scootaloo.
Just play it cool.

Hey, Rai-WHOOOA! (whooshing through air then crash)

(clears throat; weakly) Hey, Rainbow Dash. What's up?

Rainbow Dash: What TOOK you guys so long?

Applejack: (pointedly) Well, SOME of us didn't pack
as LIGHT as the others,

so we were slowed down a bit.

(Applejack pounding stake in)

Rainbow Dash: Looks like you'll be sharing
a tent with me, huh?

Scootaloo: (bashfully) I-if that's okay
with you. (nervous chuckle)

Rainbow Dash: Sure! As long as you don't snore.

(cart creaking in background)
Rainbow Dash: You don't snore, do you?

Scootaloo: (deflecting) Nope, no way. Not me.
Never snored a day, or (chuckles) a night, in my life.

Rainbow Dash: Then you and I are gonna
get along just fine.

(wind blasting)

Rainbow Dash: ...You have GOT to be kidding me.

Rarity: Sweetie Belle, do be a dear and see
if you can find some fresh flowers

for my bedside vase.

Rainbow Dash: (imitating Rarity) Hey, Scootaloo,
do you be a sweetheart and see if you can gather some firewood?

(Scootaloo and Applebloom giggle)

(normal tone) Seriously, though. Can you
get us some wood for the fire?

Scootaloo: Of course!

(wood catches fire)

Rainbow Dash: Okay, everybody get comfortable.

'Cause I'm about to tell you the best story
you've ever heard.

Scootaloo: Is it about the time when
Rarity had wings,

and then it got ruined, and then you saved her
from plummeting to her doom?!

Rainbow Dash: ...Okay, maybe it's the
SECOND-best story you've ever heard,

but probably still the scariest.

(BGM: eerie theremin vibrato)
You like scary stories, right...? (Scootaloo gasps)

Scootaloo: (nervously) Mm-hmm!

Rainbow Dash: It all happened on a night
just like this one,

in a forest just like this.

...And then, the olden pony asked,

(feigning old pony voice) "Who's got my
rusty horseshoe?"

Sweetie Belle: (frightened) Not me!

Rainbow Dash: YOU DO!
(Applebloom and Sweetie Belle scream,
Rainbow Dash guffaws, Scootaloo coughs)

Scootaloo: (clears throat nervously)
Something in my throat...

(unconvincingly) I wasn't scared at all!

(nervous chuckle, voice cracking) Good story!

Rainbow Dash: I knew YOU wouldn't be scared.

The way you jumped that cart the other day?
You're like me.

Rainbow Dash: Fearless.
Scootaloo: (trembling) Yeah! Fearless!

(owl hoots)

Rarity: (matronly) Don't worry. Rarity
is here to keep you safe and sound. (squeals)

Applejack: (yawns) Think it's about time
for me to hit the straw.

(comfortingly) Don't you worry, little sis.
There's no olden pony in our tent.

Scootaloo: (trembling) Haha, that sure was
funny, wasn't it? (nervous chuckle)

How they were all afraid of the olden pony?
(stifles nervous laugh with cough)

Scootaloo: But not me!
Rainbow Dash: That's because you're tough.

Just like when I was your age.

(Rainbow Dash pours water on fire,
Scootaloo screams)

Rainbow Dash: I'm hitting the sack.
Come in whenever you feel like it.

(twig snaps)

Scootaloo: (quivering) It's nothing.
It's my imagination.

(branches creaking)

And THAT isn't the thundering stomp of the olden pony...

(wind roaring, wolf howling)

(Rainbow Dash snoring loudly)

(distant, incoherent speech)

(zipper unzips, distant speech)
Scootaloo: (nervously) Is anyone out there?

(slow, rhythmic stomping sound)

(pony mumbling)

Olden pony: Who's got my rusty horseshoe?

(Scootaloo whimpering and panting)

(branch creaks, Scootaloo screams)

(branch snaps)

(Scootaloo sighs with relief)

Olden pony: Who's got my rusty horseshoe?

(Scootaloo screams)

(Scootaloo panting)

Scootaloo: Rainbow Dash-
Olden pony: YOU DO!

(Scootaloo screams, Rainbow Dash snoring)

(Scootaloo whimpering timidly)

(Scootaloo whimpering timidly, Rainbow Dash yawns)

(Scootaloo whimpering)
Rainbow Dash: What's that noise?

Is there a bug in here?

I don't know about you, but I slept like a filly.

Scootaloo: (unhinged) Best night ever!
Rainbow Dash: Glad you rested up,

because we've got a LONG trek ahead of us.

Totally gonna be worth it when we get to
Windsome Falls.

Scootaloo: Yeah...totally...

(Rarity yawning melodramatically,
water splashes on her head)

Rarity: Am I sweating?! I think I'm sweating!

Oh, but it's absolutely worth it to get to
spend time with my little sister.

(whining) It's just that this cart feels like
it's getting heavier all the time!

Applejack: (voice echoing) I don't care
if that cart's as heavy as a pack of mules.

If we don't get a move on, it'll be dark
before we get to the campsite.

Scootaloo: (panicked) "DARK?!"

(Scootaloo's wings buzzing)
(nonchalantly) I'll just ride ahead and make
sure the path is clear.

We don't wanna be out here after dark, right?

Rainbow Dash: Doesn't matter to me.

Scootaloo: Well, y'know...
It's for the scaredy-ponies. (nervous chuckle)

(Scootaloo's wings buzzing)

(Scootaloo yawns)

(Scootaloo gasps and shakes self awake)

Can't fall asleep now...

You've got to get to that campsite before dark.

(Scootaloo snoring)

(alligator growls)

(bear roars)

Rarity: (distant, semi-incoherent) A girl is always prepared
to bring her own truck in any eventuality.

Scootaloo: (grunts and wakes up)
Don't come this way!

Take the path. It's WAY better than
going through the bushes.

(Applejack snaps twig, Scootaloo yelps)

(SFX: artillery shell whizzing, Scootaloo crashes)

Applejack: You're more nervous than a worm
in an apple on Cider Makin' Day.

Applejack: What gives, Scootaloo?
Scootaloo: (nervously) Nothing.

I just thought I heard something. (chuckles)

(owl hoots, Scootaloo yelps and tunnels backwards)

Applejack: You sure you're okay...?

You seem a little jumpy.

Scootaloo: Just getting my exercise!

You know how important it is to stretch
out those hindquarters every so often.

(frog croaks)

Scootaloo: You need a little help?
Rarity: Oh, that's so sweet. Thank you.

Scootaloo: Um...what are friends for?

(Scootaloo straining, cart creaking)

Applejack: No need for tents tonight, y'all.

We'll just take shelter in that cave.

Rainbow Dash: All right!

A deep, dark cave! Perfect
for the story I've got for tonight.

All we need is a campfire,
and we're good to go.

Scootaloo: (gulps nervously) Of course...
(wolf howls) Be right back with lots of firewood

from the deep, dark, not scary at all forest!

Rainbow Dash: Thanks.

(growling)

(Scootaloo hyperventilating)

(self-assuring sigh)

Okay...I can do this...

On the count of three, I just get those branches.

One...

Two...

Three!

(teeth chattering)

(groans)

(quivering singsong) Here, branches, branches, branches!

Applejack: (shivers loudly) Whoo-wee!

It's colder than a timberwolf's toenail.

(shivers) Where's that Scootaloo?

(Scootaloo yelling and panicking)

Scootaloo: (uncharacteristically high pitch)
Here you go...

Rainbow Dash: That's it...?
Scootaloo: It's all I could find,

since, y'know, there aren't that many
trees around here...

Applejack: (reassuringly) It's all we need.
Why don't you sit with Rainbow Dash for a while?

(Applejack rubbing sticks, fire roars to life)

Rainbow Dash: Now, where was I...?

Oh, yeah. (spookily) The scary part!

(corny evil laugh)

Scootaloo: Hey, I have an idea!

How about I tell tonight's story?

Rainbow Dash: ...All right. Just
make sure it's a horrible one.

Scootaloo: There once was a really, really nice pony
who lived in a bright and sunny land

where there are rainbows every day and
lots and lots of happy friends and-

Rainbow Dash: No offense, but it's not a real
campfire story unless somepony's shaking.

(spookily) I've been told that these
very woods are haunted...

(Scootaloo gulps)
by the Headless Horse!

Rainbow Dash: It gallops only at night-
Applejack: (sarcastically) If it doesn't have a head,

then how in tarnation does this pony
know where it's going?

Rainbow Dash: It's headless, not brainless.

(spookily) Looking for little lost ponies...

Applejack: So, where is its brain?

Rainbow Dash: Ugh. Fear was dripping from the air...
(fades into next part)

...And they were never heard from EVER AGAIN!

Sweetie Belle: (gasps, screechy squeal)
Never...?!

Rainbow Dash: Never.

(fire crackles, Applebloom and Sweetie
Belle scream)

(both laughing)

(Scootaloo's teeth chattering)

Rarity: Don't worry. You'll be safe
with me tonight.

Scootaloo: It's not time for bed yet, is it?!

Applejack: 'Fraid so, Scootaloo.

Scootaloo: Um, but we haven't listened
to any campfire songs yet!

Sweetie Belle: You don't have to ask me twice!

(Rainbow Dash crashes into ground)
(loudly, off-rhythm and out of tune, tune of "99 Bottles of Beer")
99 buckets of oats on the wall, 99 buckets of oats

(seamlessly fading from line to line)
Take one down, pass it around

so how 'bout we mess up a cave floor?

I have a brilliant idea!

Hide and seek; who's with me?!

Applebloom: (yawns groggily) Maybe tomorrow...

Scootaloo: Aww...

Applejack: Seems like you don't really wanna go to
sleep tonight. Is there some reason why?

Scootaloo: (scoffs) Of course not!

I just LOVE camping and hanging out with
Rainbow Dash so much that I don't wanna waste

a single minute with (dismissively) sleep.

(yawns deeply, chuckles nervously) Silly sleep...

Rainbow Dash: That's cool and all, Scoots,
(raising volume) but this pony needs her shut-eye,

and she needs it now.

Scootaloo: (moans) This is so unfair...

(yawns) I'm...falling asleep...

(scoring)

(hoofsteps)

(hoofsteps quicken in pace)

(engine roaring SFX)

Scootaloo: If the Headless Horse catches me,
I'm never gonna be heard from again!

And I wanna be heard from!

(trips, screams)

Whoa, whoa!

(screaming) It's all oveeeer!

(Scootaloo yelling fearfully)

Luna: (voice reverberating) A warm welcome
to you, Scootaloo.

(poof)

Scootaloo: (relieved) Princess Luna!
I thought you were the Headless Horse!

Luna: You were mistaken, but I hope not disappointed.

Scootaloo: You are so, SO much better
than the Headless Horse.

...But what are you doing here?

Shouldn't you be in Canterlot?

Luna: I am the princess of the night.

Thus, it is my duty to come into your dreams.

Scootaloo: Oh, yeah...wait. This is just a dream?

But it feels so real... (pulsing waves)

Luna: I assure you that you are asleep.

But when you wake, the thing that frightens
you most will still exist.

Scootaloo: (quivering) The Headless Horse?

Luna: Hm. Is the Headless Horse REALLY what
frightens you the most?

Scootaloo: (dejectedly) Mm-mm.

I'm afraid Rainbow Dash will find out I'm not as tough
as she thinks I am.

Luna: Everypony has fears, Scootaloo.

Everypony must face them in their own way.

But they must be faced, or the nightmares
will continue.

(Scootaloo moans, pulsing wave SFX)

Luna: (Canterlot voice) Face your fears!

Scootaloo: Princess Luna...?!

(relieved sigh) It was just a dream...

(water dripping noisily)

Scootaloo: (gasps) But the Headless Horse isn't!

Rainbow Dash said it lives here
in these very woods!

(distant, echoing whinnying)

(panicked) It's the wicked whinny
of the Headless Horse!

(Scootaloo's wings buzzing)

(Rainbow Dash snoring, making same whinny sound)

(Scootaloo's wings buzzing)
So, it's a horse without a head...

which means it doesn't have a mouth...

and if it doesn't have a mouth, then it's not
a horsey pony, but a horse...

but still, it's a HORSE WITHOUT A HEAD!

(wheels screeching, Scootaloo yelling)

(water flowing rapidly)

(water splashes)

Hello...? Is anyone out there?

(trembling) Anyone except Headless Horse?

(branch snaps, Scootaloo yelps)

(Scootaloo gasps for air)

(tense music)

(Scootaloo yelling, fading into distance)

Rainbow Dash: I've got you!
Scootaloo: Rainbow Dash?!

Is that you?! Thank you, thank you!

Rainbow Dash: WHAT were you DOING out here
in the middle of the night?!

Luna: (reverberating) It is time for you
to face your real fear, Scootaloo!

(Scootaloo sighs heavily)

Scootaloo: I'm so, so sorry, Rainbow Dash.

I just wanted you to hang out with me
and see how cool I was

so you'd take me under your wing
and teach me everything you know

and become like my big sister!

But then you started telling all those spooky stories,
and I got scared!

(hyperventilating, tearing up)
I thought I heard the Headless Horse,

so I ran out here by myself, and-

(choking back tears) Well...

I guess you know the rest.

Rainbow Dash: (reassuringly) Hey. I'm gonna
tell you something, but...

If you ever tell anypony else, I'm gonna deny it.

First time I heard those stories?

I was scared too.

Scootaloo: (sniffling) Y-you were?

Rainbow Dash: Sure. I mean, I got over it
because I realized pretty quick that

if there WAS such thing as a Headless Horse,
I could TOTALLY take it on.

So, you're lookin' for somepony
to take you under their wing, huh?

Scootaloo: Mm-hmm.

Rainbow Dash: Yeah. I might be up for something
like that.

Scootaloo: Really?!
Rainbow Dash: As long as you don't go

falling into any more rivers in the middle
of the night.

Scootaloo: (laughs) It's a deal.

Sweetie Belle: I call sister teams!
Last pair to make it to the falls is a moldy carrot!

Rarity: Ugh, if you insist.

(giggles) It is SO on!

Rainbow Dash: They think THEY can beat
the two of US?

(pony muttering incoherently)

Olden pony: Who's got my rusty horseshoe?

Rainbow Dash: Here it is, for pony's sake.

Now, take it, and stop all your moaning.

Olden pony: Thank you, and have a nice day.

(Luna giggles)

(ending theme begins) My Little Pony
