I've written several comments below about the translation :
- There is a PowerPoint Presentation in Spanish in this video which has not been translated into English (from 10:12.429 to 14:33.468 approx.)
- Check how the text has been translated into English since English does not necessarily use the same phrasing as in Spanish.This makes some of the ideas difficult to understand. Using google or monolingual dictionaries to see how to use certain words/phrases may be helpful. However, some other sentences/phrases are well-written.
- There are grammar mistakes that need to be checked. For example, "news" is neither plural nor preceded by "a"; and some verbs should take "-s" with a singular subject.
- There are some words that have been used that do not necessarily have a literal translation into English, such as "dedicarse" or "demostrar".
- On the minute 15:50.269, the speaker does not specify which "Universidad de Santiago" he's talking about; so I'm not sure it is U. de Santiago de Compostela or U. de Santiago de Chile or any other.
- I think that even when the speaker at times switches between "you, "we" and "one", we should try to be consistent in the same stream of thought when translating¨, so it's easier for viewers to follow the speaker's ideas.
- Punctuation needs to be reviewed. Since many times the phrasing in both languages differs, the punctuation may as well.
- Some subtitles are two long. I suggest trying to split or shorten them. The guide "How to Create good subtitles" by TED is a useful source for this.
- Try to cut phrases/sentences adequately. The "How to Create good subtitles" is a useful source for this, too.
- Make sure to google official names, such as "Sociedad Americana de Psicologia."
