Day 0 - The 7 Day Online IAM Retreat (Intensive Sadhana)

  • 0:19 - 0:22
This invitation is a seed that will find
  • 0:22 - 0:25
fertile ground in those who are ready to
  • 0:25 - 0:28
create conditions of No Escape within
  • 0:28 - 0:31
the self-structure to engage in what has
  • 0:31 - 0:33
been called sadhana in the ancient
  • 0:33 - 0:35
    traditions
  • 0:35 - 0:39
The wisdom of No Escape is not a
  • 0:39 - 0:42
technique practice or more doing for the
  • 0:42 - 0:45
conditioned self but it is a stripping
  • 0:45 - 0:47
    away of Illusion.
  • 0:47 - 0:50
At the beginning of this seven day online
  • 0:50 - 0:53
Retreat we will offer some preliminary
  • 0:53 - 0:56
practices to stabilize and settle the
  • 0:56 - 0:59
conditioned mind, but we will eventually
  • 0:59 - 1:03
let go of all doing all manipulation and
  • 1:03 - 1:06
control of the Mind as we go deeper into
  • 1:06 - 1:08
    being.
  • 1:08 - 1:12
The online I am Retreat involves going
  • 1:12 - 1:16
beyond our comfort zone. Letting go of
  • 1:16 - 1:18
    comfort and discomfort,
  • 1:18 - 1:21
and entering into The Cloud of Unknowing,
  • 1:21 - 1:24
    entering into a beginner's mind.
  • 1:24 - 1:27
It is in this Stillness of the humbled
  • 1:27 - 1:31
mind, that one is more likely to awaken.
  • 1:32 - 1:34
During this intensive, you will enter
  • 1:34 - 1:37
into Stillness with people from around
  • 1:37 - 1:39
the world, who are drawn to the path of
  • 1:39 - 1:42
    Awakening. This meditation and
  • 1:42 - 1:44
    self-inquiry intensive allows you to
  • 1:44 - 1:47
create conditions within your own home,
  • 1:47 - 1:49
which allow you to come to Stillness.
  • 1:49 - 1:52
Both externally as you shut out all
  • 1:52 - 1:56
distractions, and internally as the mind
  • 1:56 - 1:57
    settles.
  • 1:58 - 2:01
The online I.A.M Retreat is based on the
  • 2:01 - 2:04
retreats at the Samadhi Center which
  • 2:04 - 2:06
have been evolving for many years, and
  • 2:06 - 2:08
I've put together all my favorite
  • 2:08 - 2:11
    techniques and practices that have
  • 2:11 - 2:14
helped me on my own path, what I consider
  • 2:14 - 2:16
to be the best tools on the planet for
  • 2:16 - 2:19
    awakening. The Retreat will include
  • 2:19 - 2:22
    guided and silent meditation periods
  • 2:22 - 2:25
each day, live and recorded daily
  • 2:25 - 2:28
    teachings, a daily Q&A where I'll be
  • 2:28 - 2:31
present to answer your questions, and
  • 2:31 - 2:33
address whatever's coming up in your
  • 2:33 - 2:36
practice such as the hindrances that we
  • 2:36 - 2:39
face in meditation. We'll be doing
  • 2:39 - 2:42
    self-inquiry dyads every evening.
  • 2:42 - 2:45
You will work with Partners using the
  • 2:45 - 2:47
    most powerful and effective self-inquiry
  • 2:47 - 2:49
technique that we know of. There will be
  • 2:49 - 2:52
daily sound healing and teachings from
  • 2:52 - 2:54
    various traditions,
  • 2:54 - 2:56
and there will be a guided breath
  • 2:56 - 2:59
    session for releasing deep samskaras,
  • 2:59 - 3:02
energy that's been caught in unconscious
  • 3:02 - 3:03
    patterns.
  • 3:03 - 3:06
In the evening there will be Yoga Nidra,
  • 3:06 - 3:09
which is a guided meditation to take you
  • 3:09 - 3:12
    consciously into the sleep cycle.
  • 3:12 - 3:14
In this Retreat we're putting into place
  • 3:14 - 3:17
conditions of No Escape for the egoic
  • 3:17 - 3:18
    mind.
  • 3:18 - 3:22
    Continuous unbroken single-pointed
  • 3:22 - 3:25
practice is the key to Samadhi.
  • 3:25 - 3:28
    Participants are encouraged to withdraw
  • 3:28 - 3:30
from all mental activities for the
  • 3:30 - 3:33
duration of the retreat, such as reading,
  • 3:33 - 3:37
watching TV, computers, phones, or other
  • 3:37 - 3:41
devices, and to turn continuously towards
  • 3:41 - 3:44
the self. The intention is to have a
  • 3:44 - 3:47
direct experience of your true nature,
  • 3:47 - 3:51
    unmediated by the condition Self.
  • 3:51 - 3:53
Wherever you are in your practice,
  • 3:53 - 3:56
    whether you're a beginner or you've been
  • 3:56 - 3:58
on the path for a while, we're here to
  • 3:58 - 4:01
    support you. Although everyone's journey
  • 4:01 - 4:03
    is unique and individual,
  • 4:03 - 4:05
we'll be going through this process
  • 4:05 - 4:07
    together.
  • 4:09 - 4:11
In Zen it is said that Awakening happens
  • 4:11 - 4:13
    by accident,
  • 4:13 - 4:16
but deep practice makes us accident
  • 4:16 - 4:18
    prone
