happy hearts day yall !!

thank you to everyone who volunteered their twt @s for this video hhh hopefully, i matched everyone's @s and info correctly (also, the stats shown for each tweet were done at random!)

anw, i was initially planning on uploading an asmr video today but i saw this song again on my recommended and this idea instantly popped up in my head. i've been meaning to make a video/audio showcase like this with a story + different concepts to match each ""scene"" (i tried to make transitions as smooth as possible). plus, i wanted to do smth extra sweet for valentine's day (i watch a lot of kdramas, can u tell?? ahaha).

also, no clear photos/videos/voices for this one cuz im tryna keep it gender neutral as much as possible - imagine whoever u want to imagine !!

all the love,
even tmrw,

▶ what do you use?
i use adobe audition (for mixing) and adobe premiere pro (for putting it all together).

▶ how can i make it sound like this [specific concept]?
i play around with the reverbs, eqs, bass, volume etc. - constantly changing things, adding things, deleting things - until it sounds okay to me. i also like to separate the vocals and instrumentals sometimes so it gives me more flexibility to make it sound as realistic as possible (like for concert edits, bar edits). tbh, i never have a certain way of editing which is why one car edit might sound different than another car edit (plus, all songs are mixed differently so one song might sound good as a car edit and another might sound off). that's rly it!

▶ any tips to making it sound good/realistic?
many of you have expressed getting inspired from my edits and wanting to make an edit for your fav artists/songs and that makes me so happy to hear! it has always been on my agenda to create some sort of tutorial video for you guys but whenever i try, it's just me not saying anything and just listening to the audio. ironically, that IS my process: listening - listening to my surroundings, to audios in films, and then to the work i make.

i understand that many of us learn by example, so, i decided to create an audio showcase that you can use as a reference to mimic the sounds to fit whatever concept you want. that way, it doesn't matter which program/app you use + you can find a method that works for you (mine is always changing, messy, and one that might not work for everyone!)

[TO BE UPDATED]

i also use sound effects to add to the realism! most of them are royalty-free from youtube and other times, i just record them on my own (using a zoom h1).

▶ any more tips please? it's still not sounding the same : (

i will update this when i think of something more concrete, but a lot of it is really just listening to what you're making and observing the sounds of life. of course, there are a lot of concepts i've never experienced myself irl and i'll never really know what if it sounds real/right - BUT it's what i imagine them to sound like and that's all that matters.

if you're the type who learns by example and are pretty interested or serious in audio/sound mixing, you could also try paying attention to subtle sounds in films (you can search up things like foley where professionals add/edit sounds to match certain scenes in a movie - it's pretty cool).

i do this just for fun so if you're like me, i suggest you do the same! just play around with whatever program you have! it's why i like calling my edits love letters to life because it's just me trying to recreate specific moments in life, in a completely edited video with music i love. if it doesn't sound exactly the same to what you're making, that's fine. one moment might sound different to you than it does to me! i've never figure skated in my life so i will never truly know what skating in a large skating rink is like, but maybe you will. it's def a learning process for me as i continue to experience life more, basically.

good luck and happy creating!
