Riff #17: So What - Miles Davis (Songs Guitar Lesson RF-017) How to play
Description:

Justin's Completely Free Guitar Lessons, Riff Lesson #17 RF-017.

So What is an awesome song from the Miles Davis album Kind Of Blue (if you have not heard this album, you totally should!!). The riff on the original version is played on bass and the chord played on the piano by the legend Bill Evans.

Because it's a modal tune it is very popular with blues and rock guys getting into jazz - you can kinda use blues licks and it works. My fave guitar version is the Larry Carlton cover on the album Last Night.

If you are digging this then make sure you check out my lesson on Chords built in 4ths which is how you'd do the rhythm for this tune!
