you will become cranky and imagine things.
  • 18:37 - 18:40
I swear to you there is absolutely
    nothing between me and her.
  • 18:40 - 18:43
Her upbringing under the Dowager was strict,
thus a relationship would not be permitted.
  • 18:43 - 18:47
Isn't your family upbringing strict as well?
Yet a relationship still occurred between us.
  • 18:47 - 18:49
A strict family upbringing is useless.
  • 18:49 - 18:51
    You are being illogical!
  • 18:51 - 18:54
How can you link the narrative
    about us to others?
  • 18:54 - 18:57
It is extremely unfair to me for
you to force upon me that past.
  • 18:57 - 19:03
You're simply unworthy of my sincere treatment
and my good faith to inform you of the past.
  • 19:03 - 19:07
I'm sorry. I was somewhat not my normal self.
  • 19:07 - 19:14
QingEr is so beautiful, eloquent and
infinitely resourceful in front of the Dowager.
  • 19:14 - 19:20
I feel... I feel that she is a threat to me.
  • 19:20 - 19:26
I am afraid... I am afraid...
  • 19:26 - 19:28
It is my bad... It is my bad.
  • 19:28 - 19:32
I shouldn't have let you know the past,
and I was wrong to raise my voice.
  • 19:32 - 19:37
Frankly, I have only one simple
message, that is, please trust me.
  • 19:37 - 19:41
There is only you in my heart,
no matter what happens. I'm speaking the truth.
  • 19:41 - 19:45
There is only you for eternity.
  • 19:45 - 19:53
Do not fear. Nobody can be a threat to you.
Nobody can be or ever will be a threat.
  • 19:53 - 19:58
Don't say anything more. Let me return.
If we are seen now, what will others think?
  • 19:58 - 20:02
Do you trust me now? Do you trust me?
  • 20:02 - 20:06
    - I am unsure if I should trust you.
    - What do you mean by you are 'unsure'?
  • 20:06 - 20:08
What must I do to let you trust me?
  • 20:08 - 20:15
How about I go now and plead the Emperor to
grant the completion of our marriage at once?
  • 20:15 - 20:20
Don't do that; I will trust... trust you.
  • 20:20 - 20:25
    - Alright, I really need to leave now.
    - Let me send you off.
  • 20:25 - 20:30
    You don't have to.
  • 20:30 - 20:36
You said the second issue was about JinSuo?
    What do you mean?
  • 20:36 - 20:39
Let us not discuss this issue today.
You can't accept and handle so much all at once.
  • 20:39 - 20:43
    - We will discuss JinSuo's matter some other day.
    - Did JinSuo say anything to you?
  • 20:43 - 20:49
You are mistaken. It is what I need
to do: JinSuo must not be aggreived by me .
  • 20:49 - 20:54
    - It is really meaningful. - Yeah.
  • 20:54 - 20:55
    Keep this in mind.
  • 20:55 - 21:00
We talked alot but just remember:
only you are forever in my heart.
  • 21:03 - 21:06
    I am leaving now.
  • 21:17 - 21:19
GeGe, why have you been out for so long?
  • 21:19 - 21:23
You have just been summoned to the
Queen Dowager's CiNing Palace for a banquet.
  • 21:23 - 21:25
Two of you must be there as soon as possible.
  • 21:25 - 21:29
    - When was the notification sent?
  • 21:29 - 21:32
    Only the two GeGe(s) were
summoned or was I summoned as well?
  • 21:32 - 21:36
    - It seems you too because XiaoLuZi went to
JingYang Palace to look for you. - Yes.
  • 21:36 - 21:39
    - No, I am not attending.
    - How can you not attend?
  • 21:39 - 21:42
No one dares to say no to a banquet
    hosted by the Queen Dowager.
  • 21:42 - 21:43
Even the Emperor has to attend.
  • 21:43 - 21:46
    But... we don't know
    where ZiWei and Erkang are.
  • 21:46 - 21:47
    XiaoDengZi XiaoZhuoZi
  • 21:47 - 21:51
Quickly search for ZiWei GeGe in the Imperial
Garden. Once located, let her change
  • 21:51 - 21:52
and proceed quickly to CiNing Palace.
  • 21:52 - 21:55
    Zha!
  • 21:55 - 21:58
Do I really have to go? I've neither
changed nor put on my head-dress.
  • 21:58 - 22:01
I will surely be late again after that.
Bad luck will strike me again.
  • 22:01 - 22:04
    Fortunately... this time, you
    are not covered with paint.
  • 22:04 - 22:06
MingYue CaiXia, quickly come and help.
  • 22:06 - 22:11
5th Prince, you should hurry to CiNing Palace
and help the two GeGe(s) stall for time.
  • 22:11 - 22:13
I also need to return and change.
  • 22:13 - 22:16
Or else my 'han chinese' appearance
    would certainly anger the Dowager.
  • 22:46 - 22:54
Where exactly are XiaoYanZi and ZiWei?
Why did the GeGe(s) privately leave the Palace?
  • 22:54 - 22:58
Consort Ling is turning a blind eye to them.
  • 22:58 - 23:02
    Your servant realises her fault.
Your servant's consideration was not thoughtful.
  • 23:02 - 23:08
They are solely visiting Minister FuLun's home.
It is proper to pay visits to one's relatives.
  • 23:08 - 23:14
I find your excuse totally unconvincing.
They can't leave here for anywhere. Period.
  • 23:14 - 23:20
    A well-behaved GeGe definitely
does not casually leave the Palace.
  • 23:20 - 23:25
    Did QingEr ever leave
the Palace on her own accord?
  • 23:25 - 23:30
Yes... in the future, your servant
    will certainly enforce strict discipline.
  • 23:30 - 23:33
Imperial Mother, you need not be too concerned.
  • 23:33 - 23:39
ZiWei and XiaoYanZi, had received my exemption
to leave the Palace with an informed consent.
  • 23:39 - 23:41
The two girls were raised in the common folk.
  • 23:41 - 23:45
I would rather not impose shackling
imperial rules on the two of them.
  • 23:45 - 23:50
The Emperor is mistaken: the management of
Princes' and GeGe(s)' behaviors is different.
  • 23:50 - 23:56
    Even Princes can't casually leave
the Palace, not to mention GeGe(s).
  • 23:56 - 24:01
If something goes awry, who is responsible?
  • 24:01 - 24:08
    - YongQi, were they with you outside the Palace?
    - Replying to the Queen Dowager... yes.
  • 24:08 - 24:11
    You only visited FuLun's home?
  • 24:11 - 24:12
    Yes.
  • 24:12 - 24:14
    What did you do there?
  • 24:14 - 24:15
    Replying... to Queen Dowager,
  • 24:15 - 24:22
The GeGe(s) only chatted with FuLun's spouse.
I was with Erkang riding at the outskirts.
  • 24:22 - 24:24
    Was that all it was?
  • 24:24 - 24:29
HuanZhu GeGe arrives; ZiWei GeGe arrives.
  • 24:29 - 24:32
    Propitiousness to GeGe(s)...
  • 24:32 - 24:35
ZiWei salutes the Queen Dowager, wishes
peace and admits mistake to Dowager.
  • 24:35 - 24:41
    - I'm late as I was unaware of being summoned.
    - XiaoYanZi also admits mistake for being late.
  • 24:41 - 24:46
Where did the two of you go?
  • 24:51 - 24:53
    Fú Jiā. (Minister FuLun's home)
  • 24:53 - 24:55
    What's that?
  • 24:55 - 24:59
    Fú Jiā. (Minister FuLun's home)
  • 24:59 - 25:00
    Pú...
  • 25:00 - 25:06
    Fú Jiā. (Minister FuLun's home)
  • 25:06 - 25:09
    Pú Sà. (Buddha)
  • 25:09 - 25:14
XiaoYanZi, what did you say? Speak up.
  • 25:14 - 25:17
    We didn't go anywhere.
  • 25:17 - 25:25
    - We... replying to Dowager, visited Buddha.
    - What's that? What did you say?!
  • 25:25 - 25:28
    Fú Jiā. (Minister FuLun's home)
  • 25:28 - 25:31
    Replying to Queen Dowager,
we paid a visit to Buddha.
  • 25:31 - 25:35
We went to a temple and paid a visit to Buddha.
  • 25:35 - 25:37
    Mouthful of nonsense!
  • 25:37 - 25:42
I want you two to go kneel in the darkroom.
You are not to rise without my permission.
  • 25:42 - 25:45
RongMoMo, GuiMoMo... drag them over there.
  • 25:45 - 25:46
    Zha!
  • 25:46 - 25:53
XiaoYanZi, if you dare escape outside
again, I will break both of your legs.
  • 25:53 - 25:56
    If you don't believe me,
    then you can try me.
  • 25:56 - 25:58
    - RongMoMo. - Zha!
  • 26:10 - 26:13
    Queen Dowager, could it be
you really want to punish them?
  • 26:13 - 26:15
QingEr, you are not to plead for them.
  • 26:15 - 26:20
I listened to your intercession earlier and had
forgiven them. If I forgive them once more,
  • 26:20 - 26:26
they will turn bold, be arrogant of their own
abilites and will be even more badly behaved.
  • 26:26 - 26:29
    Nobody is allowed to intercede.
  • 26:29 - 26:30
    RongMoMo, GuiMoMo
  • 26:30 - 26:34
I am not going to the darkroom.
What kind of a place is the 'darkroom'?
  • 26:34 - 26:35
    - This... - I am not going.
  • 26:35 - 26:39
    - How dare you make a big fuss in this way!
    Slap her! - Zha!
  • 26:39 - 26:43
    How dare you hit me?!
  • 26:43 - 26:47
XiaoYanZi, don't resist further. Let the
Queen Dowager deal with our offences.
  • 26:47 - 26:50
I am not going to the darkroom!
What kind of place is the darkroom?!
  • 26:50 - 26:52
I don't want to go... I am never going!
  • 26:52 - 26:56
Imperial Father, you said before I could leave
the Palace, and also wouldn't be demanding.
  • 26:56 - 26:59
You said before I and ZiWei could
    be "impolite and lack manners".
  • 26:59 - 27:01
    Have you forgotten?!
  • 27:01 - 27:05
XiaoYanZi, what I said before did not include
"lying to cause trouble and talking rubbish".
  • 27:05 - 27:08
    Also, "rude, unreasonable
    and supercillious".
  • 27:14 - 27:19
Replying to Queen Dowager, the two GeGe(s)
were taken out by me. The mess is my fault.
  • 27:19 - 27:26
We had changed into clothes of commoners,
then visited two temples and saw many Buddhas.
  • 27:26 - 27:31
Queen Dowager, punish me and spare the GeGe(s).
  • 27:31 - 27:34
YongQi, you also have lost all sense of proportion.
  • 27:34 - 27:39
You are the elder who is no longer immature,
but why are you still so muddle-headed?
  • 27:39 - 27:44
Queen Dowager's rebuke is very instructive.
    YongQi realises his offence.
  • 27:44 - 27:49
    RongMoMo, GuiMoMo
  • 27:49 - 27:55
    !@#$%^&... OUCH!
RongMoMo is killing me! Pain is killing me!
  • 27:55 - 27:58
    XiaoYanZi...XiaoYanZi...
  • 27:58 - 28:02
    Wake up... XiaoYanZi...
  • 28:02 - 28:06
Wake up... what happened to you?
  • 28:06 - 28:10
RongMoMo! Did you prick her with a needle?
What have you done to her?
  • 28:10 - 28:14
You used poison? What did you poison her with?!
    Answer me! Answer me!
  • 28:14 - 28:18
Your lowly servant hasn't done anything.
Your lowly servant is innocent... innocent.
  • 28:18 - 28:24
    XiaoYanZi... wake up... XiaoYanZi...
  • 28:24 - 28:26
    XiaoYanZi
  • 28:26 - 28:28
    What happened to XiaoYanZi?
  • 28:28 - 28:32
    Imperial Father, ever since XiaoYanZi
was struck by the arrow last time,
  • 28:32 - 28:34
    her heart has developed complications.
  • 28:34 - 28:38
She's usually strong-minded, refusing to admit
and covering up the fact of her weak health.
  • 28:38 - 28:43
Her heart condition is lately recurring, and
she loses consciousness when she's provoked.
  • 28:43 - 28:47
A moment ago, it was unclear if RongMoMo
    employed underhand methods on her.
  • 28:47 - 28:51
    - After she was hurt, her condition soon relapsed.
    - What have you done to her? Admit it!
  • 28:51 - 28:55
Your lowly servant has done nothing.
Emperor, please show mercy... show mercy.
  • 28:55 - 29:01
You're an insidious beldam who is vicious,
narrow-minded and specializes in bullying the weak.
  • 29:01 - 29:04
    Don't forget your head is
    tenuously linked to your neck.
  • 29:04 - 29:08
You obviously knew these two GeGe(s) are most
beloved to me; yet, you dared to be vicious.
  • 29:08 - 29:11
Are you looking forward to losing your head?!
  • 29:11 - 29:14
    Mercy Emperor! Your lowly servant...
Your lowly servant realises her mistake.
  • 29:14 - 29:18
Your lowly servant realises her mistake.
Your lowly servant begs Emperor to show mercy.
  • 29:18 - 29:22
    Why wasn't I informed earlier about XiaoYanZi's
condition? Quickly summon imperial doctor Hu.
  • 29:22 - 29:25
Consort Ling, assign some servants to
carry the GeGe back to ShuFangZhai.
  • 29:25 - 29:28
    I understand.
  • 29:28 - 29:32
Imperial Mother, we should wait for the
children to recover before disciplining them.
  • 29:32 - 29:37
    Presently, treatment is more urgent.
  • 29:37 - 29:39
    Queen Dowager, please show mercy.
  • 29:39 - 29:43
These two GeGe(s) are frail and
have suffered awfully in the Palace.
  • 29:43 - 29:51
Emperor, don't worry. Your servant knows
an effective remedy to sudden fainting spells.
  • 29:55 - 29:57
    Holy sh^t!!
  • 29:57 - 30:00
Emperor, she has awakened like I promised.
  • 30:06 - 30:11
    Imperial Father, where am I?
  • 30:11 - 30:16
Why are there so many people around me?
  • 30:16 - 30:19
    Did I misbehave again?
  • 30:19 - 30:24
    I am sorry for repeatedly
    trangressing and dissapointing you.
  • 30:24 - 30:27
    I...
  • 30:27 - 30:30
    XiaoYanZi...
  • 30:30 - 30:32
    - Call the imperial doctor. - XiaoYanZi...
  • 30:32 - 30:34
    XiaoYanZi... XiaoYanZi...
  • 30:34 - 30:38
XiaoYanZi, what happened? Wake up please!
  • 30:46 - 30:52
    That's enough. Stop pretending.
    There is only family here.
  • 30:52 - 30:55
    Has Imperial Father left?
    Has the Imperial doctor left?
  • 30:55 - 30:59
    - Hopefully, the doctor didn't expose me.
    - The Imperial physician was very slick and sly.
  • 30:59 - 31:03
Since you fainted, he took the safest course by
prescribing a list of medicine. He then left..
  • 31:03 - 31:06
after talking about how to maintain good health.
  • 31:06 - 31:08
Did Imperial Father believe as well?
  • 31:08 - 31:10
All of us were really frightened by you.
  • 31:10 - 31:14
Seeing that you were carried back
here, I had feared the worst...
  • 31:14 - 31:17
You thought I was dead, am I right?
  • 31:17 - 31:22
GeGe, it was no laughing matter.
Your fainting was a fake but we almost fainted.
  • 31:22 - 31:25
    Exactly. XiaoDengZi was so scared
he sank to both his knees and ...
  • 31:25 - 31:27
kowtowed to the heavens several times.
  • 31:27 - 31:29
    That's right.
  • 31:29 - 31:33
You people have been treating me very well.
I can't bear to be without all of you.
  • 31:33 - 31:37
I am the legendary bird with 9 heads.
Even if I lose 1 head, there are 8 remaining.
  • 31:37 - 31:38
    I can't die.
  • 31:38 - 31:42
Alright, don't keep mentioning "losing heads".
"That" sends shivers down my spine.
  • 31:42 - 31:44
    Exactly.
  • 31:44 - 31:47
That Queen is really a bitch!
  • 31:47 - 31:51
Then, Imperial Father wanted to send
    her into the Imperial Prison...
  • 31:51 - 31:52
Yet, you pleaded for the Queen.
  • 31:52 - 31:56
We should have allowed her to go bald,
and become a nun in the Imperial Prison.
  • 31:56 - 32:00
Now that the Queen Dowager has returned,
the Queen is emboldened to be abusive.
  • 32:00 - 32:01
I am fuming because of her!
  • 32:01 - 32:03
Enough already... go apply the ointments now.
  • 32:03 - 32:08
The Queen's hairpin could possibly be
specially designed and tipped with poision.
  • 32:08 - 32:12
Yes... JinSuo is right. Use the
    "9-poison" ointment. Apply gently.
  • 32:12 - 32:15
    - Let's combat poison with poison...
    - Come here. Hurry come here.
  • 32:15 - 32:18
MingYue, bring the ointment over here.
  • 32:18 - 32:20
    Apply a little more here.
  • 32:20 - 32:23
You were too audacious and did not
collude with me ahead of time.
  • 32:23 - 32:26
You abruptly fainted without any warning,
and had scared me out of my wits.
  • 32:26 - 32:28
I almost couldn't coordinate with you.
  • 32:28 - 32:30
Actually, your coordination was pretty good.
  • 32:30 - 32:34
I didn't expect when you lie,
you would be more cool and calm than me.
  • 32:34 - 32:37
You were simply... "something green and blue".
  • 32:37 - 32:40
"Green is born of blue, but beats blue".
  • 32:40 - 32:41
    Correct...
  • 32:41 - 32:43
"Green is born of blue, but beats blue".
  • 32:43 - 32:46
It seems you received my handed down teachings.
  • 32:46 - 32:50
If the Dowager picks on us in the future,
I will counter by pretending to faint.
  • 32:50 - 32:52
    It's a pretty effective trick!
  • 32:52 - 32:57
No more of this trick from now on.
    Don't ever use it again.
  • 32:57 - 32:59
How about you 'faint' the next time?
  • 32:59 - 33:03
    You were previously stabbed; hence,
your performance should be more credible.
  • 33:03 - 33:06
I will be at your side providing a narrative
that will be convincing and improved.
  • 33:06 - 33:11
I will also exaggerate with moving tales
and throw in some white lies.
  • 33:11 - 33:16
Great! It is settled then. In the future,
after I poke your waist, you will faint.
  • 33:22 - 33:27
GeGe(s), 5th Prince and Master Fu have
slipped away to pay you a visit here.
  • 33:27 - 33:30
They're very daring to visit at this late hour.
  • 33:30 - 33:33
If we are caught by the Queen Dowager,
we will be accused of indecent behavior again.
  • 33:33 - 33:34
    Let's go meet them.
  • 34:00 - 34:04
Are you fine now? What exactly happened?
I was scared out of my wits by you.
  • 34:04 - 34:08
    - Did you really faint or was it...?
    - That's silly of you. Of course I faked it.
  • 34:08 - 34:10
I'm in the pink of my health.
How is it possible I fainted?
  • 34:10 - 34:14
It would have been more realistic if
ZiWei fainted, but she is too honest...
  • 34:14 - 34:17
    and incapable of any deception.
  • 34:17 - 34:22
    Thank goodness you are alright.
This is bad... your wound is swelling.
  • 34:22 - 34:24
It's nothing. I had applied medication earlier.
  • 34:24 - 34:28
That won't do. Sit down and let me examine.
  • 34:28 - 34:31
It seems the two of you have
    landed in hot soup again.
  • 34:31 - 34:35
What can we do about it?
    I am worried to death.
  • 34:35 - 34:37
It's very late. You should have returned.
  • 34:37 - 34:41
Now that ErTai and SaiYa are in Tibet,
there is only you at your parents' side.
  • 34:41 - 34:44
You ought to return early and accompany them.
  • 34:44 - 34:48
You are right but... the two of you
    were summoned to CiNing Palace.
  • 34:48 - 34:51
I instantly had butterflies in my stomach,
and was too anxious to be able to return.
  • 34:51 - 34:54
I waited for 5th Prince at his JingYang Palace
who later described in detail what happened.
  • 34:54 - 34:56
It must have been frightening and dangerous.
  • 34:56 - 34:59
Are you certain that the Queen Dowager
    has bought into your performances?
  • 34:59 - 35:01
Honestly, I am also not sure.
  • 35:01 - 35:05
We panicked into a confusing mass, and I had
to boldly force myself to act with XiaoYanZi.
  • 35:05 - 35:10
I didn't even dare to use the corners of my
eyes to catch a glimpse of the Queen Dowager.
  • 35:10 - 35:11
The two of you listen to me...
  • 35:11 - 35:15
    The Queen Dowager is notoriously formidable;
she is absolutely not an unsophisticated figure.
  • 35:15 - 35:19
She may be fooled by you today, but after
some pondering, she may see through the act.
  • 35:19 - 35:23
If you are summoned again tomorrow,
don't give poor answers in a disorderly manner.
  • 35:23 - 35:27
All of us must be in cahoots; or else when
XiaoYanZi mutters Buddha (Pú Sà) again,
  • 35:27 - 35:29
we will really be unable to save ourselves.
  • 35:29 - 35:32
It's all YongQi's fault: he whispered "Pú Sà".
  • 35:32 - 35:35
Grand-aunt XiaoYanZi, I said "Fú Jiā".
  • 35:35 - 35:40
You should have whispered "ErKang" instead.
I am more clear about ErKang.
  • 35:40 - 35:42
If he whispered to you "Er Kang",
  • 35:42 - 35:44
it's possible you will mishear it
    as "Shuǐ Gāng" (water jar).
  • 35:50 - 35:51
    The Emperor has arrived!
  • 35:54 - 35:58
    - XiaoYanZi, quickly return to your bed!
    - Didn't he just leave? Why is he back again?
  • 35:58 - 36:02
    - Shouldn't the two of you hide yourselves?
    - That's right... hurry hide below the table.
  • 36:02 - 36:03
    Hurry hurry...
  • 36:03 - 36:06
    We are dignified gentlemen:
we can't hide ourselves below a table.
  • 36:06 - 36:08
    Nevermind. Life is unpredictable and
often does not give us choices.
  • 36:08 - 36:12
    Everybody remain calm. Fortunately,
it's the Emperor, and not the Dowager.
  • 36:12 - 36:14
    Propitiousness to the Emperor.
  • 36:23 - 36:26
    Propitiousness to Imperial Father.
  • 36:26 - 36:27
Your son wishes peace to Imperial Father.
  • 36:27 - 36:32

  • 36:34 - 36:39
ErKang, YongQi... It's already late now.
Are you are visting the sick?
  • 36:47 - 36:51
XiaoYanZi, it's remarkable you have recovered.
  • 36:51 - 36:54
It seems the skill of our Imperial doctor
Hu has improved by leaps and bounds.
  • 36:54 - 36:56
He must have prescribed you an elixir.
  • 36:56 - 36:59
    Do you still feel dizzy
    or pain in your chest?
  • 37:02 - 37:09
I am still feeling faint and chest tightness,
but I am feeling better than before.
  • 37:09 - 37:13
When we were in CiNing Palace a while
ago, it was almost my last breath.
  • 37:13 - 37:17
How dare you claim that you almost died!
It sounds to me you are interested to die...
  • 37:17 - 37:20
    Am I right?!
  • 37:24 - 37:28
Your audacity has no limits: you even dared
to pull off shenanigans in CiNing Palace.
  • 37:28 - 37:33
    It didn't matter to you she was the Dowager;
I think that's nothing you don't dare to do!
  • 37:36 - 37:42
ZiWei, you also colluded in the deception.
I thought you were always virtuous.
  • 37:42 - 37:48
    It is difficult to be ethical and principled;
why did you so easily become unethical?
  • 37:48 - 37:50
Imperial Father, ZiWei realises her mistake.
  • 37:50 - 37:54
I really had only one option then.
We didn't collude with each at all.
  • 37:54 - 37:58
    The suddent fainting of XiaoYanZi
    caused me to become flustered.
  • 37:58 - 38:03
    After I noticed XiaoYanZi's wink, I was
left with no choice but to coordinate.
  • 38:03 - 38:07
Imperial Father, don't blame ZiWei anymore.
It was me who thought of the deception.
  • 38:07 - 38:12
    - I take sole responsiblility for my own actions.
    - "Only one head and one life to lose"?
  • 38:12 - 38:17
Imperial Father, how is it you have
    learnt to use my "catch-phrase"?
  • 38:17 - 38:21
You are extremely unruly to the
extent I'm at my wits end with you.
  • 38:21 - 38:25
I think that sooner or later, you will
surely "lose one head and one's life".
  • 38:25 - 38:30
I can forgive you once or twice, but I
can't forgive you for 100 and 200 times.
  • 38:30 - 38:35
Dont be increasingly bold and treat
    people around you as simpletons.
  • 38:35 - 38:39
Imperial Father, XiaoYanZi was in a perilous
situation. You should know well that
  • 38:39 - 38:42
once she's pressed, she loses her reasoning,
and tend to only act on her impulses.
  • 38:42 - 38:45
    Moreover, her impetuous behavior results
    typically in a disorderly mess.
  • 38:45 - 38:50
Isn't it about time you come clean on where
have you been to and which "Buddha" you visited?
  • 38:50 - 38:54
    Emperor, please assuage your wrath.
The GeGe(s) were out with your servant today.
  • 38:54 - 38:57
    Before entering the Imperial Palace,
XiaoYanZi has a sworn brother and sister
  • 38:57 - 39:01
    called LiuQing and LiuHong, whom
opened a restaurant in Beijing city.
  • 39:01 - 39:04
Today was their opening first business day.
    We joined the celebrations and...
  • 39:04 - 39:10
had a jovial chat as we haven't met for sometime.
Hence, our return to the Palace was delayed.
  • 39:10 - 39:11
    Is this the truth?
  • 39:11 - 39:15
Your servant dares not lie to the Emperor again.
  • 39:15 - 39:19
It's a good thing to have friends outside.
I have friends all over the country as well...
  • 39:19 - 39:21
from the north to the south.
  • 39:21 - 39:24
I will make time to get together with
them everytime I tour the south.
  • 39:24 - 39:26
It wasn't necessary to lie about such matters.
  • 39:26 - 39:29
Why didn't you just tell the truth
    when the Queen Dowager asked?
  • 39:29 - 39:30
    Imperial Father, you have a
  • 39:30 - 39:34
    generous and accomodating big heart.
You understand and empathize with us.
  • 39:34 - 39:40
You even put yourself in our shoes, and is
forgiving after considering our point of view.
  • 39:40 - 39:43
We may have the courage to speak truthfully to you,
  • 39:43 - 39:47
But in the entire Palace, there are
afterall not many people like you
  • 39:47 - 39:51
    who is magnanimous and broad-minded.
  • 39:51 - 39:52
    Exactly... Imperial Father,
  • 39:52 - 39:58
You are the greatest person in the world!
No one in the Palace can match your greatness.
  • 39:58 - 40:00
Some are also uncomfortable when they see me.
  • 40:00 - 40:04
At times when I am desperately cornered, I will
recklessly stir up trouble so as not to lose my head.
  • 40:04 - 40:06
That's why I am clueless as to what I did.
  • 40:06 - 40:11
What "Pú Sà" (Buddha)? Even I knew YongQi
was whispering "Fú Jiā". (FuLun's home)
  • 40:11 - 40:14
XiaoYanZi is hopelessly imbecilic when stupid.
  • 40:14 - 40:18
    Your fainting act seemed real
and had me almost fooled too.
  • 40:18 - 40:24
I was forced by the two of you to act along.
    It was simply absurd!
  • 40:24 - 40:29
Imperial Father, you saw through my act
even as early as the time at CiNing Palace.
  • 40:29 - 40:33

    intelligent person in the world.
  • 40:33 - 40:36

and the most most devoted father.

  • 41:10 - 41:13

  • 41:13 - 41:17

the last time, and in the CiNing Palace this time.
  • 41:17 - 41:20
    It's giving me bad headaches.
  • 41:20 - 41:25
I am warning all of you, in the future, to
be respectful and honest to the Dowager.
  • 41:25 - 41:27

  • 41:27 - 41:32
The Queen Dowager is the most savvy and

  • 41:32 - 41:36

Princess Pearl 2 (3/48) [ENG CHN SUB] 1999 Huan Zhu Ge Ge II - 还珠格格第二部第03集
Description:

Season Two Episode Three with English Subtitles. Princess Pearl enjoyed the highest viewership of any television drama in Chinese history.

Episode 3 Synopsis (Read Below):

An exchange of blows between Princess Pearl and a Uyghur guest has led to a new friendship. As a result of XiaoYanZi's admiration for MengDan's superb martial arts skills, she offers to become his disciple. She later returned to the Palace after instructing the LiuQing siblings to take good care of her seriously wounded teacher. Upon their return, they were shocked that their absence had delayed a banquet hosted by the Empress Dowager. Ali Khoja, along with Princess HanXiang, and with his entire entourage have arrived at the capital city. The city streets were jam-packed people everywhere. Among the crowd, MengDan and his friends were keeping a very close eye on the entourage from Uyghur.

Series Note:

Princess Returning Pearl, or My Fair Princess, is a Chinese television series adapted from Chiung Yao's novel series. Produced by Hunan TV, the series centres around the legend of Huan Zhu Ge Ge during the reign of Qianlong Emperor.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Translation Note:

In the drama, the often repeated Chinese terms "Huí Rén" which literally means "Muslim People", and "Huí Jiāng" which literally means "Muslim Territory", are simply translated into "Uyghur".

The word "Muslim" in the above context of "Muslim People" is a composite term that encompasses all the non-Han Chinese ethnic groups (from Uyghur, Kazakh, Hui, Kyrgyz, and Mongol) which populate the geographical northwest region. The word "Muslim People" does not focus on the Islamic religion of those non-Han Chinese ethnic people but rather on the ethnicity of the non-Han Chinese people.

The word "Huí Jiāng", which literally means "Muslim Territory", is a Qing Dynasty era geographical term that refers to the southern region of the Xinjiang province located south of the Tian Shan ranges (天山, Tiān Shān, celestial mountains).

The accurate Chinese equivalent of "Uyghur" is "Wéi Wú' Er" (维吾尔), which was mentioned in 44:42 to 44:44. Such simplifications throughout the series are in place for the sole purpose of minimizing the lengths of subtitle text. The ethnic Uyghur people is one of the major Muslim, non-Chinese ethnic groups that lives in modern day Xinjiang Province in northwest of China. An estimated 80% of Xinjiang's Uyghurs live in the southwestern portion of the Xinjiang region.
