Today a package arrived.

Good morning, friends.

Today is a very exciting day because

my Cricut has arrived!

I have been wanting a Cricut for so long

so I was super excited
when Cricut reached out to me

to partner on this video!

Today I'm going to set it up

because I'm going to be making stickers.

Because I've been into journaling and stationery
and all that sort of stuff

of course I've had a phase where I wanted
to make my own stickers before

and I just never had proper equipment
or material to do so.

But now...

Nothing's here to stop me.

Chapter 1. SET UP

Setting it up is super quick and easy.

Usually setting up machines and tech
takes me the whole day

but you just sync it
with the Cricut Design Space app

and it runs you through
a step-by-step set up tutorial.

Already done!

Before getting my Cricut machine

I did a lot of research
about the different ways and methods

I could go about cutting and printing my stickers

how I could best put my stickers
[Look at her go.]

without having to send them
to manufactures and stuff

and I decided that the Cricut maker
[Watching it is so satisfying.]

was the best option for me.

Not only does it cut sticker sheets like vinyl

but it can cut over 300 different materials

from thick to super thin.

So I thought not only would it be good
to use this for cutting up stickers

but if you see my vlogs you may know

that I'm really into doing sewing projects
and stuff like that

and I don't yet have my sewing machine
with me here in LA

but I plan on getting one soon

so I can start working
on some summer sewing projects.

This can cut through materials

like silk, jersey, cotton, linen, corduroy...

pretty much any fabric you can think of.

And when I was looking through
the list of materials it can cut

it said it can cut through things like

aluminum foil and even cereal boxes...?

It's sparking all types of creativity
and inspiration for me.

With the Cricut Maker you're definitely getting

a lot of value for your investment.

It has an expandable suite of tools
so you can cut, draw, score, engrave, etc.

all from the same machine.

Cricut Design Space has
a bunch of premade templates

and projects to try too.

It is available as a mobile app

so you can design and make from anywhere.

Using a blank template to create text.

Font change...

Load the mat into the machine.

Select material.

Adjust cutting pressure.

Now cut.

Eject.

I stopped by the local print shop
to look at materials for my stickers.

Deciding between clear and matte sticker paper.

The remaining macarons I got with Stella.

Milk&honey, fruity pebbles.

Indecisive.

Be careful of crumbs.

Chapter 2. DESIGN

I don't have a drawing tablet.

So I try to make the most
of my phone and stylus pen. 😅

It's not easy to draw on such a small space

so I am sticking with simple designs.

INTENSE COLORING.

A mid-design meal.

Arranging all the designs onto a document to print.

Finished with my first sticker page design!

The mess I've been avoiding in the kitchen...

I've become quite lazy with cleaning
since living alone.

There is no one here to witness the mess.

So it just... happens.

It is only 9 pm and...

I think I need to go to bed.

I don't know, I've been...

super tired these past few days

because I haven't been able to sleep very well.

I've been waking up very very early

as early as, like, 5:30

but I've been very stressed.

Kind of having post-grad stresses
and life stresses right now

and I know, in my mind, logically

it doesn't make sense for me be this stressed

but unforfunately that's how my body

and mind is handling it...
[you can tell I'm tired by how slow I'm talking lmao]

Not very well.

So I'm gonna try going to sleep now.

Hopefully I can sleep
like, I just feel tired in my face

but, like, I don't feel "sleepy"?
Like I'm not yawning or anything?

But tomorrow I get to pick up my stickers

and then I'm going to cut them out

and show you what I've been working on.

That's pretty much all I did today
which was design the stickers

and I was trying to just distress
and let my mind relax as much as possible.

I think this is good for me.

I'm making some progress in self-care...

It's getting hot in LA

so I'm making a smoothie.

Using the strawberries and kale
I picked at the farm.

Kale

Strawberries

Almond milk

Greek yogurt

Honey

This kinda smells grows...

Adding leftover strawberries on top
in hopes of improving the visual 😅

I'm kinda scared of this.

Here it goes.

How do people drink these things on a regular-

Looking at all that I have to drink.

I know this is supposed to be good for you but...

man...

Don't think about it.

Cereal to cancel the taste.

I'm going to need a lot of cereal.

Chapter 3. PRINT

Choosing what parts I want cut out.

Aligning the sticker sheet on the mat.

I printed a couple sheets to test the cutting on.

I had a bit of trial and error
with the cutline settings.

Preparing food while the Cricut works hard
in the other room.

This grilled cheese is only for me though.

Look at my little sticker sheet!

Because I don't have a printer of my own at home

I had to go get printed at FedEX

which kinda made this little process
of cutting them out

a little more difficult.

Cricut does have a function

so you can print and cut your stickers out

all at once, so they're all perfectly lined up
[You can hook it up directy to your own printer.]

but because I had to print this seperately

cutting them out and lining them up
on the program

has been a little difficult.

This was one of my tester sheets.

As you can see I've done multiple cuts of it

trying to get it perfectly lined up.

This one's pretty near perfect, I'd say.
[I finally found a setting I liked.]

Wooow!
I'm so excited to use them!

I did post some pictures on my Instagram story

and a few people have mentioned
they thought I was opening a sticker shop

which I am not, right now.

That wasn't my intention when I got this

because I still have a lot of learning to do

and I'm not quite satisfied
with these designs anyway

this is just my first try at making stickers.

But if that is something you would be interested in

I'd love to hear.

But, I must say, I'm quite proud
of how these turned out so far

and the Cricut has been super easy to use.

I just...

I think I might need to get a printer some time.

Chapter 4. DECORATE

I was inspired by all the baked goods
and cafe drinks I wish to make.

The simple, minimalistic design
makes them easy to decorate with.

So happy with them!

My roommate is back in town!

And my friend from high school is visiting.

So I took them out for a tteokbokki dinner.

Happy to see my friends again <3
