I'm Cheri Maria Sumikawa Lavoie.

I'm 25 years old.

I'm a real estate agent on the Big Island.

I was born on the Big Island, but

I moved back one year ago.

Since then I've always been there.

[On Work] If there's someone

who wants to buy a house on the island,

I show them different houses and condos.

If there's a property they like,

I make the offer for it.

I go between the seller and buyer.

I make sure things go smoothly

and help with communication.

In the future,

I want to make Hawaii Island my base.

There's not a lot of good jobs here,

but if I'm in real estate,

I have job stability and can stay.

That's why I'm a real estate agent.

[Miss Hawaii Island] Last year,

I entered the Miss Hawaii Island contest.

I was picked to be Miss Hawaii Island

out of 11 women.

I do events, TV, commercials, parades.

[On Joining Terrace House]
As a real estate agent,

I want to work with Japanese people.

So, I want to speak Japanese smoothly and

communicate better with Japanese.

I want more exposure to Japanese culture.

[On Communal Living]
When I was in college,

I lived with different people for 4 years.

The first year I lived with a boyfriend.

After we broke up,

I shared an apartment with girl friends.

Male soccer players had the other 3 rooms.

It was 5 of us living together.

There was a point where

I liked one of them.

But we were...

maybe he had a girlfriend, so....

nothing happened.

[On Love]
There's no one right now.

I want someone

who walks the walk and talks the talk.

Of course, this is the Big Island;

Someone with a sense of adventure.

Looks don't matter.

I now realize what's inside matters.

If there's someone I'm into,

I wanna hang out with them, go out to eat.

I'll ask him out, I'm not shy about that.
