-
My first job here, at Miller Pipeline, was and still is
Regional Safety Quality and Compliance Coordinator.
-
And I have worked for Miller Pipeline
for about eleven months now.
-
My background is from the Marine Corps
-
where I had a lot of
safety related billets and assignments.
-
And I went into the Pipeline Industry
as a laborer for a mainline;
-
and the company that I was working for
actually was looking for a field safety at the time
-
and I applied
and with my safety background from the military
-
it opened that window to move over
to safety in the Pipeline Industry.
-
On my first trip to the field
I noticed how nice the equipment was.
-
I think this was the biggest thing
that stuck out to me.
-
Everything is top-notch, new trucks,
newer backhoes; everything's nice, well-kept.
-
The main thing that's changed,
since I've worked for Miller Pipeline, in my personal life
-
is my work-life balance
has greatly increased
-
because I'm home every night with my children
and then I'm able to do those family things
-
that I was missing out on when I was on the road.
-
I'm proud to work for Miller Pipeline
because of the reputation that we have
-
and the core values that the company has.
-
And you can see them truly represented
in every step in every level of the company.
-
So I'm proud to just say that I work for Miller Pipeline,
and people know the name.
-
What Miller does to support me
in my position is, it's really
-
–a lot of companies have
safety and quality as core values–
-
but at Miller I feel it's different,
in my experience, because it's really
-
it's really driven from the very
tippy top down and that is the key for my position
-
as a Safety Quality and Compliance Coordinator
because if it's not driven from the top
-
then I really don't have any support;
so just that right there
-
just builds about the foundation for me
to be successful at my job.
