Mark Gungor - Men's Brain Women's Brain

  • 0:01 - 0:05
We're going to start discussing men's brains and women's brains and how they're very different from each other.
  • 0:05 - 0:09
Now, I want to start with men's brains, alright?
  • 0:09 - 0:11
Now men's brains are very unique.
  • 0:11 - 0:13
Men's brains are made up of little boxes.
  • 0:14 - 0:16
And we have a box for everything.
  • 0:16 - 0:18
We have a box for the car,
  • 0:18 - 0:20
    a box for the money,
  • 0:20 - 0:21
we have a box for the job
  • 0:21 - 0:23
we have a box for you,
  • 0:23 - 0:24
we have a box for the kids
  • 0:24 - 0:26
we have a box for your mother somewhere in the basement
  • 0:29 - 0:31
    We have boxes everywhere
  • 0:31 - 0:35
And the rule is: the boxes do not touch.
  • 0:49 - 0:53
When a man discusses a particular subject:
  • 0:53 - 0:55
we go to that particular box,
  • 0:55 - 0:57
    pull that box out,
  • 0:57 - 1:00
    we open the box,
  • 1:00 - 1:04
we discuss only what is in that box,
  • 1:05 - 1:06
    alright?
  • 1:15 - 1:18
And then we close the box and put it away,
  • 1:18 - 1:23
being very, very careful NOT to touch any other boxes.
  • 1:47 - 1:50
Women's brains are very different from men's brains
  • 1:50 - 1:53
Women's brains are made up from a big ball of wire
  • 1:56 - 1:59
and everything is connected to everything
  • 2:03 - 2:04
The money is connected to the car,
  • 2:04 - 2:05
the car is connected to your job,
  • 2:05 - 2:09
and your kids are connected to your mother and everything is connected to everything
  • 2:18 - 2:20
It's like the internet super highway
  • 2:22 - 2:26
And it's all driven by energy that we call emotion
  • 2:30 - 2:34
It's one of the reasons why women tend to remember
  • 2:34 - 2:35
    everything
  • 2:38 - 2:43
because if you take an event, and you connect it to an emotion,
  • 2:43 - 2:46
it burns in your memory and you can remember it forever
  • 2:46 - 2:51
The same thing happens to men, it just doesn't happen very often, because frankly: we don't care
  • 2:58 - 3:02
Women tend to care about everything.
  • 3:06 - 3:07
    And she just loves it
  • 3:19 - 3:23
Now men, we have a box in our brain that most women are not aware of
  • 3:23 - 3:25
    This particular box
  • 3:25 - 3:27
    has nothing in it
  • 3:38 - 3:40
    It's true
  • 3:45 - 3:47
In fact, we call it "the nothing-box"
  • 3:49 - 3:52
And of all the boxes a man has in his brain,
  • 3:52 - 3:57
the nothing box is our favourite box
  • 4:02 - 4:07
If a man has a chance, he will go to his nothing-box every time
  • 4:07 - 4:13
That's why a man can do something seemingly brain-dead for hours on end
  • 4:14 - 4:15
    You know, like fishing
  • 4:28 - 4:30
    Now, they've actually measured this;
  • 4:30 - 4:33
the university of Pennsylvania did a study a couple of years ago
  • 4:33 - 4:37
and discovered that men have the ability to think about absolutely nothing
  • 4:37 - 4:39
    and still breathe
  • 4:41 - 4:45
They connected all the wires and measured the brain-activity
  • 4:45 - 4:48
    It's ..................................
  • 4:49 - 4:52
    "Our brain is dead!"
  • 4:52 - 4:53
    "Huh?"
  • 4:55 - 5:00
Women cannot do it; they cannot do it, their minds never stop
  • 5:03 - 5:07
And they don't understand the nothing box
  • 5:07 - 5:09
    and it drives them crazy
  • 5:09 - 5:12
because nothing drives a woman more crazy
  • 5:12 - 5:14
or makes her feel more irritated
  • 5:14 - 5:18
than watching a man doing nothing.
