Christ Consciousness

0:02 - 0:04Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
-
0:04 - 0:07Monte Sahaja
25th December 2014 -
0:07 - 0:12Christ Consciousness
(with subtitles) -
0:15 - 0:19I'm not good on days like that,
yesterday or day before yesterday, -
0:19 - 0:22but I feel it was yesterday, in the morning,
-
0:22 - 0:25well, even from the night,
-
0:25 - 0:38I was totally filled with some deep, deep fire
to share something. -
0:38 - 0:42It usually starts like that,
I don't know what I want to talk about. -
0:42 - 0:54Just it comes first
with a tremendous depth of a feeling. -
0:54 - 1:00And it's full,
it was full, full, full love and full power, -
1:00 - 1:04full Holy Spirit Presence, full like that.
-
1:04 - 1:08It was like 3 o'clock in the morning,
-
1:08 - 1:10[laughter]
-
1:13 - 1:15and there's nobody around.
-
1:15 - 1:21[Mooji] So, I started having Satsang with emptiness,
in the emptiness. -
1:21 - 1:24I just had to speak it out, speak it out,
-
1:24 - 1:28and I had this feeling
that I was speaking to people all over the world. -
1:28 - 1:32I don't know, it was just like that.
Sometimes these things come, -
1:32 - 1:35and to the mind they are not convenient at all.
-
1:35 - 1:38This should be really about lunchtime,
-
1:38 - 1:43maybe this would be
a really good message for Christmas. -
1:43 - 1:46But 3 o'clock in the morning and it was like that.
-
1:46 - 1:52And it was so totally full, full,
-
1:52 - 1:56that even after I fell off to sleep;
-
1:56 - 2:00this heat, this beautiful heat
-
2:00 - 2:03still continued shimmering, shimmering, shimmering,
-
2:03 - 2:06and it spilt out a little bit in the daytime.
-
2:06 - 2:10I felt, Maybe I have to talk about something,
-
2:10 - 2:15and I spoke a few words
that came out of that space, for a little bit. -
2:15 - 2:18And then today it was a feeling,
-
2:18 - 2:24maybe I would talk a little bit about Jesus.
-
2:24 - 2:29But I thought, Maybe, should I read something
from the Bible? -
2:29 - 2:32I went and looked and I couldn't find anything,
-
2:32 - 2:37it was just not coming to ...
-
2:37 - 2:41Nothing was coming like that.
-
2:45 - 2:50So, I felt that I couldn't tell you about Jesus.
-
2:50 - 2:54I can't tell you 'about' Jesus.
-
2:54 - 3:00But I feel I could introduce you to Jesus
inside your own heart! -
3:00 - 3:04Maybe something like that.
-
3:04 - 3:08Because to tell you 'about' something,
-
3:08 - 3:10it feels like it's not here.
-
3:10 - 3:15Like we'll talk about someone who is not here.
-
3:15 - 3:18But when you are here, I don't talk about you.
-
3:18 - 3:21I must talk with you.
-
3:21 - 3:27But because, actually,
I don't perceive Jesus as other, -
3:27 - 3:34or you may say, the Christ Consciuosness.
-
3:34 - 3:40So, how to speak 'about' this?
-
3:40 - 3:46I feel the way in which we must speak
about Lord Krishna -
3:46 - 3:55or Ramana, or Papaji, or Lord Buddha,
or Lord Christ -
3:55 - 4:03is only by way of direct experience,
not just talking about. -
4:03 - 4:09Because 'about' turns in the mind
and it trips on it. -
4:16 - 4:18How can I introduce you,
-
4:18 - 4:24how can we be introduced to Christ Consciousness?
-
4:29 - 4:34If it is outside of us,
if it is other than what we are, -
4:38 - 4:44then you're going to have
to do something extraordinary to reach it. -
4:44 - 4:53You have to be something other
than what you are to reach it also. -
4:53 - 4:58And you've heard
that you can only meet God inside your heart. -
4:58 - 5:03You can only read, understand or feel
or experience the Buddha. -
5:03 - 5:09To read about Buddha,
it gives you a sense of the life. -
5:09 - 5:14Your mind will fill in the rest,
imagination is always needed. -
5:14 - 5:22But how can you meet the Lord of the Heart
without imagination? -
5:30 - 5:38So the only way I know is to not be preoccupied
-
5:38 - 5:41with anything else for a moment.
-
5:41 - 5:45Or to leave everything else,
whatever you may know as else. -
5:45 - 5:49And what do we call else?
-
5:49 - 5:55Meaning something that you can perceive
phenomenally, objectively, -
5:55 - 6:00whether it is a thought, or an object,
or even imagined; -
6:00 - 6:05actual, real, or whatever, the senses,
-
6:05 - 6:10anything that you can perceive
through the senses or the mind, -
6:10 - 6:13will for a while be other.
-
6:13 - 6:18Later we can come to see if other is other.
-
6:18 - 6:22So, let's leave all those things aside
for a moment, -
6:22 - 6:29because they depend upon your being here first
to perceive them, -
6:29 - 6:35to perceive their presence and their absence.
-
6:35 - 6:40So, whatever perceives them, must outlast them,
-
6:40 - 6:45meaning that it is not carried away by them.
-
6:45 - 6:48Like a space in which they appear and disappear
-
6:48 - 6:52but the space does not go.
-
6:58 - 7:06If we see someone like Christ
from the standpoint of a person, -
7:06 - 7:09then you'll want to see Him as another person.
-
7:09 - 7:11Then you can say, 'Yes',
-
7:11 - 7:14and that may be a tremendous experience
-
7:14 - 7:17to say, Oh my God, Ramana or Jesus
-
7:17 - 7:20appeared to me yesterday and we talked
-
7:20 - 7:24and I was completely filled
with just the most amazing feelings, -
7:24 - 7:28and they are still here after the dream has ended,
-
7:28 - 7:32it's like, He is in me. Or something like that.
-
7:32 - 7:38That would be a very powerful encounter.
-
7:38 - 7:43But what if Jesus is even nearer than intimacy?
-
7:50 - 7:54What if He is gapless,
-
7:54 - 7:59meaning that there's no separation?
-
8:06 - 8:09Then how would you know?
-
8:09 - 8:13If you can see, either you see everything
-
8:13 - 8:16as only sensations in consciousness,
-
8:16 - 8:22ideas in consciousness,
phenomenon coming and going, -
8:22 - 8:25and you come to a total understanding
-
8:25 - 8:28that the perceiver of them
and they are not the same, -
8:28 - 8:31especially the perceiver of all of that,
-
8:31 - 8:37the world of thought and time and whatever.
-
8:37 - 8:40That without you, the perceiver, they are not,
-
8:40 - 8:44so you are primary in this.
-
8:44 - 8:47So whatever is seemingly is secondary,
-
8:47 - 8:52that comes after you, you leave it.
-
8:52 - 8:57And we can do it now.
-
8:57 - 9:01Don't hold onto any thought,
or any idea, any desire, -
9:01 - 9:05anything that you may feel attached to even.
-
9:05 - 9:10Even our idea of God, or idea of Christ
-
9:10 - 9:13or the Buddha or scriptures,
-
9:13 - 9:19hold onto nothing at all,
because they come and go. -
9:19 - 9:23Not even by your will, they come and go.
-
9:23 - 9:26But you are the witness,
or something is the witness -
9:26 - 9:30of their coming and going.
-
9:30 - 9:34Even the idea about yourself comes and goes
-
9:34 - 9:40What is that that does not come and go?
-
9:40 - 9:46Which requires no effort to be?
-
9:51 - 9:57Requires no imagination.
-
9:57 - 10:04Because imagination is also phenomenal.
-
10:04 - 10:10Then leaving aside all notions of other,
and even of 'I', -
10:16 - 10:21this is the space
in which the Christ light appears, -
10:21 - 10:26the Buddha appears,
what is called the Buddha nature, -
10:26 - 10:29the Christ nature arises in this.
-
10:29 - 10:35Not the person only.
-
10:35 - 10:38The person comes through the mind,
-
10:38 - 10:44but the essence arises here, in this space.
-
10:44 - 10:47Even your own sense of Self arises here
-
10:47 - 10:49and is perceived only in the mind.
-
10:49 - 10:55But the essence is here, in this essential place.
-
10:55 - 10:58This is your Christ space.
-
10:58 - 11:01It is an unshared space.
-
11:01 - 11:07There is not two.
To meet, there must be two. -
11:07 - 11:10Here, there is not two.
-
11:10 - 11:14And even, there is not one.
-
11:19 - 11:24It does not come and go.
-
11:24 - 11:26It has no form.
-
11:26 - 11:33Only forms come and go.
-
11:33 - 11:36So, rather than reading something about Jesus,
-
11:36 - 11:38or about the Prophet Mohammed,
-
11:38 - 11:46or about Guru Nanak, or Lord Shiva,
Lord Ram, Lord Krishna, -
11:46 - 11:54Anandamayi Ma, or Mahavira or like this,
-
11:54 - 12:00let's be in this place,
-
12:00 - 12:06in which even the perceiving
of them arises, in this space. -
12:06 - 12:12There is no story here.
There is no religion here. -
12:12 - 12:14There is no philosphy here.
-
12:14 - 12:17There are no persons here.
-
12:17 - 12:21There is no time here.
-
12:21 - 12:24There is neither day, nor night here.
-
12:24 - 12:28There is neither you, nor me here.
-
12:28 - 12:31There is neither disciple, nor master here.
-
12:31 - 12:38There is neither heaven, nor hell here.
-
12:38 - 12:42And yet it is not a sterile space.
-
12:42 - 12:47It is not dead, it is not inert.
-
12:47 - 12:50[silence]
-
12:57 - 13:03Imagination is not required.
-
13:03 - 13:05No vehicles are required,
-
13:05 - 13:09because there is no distance to cover.
-
13:12 - 13:17It's neither hot, nor cold.
-
13:17 - 13:22It's neither in, nor out.
-
13:22 - 13:28It's neither above, nor below.
-
13:28 - 13:32It's not in the four directions.
-
13:32 - 13:35[silence]
-
13:44 - 13:49Your own Heart is its temple, you can say.
-
13:55 - 13:59Who are you here?
-
14:01 - 14:05Only here you cannot argue.
-
14:05 - 14:09There are no opinions here.
-
14:15 - 14:19There is nothing to work out.
-
14:19 - 14:23There is nothing to heal.
-
14:31 - 14:36Either this is the most absurd idea,
-
14:36 - 14:39or it's the most natural.
-
14:42 - 14:49Either this is the most strange idea,
-
14:49 - 14:53or it is the most natural.
-
14:53 - 14:57For nothing needs to be done.
-
15:02 - 15:06Even to discover this,
-
15:09 - 15:16who or what makes this discovery even?
-
15:16 - 15:21And can the discoverer live there?
-
15:21 - 15:25As what?
-
15:25 - 15:28[long silence]
-
15:53 - 15:59It remains unaffected
by the play of the body-mind. -
16:08 - 16:14No one possesses it.
-
16:14 - 16:17No one can keep it a secret.
-
16:17 - 16:21It cannot be kept. It cannot be lost.
-
16:21 - 16:26It cannot be remembered or forgotten.
-
16:26 - 16:33All these are notions in the mind.
-
16:33 - 16:42Mind itself is a power
that arises inside the space, -
16:42 - 16:49exists inside the space of the Self,
-
16:49 - 16:52dissolves inside the space of the Self,
-
16:52 - 16:59and nothing happens to the Self.
-
16:59 - 17:03Do you need to imagine this?
-
17:07 - 17:12Can you tell a story about this?
-
17:20 - 17:25Is there anything such as
-
17:25 - 17:31AD or DC or BC, or anything like this?
-
17:31 - 17:37Is there a period like before Christ
or after Christ? -
17:41 - 17:45Is there history there?
-
17:45 - 17:52And where is there? How far is there?
-
17:52 - 17:57Is it outside of our experience?
Is it outside of our being? -
17:57 - 17:59Who are we?
-
17:59 - 18:03Are we apart from this?
-
18:06 - 18:11So, I've given you some clues.
-
18:11 - 18:13It's not anything you can think of.
-
18:13 - 18:16You cannot reach it by imagination.
-
18:16 - 18:23You cannot find it by being super-good.
-
18:23 - 18:28You cannot lose it by being super-bad.
-
18:28 - 18:35You cannot keep it by any practice.
-
18:35 - 18:39You cannot be you there.
-
18:39 - 18:45Not the you that is of this world.
-
18:52 - 18:57When shall we be there?
-
18:57 - 19:02When is the best time? When is a good time?
-
19:02 - 19:05[silence]
-
19:15 - 19:18And is it 'there'?
-
19:23 - 19:27Or is it 'here', and never there?
-
19:27 - 19:32Does it have these boundaries?
-
19:32 - 19:35[silence]
-
19:43 - 19:46If you want to meet Christ,
-
19:46 - 19:50the Christ of history,
-
19:50 - 19:54the Buddha of history,
-
19:54 - 19:57then you must either use your imagination,
-
19:57 - 20:01they may appear in some vision,
-
20:01 - 20:06or through imagination.
-
20:06 - 20:12But if you want to meet them as they truly are,
-
20:12 - 20:15this you can do now.
-
20:15 - 20:18[long silence]
-
20:52 - 20:56I could'nt find ...
-
20:56 - 21:03I could not find a way of talking about Jesus.
-
21:03 - 21:09I looked through the most easily readable Bible
I could find, -
21:09 - 21:14but I couldn't find the inspiration
to talk about Jesus. -
21:14 - 21:18I couldn't find a story
that would be fitting tonight, -
21:18 - 21:25of all the many stories;
some of them I've told you. -
21:25 - 21:29And I cannot prepare.
-
21:29 - 21:33So, on the way down here we were trying to sketch,
-
21:33 - 21:35even this I didn't know anything about
-
21:35 - 21:38what anything was going to be today,
-
21:38 - 21:43except there seemed
there's going to be something here, -
21:43 - 21:46what the programme was going to be,
-
21:46 - 21:50that maybe we'll have a few carols
and then I'll talk about Jesus. -
21:50 - 21:53And I thought, Oh Jesus. I can't.
[laughter] -
21:53 - 21:59It's not coming like that today.
-
21:59 - 22:05To talk about Jesus is to talk about Jesus.
-
22:12 - 22:16But who wants to meet?
-
22:16 - 22:22Who wants to know? Who wants to be?
-
22:22 - 22:24Who will take that risk?
-
22:24 - 22:29Who has that love? Who has that surrender?
-
22:29 - 22:33Who has that burning, that urge?
-
22:38 - 22:48Who wants to discover that place
where Jesus comes from, -
22:48 - 22:54where the saints and all beings come from?
-
22:59 - 23:04Can imagination take you there?
-
23:11 - 23:15Is it far, far away? Beyond the skies?
-
23:15 - 23:19Far, far into some distant galaxy?
-
23:25 - 23:30Either it's far, far, far, far, far away,
-
23:30 - 23:34or it's no distance.
-
23:34 - 23:37You choose.
-
23:42 - 23:45If we believe in personhood
-
23:45 - 23:50then you'll believe very much
in the sense of separation, -
23:50 - 23:55and you will believe in time and effort,
-
23:55 - 24:01and these have their place also.
-
24:01 - 24:06As long as we conceive of ourselves as a person,
-
24:06 - 24:12there will be things to be done and undone,
-
24:12 - 24:15something to reach, something to leave,
-
24:15 - 24:21something to fix, something to change,
-
24:21 - 24:25something to become.
-
24:25 - 24:32It's not easy to shake these off,
-
24:32 - 24:35because these are seeds that sprout very easily
-
24:35 - 24:41in the human consciousness.
-
24:41 - 24:45Where is this place
-
24:45 - 24:48that Jesus returned to,
-
24:48 - 24:51the Buddha returned to?
-
24:56 - 25:02Is it a physical place?
-
25:02 - 25:07If it's a physical place,
there will be a physical distance. -
25:07 - 25:09If it's a non-physical place,
-
25:09 - 25:13what kind of distance will there be?
-
25:17 - 25:19If it's a conceptual place,
-
25:19 - 25:23there'll be some conceptual distance.
-
25:26 - 25:31But if it's beyond the mind, if it's beyond time
-
25:31 - 25:36and change and distance and form,
-
25:36 - 25:39where is it then?
-
25:39 - 25:42Is there anything in you like that?
-
25:42 - 25:45Is there any place in you which is beyond time
-
25:45 - 25:50and change and distance and form?
-
25:56 - 26:01Are we now in the domain of imagination?
-
26:01 - 26:05Or are you still here?
-
26:05 - 26:08[silence]
-
26:19 - 26:25I don't want to talk to you about Jesus.
-
26:25 - 26:29I don't want to talk to you about God.
-
26:29 - 26:33I don't want to talk about Truth.
-
26:33 - 26:36I don't want to talk about Love.
-
26:36 - 26:40It's been enough of that.
-
26:40 - 26:46It's time to go beyond talk.
-
26:46 - 26:49[long silence]
-
27:23 - 27:28Do you have to wait until you are good enough?
-
27:36 - 27:41Is it possible to escape the domain
of good and bad, -
27:41 - 27:44of you and me?
-
27:47 - 27:51Does such a place exist?
-
27:59 - 28:02All of us suffer from our own mind,
-
28:02 - 28:06our own projections, our own identities.
-
28:06 - 28:12It is this that gives us the sense of separation,
of distance. -
28:12 - 28:15[silence]
-
28:33 - 28:39So tonight,
I don't want to talk to you about anything. -
28:39 - 28:42[silence]
-
28:55 - 28:58If we can find a way where there is no distance
-
28:58 - 29:02to allow 'you' and 'me',
-
29:02 - 29:07then what is there to talk about?
-
29:13 - 29:18What keeps you 'you', and me 'me'?
-
29:22 - 29:26Who made this law?
-
29:34 - 29:38Who said it is true?
-
29:38 - 29:41[long silence]
-
30:09 - 30:13OK. Om Namah Shivaya Om.
-
30:42 - 30:46[voices in sangha] Thank you, Mooji.

- Description:
-
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Monte Sahaja
25th December 2014I can't tell you about Jesus. But I feel I could introduce you to Jesus inside your own Heart.
So I feel the way in which we must speak about Lord Krishna or Ramana or Papaji or Lord Buddha or Lord Christ is only by way of direct experience, not just talking about.
Is there any place in you which is beyond time and change and distance and form?
I don't want to talk to you about Jesus, I don't want to talk to you about God. I don't want to talk about Truth. I don't want to talk about Love. It's been enough of that. It's time to go beyond talk.
So tonight I don't want to talk to you about anything. If we can find a way where there is no distance to allow 'you' and 'me' then what is there to talk about then? What keeps you 'you' and me 'me'? Who made this law? Who said it is true?
