Qual è il fatto più sorprendente riguardante l'Universo che vuole condividere con noi?

Il fatto più sorprendente

è sapere

che gli atomi che compongono la vita sulla Terra

gli atomi che costituiscono il corpo umano

sono riconducibili ai crogioli che hanno cucinato elementi leggeri

facendoli diventare elementi pesanti, nel loro nucleo

a temperature e pressioni estreme.

Queste stelle, quelle di massa elevata

divennero instabili alla fine dei loro giorni

collassarono e poi esplosero spargendo le loro interiora arricchite attraverso la galassia

viscere composte da carbonio, azoto, ossigeno

e tutti gli ingredienti fondamentali della vita stessa.

Questi ingredienti diventano parte di nubi di gas

che condensano, collassano, creano la successiva generazione di sistemi solari

stelle con pianeti orbitanti, e questi pianeti ora contengono gli ingredienti della vita stessa.

Così, quando guardo il cielo notturno

e so che sì, siamo parte di questo universo

siamo in questo universo, ma forse il fatto più importante

è che l'Universo è in noi.

Quando rifletto su questo fatto, volgo i miei occhi al cielo

molte persone si sentono piccole perché lo sono e l'Universo è enorme

ma io mi sento enorme, perché i miei atomi provengono da quelle stelle.

C'è un levello di interconnessione.

E questo è proprio ciò che desideriamo dalla vita, vogliamo sentirci in relazione, vogliamo sentirci rilevanti

vogliamo sentirci partecipi allo svolgimento

delle attività e degli eventi che ci circondano.

Ed è esattamente ciò che siamo, soltanto per il fatto di essere vivi...
