So talk about the song itself.
What did you think of the song?

- It's not very catchy.

- Very repetitive but nice to listen to.

- The beat was fire.
It was on point.

- It was very pop and similar
to Oppa Gangnam Style.

- It's all right the first time
you listen to it,
-
but it's never going to be something
I'm gonna put on my iPod.

- I don't get what's going on.

It reminds me of that song,
"I Got It From My Mama."

- (Finebros) And what about the music video?

- I didn't like it. (laughs)

- It seemed so creepy.
He was every character.

- He's sticking to the weirdness
like he always does.

- The music video was funny.

I liked how they had the three generations.

- The fact that Psy's face
was quite literally on

every single male person in that video,

no matter what their age was,
or what they were doing,

was kind of disturbing.

- I wanted to dance along.

I don't know how dances can be catchy,

but his dances kind of are catchy.

- You saw him come out of the womb
as a very young boy.

Then they saw him
as a normal adult and an elder.

It's basically like
the React series in Psy's life.

gotten millions of views very quickly.

What is it that, still years later,
whenever Psy puts out

a new music video there's
so much attention for it?

- I think there's a lot of attention
because he's just such a character.

- Just because everyone's like,
"Oh, is this gonna be

like Gangnam Style again?"

- They're just waiting to see
if he can out-Gangnam Style
-
his Gangnam Style,
and he kind of did that here.

- We're all sheep,
so we flock to the same things.

Somebody says,
"Hey, this guy's the same guy

that had this one video
that we all watched.
-
Let's all watch this one too!"

- (Finebros) Although Psy
continues to have success,

he has said that it's been hard
since everyone compares

his new music to how
gigantic Gangnam Style was,

and has even said he thinks he'll never top
-
the success of Gangnam Style.
- Oh.

- I can see how it can
probably be a little difficult for him.

- (Finebros) What do you think
about Psy as an artist

and the difficulty he's had
with so much success?

(deep sigh)

- (sarcastically) Poor, popular Psy.
I hate being successful.

I can't really feel bad for him.

- You know, as an artist,
I respect him.

It's probably so hard for him to be able

to try and make something better
that people will see
-
and just be like, "That was amazing,"
and not compare it

to like, "But you did this so much better."

- I think that's actually really sad

because he set the standard
so high for himself
-
that it's absolutely impossible
to meet that again.

And the fact that he's trying so hard
-
to make his audience happy
is something that we need to applaud.

- (Finebros) So this song
was released as promotion
-
for his first full-length album
since Gangnam Style,
-
and he's going to have
collaborations on that album
-
with artists like
will.i.am and Ed Sheeran.

- Oh my gosh. I love Ed Sheeran.

- He's collabing with Ed Sheeran?

- (incredulously) Ed Sheeran and Psy?

- No. (giggles) How would that even work?

- (Finebros) Are you excited
about a new album from Psy?

- It'll be really interesting to see
how he incorporates

'cause it's using a song people would know.

Psy had permission here,

but does it bother you or not
when you love a song,

and then you find out,
"Oh, part of that comes from another song."

- That kind of annoys me.

- It makes me so mad
'cause I'm just like,

"This is the best song ever,"
and then I'll go to my friends

and I'm like, "Look at what I found,"
-
and they're like,
"What are you talking about?
-
That was written by blah-blah-blah,
like, 20 years ago."

And I was like, "(miffed) Great. Awesome.
Ruined everything for me."

- Sometimes I feel bad
for the original artist
-
just because if people
like the cover or the song
-
that has a sample in it
better than the original
-
that kind of sucks.

- I feel like there's no real such thing
as originality any more.

As long as they're not
directly copying from the song
-
and they're turning it into their own thing,
-
they're allowing the idea
to evolve through their music,
-
then it's fine.

- (Finebros) Finally,
do you that this hype for Psy

will eventually die down
or do you imagine,
-
no matter what, for years and years,
if he has a music video
-
people are still gonna want to see it?

- I think maybe in a year or two
he might die down.

- I do believe that, at a certain point,
it's gonna decline slowly.

- I don't think he's
ever gonna hit that pinnacle
-
of Gangnam Style again,
but every time a big song's gonna come out,
-
it's gonna be like whoop,
and then chun, chun, chun,
-
and then back up again.

- Like many things in pop culture,
as things get bigger
-
and more outrageous,
Psy will just either have to keep up
-
or he'll die out.
-
- It's always gonna be a global fascination.

He's always going to be popular.

- Yes, I absolutely think Psy has created

a reputation for himself as someone
that does these crazy music videos
-
with these crazy songs
about outrageous things,
-
so any time one
of his music video comes out,

they're gonna watch it.
It's gonna get those millions of views.
