Art:21 | James Turrell

James Turrell's work involves explorations in light and space that speak to viewers without words, impacting the eye, body, and mind with the force of a spiritual awakening. Situated near the Grand Canyon and Arizona's Painted Desert is Roden Crater, an extinct volcano the artist has been transforming into a celestial observatory for the past thirty years. essendo possibile vederli solo in pochi altri posti sulla terra.

e provarlo fisicamente è quasi come assaporare le cose.

Inoltre io voglio ottenere qualità di luce veramente eccezionali.

Io voglio cogliere la luce delle stelle che proveniva dal sistema planetario,

che potrebbe essere più vecchio del nostro sistema solare

e si può ottenere quella luce e fisicamente averla in un luogo

tale che sia fisicamente presente al punto di percepire questa antica luce.

Questa è l'apertura del cratere

che quindi è uno spazio ellittico del cielo.

Lo spazio si colloca veramente nel cielo

e certamente gli eventi dal cielo ci passano attraverso

fino a scendere nel cratere.
