    -How did you get the ideo for Annoying Orange?

    -So if you've ever watched any of my old videos,

    you know that I love cheesy special effects

    Now, in the past, I've done a ton of talking food videos

    both for my YouTube channel and for sites like JibJab.

    Annoying Orange was kind of a combination of all these ideas

    and for some reason, the character just stuck.

    -Did you expect Annoying Orange to take off?

    -No, not all actually.

    The first video was intended to be the only Annoying Orange video,

    but people loved the character

    and here we are 60 episodes later.

    -Since you moved, will Annoying Orange be in a new kitchen?

    -Well, yes and no.

    You see, I'm actually standing in my garage right now

    not in the kitchen.

    After I moved,

    my good buddies Aaron Massey and Richard Ryan

    helped recreate the kitchen right here in my garage.

    -Who's Spencer Grove?

    -Spencer is a very good friend of mine

    that I met when I was going to college in Minnesota.

    He's a writer and filmmaker

    and after the first couple episodes of Orange,

    he started helping write almost all the episodes.

    -How did Grandpa Lemon come back?

    -Now I get asked this question about Grandpa Lemon and Grapefruit all the time.

    Yes, they were chopped up,

    but if you go back and watch the Halloween episode,
  • 1:42 - 1:45
    you'll notice that they were brought back to life by an evil scientist
  • 1:45 - 1:47
    and they've been back in action ever since.

    -Geronimo!

    -See? That totally makes sense.

    -Do you film the guest stars on the show?

    -Sometimes I actually do shoot the actors doing their parts.

    But since a lot of people live all over the place,

    I just give them directions,

    they shoot it and then send the footage back to me.

    -Shut up.

    -And then I take the best lines

    and put the footage together in After Effects.

    -Why do you use one eye instead of two for the characters?

    -Honestly, it's easier to animate.
  • 2:15 - 2:17
    It's way easier to take one eye
  • 2:17 - 2:18
    and copy-and-paste it
  • 2:18 - 2:19
    than try and composite two different eyes.
  • 2:19 - 2:22
    -Do you think Annoying Orange looks like Brad Pitt?

    -Now that's a good question.

    -No way.
