You might not have heard about us

because we feel we have no voice.

We're just ordinary people,

labeled as refugees, asylum seekers,

migrants all across the UK.

But we think it's time now
for us to speak out.

We are here to tell you why.

No one leaves home

unless home is the mouth of a shark.

It is not easy to arrive in a new country.

To survive on £5 a day.

To be locked out of work
and further education.

To be separated from the people we love.

To try and start all over again

in an unfamiliar land.

So we are raising our voices.

We want to work and give back

to make change,

to learn,

and be free.
