[Interview with a new member]

I'm Emika Mizukoshi, 21 years old. I'm
in my 4th-year at J.F. Oberlin University.

[ABOUT JOB HUNTING]
I plan to look for job next year;
so I'm not job hunting now.

The reason why I postponed my graduation
is that I'm interested in life overseas.

I'm thinking of living abroad
while I'm still a student.

In my second-year, I joined
a short-term study-abroad program;

so I've wanted to live abroad again.

I'd rather regret something I did
than something I didn't do.

That's what I thought.

[WHAT IS YOUR DREAM?]
I'm thinking of a few occupations:
I admire flight attendants,

or I'm thinking of working
in real estate or sales.

I've been working part-time
on a commission basis.

I want to work where even women
can make a decent amount of money.

[WHY DID YOU APPLY TO THE SHOW?]
I've never lived with strangers.

I'm the kind of person who wants
to experience different things.

So I've been interested in Terrace House.

I haven't had a boy friend
for about one and a half years.

I hope to fall in love.

[WHAT'S YOUR TYPE?]
I'm not a romantic person.

I am getting confused
about what's my type.

At least someone who has common sense
and looks clean and tidy.

My ex has common sense though...

Yeah, I'd like a guy who has a goal,

because my ex was an inconsistent person...

Of course, a guy who has a goal is good.

But also a guy who is looking for a goal.
is good. I'm in the same situation now.

Either way, a guy who makes the effort
to achieve a goal is attractive.

[HOW DO YOU FALL IN LOVE?]
I prefer going for a guy
rather than being pursued.

When I'm only a little
interested in a guy,

if he pursues me, then
that'll make me lose interest in him.

I want to pursue a guy,
but I'm not focused on romance...

I'm okay without romance. I enjoy
working and hanging out with my friends.

Before I realized it, a year and a half
has passed since my last relationship.

To be honest, I think
it's about time to fall in love.

[CONCERNS ABOUT SHARED LIVING]
When I studied abroad,

I lived in a dormitory with Americans,

I couldn't communicate with them very well
because of the language barrier.

There is no language barrier
on Terrace House.

We do all have different backgrounds
and do have different values;

So it won't be easy to live together.

Living with strangers...who I just met...

Well, living with the five people
will be interesting.

[DO YOU ENJOY DRINKING?]
I don't really drink alone at home,

but I often go drinking with my friends.

Drinking is a good way
to communicate with people.

So I want to enjoy drinking.

It isn't that I get drunk and go crazy,

But sometimes I force younger friends
to drink while grabbing them by the neck,

but it depends on the situation.

I often drink with older friends.

Even if I'm pretty drunk,

I can act like I'm not drunk.
No one notices I'm drunk.

I'm good at it.
