Transgender (Ask Teal Episode on Transgender and Transsexuality) - Teal Swan

  • 0:29 - 0:34
    Transgender
  • 0:35 - 0:37
    Hello, everyone.
  • 0:37 - 0:39
    Given that last week's topics
  • 0:39 - 0:42
    were about embracing the gender
that you chose upon coming into this life,
  • 0:42 - 0:44
I thought it only fitting to do this video
  • 0:44 - 0:48
    on transgender and transsexual individuals.
  • 0:48 - 0:52
    In the previous episodes
I stressed how important it is
  • 0:52 - 0:55
    to embrace the gender
    that you chose for yourself
  • 0:55 - 0:57
    upon coming into this life.
  • 0:57 - 0:59
The reason that I did that is because
  • 0:59 - 1:03
humanity, if you were to take a snapshot
of the way that humanity feels
  • 1:03 - 1:04
    relative to gender,
  • 1:05 - 1:07
we are in resistance to gender
  • 1:07 - 1:10
    and whatever you resist, persists.
  • 1:11 - 1:14
If you look at the life paths
    of the human race
  • 1:14 - 1:16
what we are a match to in the future
  • 1:16 - 1:18
    is becoming androgynous beings.
  • 1:19 - 1:20
    Because we contain both
  • 1:20 - 1:24
    divine feminine and divine masculine
    aspects within ourselves,
  • 1:24 - 1:26
and where we are headed is towards unity
  • 1:26 - 1:29
    instead of the duality
    which currently exists,
  • 1:30 - 1:32
    then you would understand
  • 1:32 - 1:33
    that the human race
  • 1:33 - 1:37
    is going to eventually be
    a race with no gender.
  • 1:37 - 1:40
But if we are in resistance to gender,
  • 1:40 - 1:43
we are going to stay a match to gender,
  • 1:43 - 1:44
    including gender issues.
  • 1:44 - 1:45
    And so...
  • 1:46 - 1:48
I have explained in the past
  • 1:48 - 1:50
    that when you're moving
    from where you currently are
  • 1:50 - 1:52
to a place of forgiveness sake,
  • 1:52 - 1:54
    you can't jump that gap.
  • 1:54 - 1:57
    It's like expecting yourself
    to jump the Grand Canyon.
  • 1:57 - 1:59
And so when you look at the human race
  • 1:59 - 2:01
    we are expecting ourselves
    to jump the Grand Canyon
  • 2:01 - 2:03
when we move from where we are
  • 2:03 - 2:05
    to embracing and androgyny.
  • 2:05 - 2:08
    What we need to do
is release resistance to our gender first.
  • 2:08 - 2:12
So that looks like releasing resistance
to my feminine nature if I'm a female,
  • 2:12 - 2:15
and in learning to embrace it.
  • 2:15 - 2:16
    Or if you're a male,
  • 2:16 - 2:19
    that looks like releasing resistance
of being a male and embracing it.
  • 2:19 - 2:22
    This is the first step
    which humanity needs to take
  • 2:22 - 2:24
which we need to take as individuals
  • 2:24 - 2:26
when we're headed in the direction
  • 2:26 - 2:30
    of discovering the energetic
    nature of ourselves,
  • 2:30 - 2:32
    which is void of gender.
  • 2:32 - 2:36
When it looks like I am becoming
the embodiment of my eternal higher self,
  • 2:36 - 2:39
    understanding that higher self
    is void of gender.
  • 2:40 - 2:44
    It is both unified aspects
    of male and female.
  • 2:44 - 2:47
The next step after embracing the gender
  • 2:47 - 2:49
that we choose physically for this life,
  • 2:49 - 2:52
is to search for both aspects
    within yourself.
  • 2:52 - 2:56
Why? Because we try to get back
to the truth of who we are.
  • 2:56 - 2:59
This is what we are all doing here,
    seeking enlightenment.
  • 2:59 - 3:01
The truth of who we are is energy.
  • 3:02 - 3:04
    Energy is void of gender.
  • 3:04 - 3:07
    It has no duality,
    and so it is androgynous.
  • 3:07 - 3:10
    Thus, androgynous people
    have a unique advantage.
  • 3:10 - 3:11
    They are actually closer
  • 3:11 - 3:14
    to being the physical expression
    of the higher self.
  • 3:15 - 3:18
    With people who are
    transgender or transsexual
  • 3:18 - 3:19
    it's a little different.
  • 3:20 - 3:23
It's that when they come into
    the physical experience
  • 3:23 - 3:25
of the gender that they originally chose,
  • 3:25 - 3:28
    they don't actually feel
    that they fit with it.
  • 3:29 - 3:30
So if you came in a male,
  • 3:31 - 3:33
you may identify yourself as female
  • 3:33 - 3:37
and be very frustrated for years
because you are stuck in a male body
  • 3:37 - 3:39
Or maybe you came in female,
  • 3:39 - 3:41
and you don't identify with being female,
  • 3:41 - 3:43
you feel as if you're really male.
  • 3:43 - 3:46
    So you're sort of trapped
as an alien in your own skin.
  • 3:48 - 3:52
If you come into a body
that you do not identify with,
  • 3:52 - 3:55
that creates a certain amount of resistance
  • 3:55 - 3:56
    in and of itself.
  • 3:57 - 4:00
Which is why the first step
    for transgender and transsexual people
  • 4:00 - 4:05
    is to release resistance
to the very gender that you were born.
  • 4:06 - 4:09
    Resistance to your gender
keep you stuck in that gender.
  • 4:09 - 4:12
    So, releasing resistance to it,
  • 4:12 - 4:15
    which means finding ways
    to positively focus towards it
  • 4:15 - 4:18
will actually enable you to let go of it.
  • 4:18 - 4:21
And then you can allow yourself
    to choose a lifestyle
  • 4:21 - 4:23
    and even a body
that you feel reflects the real you.
  • 4:24 - 4:27
    Focusing towards your gender,
the one you don't want to be,
  • 4:27 - 4:29
    in a positive way,
    is not the same thing
  • 4:29 - 4:32
    as trying to force yourself
    to be that thing.
  • 4:34 - 4:36
    So many transgender people
  • 4:36 - 4:38
spend years trying to force themselves
  • 4:38 - 4:40
to be something other than what they are.
  • 4:40 - 4:42
And it drives many of them to suicide.
  • 4:44 - 4:46
    So for the transgender individual,
  • 4:46 - 4:50
their task is to release resistance
to the current gender they are,
  • 4:50 - 4:52
    and then to allow themselves
  • 4:52 - 4:57
to flow in the direction of whatever
they feel that they really want to be.
  • 4:57 - 4:58
Which is who you really are.
  • 4:59 - 5:03
While it is true that many
    transgender individuals
  • 5:03 - 5:06
do not want to go through
    with a full sex change,
  • 5:06 - 5:08
I think it's really important to talk about
  • 5:08 - 5:10
the concept of a sex change.
  • 5:10 - 5:14
Because it is a very big topic
    within the transgender community
  • 5:14 - 5:18
    and many transgender people
choose to go through sex change.
  • 5:18 - 5:20
If you pay attention to the way you feel
  • 5:20 - 5:23
    about the sex that you
    no longer want to be,
  • 5:23 - 5:26
you will be able to tell whether
    you're wanting this sex change
  • 5:26 - 5:29
    because you're resisting something
that you don't want to be,
  • 5:29 - 5:31
or because you're wanting to change
  • 5:32 - 5:35
    because you're allowing yourself
to be who you want to be,
  • 5:35 - 5:37
which is who you really are.
  • 5:37 - 5:39
    If you're doing this,
  • 5:39 - 5:41
if you're wanting this sex change
    because of resistance,
  • 5:42 - 5:45
    i.e. negative emotion towards
    the sex you currently are,
  • 5:45 - 5:49
it's important to first release resistance
to the gender you currently are
  • 5:49 - 5:52
    and then revisit the idea
    of changing your sex
  • 5:52 - 5:54
    once that resistance is released.
  • 5:54 - 5:56
You may find you don't want a sex change.
  • 5:56 - 6:00
But in fact, it is much more likely
that you will still want a sex change.
  • 6:00 - 6:01
    But this time,
  • 6:01 - 6:04
    you will be completely
    in alignment with it,
  • 6:04 - 6:06
    and you'll be doing it
    for all the right reasons.
  • 6:07 - 6:09
    So for example,
  • 6:09 - 6:10
if you are born a male,
  • 6:10 - 6:13
and you identify yourself as female,
  • 6:13 - 6:17
this doesn't mean that you have to
    stop wearing female clothes,
  • 6:17 - 6:20
you have to stop doing whatever you do
  • 6:20 - 6:23
    to enable yourself to project
the outward image of being feminine,
  • 6:23 - 6:27
it just means that you have to sit down
and be very honest with yourself
  • 6:27 - 6:28
    in terms of your thoughts
  • 6:28 - 6:30
and start doing some real shadow work,
  • 6:30 - 6:32
    finding those core beliefs
  • 6:32 - 6:35
and transmuting healing those core beliefs
  • 6:35 - 6:38
    relative to being male.
  • 6:39 - 6:44
So you don't have to walk around like
a macho man, just to embrace maleness,
  • 6:44 - 6:46
    if you came in male,
    and identify as female.
  • 6:46 - 6:48
You just have to look at your thoughts
  • 6:48 - 6:50
and release resistance to those thoughts.
  • 6:50 - 6:52
    You can still let yourself
    dress like a woman
  • 6:53 - 6:56
and continue going through the steps
    of becoming a woman,
  • 6:56 - 6:58
    if that's what you wish.
  • 6:58 - 7:01
I just want to stress how important it is
  • 7:01 - 7:06
    for individuals that have
    any kind of identity issue,
  • 7:06 - 7:08
because that's what it really is.
  • 7:08 - 7:10
While transgender is not a disorder,
  • 7:11 - 7:12
    it is still an issue
  • 7:12 - 7:15
because of the culture that we live in.
  • 7:15 - 7:19
And so, anytime you have an issue,
    any resistance, negative emotion
  • 7:19 - 7:22
    it's really important
to look at those negative emotions
  • 7:22 - 7:25
    and work through them
    and heal them.
  • 7:26 - 7:29
So now I'm going to tell you
    the real reason
  • 7:29 - 7:31
    that people are Transgender;
  • 7:32 - 7:35
    And it has to do
    with a pre birth intention.
  • 7:35 - 7:38
    The pre birth intention
    for people who come down
  • 7:38 - 7:40
    transgender or transsexual
  • 7:41 - 7:44
    is the search for identity.
  • 7:45 - 7:48
Which can be rewritten to mean this:
  • 7:49 - 7:52
    "If I am transgender
    or if I am transsexual
  • 7:52 - 7:55
    my intention for this life
  • 7:55 - 7:57
    is authenticity."
  • 7:57 - 8:00
    You can't find authenticity
  • 8:00 - 8:03
    until you experience
    what is not authentic.
  • 8:04 - 8:06
In order to find who you really are,
  • 8:06 - 8:10
which is what we're really talking about
    when we're talking about authenticity,
  • 8:10 - 8:12
you have to experience what it is
  • 8:12 - 8:14
    to live a life
  • 8:14 - 8:17
where you are lying to yourself
    about who you are.
  • 8:17 - 8:21
    Now, this requires identity crisis.
  • 8:22 - 8:24
    So, an identity crisis
  • 8:24 - 8:29
can be caused by either coming down
    and feeling void of identity,
  • 8:29 - 8:33
    or coming down and feeling
as if you are stuck in the wrong identity.
  • 8:33 - 8:35
    This is the real reason
  • 8:35 - 8:38
that people choose to become transgender
  • 8:38 - 8:42
    upon choosing the body
they come into and incarnate in,
  • 8:42 - 8:46
upon choosing the lifestyle they choose
to come into when they incarnate.
  • 8:47 - 8:51
So, think about the intense contrast,
    and thus expansion
  • 8:51 - 8:55
    that is caused by choosing
    to come down transgender.
  • 8:56 - 9:02
Gender is the first form of identity
second to choosing to come in as human.
  • 9:03 - 9:05
    Talk about an identity crisis.
  • 9:06 - 9:08
    This identity crisis
  • 9:08 - 9:12
causes transgender people to go through
    a period of identity development.
  • 9:13 - 9:16
    Spiritually, they intended before birth
    to come down into contrast
  • 9:16 - 9:19
that would cause them to ask
some of the very biggest questions
  • 9:19 - 9:20
    relative to authenticity.
  • 9:20 - 9:22
    The first being,
  • 9:22 - 9:24
the need to understand one's self-image.
  • 9:24 - 9:25
    The second being,
  • 9:25 - 9:28
    the need for self-reflection
    and self-discovery.
  • 9:28 - 9:29
    And the third being,
  • 9:29 - 9:31
    the need for self-expression.
  • 9:32 - 9:34
    Once a transgender individual
  • 9:34 - 9:36
    feels genuine, authentic and comfortable
    within themselves
  • 9:36 - 9:38
    and their external appearance,
  • 9:38 - 9:41
    and once they accept
    their genuine identity,
  • 9:41 - 9:44
they have found what is called
    "Transgender Congruence".
  • 9:44 - 9:48
    This transgender congruence
is a lesson for the rest of the world.
  • 9:49 - 9:52
That you can only ever be happy
if you do what is in your heart.
  • 9:52 - 9:53
You can only ever be happy,
  • 9:53 - 9:56
if you are living a life that is
authentic to who you really are.
  • 9:56 - 10:01
And our external bodies do not
always reflect who we really are.
  • 10:01 - 10:03
And so, it is more than okay
  • 10:03 - 10:06
    for someone who is male,
but feels as if their true self is female,
  • 10:06 - 10:08
to get a sex change and switch,
  • 10:08 - 10:10
from male to female or vice versa.
  • 10:11 - 10:15
We did not come here to allow ourselves
to be defined by anyone else.
  • 10:15 - 10:18
Free will is an absolute of your existence.
  • 10:18 - 10:20
You chose to come into this life
  • 10:20 - 10:23
    as a male or female
  • 10:23 - 10:26
and so you can un-choose it if you'd like.
  • 10:26 - 10:29
You want to make sure that
any decision you make in life,
  • 10:29 - 10:30
    including changing gender,
  • 10:30 - 10:32
is coming from a positive emotional space
  • 10:32 - 10:34
instead of a negative emotional space.
  • 10:34 - 10:36
You want to make sure you're doing it
  • 10:36 - 10:39
    because changing your gender
means going in the direction of happiness,
  • 10:39 - 10:41
    not running away from something.
  • 10:42 - 10:45
    If it is coming from
    a positive place within you,
  • 10:45 - 10:48
go ahead and change the gender
    that you came in as.
  • 10:48 - 10:50
No one gave you this body,
  • 10:50 - 10:52
you chose it before coming in.
  • 10:53 - 10:56
We like to tell the story
    relative to transgender individuals
  • 10:56 - 10:59
    which is that you're rejecting
the truth of who you are
  • 10:59 - 11:01
if you want to change your sex.
  • 11:01 - 11:05
    And while on rare occasions
    this can be true,
  • 11:05 - 11:07
    it is usually not true.
  • 11:08 - 11:09
    Usually becoming transgender
  • 11:09 - 11:13
has nothing to do with rejecting
the truth of who you are.
  • 11:13 - 11:16
It has to do with embracing
the truth of who you are.
  • 11:17 - 11:20
Being transgender has to do with
    learning the lesson of authenticity
  • 11:20 - 11:23
    and being brave enough
to teach that lesson to the world
  • 11:23 - 11:25
    by virtue of your example.
  • 11:25 - 11:27
You helped us not get stuck in gender.
  • 11:28 - 11:29
You teach the rest of us
  • 11:29 - 11:31
that we do not have to be
    defined by anything
  • 11:31 - 11:34
other than who we feel we are
    in our hearts.
  • 11:34 - 11:38
That is a lesson we all need
    desperately.
  • 11:38 - 11:40
It is not just you who has lived a lie,
  • 11:40 - 11:42
    most people live lies.
  • 11:42 - 11:44
We suffer because we live lies
  • 11:44 - 11:46
and do not let the real us
    out of the closet.
  • 11:46 - 11:48
    So teach us.
  • 11:49 - 11:52
Teach us by the clarity of your example
  • 11:52 - 11:54
what it means to be authentic to ourselves.
  • 11:54 - 11:57
    There is nothing that
    has gone wrong with you.
  • 11:57 - 12:00
    This is why I feel
as if it is not beneficial
  • 12:00 - 12:03
for me to go into the lifestyle conditions,
  • 12:03 - 12:05
    biochemical conditions,
  • 12:05 - 12:07
    or anatomical conditions
  • 12:07 - 12:10
    that have been linked
    to the cause of transgender.
  • 12:10 - 12:12
    Those things are nothing
    but a byproduct
  • 12:12 - 12:16
of a pre birth intention for you
to come down to this body,
  • 12:16 - 12:17
to go through an identity crisis,
  • 12:17 - 12:21
so you could find out who
your true authentic self really is.
  • 12:22 - 12:23
    In other words,
  • 12:23 - 12:26
if you are transgender or transsexual
  • 12:26 - 12:29
nothing about you needs to be fixed.
  • 12:29 - 12:30
    You are not mentally ill.
  • 12:30 - 12:32
There is nothing wrong with you.
