The ritual of music | Magdalena Fleitas | TEDxRíodelaPlata

In this nanotalk (a very short talk), Magdalena Fleitas takes us for an immersion in the rituals of musical language. Magdalena Fleitas is a music therapist, musician, teacher and writer. She is the creator of the pedagogy and musical school "Laughter from Earth". Her work is characterized by integrating children and adults into a collective party. As a singer and songwriter for children and family, she won a lot of awards, performed in the most important theaters in the country and released 5 CDs for children ... all with laughter (the last one, "Risas del Sol" received the Carlos Gardel Award as best children's album). She composed music for Paka Paka and wrote the book/CD “Upbringing and art. The magic of learning.” She is curator of the space for children of the CCK.

Making music is waking the inner world
and sharing it with others.

You don't have to play an instrument
or be a musician to inhabit in music.

You know why?

Because music is already in us.

Since we were born, in beats,

in pulses, in rhythms.

♫ The sun rises, the moon rises, my life ♫

But also music lives in breaks;

in silence.

And teaches us the art
of listening and being receptive.

Music is a language
that integrates worlds.

Since we are small
and we play with sounds

as if they were toys.

(Playful sounds)

Until we grow up and take music with us.

And it also creates bridges.

It builds bonds among
institutions, families, schools,

so that can move forward together
and grow as a community.

Music generates rituals
to accompany everyday life.

So we can welcome each other,

say goodbye through games and songs.
