How to draw on a PDF in Adobe Acrobat Reader for FREE

  • 0:00 - 0:03
Hi. How to draw on a PDF? This is a quick
  • 0:03 - 0:05
    tip guide.
  • 0:05 - 0:07
Now you open your PDF in Adobe Acrobat
  • 0:07 - 0:09
    Reader,
  • 0:09 - 0:11
and once you've done that it's not
  • 0:11 - 0:13
obvious where the drawing tools are, but
  • 0:13 - 0:16
what you want to find is the comments.
  • 0:16 - 0:18
Scroll down this bar here and see
  • 0:18 - 0:20
    comment there.
  • 0:20 - 0:22
Now if it's some reason you don't see it
  • 0:22 - 0:24
there, you can go into tools,
  • 0:24 - 0:26
    then comment
  • 0:26 - 0:28
and that will open up all the drawing
  • 0:28 - 0:30
    tools.
  • 0:30 - 0:31
Now what you're looking for is the pen
  • 0:31 - 0:34
tool which is this one here. So, when you
  • 0:34 - 0:36
click on it it's activated, when you
  • 0:36 - 0:38
click on again it's not activated, it
  • 0:38 - 0:40
    goes back to arrow.
  • 0:40 - 0:42
So, if I want to create a new drawing
  • 0:42 - 0:45
I'll left mouse click on it and then I
  • 0:45 - 0:46
    can draw
  • 0:46 - 0:49
    on the PDF.
  • 0:49 - 0:51
Now as you can see it's created a new
  • 0:51 - 0:54
annotation for that section there, so if
  • 0:54 - 0:56
I go through what's previously been
  • 0:56 - 0:57
    highlighted
  • 0:57 - 1:00
and click on there it comes up all in
  • 1:00 - 1:01
    one. You can
  • 1:01 - 1:03
do other things with it. So, you can
  • 1:03 - 1:06
    change the color, for example,
  • 1:06 - 1:09
you can change the line thickness
  • 1:10 - 1:12
and that is just for that one. Now to
  • 1:12 - 1:14
create another one what you do is
  • 1:14 - 1:17
uncheck the pencil tool and check it
  • 1:17 - 1:18
    again
  • 1:18 - 1:20
and then it goes into newer mode, and you
  • 1:20 - 1:21
    can pick
  • 1:21 - 1:22
    different color,
  • 1:22 - 1:26
    different line thicknesses
  • 1:26 - 1:29
and it creates a new annotation.
  • 1:30 - 1:32
So, you'll find that on the right hand
  • 1:32 - 1:33
    side.
  • 1:33 - 1:35
Now I've got two, I've got this one here
  • 1:35 - 1:37
and I've got this one here.
  • 1:37 - 1:39
Now if I want to delete one of them I
  • 1:39 - 1:41
can do we can just highlight it and
  • 1:41 - 1:43
    press delete key.
  • 1:43 - 1:45
    I can also rub out
  • 1:45 - 1:47
    parts of one as well.
  • 1:47 - 1:48
    So, if I
  • 1:48 - 1:50
left mouse click on there and then click
  • 1:50 - 1:52
    on the rubber,
  • 1:53 - 1:54
    make sure it's selected.
  • 1:54 - 1:56
It should have that little black mark
  • 1:56 - 1:58
there and it should show a rubber as a
  • 1:58 - 2:01
cursor, I can rub out parts of it. It's
  • 2:01 - 2:03
not the greatest in the world where it
  • 2:03 - 2:05
works so these are little bits for
  • 2:05 - 2:08
example well that's now done so I can
  • 2:08 - 2:09
    finish that off.
  • 2:09 - 2:11
    As you can see,
  • 2:11 - 2:13
it doesn't append it to existing
  • 2:13 - 2:16
(INDISTINCT) it creates a new one,
  • 2:16 - 2:18
with that I can change it to green
  • 2:18 - 2:20
and I can change the thickness to
  • 2:20 - 2:22
    whatever I want,
  • 2:22 - 2:25
so now I've got two together.
  • 2:25 - 2:27
So, that's a quick guide on how to use a
  • 2:27 - 2:29
drawing tool. When you're finished click,
  • 2:29 - 2:33
save file menu, save as and
  • 2:33 - 2:36
    save it to there,
  • 2:36 - 2:38
can reload it later and send it to other
  • 2:38 - 2:40
    people. And that's a quick
  • 2:40 - 2:42
guide on how to use the drawing tool in
  • 2:42 - 2:44
    Adobe reader.
  • 2:44 - 2:47
    Give it a try.
