Do you think going vegan means giving up your
favorite holiday meals? Does a turkey-free
-
Thanksgiving sound desolate and wrong?
-
Is your only impression of a vegan Thanksgiving this thing?
-
[horror music]
-
Well fear not,
because I’m here to show you how to have
-
a deliciously abundant and epically ethical
thanksgiving dinner.
-
Hi it’s Emily from Bite Size Vegan and welcome
to another vegan nugget. While Thanksgiving
-
is certainly a time to gather with family
and focus on the things we’re grateful for,
-
if we’re really being honest, it’s about
food. Lots and lots of food.
-
Now if you’re a new vegan or considering
going vegan, the idea of a Thanksgiving without
-
the familiar turkey-based array may seem disheartening.
That’s why today I’ve brought in a team
-
of specialists to create an epic vegan spread
for your holiday meal. Here at Bite Size Vegan,
-
I tend to focus on the “why” of being
vegan, speaking to the ethical and moral basis
-
for a vegan lifestyle and encouraging people
to make the connection between the food on
-
their plate and the individuals from which
it originated. To find out about the ethical
-
issues with American Thanksgiving, including
the horrors that turkeys endure, you can check
-
out my video on the truth about Thanksgiving.
But equally important is the “how” of
-
being vegan because you can make the connection
and decide to never eat at the expense of
-
another being again, but strong ethics and
morals won’t make you a sandwich.
-
Trust me…I’ve tried.
-
And if you know me, you’re familiar with
my serious lack of culinary skills. So I’ve
-
teamed up with eight incredibly kitchen-adept
vegan YouTubers to bring you the “how to”
-
of an epically ethical Thanksgiving dinner.
They’re each going to give you a little
-
peak into their dish and then I’ll give
you the link to the full playlist a the end.
-
And when you do head over to their videos,
be sure to hit their subscribe buttons for
-
more tasty vegan meal ideas. So without further
ado, let’s get thankful!

Mary’s Test Kitchen starts us
off with a stuffed Seitan Roast with Mushroom gravy.
-
Mary: This Thanksgiving, hail Seitan! with
this savory seitan roast stuffed with herbacious
-
classic holiday red dressing. Show no mercy
and drown it in mushroom gravy. And pay no
-
attention to the mess as you devour its innards-
it's delicious, cruelty-free innards, that is.
-
Sim’s Kitchenette brings us a festive stuffed
pumpkin recipe.

unique take on a thanksgiving staple with

as sweet as you're used to- this is so much
-
better for us.
