Hello, I’m in a really good mood today,
  • 0:17 - 0:23

the sun is out and that always brings a smile to my face. How are you feeling today?
  • 0:23 - 0:27

I’m feeling stressed due to a lot of work.
  • 0:27 - 0:30

I’m feeling quite happy and confident, the weather certainly helps,
  • 0:30 - 0:33

it’s a bright sunny day, so I’m feeling quite optimistic.
  • 0:33 - 0:35

I’m excited about my project for school,
  • 0:35 - 0:37

we are doing a documentary on film.
  • 0:37 - 0:41

Feeling pretty good. I’m feeling good because I’m on a day
  • 0:41 - 0:44

out with my friend and we are having a fun time.
  • 0:44 - 0:48

Very happy very relaxed, we have a day off my wife and I.
  • 0:48 - 0:52

I’ve had a good start to my day, I woke up early and had a good breakfast
  • 0:52 - 0:58

so I suppose I’m feeling well balanced and optimistic about my afternoon.
  • 0:58 - 1:02

Today’s a good day visiting from New York.
  • 1:02 - 1:09

Really good, it’s a beautiful day, the sun is shining and I’m just wandering about London, it’s nice.
  • 1:10 - 1:14

Would you describe yourself as an optimist or a pessimist?
  • 1:14 - 1:19

One hundred per cent optimist, I think that you always have to look on the bright side,
  • 1:19 - 1:25

and I know it’s cheesy but it’s best to think of what you can do, not what you could have done.
  • 1:25 - 1:28

I think I’m an optimist, I think generally I look on the bright side.
  • 1:28 - 1:35

hopefully I see the best in people, I don’t expect bad, you know, disasters or to be let down in things
  • 1:35 - 1:41

I’d say I swing between the two, I mean I’m pretty optimistic about myself.
  • 1:41 - 1:46

I’m very optimistic, whenever I get in a tricky situation,
  • 1:46 - 1:49

I might get a bit frustrated at first but I always manage
  • 1:49 - 1:51
to pull myself through and think of the positives.
  • 1:51 - 1:53

I consider myself to be more of a functional pessimist,
  • 1:53 - 1:56

I do tend to plan in case of the worst case,
  • 1:56 - 2:00

but more often than not I’m happy and surprised when things go well.
  • 2:00 - 2:04

Probably an optimist but I like to be realistic about things and then I’m not disappointed.
  • 2:04 - 2:07

    I think I’m an optimist.
  • 2:09 - 2:12

What’s the best thing that’s happened to you this year?
  • 2:12 - 2:15

The best thing that’s happened to me in the last twelve months,
  • 2:15 - 2:19

is the success of the business my wife and I opened in Oxford last June.
  • 2:19 - 2:21

The best thing that’s happened to me this year is the
  • 2:21 - 2:25

success I’ve had in the garden growing vegetables and flowers.
  • 2:25 - 2:32

I got all distinctions, all distinction stars and a-stars in my last project in art.
  • 2:32 - 2:37

I went to Canada to visit my father with my boyfriend a couple of weeks ago,
  • 2:37 - 2:41

that was really nice, we got to see lots of amazing sights.
  • 2:41 - 2:48

Getting into university. It was really difficult because there was a lot of applicants,
  • 2:48 - 2:53

a very high standard and I managed to get a spot.
  • 2:53 - 2:58

I met my boyfriend, well I didn’t meet him, actually, I met him years ago
  • 2:58 - 3:01

but we got together and became a couple which is good.
  • 3:01 - 3:05

So, I think that is the best thing that’s happened, this year for me.
  • 3:05 - 3:07

The best thing that happened to me this year was
  • 3:07 - 3:10

getting a job as a trainee solicitor at a firm in London.
  • 3:10 - 3:16

I’m really excited about it, it’s very difficult to get into, and it’s like the culmination of a lot of hard work
  • 3:16 - 3:20

over a long time, and so I’m really happy about it.
