"Face Time" with the Father

In Matthew 3:16-17, we read about three things that are happening; the Father’s voice out of heaven, the Spirit of God Himself coming down on Yeshua, and Yeshua Himself receiving these incredible words, “This is my beloved Son with whom I am well pleased."

This is the goal. Intimacy with the Father. Not just knowing that we are loved, but that He is pleased with us. According to Romans 8:14-16, we are also the sons of God through the leading of the Spirit. With the spirit of sonship, we can come to the Father, look Him in the face, and say, "You are the best Dad in the whole world."

We want to know what our loving Heavenly Father is feeling and thinking. That might seem impossible, but, according to I Cor 2:10-12, God has revealed all the deep desires of His heart to us through His Spirit. The God who has made the galaxies and the sub-atomic particles, has given us His Spirit so we can know His thoughts. Wow.

We want to spend time in His Presence everyday. As we look into His face, we are transformed into His glory as beloved children. Yeshua is the perfect Son, and we want to be like Him.

We want to have daily “face time” with the Father; a face-to-face relationship with Him where we are filled with His Spirit, hear what is on His heart and allow ourselves to be transformed into His likeness. Our goal is to hear Him say, “You, also, are my son and daughter and I am well pleased with you”.
This is the secret meaning of the Aaronic benediction: to have a personal relationship with God and to have our faces shine with His glory.
