-
Healing the wounded child in our parents.
-
In the same sitting meditation session.
-
After you have looked deeply into yourself as a child,
-
you can move on to look deeply into your father as a child
-
and then into your mother as a child.
-
Many teenagers have reported that this guided meditation
-
helps them to see their parents for the first time as children,
-
fragile, vulnerable and having suffering of their own.
-
You may not be able to contemplate yourself
-
or your parents as children in the first session.
-
You may cry or freeze because so much pain arises.
-
In this case, stay with the breathing and maintain a stable posture.
-
You can also stop this meditation and go back to it another time when you feel more ready.
-
As you practiced this guided meditation a few times,
-
you will experience more empathy and understanding for your parents.
-
You may also choose to look deeply into the child in yourself,
-
in your father, and in your mother in separate sitting sessions.
