This episode: Face Swap Live!

- (Finebros) So today,
you're not reacting to a video.

- Uh-oh. Uh-oh.

- Oh, gosh, not again. Oh no.

- (Finebros) Instead,
you're reacting to an app.

- Ooh, I can see myself.

- (excited) Fine. Oh hi, I'm on this.

- Oh my gosh, what is it doing to my face?

- I have no clue what this is.

- Makes you look different, I guess.

- Oh my gosh, is this the Face Swap?

- Is this Face Swap? (gasps) It is!

- Ugh! No.

- (children) Question time!

- (Finebros) This app
is called Face Swap Live.

- Oh, it's the Face Swap app!

- I do not recognize it at all.

- (Finebros) Well, it lets you
switch faces with a friend

or a celebrity or pretty much anyone.

- Ohh. My friend has this app.

- Ooh, a celebrity?
Wow, I want to do this.

- (Finebros) So we're gonna
let you play around

a little bit with the app.
- Okay.

- (Finebros) Now, we put every kid

that's gonna be in
this episode down there.

So choose any of the kids,

and then you can put
your face on their face.

- Okay.

- Let's swap faces with Brooke.

Oh my gosh. I look so weird.

- All my friends say I look like a girl,

so I'll have to do a girl.

I'm so pretty.

- I want to see how I look on myself.

I look the same.

- Oh, I'm here! (giggles)

Aah! (laughs)

- Let's be Lucas.

Oh my god, I don't look as cute as Lucas.

- I'm gonna do Jaxon.

(surprised) Oh my god!

- This looks so weird.

- I don't look good in this.

- Looks like they stitched
me to their face.

- (giggling) This is horrifying!

- (Finebros) All right, so there's
also, if you keep going,

we put some celebrity pictures there too.

Choose one of the celebrities
and pretend you're them.

- I don't really know
many of these people.

- Vin Diesel.

Yeah. Fast and Furious.

- Let's be Adele.

♪ Hello from the other side! ♪

I need wind blowing in the hair.

- Hi, I'm Justin Bieber. How are you?

♪ What do you mean? ♪

- You guys are my Belieber-- (giggles)

- I need to be the queen, Miranda.

(imitating) What the hey?

- (imitating) Hey guys,
this is me, Miranda.

- (imitating) Stop it, 'kay?

- (Finebros) Okay, so
there's also mask mode.

It puts their face on your face.

- (laughs)

- (whispering) Kylo Ren.

Oh my gosh.

- Let's be Miley.

- What the heck?!

- Whoa!! What did you do to my face?!

- ♪ Came in like a wrecking ball ♪

- Whoa! Ho-ha-ha!

(flauntingly) I have makeup on.

- Ew. Miranda looks hideous on mine.

- #WhereMyBaesAt.

- Her lip looks like
it's eating my actual lip.

- (giggling)

- This is actually kinda cool. I like it.

- Seems like the evolved
version of Photo Booth.

- This technology is so crazy.

- (Finebros) All right, that's all
the time we have for the app.

- Okay.

(snickers)

- (Finebros) Why do you think
people like to see their face

on someone else's face?
- Because it's funny.

Like, if you swap faces with a cat,

you're gonna laugh your head off.

- It's like being somebody
for Halloween just for a photo.

- Let's say you want to play princesses,

and you use this app
and record yourself doing it.

Like, it's kind of weird but
fun and cool at the same time.

- They want to be like
one of their favorite stars.

You could be Dan from Dan and Phil,
or you could be PewDiePie.

- (Finebros) The app
has other features too,

like you can record a video
with a friend next to you,

and your faces will swap live.
- Really? Ooh, that's cool.

- (Finebros) And you can go online,

and you can pick any picture
and load it into the app.

- Oh my gosh, that's awesome.

- (Finebros) You even can
search on the app's feed

and see what other people are posting.

What do you think about these features?

- Oh, that's cool. I want to do that.

- (singsongy) That's actually
pretty cool! Holla!

- That's pretty cool.

Weird. I don't know why
we have a use for this.

But cool.

- It's a way to incorporate
your friends into it

or just anybody really.

It makes you feel like you're
together but face-swapped.

- (Finebros) Do you use apps a lot?
- Me? No. I play outside.

- Yeah, of course.

Pocket Mortys, Rick and Morty.

- I'm a big Instagramer.

- I only use YouTube.

- I go on a lot of social media.

- Well, I have a bazillion apps on my iPad

but most of them I never even go on.

- I don't have a lot,

because I don't have
a lot of storage on my phone,

'cause I take a lot of pictures.

- I will seriously be on
my iPad or on my phone

mostly six hours a day.

- (Finebros) So with all
the apps that are out now,

is this better or worse than most of them?
- Worse.

I don't like my identity
and all my face popping up

and like, "Why is that happening?"

- This is worse, because
when you look at it,

it just doesn't look real.

- If you're hanging out with
your friends and you're bored,

then you'll be like,
"Hey, let's swap faces,

but we can't do this for five hours."

- You can seriously only
do, like, switch faces.

In other apps, like Dubsmash,

you can seriously do a lot
of different things, which is amazing.

- It's not perfect. It's not terrible.
It's like in the middle.

- I've seen a couple like this,

but they aren't as good as this one.

- I use Photo Booth,
but this is way better obviously.

- Nothing else compares to this.

Like, yeah, there's things that can

change the definition of your face.

But this thing swaps faces
in an instant, like that.

- (Finebros) So apps though
are kind of a newer thing

in the world. There wasn't
iPhones and iPads forever.

Can you imagine a world with no apps?
- No. I can't.

That's when people
were acting like animals.

- They probably had jobs
or they did homework.

- They would actually be like--
they would talk face to face,

which is weird.

- That's wow. Even when I was
little, there were still apps.

- I would die.

You need something to do

after you finish your homework
and do all this stuff.

You need to play a game.

- Life would be different,
but it wouldn't be too different.

It's just a thing on an iPad.

- I would prefer a world without apps.

Kids are usually like, "No,
I don't want to do this and this,"

'cause they're playing video games.

I'm like, "No, let me
finish this one game."

And then I never stop.

- (Finebros) Okay, so finally,
back to Face Swap,

do you think this app
is gonna keep being popular

for a long time, or do you
think this is something

that won't last?

- You know, I think it will be
popular for a couple of years.

- Popular now and then fade away.

- It'll be replaced.

- Probably gonna be popular.

- It might last a while.

- Not gonna stay popular for a long time.

- They're just gonna see
a new app and go to that one.

- It would stay popular for a long time.

- I think it's gonna be here for a while.

- This app will be popular for a while.

- There will be other apps coming out,

and then people will just
forget about that one.

- Fade out slowly.

It's creepy. I don't like it at all.

I love my face. I look cute.
I just look lovely.

I don't want my face to be ripped off

and put on somebody else's face. No.
