Adobe Fresco 使い方★ 最強のブラシがキター！

Hello, everyone.

Today, I gonna introduce a new iPad App.

It is Adobe Fresco, comes from Adobe.

It has been looked forward to, and finally here it is.

You can use Vector and Raster data on this app.

Vector is a kind of Illustrator painting with Bézier Curve.

Raster is used for photo editing.

You can say it is for Photoshop.

So, Adobe Fresco is a kind of mixture, Illustrator and Photoshop.

Also, Fresco has Watercolor painting and Oil painting function. They are awesome.

Because of Adobe Sensei, Adobe's original AI.

Sensei works to express water bleeding and Oil thickness.

They works really well and fantastic. Let me introduce them today.

OK, here is startup display.

On the left side, there is learning tab.

It has a lot of tutorials about Fresco.

Let me explain and use this function if you stacked.

Here is a present screen size.

Preset is fit to your iPad screen.

So when you don't have to select screen size, use the preset.

On the left side, you can edit brush settings and so on.

From the top, Pixel Brush, Live Brush and Vector Brush

There are three at all.

In Pixel Brush, you can access to other brushes.

These brushes are same as other App brushes like Procreate's.

It is made by Pixel.

There are many and it is fun to use.

For instance, Action line. You can usually see these radial lines in comic book.

You can easily draw them.

I don't draw comic, but I can draw sea urchin like this.

Cute?

And this is Script Brush.

Someone wants to draw a cozy handwriting. It is for you.

Special effects tab is also interesting.

Here are Splash and Bleeding. They are realistic effects.

Just touching them, you can express real effects.

If you want to add more effects on your painting, they will work well.

Next is Live Brush.

Live Brush has Water paint and Oil Paint.

Here is Water paint.

Easy tapping, color water bleeds really good.

Adding other colors on them,

old color and new one are mixed like a real water painting.

It is too realistic to be shown on other apps.

This is Live Brush painting.

Even when you release Apple Pencil, it cannot be stopped bleeding.

If you want to stop it, you can choose Dry a layer button on the right tab.

Tapping it and you can stop bleeding.

Using this button is a point to use Fresco.

Next, Oil painting Brush.

You can paint an realistic oil painting.

This is my favorite function of this App.

You can use Impasto button.

Using this button, The 3-dimentional expression of oil painting are expressed well.

Zooming in, you can see these roughness.

You can paint a real oil painting on iPad.

This is because of Adobe Sensei.

It is Adobe original AI to make it realistic.

So, you can say Live Brush is consited of AI too.

Next is Dropper tool.

When you pick a color, you can use color picker or dropper by holding.

So tap and hold the color, and take your color.

It is a fast way.

Also, Live Brush has Reload Color Button. Let me explain this.

First, I use this brush without Reload.

Painting green and add different color on it.

Then it looks mixed.

When you start painting again after that, you use the mixed color, like this.

It mixes again and again, so the brush color gets dirty.

Now, I gonna use Reload button.

Painting green first, and add blue.

Then they are mixed as they did, but you can reset your brush by release your pencil.

You can use clean again.

Releasing your Pencil, the color returns you picked at first.

If you don't want to mix the color, you should use this function.

But if you want to mix the colors like a real oil painting, you don't have to use Reload.

It is a little difficult to use this, but you gradually understand what it is.

Next, Vector Brush.

Vector Brush can draw a clean and seamless line like this.

It works with Bezier curve, so it doesn`t have jaggy line with zooming in and out.

Keeping smooth line is a Vector Brush work.

When you add color, select the bucket icon and touch the blank space.

You can do it so fast.

But Vector Brush has something to lack of.

It cannot draw a circle, square and so on.

By Procreate, you can draw a clean line by holding,

but Fresco doesn't. I expect to add this function by update.

As a designer, Straight line is necessary to work.

It is OK for a illustrator, but I am waiting for an update.

From here, I gonna paint something practically

by using Live Brush water painting.

I gonna paint abstract one and used for iPad wallpaper.

First, pick a light blue and tap the Brush Setting on the right corner.

You can edit an amount of water.

Increase water to Max, and Paint by touching like this.

Then switch to dark blue.

Even in this time, paint it by touching on light one, or just tapping.

Then it gets more realistic.

Next, add a new layer by tapping Plus button.

To go through a darker blue line on the center,

Pick a darker one and paint it by sam brush.

Now, Layers are divided by light and dark.

I gonna group together.

When you group, select Joint below layer.

Then they are grouped. Take a water paint brush again

and make blurring the border between light and dark.

When you blurring, add more water

and tap the border like this.

You see? the color is bleeding and mixed.

Let's make it overall.

If the color bleeds too much, you can edit the amount.

Tapping and make it realistic.

Then, water painting is done.

Add a new layer and paint by oil painting brush.

Select Impasto and paint on it.

I gonna add gold leaf expression, so I took yellow.

Or yellow white.

Decrease the brush size and paint by tapping like this.

Like painting gold grains.

By painting like this, Impasto roughness works to express 3D.

This is how gold leaf shade is made.

Next, I gonna take dark yellow and add shadows.

On the same process, I gonna pick white and paint highlights.

Just tapping like this.

It is almost done. And I have a small tips for you.

Also, the mixture of oil and water is really interesting.

I am painting water on oil painting.

By doing this, it looks like oil melting .

It is interesting and thinking about how do I use this.

Using these character, your painting gets much original.

So, try your original way by Fresco.

As a finishing, let's fix its brightness

by duplicating the blue layer.

Then, let's see Layer Property panel here.

You can edit drawing mode from here.

For instance,you can edit like Transpiration or Color Burn.

Using this settings, you can arrange its contrast drastically.

I gonna use Color Burn this time,

and decrease its opacity.

Then coloring is looking better. Keep fixing it.

OK, it is done.

When you export, tap the Export button on the left corner.

And you can choose the types.

JPG, PNG and PSD.

When you want to send it to PC, you can send each layers.

I export by JPG this time.

Open your camera roll and use it as wallpaper.

Tap Export and select Set it as Wallpaper.

Then you can choose Lock or Home display.

I select Lock display and looks like this.

Abstract expression is good with Lock display.
