Dear Elder Cziesla,
-
Dear Sister McKinnon,
-
You are hereby called to
serve as a missionary
-
of the church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints.
-
You are assigned to labour in the
Greece Athens Mission.
-
You are assigned to labour in the
England Manchester Mission.
-
You should report to the
England Missionary Training Centre.
-
When I arrived at the England
Missionary Training Centre
-
I didn't really know what to expect.
-
I was assigned a companion to help
me learn Greek and teach the lessons.
-
The amazing thing is we're all here for the
same reason, because we love the Lord.
-
We have been called to serve
in Great Britain, Greece
-
or the German speaking
countries of Europe.
-
Those of us that are fluent in the
languages that we will be speaking
-
will stay here for three weeks.
-
While those that are learning German
will be here for six weeks,
-
and those learning Greek will
be here for nine weeks.
-
We get up at six thirty, as we
would in the mission field
-
and we get ready for the day.
-
In class we're taught fundamentals
to be able to teach the people.
-
All of our teachers are
returned missionaries,
-
most of them actually
came to this MTC here.
-
They've been there and they just want
us to be better than them.
-
Our teachers have also gone through
these experiences, so it's nice to learn
-
from their personal experiences.
-
Every class and every activity that
we have here in the MTC,
-
has the purpose to help us
prepare teach investigators.
-
There are so many blessings that we can
receive just from being here at the MTC.
-
For example we get to go to the Temple
on preparation day and it really helps us
-
put everything into perspective.
-
We're not just fed spiritually
but also physically.
-
The MTC kitchen staff really does everything
to bring us a great variety in meals.
-
Each day we get about an hour of exercise.
-
While were here at the MTC we're able to be
a part of devotionals, workshops
-
and service projects.
-
Also we frequently get to participate in firesides
with the General Authorities of the Church.
-
I also feel so blessed to have
a personal relationship
-
and friendship with the
MTC president and his wife.
-
One of the highlights is when we
go out to Manchester proselyting.
-
The very first time I talked to someone
I was very very nervous
-
but it was a really cool experience.
-
It was a really fun two hours,
really rewarding.
-
I felt the spirit so much and I felt
that I was able to apply all
-
of the things that I had been
learning in the classroom.
-
It really got me excited to be
out in the field and to do this work.
-
One lesson that I learned in the MTC
is that my missionary preparation
-
started a long time ago.
-
Things that I've learned here I don't
only want to apply when I'm a missionary
-
but also in my every day life.
-
The MTC has taught me that I want to be
a missionary for the rest of my life.
