Porovnejte 156,378 a 156,348.

Předpokládám, že chtějí, abychom zjistili,
které z čísel je větší.

Přepíši si tedy číslo 156,378

a chceme ho porovnat s číslem 156,348.

Pravděpodobně je vám již výsledek jasný,
ale pojďme to i tak projít krok za krokem.

Prvně se podíváme do řádu stovek,

který je zde nejdůležitějším řádem,
protože zde má největší hodnotu.

Číslice 1 v řádu stovek má mnohem větší
hodnotu než 1 v řádu desítek nebo jednotek.

1 na místě stovek říká,
kolik stovek číslo obsahuje.

V obou číslech ale
máme stejný počet stovek.

Máme zde 1 stovku a zde také 1 stovku.

Pojďme se podívat na desítky.
Máme 5 desítek, což je 50.

A zde máme také 50,

takže zatím jsou obě čísla stejná.

Tedy pokud se díváme
jen na počet stovek a desítek.

Pojďme na řád jednotek.
U obou máme 6 v řádu jednotek.

6 jednotek, což je prostě jen 6.

To znamená,
že dosud jsou čísla stále stejná.

Pojďme na řád desetin.
3 desetiny v obou číslech.

Podívejme se na setiny.

Pokračujeme k menším a menším řádům.

Zde máme 7 setin a zde 4 setiny,

což je méně setin než v tomto čísle.

V tisícinách jsou stejné číslice,
ale na nich nezáleží.

I kdyby byly různé, tak na nich nezáleží.
I kdyby zde bylo větší číslo než zde,

protože se čísla liší
ve vyšším řádu - v setinách.

Jelikož je 7 větší než 4,
takže 7 setin je více než 4 setiny.

Znamená to,
že 156,378 je větší než 156,348

A konkrétně je to kvůli
rozdílu na řádu desetin.
