Mata Sahib Kaur Ji | Mothers of the Panth | By Bibi Gurprit Kaur

  • 0:16 - 0:20
Sangat Ji, today I am going to tell you about my mother.
  • 0:20 - 0:22
    Who is also your mother.
  • 0:22 - 0:25
I am going to speak about Mata Sahib Kaur Ji,
  • 0:25 - 0:29
who is the mother, the spiritual mother of Khalsa Panth.
  • 0:29 - 0:32
Mata Sahib Kaur Ji from a very, very young age,
  • 0:32 - 0:36
she has been devoted to Sikhi and to Guru Gobind Singh Ji
  • 0:36 - 0:39
and no one could understand why.
  • 0:39 - 0:43
    From a very young age,
    she could memorise Japji Sahib,
  • 0:43 - 0:45
she started doing a lot of Simran and
  • 0:45 - 0:48
starting memorising countless other teachings as well.
  • 0:48 - 0:52
And she would always speak about
    Guru Gobind Singh Ji,
  • 0:52 - 0:54
and she would always dream about
Guru Gobind Singh Ji as well.
  • 0:54 - 1:02
The time even came, such, where the villagers
in her village started calling her Mata Ji,
  • 1:02 - 1:07
because at a very young age
she portrayed those virtues, those attributes
  • 1:07 - 1:12
that a young woman, that a lady,
    a Mata Ji would have.
  • 1:12 - 1:16
So with respect they started calling
    her Mata Ji as well.
  • 1:16 - 1:19
Now Mata Sahib Deva Ji when
she came of age to get married,
  • 1:19 - 1:23
    she told her parents
I will only get married to Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
  • 1:23 - 1:27
And even her parents say that
for someone like Mata Sahib Deva Ji,
  • 1:27 - 1:31
there is no one else but Guru Gobind Singh Ji
who could get married to her,
  • 1:32 - 1:34
or who is compatible to her as well.
  • 1:34 - 1:38
Because as a woman, her wishes, her desires
are not of the worldly ones,
  • 1:38 - 1:41
    but of the spiritual ones.
  • 1:41 - 1:45
And there is no man here
who could be compatible to her.
  • 1:45 - 1:46
    Only Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
  • 1:46 - 1:50
So her parents went to Guru Gobind Singh Ji
  • 1:50 - 1:53
and did Benti that please take
    my daughter's hand in marriage
  • 1:53 - 1:55
    and get married to her.
  • 1:55 - 1:58
But at that point Guru Gobind Singh Ji
say that I am already married
  • 1:58 - 2:03
and now I have become Brahamchari,
where I have renounced all the physical relationship
  • 2:03 - 2:08
of a household and now I am only
    focused on the panthic matters.
  • 2:08 - 2:10
So I can't get married to your daughter.
  • 2:10 - 2:15
And Mata Sahib Deva Ji parents say that
    she only thinks about You,
  • 2:15 - 2:19
she only looks up to You and
she will not get married to anyone else but You.
  • 2:19 - 2:24
At that point, Mata Sahib Deva Ji stood up and
she does Benti, she says that Sache Paatshaah
  • 2:24 - 2:31
as a wife I will not demand anything from You,
all I want is to be able to do your Seva
  • 2:31 - 2:38
and I can do that if I am in your palace,
if I am near You I can do that Seva of You.
  • 2:38 - 2:42
And Guru Gobind Singh Ji said
that I have a few conditions
  • 2:42 - 2:44
if you want to get married to me.
  • 2:44 - 2:50
My first condition is that we are not
going to be taking part in any physical relationship
  • 2:50 - 2:56
as a husband and wife and with that
we will not bear any children as well.
  • 2:56 - 3:00
And Mata Sahib Deva Ji, Mata Sahib Kaur Ji,
    she said Sat Bachan.
  • 3:00 - 3:04
Because in her mind, all she wanted was
to do Seva of her husband
  • 3:04 - 3:06
was to do Seva of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
  • 3:06 - 3:11
Mata Sundri Ji was also there
present in the palace of Guru Gobind Singh Ji
  • 3:11 - 3:13
and Mata Gujri Ji as well.
  • 3:13 - 3:18
Mata Sahib Deva Ji, she loved Mata Sundri Ji
    just like her own sister.
  • 3:18 - 3:22
Both of them had that sisterly love
    between each other.
  • 3:22 - 3:26
And both of them loved Mata Gujri Ji
    just like their own mother,
  • 3:26 - 3:28
there was no difference between the 3 of them.
  • 3:28 - 3:34
And Mata Sahib Deva Ji, she had so much love
    for the Chaar Sahibzaade,
  • 3:34 - 3:38
it was her responsibility to get them ready
    every morning.
  • 3:38 - 3:44
Mata Sahib Kaur Ji would put small small Kalgia
on the Dastar of the Sahibzaade,
  • 3:44 - 3:46
    especially Baba Fateh Singh Ji.
  • 3:46 - 3:50
And she would be so happy to
    see the Chaar Sahibzaade,
  • 3:50 - 3:55
it was like as if these 4 are her own children,
that's how she loved them and took care of them.
  • 3:55 - 3:59
    These peaceful times were only
    short-lasting.
  • 3:59 - 4:04
And the whole Parvaar they got separated
    in Sirsa River.
  • 4:04 - 4:13
Now, Mata Sahib Kaur Ji's Nem, her routine
was that she would not have her food
  • 4:13 - 4:18
she would not have her breakfast
    her meal of the day
  • 4:18 - 4:21
until she had the Dashan of
    Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
  • 4:21 - 4:27
And this is one condition of Mata Sahib Deva Ji as well
which she put forward to Guru Gobind Singh Ji,
  • 4:27 - 4:31
she said that I know You are busy with
    Your daily routine,
  • 4:31 - 4:37
    of meeting the Khalsa Panth,
of strategising for war against the enemies
  • 4:37 - 4:42
and all that, but this is my humble Benti.
That please come to me daily
  • 4:42 - 4:44
to have your meal so that
    I can have your Darshan.
  • 4:44 - 4:47
And only then I will have my meal.
  • 4:47 - 4:51
Guru Gobind Singh Ji, knowing this Iccha
    of Mata Sahib Kaur Ji,
  • 4:51 - 4:56
Guru Sahib knew how much love
Mata Sahib Kaur Ji had for Them
  • 4:56 - 4:59
and they agreed to this condition.
  • 4:59 - 5:04
And daily Guru Gobind Singh Ji would come
and have meal with Mata Sahib Kaur Ji,
  • 5:04 - 5:08
eat the food that she made and
    gave her Darshan.
  • 5:08 - 5:12
This was not possible when the
    separation of the family happened
  • 5:12 - 5:17
and Mata Sahib Kaur Ji, Mata Sundri Ji and a few
Gursikhs such as Bhai Mani Singh
  • 5:17 - 5:19
    went towards Delhi.
  • 5:19 - 5:22
Now Sangat Ji, this is a point Sangat Ji.
  • 5:22 - 5:29
We can see how the role of the woman
changes from just practising Sikhi in a family
  • 5:29 - 5:36
just like Bebe Nanaki Ji, Mata Khivi Ji then came
forward and started serving her community.
  • 5:36 - 5:43
And then we can see like Bibi Bhani Ji has
now started doing Seva in other communities as well.
  • 5:43 - 5:47
Started going out there to different villages
and started doing Seva and doing Parchaar.
  • 5:47 - 5:53
Now we'll see when the time came to Mata Sahib
Kaur Ji, Mata Sundri Ji they have gone
  • 5:53 - 6:00
completely to a different state and now
they are taking up the role that a man would take.
  • 6:00 - 6:05
Such as the economical aspect, the political aspect
    of Panthic matters.
  • 6:05 - 6:11
Mata Sahib Kaur Ji, Mata Sundri Ji took care of all
these matters for the Khalsa Panth in Delhi.
  • 6:11 - 6:19
Because they knew that war was coming
and normally with war there's always chaos
  • 6:19 - 6:21
    attached to it as well.
  • 6:21 - 6:26
So it was in the hands of Mata Sahib Kaur Ji
and Mata Sundri Ji, both together sisters,
  • 6:26 - 6:32
to ensure that there was peace and Sikhi
Parchaar was still continuing in Delhi as well.
  • 6:32 - 6:35
And the time came when they found out that Guru Gobind Singh Ji
  • 6:35 - 6:43
is in Damdama Sahib and They are writing
    Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj
  • 6:42 - 6:45
and they are doing Santhiya there
    for 9 months.
  • 6:45 - 6:49
Mata Sundri Ji and Mata Sahib Deva Ji,
    they go to Damdama Sahib
  • 6:49 - 6:51
to have Darshan of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
  • 6:51 - 6:54
    They spend time there and
they did darshan of Guru Maharaj,
  • 6:54 - 6:56
they did Seva of Guru Maharaj as well.
  • 6:56 - 7:02
Mata Sahib Kaur Ji, as the mother of the
Khalsa Panth, also served the Khalsa -
  • 7:02 - 7:03
    her children, the Sikhs.
  • 7:03 - 7:07
She would take care of their needs,
    of their daily needs:
  • 7:07 - 7:11
    food, medication, anything else, money.
  • 7:11 - 7:14
Then Guru Gobind Singh Ji decided that They
were going to go to Hazoor Sahib.
  • 7:14 - 7:21
At that point, Mata Sahib Kaur Ji did Benti
that I cannot be separated from You any longer.
  • 7:21 - 7:22
    Please keep me with You.
  • 7:22 - 7:26
Mata Sundri Ji then say, I will go back to Delhi
  • 7:26 - 7:31
and Mata Sahib Kaur Ji stayed on with
Guru Gobind Singh Ji in Hazoor Sahib.
  • 7:31 - 7:36
And at the Asthaan of Mata Sahib Kaur Ji
the Sikhs, the Khalsa Panth would come
  • 7:36 - 7:39
and have langar made by her.
  • 7:39 - 7:43
And they would come to Mata Sahib Kaur Ji
    whenever they needed anything,
  • 7:43 - 7:46
medication, they need help, they need advice,
    they need money
  • 7:46 - 7:50
they would come to Mata Sahib Kaur Ji.
  • 7:50 - 7:51
And Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj,
  • 7:51 - 7:55
They were preparing for the day
where They would leave this world.
  • 7:55 - 8:02
And They knew that Mata Sahib Kaur Ji
had so much love for Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj.
  • 8:08 - 8:12
That Mata Sahib Kaur Ji's life was such
that she would sacrifice her life for Me
  • 8:12 - 8:16
and if, after I'm gone, she would have no purpose.
  • 8:16 - 8:22
Guru Gobind Singh Ji calls Mata Sahib Kaur Ji
and tells her, gives her the Hukam
  • 8:22 - 8:27
that she is to go back to Delhi
    to help Mata Sundri Ji.
  • 8:27 - 8:29
To serve the Khalsa Panth there.
  • 8:29 - 8:35
And that Guru Gobind Singh Ji does not want
her to be here when He leaves this world.
  • 8:35 - 8:40
And Mata Sahib Kaur Ji, she wouldn't be able to
bear the pain of separation because
  • 8:40 - 8:43
she is so in love with Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
  • 8:43 - 8:46
Just like how Guru Angad Dev Ji was so in love
    with Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
  • 8:46 - 8:51
Guru Nanak Dev Ji also told Guru Angad Dev Ji
    to leave Kartarpur Sahib,
  • 8:51 - 8:56
go to Khadur Sahib, so that They would not have
to see the day when Guru Nanak Dev Ji
  • 8:56 - 8:57
    leaves this world.
  • 8:57 - 9:00
The same was for Mata Sahib Kaur Ji.
  • 9:00 - 9:05
And Mata Sahib Kaur Ji says that
I can't live without having Your darshan.
  • 9:17 - 9:23
And at that point, Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj
gave Mata Sahib Kaur Ji five Shastar
  • 9:23 - 9:30
and told her that have my darshan daily
    by looking at these shastar.
  • 9:30 - 9:33
From these shastar I will give you My darshan
  • 9:33 - 9:34
and then you can have your meal.
  • 9:35 - 9:39
And not only that, but Guru Gobind Singh Ji also
    told Mata Sahib Kaur ji,
  • 9:39 - 9:45
that it is her responsibility to bring up young
Jassa Singh Ahluwalia and to bring him
  • 9:45 - 9:50
along with her to Delhi. Take care of him.
Give him that Vidhiya, that Sikhi Vidhiya
  • 9:50 - 9:53
the Shastar Vidhiya to Jassa Singh Ahluwalia,
  • 9:53 - 9:56
so that when he grows up he can serve
    the Panth.
  • 9:57 - 9:59
And that's exactly what Mata Sahib Kaur Ji did.
  • 9:59 - 10:03
In Delhi, Mata Sahib Kaur Ji
    helped Mata Sundri Ji.
  • 10:03 - 10:10
    They would address panthic issues,
they would give out Hukamnaame to the sangat
  • 10:10 - 10:13
in Punjab, in Delhi and in other states as well.
  • 10:13 - 10:21
They would put Gursikhs to do seva and
they actually made a fortress that was given to them
  • 10:21 - 10:26
into a Dharamsala. In the Dharamsala they
    started doing Langar.
  • 10:25 - 10:29
They started asking the Sikhs in Delhi to give Dasvand.
  • 10:36 - 10:39
And when they found out that
Guru Gobind Singh Ji has left for sachkhand
  • 10:42 - 10:45
and that They have given the Gurgaddi to Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj.
  • 10:45 - 10:53
Now imagine sagat ji, a kingdom without a king
    will become chaotic
  • 10:53 - 10:57
and those people who know about the Gurgaddi of
    Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj
  • 10:57 - 10:59
were in Hazoor Sahib with Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
  • 10:59 - 11:04
When the Hukamaama, when the letter
was sent to the mothers in Delhi,
  • 11:04 - 11:07
that now the Gurgaddi is given to
    Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj,
  • 11:07 - 11:15
Mothers Mata Sahib Kaur Ji and Mata Sundri Ji,
    they took it upon themselves
  • 11:15 - 11:18
to spread, to do this Parchaar that
  • 11:21 - 11:25
    They started doing Paatth of
    Guru Granth Sahib Ji,
  • 11:25 - 11:31
so that Gursikhs, they would not lose hope
that now Guru Sahib is not here anymore.
  • 11:31 - 11:38
Because it was a transition sangat ji
from a physical Guru to Granth Guru,
  • 11:38 - 11:42
it was a transition and it was not perhaps
    an easy one as well.
  • 11:42 - 11:47
So that faith had to be instilled in the Sikhs,
    that now your Guru is
  • 11:47 - 11:48
    Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
  • 11:49 - 11:52
Have faith in Guru Granth Sahib Ji,
    because it is the Bachan
  • 11:52 - 11:53
of Guru Gobind Singh Ji as well.
  • 11:53 - 11:58
In the Rehitnaame as well Guru Gobind Singh Ji
says that if you want to have My darshan
  • 11:58 - 12:00
have darshan of Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
  • 12:00 - 12:03
If you want to speak to Me,
    read Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
  • 12:03 - 12:07
If you want to listen to Me, listen to My voice,
    listen to My words,
  • 12:07 - 12:12
listen to the Hukamnama of Guru Granth Sahib Ji
and that will be Me speaking to you.
  • 12:12 - 12:15
And the mothers did this parchaar in Delhi
  • 12:15 - 12:19
and they also ensured that the Sikhs would
    not lose hope,
  • 12:19 - 12:21
the Sikh will not stop doing seva.
  • 12:21 - 12:25
Mata Sahib Kaur Ji sent out nine Hukamnaame,
    that now we can find.
  • 12:25 - 12:27
    We still have these Hukamnaame.
  • 12:27 - 12:37
Where in each letter, in each Hukamnaama,
Mata Sahib Kaur Ji addressed the Khalsa Panth
  • 12:37 - 12:45
as her Frarsand Puttar, Farsand Puttar here meaning
here beloved children, her brave children,
  • 12:45 - 12:52
her brave sons, her good children, good sons.
  • 12:52 - 12:58
She will address the Khalsa Panth that way
and that in that same Hukamnaame
  • 12:58 - 13:04
every Hukamnaama you can see the same bachan
of Mata Sahib Kaur Ji which is
  • 13:09 - 13:18
that do not forget to do Simran of Vaheguru
and this should be your purpose of life.
  • 13:18 -
To do Simran of Vaheguru, so that your life
    becomes fruitful.
  • Not Synced
    Does not go to waste.
  • Not Synced
The same bachan we can find in
Guru Granth Sahib Ji as well.
  • Not Synced
By Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj,
when they were going to Lahore
  • Not Synced
Bibi Bhani Ji does the same bachan
    to Guru Arjan Dev Ji.
  • Not Synced
    They say
  • Not Synced
That this is an Aseesa a mother would
    give to the child,
  • Not Synced
that do not forget Vaheguru for even an instant.
  • Not Synced
Now sangat ji let me ask you,
Mata Sahib Kaur Ji is our spiritual mother,
  • Not Synced
mother of Khalsa Panth, all of us Sikhniaa
we are also going to be a mother some day,
  • Not Synced
many of us are already a mother.
  • Not Synced
And I ask you what assess do we give to our children?
  • Not Synced
Is the aseesa like Mata Sahib Kaur Ji gave to her
Gursikhs, children, Khalsa Panth - to do Simran?
  • Not Synced
Is the aseesa like how Bibi Bhani Ji gave to
    Guru Arjan Dev Ji?
  • Not Synced
What aseesa do we give to our children?
  • Not Synced
What advice do we give to our children?
  • Not Synced
This is something we need to ponder on.
  • Not Synced
Mata Sahib Kaur Ji, in her Hukamnaame she would
refer to the Khalsa Panth as Farsand Puttar
  • Not Synced
    and she would say
  • Not Synced
That don't forget the Guru and the Guru will
fulfils all your desires and help you in all your affairs.
  • Not Synced
And then the third bachan that Mata Sahib Kaur Ji
    would write in her Hukamnaame
  • Not Synced
is that give your dasvand, put your dasvand
    into the langar.
  • Not Synced
Start doing langar wherever you are,
    do not stop langar.
  • Not Synced
And if some Gursikhs in those village,
    they would write a letter
  • Not Synced
that we do not have a well in our village.
  • Not Synced
Because in order for langar to go on there must
be a permanent source of water.
  • Not Synced
And some villages would not have a well.
  • Not Synced
Then Mata Sahib Kaur Ji would send Gursikhs
from Delhi to build a well in those villages.
  • Not Synced
And then send in a Hukamnaama that a well
    is being built,
  • Not Synced
build a well and start doing langar seva.
  • Not Synced
Collect dasvand and don't ever for one day
    stop langar.
  • Not Synced
Those were the bachan of Mata Sahib Kaur Ji.
  • Not Synced
And even now sangat ji, Sant Gurbachan Singh Ji
in their book also write this
  • Not Synced
when we go for Yatra, when we go to all the
Panj Takht and all the other Gurdware
  • Not Synced
when we Matha Tek money into the collection box,
that money goes for the Gurdwara,
  • Not Synced
but we must all give Bheta into the the langar.
  • Not Synced
So a lot of Gursikhs they would give bheta into the
    collection box for the Gurdwara
  • Not Synced
and they will also give bheta for Karah Prashad
    or for langar.
  • Not Synced
That bheta that goes for langar goes to
    Mata Sahib Kaur Ji
  • Not Synced
And Mata Sahib Kaur Ji give us her blessings
when we give bheta for langar in the Takht.
  • Not Synced
This is the bachan written by Sant Gurbachan Singh Ji
    in their book as well.
  • Not Synced
And Mata Sahib Kaur Ji would send out these
    Hukamnaame with the same bachan
  • Not Synced
and if you read these Hukamnaame, even now,
you can feel so much of love
  • Not Synced
in those letters by Mata Sahib Kaur Ji.
  • Not Synced
And that way they did Sikhi parchaar in Delhi
and they took care of panthic matters
  • Not Synced
economically, politically as well, they sent out Gursikhs
to solve the affairs of Sikhs in other states,
  • Not Synced
    in other villages as well.
  • Not Synced
Mata Sahib Kaur Ji, Mata Sundri ji they brought up
    Jassa Singh Alhuwalia sangat ji,
  • Not Synced
that now we know the history what
Jassa Singh Ahluwalia did for the Khalsa Panth.
  • Not Synced
Won the Lal Qila, fought again the Turks, fought again the Mughals
  • Not Synced
    and became Sultan E Quam.
  • Not Synced
That because of Mata Sahib Kaur Ji Mata Sundri Ji
  • Not Synced
and I want to stress this point Sangat Ji
    what a woman can do.
  • Not Synced
We have that ability in our hands,
we have the power in our hands to build a panth,
  • Not Synced
to bring up children who would grow up to
be Gursikhs, who would grow up to be Bhagats,
  • Not Synced
who would grow up to serve the Panth.
  • Not Synced
We have that ability in our hands,
to bring up our children so that they will serve
  • Not Synced
Guru Gobind Singh Ji, they will serve
    Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
  • Not Synced
They would serve the purpose of Sikhi.
  • Not Synced
We also have the power in our hands
to break a panth as well.
  • Not Synced
As a woman, as a mother, as a wife
    we have that ability.
  • Not Synced
We can see this how Mata Sahib Kaur Ji and
    Mata Sundri Ji
  • Not Synced
their whole life after Guru Gobind Singh Ji
they spent just to ensure Sikhi parchaar
  • Not Synced
was going on, that people will not lose faith in Sikhi,
and they brought up children, they brought up Gursikhs
  • Not Synced
like Jassa Singh Ahluwalia to fight for Khalsa Panth.
  • Not Synced
And even where Banda Singh Bahudar fought to
    seek justice of the Sahibzaade
  • Not Synced
at that point Bahadur Shah, who was the emperor at that time,
  • Not Synced
Bahadur Shah had so much respect for Mata Sahib Kaur Ji and Mata Sundri Ji,
  • Not Synced
he would come daily to have their darshan, to meet
them, even to seek advice from the mothers as well.
  • Not Synced
Whatever money or whatever help needed to build
a dharamsala or anything, Bahadur Shah would help them.
  • Not Synced
And Bahadur Shah would always say if there is
anyway I can help, please tell me Mata Ji.
  • Not Synced
And at that point when Bahadur Shah found out that
Banda Singh Bahadur had approached the Mughals
  • Not Synced
and he came running to Mata Sahib Kaur Ji and Mata Sundri Ji asking what is happening?
  • Not Synced
    I thought everything is fine,
why is Banda Singh Bahadur now fighting?
  • Not Synced
He's trying to kill the mughals.
  • Not Synced
Imagine a man, a mughal emperor asking for
Dilasa from mothers, from both the Mata Jis.
  • Not Synced
And I imagine that our Mata Jis, Mata Sundri Ji
and Mata Sahib Kaur Ji telling,
  • Not Synced
don't worry Bahadur Shah, you're okay.
  • Not Synced
Banda Singh Bahadur is serving based on a
Hukam of Guru Gobind Singh Ji,
  • Not Synced
which is to seek justice for the shaheedi of
    the Sahibzaade.
  • Not Synced
Which is to give punishment to those
    who have become so unjust
  • Not Synced
    who have become so cruel.
  • Not Synced
You're okay, but if you do something wrong
we have no guarantee for you as well.
  • Not Synced
So, as long as you are doing good
    you stay within your dharam
  • Not Synced
then you are fine, you are safe.
  • Not Synced
And Bahadur Shah had the dilasa from both
    Mata Jis
  • Not Synced
and he kept continuing to serve the Mata Jis as well.
  • Not Synced
So sangat ji look at how powerful a woman can be.
  • Not Synced
Never think, that as a woman, we have no
    power in us.
  • Not Synced
In the whole history of this Sikh Panth,
you see how Bebe Nanaki Ji
  • Not Synced
started doing seva, started doing Sikhi
    parchaar from home,
  • Not Synced
and then you can see Mata Khivi Ji
then came out and fought the society,
  • Not Synced
the stigma set by the society. She did not care
about what the world was saying,
  • Not Synced
all she cared about was to follow the hukam of
Guru Angad Dev Ji and Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
  • Not Synced
Then you can see Bibi Bhani Ji doing parchaar
of Sikhi, going village to village,
  • Not Synced
being the head of Manji and doing parchaar of Sikhi.
  • Not Synced
Then you can see Mata Sahib Kaur Ji and Mata Sundri Ji being the forefront of Khalsa Panth.
  • Not Synced
Taking care of the political, economical aspect of Sikhi
    in Delhi.
  • Not Synced
And giving Hukamnaame to Khalsa Panth as well.
  • Not Synced
And then you can see people like Mai Bhago Ji,
    who fought in the battle,
  • Not Synced
who became the personal bodyguard of
    Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
  • Not Synced
Who led one of those bibi who fought with the
Chaali Mukte, who inspired the Singhs as well
  • Not Synced
to fight for Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
  • Not Synced
This is what a woman can do.
  • Not Synced
And never for once think that you have no power
    in your hands.
  • Not Synced
We have the power in our hands to build our panth as well.
  • Not Synced
As a woman, as a mother, as a wife we have that
    choice,
  • Not Synced
what kind of family do I want to build.
  • Not Synced
What kind of children that I want to bring up.
  • Not Synced
We have that choice in our hands.
  • Not Synced
And so I hope that we are inspired by these
    mothers in our Khalsa Panth
  • Not Synced
and we can take some advice, take some examples
    from their life
  • Not Synced
that are practical in our life as well.
  • Not Synced
We can practise, follow the steps of these mothers
    as well.
  • Not Synced
How they have become Sohagan, they have
    made Parmatma happy.
  • Not Synced
They have become so virtuous, the are called Gunvanti,
    that they are called sohagan.
  • Not Synced
How we can become like that as well.
  • Not Synced
I hope that this series of 'Mothers of the Panth' has been an inspiring one,
  • Not Synced
For especially all the Sikh women out there as well.
  • Not Synced
There's so much that we can learn and I urge all the Sikh woman
  • Not Synced
to go and do research, to read about the lives of other
Sikh women as well and be inspired from their Jeevan.
  • Not Synced
So please forgive me for any mistakes I've made.
