Hello, my name is
Markus Beschnidt.

I have a private practice
in Baden-Baden,

Today, I'm going to
talk to you about

micro surgery and
plastisch-periodontal surgery.

For the surgeon, the operation
is the most important thing

When one thinks about
the first step of an operation,

anesthesia is often
not adequately considered.

Today we know that
anesthetics stress the body.

They also constitute a local trauma.

Since 1997 we have made use of
"The Wand" in this practice.

It is an anesthesia system
without a syringe,

which causes the lease anxiety
in the patient,

and which allows us to very accurately
apply low-pressure anesthesia.

A normal syringe has a pressure
of around 40 bar.

With this system you can build up
only half as much pressure.

The tissue is treated gently.

You are able to control the circulation
much more easily.

Especially in the field of
surgical procedures

where the circulation through the tissue
is extremely important,

anesthesia is applied in areas
which are subject to less treatment,

the palatal area is particularly used.

We anesthetize using so called
"Slow-Flow-Technology",

which allows you to gauge the pressure.

The system can be switched on
using a foot pedal.

The controls allows you to

build up greater or lesser pressure

or deliver the anesthetic to the body.

You have the option of aspirating.

The patient barely notices the anesthesia.

For my field it is the best option

for performing gentle micro surgery.

The goal is to anesthetize our patients
such that

when they leave the clinic,
they cannot feel any remaining anesthesia,

or at most only a trace.

As a result, our patients

recover much faster after the operation,

care of the tissue is ensured,

and with this anesthesia system we

also have the option of performing

prosthetic procedures without impairing

other neighbouring structures.
