PLAN WITH ME | March 2021 Bullet Journal Setup

  • 0:00 - 0:03
    (relaxing music)
  • 0:09 - 0:12
    (bell dings)
  • 0:12 - 0:15
    - Thank you to Squarespace
    for sponsoring today's video.
  • 0:15 - 0:16
    All right.
  • 0:16 - 0:17
    We're back.
  • 0:17 - 0:19
    This feels so weird.
  • 0:19 - 0:20
If you missed my break video,
  • 0:20 - 0:22
    then you're probably like,
what do you mean you're back?
  • 0:22 - 0:24
    I didn't even miss you.
  • 0:24 - 0:25
    That's fine.
  • 0:25 - 0:27
If you didn't miss out on
    anything, then hello again,
  • 0:27 - 0:30
but I did take some time off YouTube.
  • 0:30 - 0:31
    I'm back now.
  • 0:31 - 0:32
    It was very refreshing.
  • 0:32 - 0:34
    I definitely needed that time.
  • 0:34 - 0:35
And I did just want to say
  • 0:35 - 0:37
before we get right into everything,
  • 0:37 - 0:41
    thank you guys for always
    supporting me and my decisions.
  • 0:41 - 0:44
    And especially on that video,
it was really nice to see
  • 0:44 - 0:46
    all of the supportive
    heartwarming comments
  • 0:46 - 0:48
    and hearing your guys' stories
  • 0:48 - 0:50
    about taking care of
    yourselves and taking breaks.
  • 0:50 - 0:53
    So if anything, if that
    video encouraged you
  • 0:53 - 0:55
to also take some time for yourself,
  • 0:55 - 0:58
then that's also a plus for my break.
  • 0:58 - 0:59
I'm gonna do my March plan with me
  • 0:59 - 1:00
and my March bullet journal setup,
  • 1:00 - 1:04
    which feels weird because
    literally the last video
  • 1:04 - 1:06
on my channel was the February setup.
  • 1:06 - 1:08
I just re- uploaded the stream that I did,
  • 1:08 - 1:10
    which also was really fun.
  • 1:10 - 1:12
I did like the entire plan
    with me live on Twitch
  • 1:12 - 1:15
and that was like the most
    viewers that I've ever gotten
  • 1:15 - 1:16
    on a Twitch stream before.
  • 1:16 - 1:18
So thank you to everyone who tuned in
  • 1:18 - 1:22
or enjoyed watching the real-time spreads.
  • 1:22 - 1:23
    It was definitely different vibes
  • 1:23 - 1:27
    from like my normal plan
with me videos, but very fun.
  • 1:27 - 1:29
    So maybe in the future,
we can do more of those.
  • 1:29 - 1:31
Let's just get right into it, honestly.
  • 1:31 - 1:32
    Like I've taken three
    weeks off of YouTube,
  • 1:32 - 1:35
    so why delay it anymore?
  • 1:35 - 1:36
    Let's get started.
  • 1:36 - 1:37
    Hi, friends.
  • 1:37 - 1:38
    This is voiceover Amanda.
  • 1:38 - 1:41
Just wanted to quickly pop in and mention
  • 1:41 - 1:44
if you haven't seen in the
news, there has been an increase
  • 1:44 - 1:46
in violence against the Asian community,
  • 1:46 - 1:48
    particularly towards the elders,
  • 1:48 - 1:52
    due to racist rhetoric
    around the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • 1:52 - 1:56
So because of that for a whole
    week, starting February 27th,
  • 1:56 - 2:00
    which is tomorrow a hundred
    percent of the profits
  • 2:00 - 2:02
    from ShopAmandaRachLee Dotted Notebooks
  • 2:02 - 2:06
    will be going towards
    Asian communities in need.
  • 2:06 - 2:08
So if you want to buy a notebook,
  • 2:08 - 2:11
    support the cause, I'm
going to link it down below.
  • 2:11 - 2:13
It also happens to be the
notebook that I'm using right now.
  • 2:13 - 2:14
    Okay, that's all, love you.
  • 2:14 - 2:16
    Back to the regular voiceover.
  • 2:16 - 2:18
    If you've been watching my
    channel for a while now,
  • 2:18 - 2:21
then you know that we have a
    little tradition every March,
  • 2:21 - 2:25
which is to do a green plant-ish theme.
  • 2:25 - 2:28
    So of course, I'm not
    gonna break that tradition.
  • 2:28 - 2:30
    We're five-year strong so far,
  • 2:30 - 2:33
so of course I had to do a plant theme
  • 2:33 - 2:37
    and surprisingly, in
    all of the March themes
  • 2:37 - 2:38
that we've done, I've never done
  • 2:38 - 2:41
    like a full-on houseplant theme.
  • 2:41 - 2:45
And I figured this would be
the perfect month to do that.
  • 2:45 - 2:47
    The inspiration behind
    this theme was actually
  • 2:47 - 2:50
    my real life house plant,
    my little fiddle leaf fig
  • 2:50 - 2:52
that's in the corner next to my coach.
  • 2:52 - 2:55
You guys see it in my videos
all the time, but you know,
  • 2:55 - 2:57
it's kind of a wonder how I've managed to
  • 2:57 - 2:59
keep that plant alive for so long.
  • 2:59 - 3:02
    And me and my friends
like to call him big boy
  • 3:02 - 3:04
because he's grown quite a lot.
  • 3:04 - 3:08
    I'll put a comparison picture
of what my fiddle leaf fig
  • 3:08 - 3:09
started and how it is now.
  • 3:09 - 3:13
So yeah, I kind of got
    inspired by that house plant.
  • 3:13 - 3:16
And also, I found a lot
    of pictures on Pinterest
  • 3:16 - 3:20
    of actual beautiful spaces
    with a lot of plants,
  • 3:20 - 3:21
    almost like a greenhouse,
  • 3:21 - 3:24
    so I wanted to emulate
    that on my cover page
  • 3:24 - 3:27
    and just draw a whole
    lot of plants in pots.
  • 3:27 - 3:30
    It was actually kind of
fun to draw all of these.
  • 3:30 - 3:33
I know it might not seem like
it because I'm drawing a lot
  • 3:33 - 3:36
but these doodles are super easy to do.
  • 3:37 - 3:40
So I didn't really even plan
out the actual leaves too much.
  • 3:40 - 3:41
I mostly just, you know, planned out
  • 3:41 - 3:44
    where I wanted the pots
    to be with my pencil.
  • 3:44 - 3:46
And then with my fine liner afterwards,
  • 3:46 - 3:48
I went in and drew random leaves.
  • 3:48 - 3:50
But if you guys want a tutorial
  • 3:50 - 3:54
on how I draw each type of
plant, I can definitely do that.
  • 3:54 - 3:57
But pretty much what I was doing is just
  • 3:57 - 3:59
looking at pictures of real life plants
  • 3:59 - 4:02
    and trying to doodle them
    really quickly and loosely.
  • 4:02 - 4:05
I wasn't too focused on making it perfect.
  • 4:05 - 4:08
    And then my favorite
    part of this cover page
  • 4:08 - 4:12
    was that I included hanging
    plants from the top.
  • 4:12 - 4:14
So I drew a lot of like hanging vines
  • 4:14 - 4:16
and I drew this shelf at the top
  • 4:16 - 4:18
where I could put smaller potted plants.
  • 4:18 - 4:20
And I think it turned out so cute.
  • 4:20 - 4:23
    I know that there's a lot
    of green leafy doodles
  • 4:23 - 4:26
and themes out there, but I
really tried to make it my own
  • 4:26 - 4:28
by just adding a ton of
    varieties and playing around
  • 4:28 - 4:32
    with the different sizes of
    pots and plant varieties.
  • 4:32 - 4:34
    So when you're doing this,
if you want to recreate it,
  • 4:34 - 4:37
    I encourage you to
    experiment with your doodles,
  • 4:37 - 4:40
    try different plant varieties,
    look up actual pictures
  • 4:40 - 4:44
    of plants and leaves, and
    it's really fun to experiment.
  • 4:44 - 4:46
    And the good thing about
    plants is because, you know
  • 4:46 - 4:50
    they're natural, it's in nature,
    nothing's ever too perfect.
  • 4:50 - 4:53
So, you know, even if you
    quote, unquote, mess up
  • 4:53 - 4:55
it kind of just looks more natural.
  • 4:55 - 4:58
So I hope you guys have fun
    drawing plants this month
  • 4:58 - 5:00
if you're drawing them with me.
  • 5:00 - 5:02
    Another fun thing about
    this theme, I think,
  • 5:02 - 5:05
    is that I actually only
    used one green marker
  • 5:05 - 5:08
for the coloring part of this cover page.
  • 5:08 - 5:10
I wanted to keep it really simple.
  • 5:10 - 5:12
So I used one Tombow Dual Brush Pen
  • 5:12 - 5:15
to roughly fill in the leaves.
  • 5:15 - 5:16
    Really.
  • 5:16 - 5:18
    I promise you guys, if
    you saw the realtime clip
  • 5:18 - 5:21
of me coloring this in, it
    would be like 30 seconds,
  • 5:21 - 5:22
    because I was just scribbling.
  • 5:22 - 5:25
I did not sit in there
and, you know, try to fill
  • 5:25 - 5:28
    in every individual
leaf to make sure it was
  • 5:28 - 5:29
    within the lines.
  • 5:29 - 5:30
    That'd be way too tedious.
  • 5:30 - 5:32
So I just did strokes of color.
  • 5:32 - 5:34
And I kind of liked that look
  • 5:34 - 5:36
with just the single accent color.
  • 5:36 - 5:39
    It actually really reminded
me of the very first year
  • 5:39 - 5:42
    that I bullet journaled, 2017.
  • 5:42 - 5:45
A lot of my themes from
    then were also similar vibes
  • 5:45 - 5:48
    where there's just one
    accent color, really loosely,
  • 5:48 - 5:51
you know, colored in and just, you know,
  • 5:51 - 5:53
with some fun doodles all around.
  • 5:53 - 5:55
In order to add a bit more dimension
  • 5:55 - 5:58
    to that single green
    color marker that I used,
  • 5:58 - 6:01
a few times I would actually
layer the green quite a lot
  • 6:01 - 6:03
to make it look a bit darker,
  • 6:03 - 6:05
but it was just that one marker.
  • 6:05 - 6:08
    So you'll see that sometimes
I go over like the center
  • 6:08 - 6:10
of the leaves with some added strokes
  • 6:10 - 6:12
and it just gives you that dark green
  • 6:12 - 6:14
    to light green gradient
  • 6:14 - 6:17
    without using multiple green markers.
  • 6:17 - 6:20
So I just went in, colored
    the rest of those leaves.
  • 6:20 - 6:23
    And actually I just realized,
I lied to you guys earlier.
  • 6:24 - 6:26
    I did not technically use
    just the one green marker.
  • 6:26 - 6:28
    I realized I went in
    with like a light gray
  • 6:28 - 6:30
    for some you know, shadows,
  • 6:30 - 6:31
but honestly it didn't really add much,
  • 6:31 - 6:33
so you could probably go without this.
  • 6:33 - 6:34
On the other side of the spread
  • 6:34 - 6:37
is where I'm drawing my monthly overview,
  • 6:37 - 6:39
    so I have a calendar.
  • 6:39 - 6:40
    I've been shying away recently
  • 6:40 - 6:43
    from doing a full two
    page calendar spread,
  • 6:43 - 6:45
    just because, you know, I
    was on break last month.
  • 6:45 - 6:47
    I'm still kind of easing
    into things a bit.
  • 6:47 - 6:50
    So I figured this size
    calendar would be perfect.
  • 6:50 - 6:54
    And then just underneath
    I'm writing out any events,
  • 6:54 - 6:56
    meetings, to-do lists
things that I need to do
  • 6:56 - 6:57
    for the month.
  • 6:57 - 7:00
And since this theme really reminded me
  • 7:00 - 7:02
of my old school bullet journal,
  • 7:02 - 7:05
like my bullet journal from 2017,
  • 7:05 - 7:08
    I decided to bring back
    the drop shadows, guys.
  • 7:08 - 7:10
    You guys know, if you
watch any of my old videos,
  • 7:10 - 7:13
I was a big drop shadow guy.
  • 7:13 - 7:15
    So I thought I'd bring
    those back because you know,
  • 7:15 - 7:17
    we love a good drop
    shadow in this household.
  • 7:17 - 7:19
Other than that, I kept it pretty simple.
  • 7:19 - 7:22
I just wrote out this month
    underneath the calendar
  • 7:22 - 7:23
which is where I'll list everything,
  • 7:23 - 7:26
and then drew a few potted plants up top,
  • 7:26 - 7:29
like the header was a shelf
    and another potted plan
  • 7:29 - 7:31
at at the bottom, just for fun.
  • 7:31 - 7:35
Oh, I also used some washi
tapes in kind of a fun way.
  • 7:35 - 7:40
    So this is the ShopAmandaRachLee
    Dark Neutral set.
  • 7:40 - 7:42
We actually restocked the washi tapes,
  • 7:42 - 7:43
in case you guys were wondering.
  • 7:43 - 7:47
So I'll link those down below
if you guys want to grab a set
  • 7:47 - 7:48
    before they run out again.
  • 7:48 - 7:51
And what I did was I
    actually put the washi tape
  • 7:51 - 7:54
on a few of the pots,
just to a couple of them.
  • 7:54 - 7:56
And then I took my X-ACTO knife
  • 7:56 - 7:58
and lightly scored around the pot.
  • 7:58 - 8:00
    You could kind of see
    the outline underneath,
  • 8:00 - 8:03
so I made sure to follow that.
  • 8:03 - 8:06
And then when you peel back
    all the edges around it,
  • 8:06 - 8:09
    you're left with the
    washi tape that fills in
  • 8:09 - 8:10
the center of the plant pot.
  • 8:10 - 8:13
And I thought it was just a unique fun way
  • 8:13 - 8:15
    to use washi tape.
  • 8:15 - 8:18
It also adds a nice pattern
    and pop to any design.
  • 8:21 - 8:24
Next up, of course we have my trackers,
  • 8:24 - 8:26
    and I'm starting out
    with my habit tracker.
  • 8:26 - 8:29
    So I'm writing a simple
    title with my brush pen.
  • 8:29 - 8:32
By the way, of course this
    is the Tombow Fudenosuke
  • 8:32 - 8:34
    Hard Tip Brush Pen.
  • 8:34 - 8:37
    I use this pretty much
    throughout the entire spread.
  • 8:37 - 8:39
Both for the doodles and for the writing.
  • 8:39 - 8:41
You guys know, I love it.
  • 8:41 - 8:42
    This is my go-to pen.
  • 8:42 - 8:44
    So if you're curious
as to what else I use,
  • 8:44 - 8:45
    I'll link it down below.
  • 8:45 - 8:50
And then I added some hanging
plants next to it at the top
  • 8:50 - 8:53
just for some added little doodles.
  • 8:53 - 8:57
    For the mini calendars, I
    used these calendar stamps
  • 8:57 - 8:58
    that I had.
  • 8:58 - 9:00
A lot of people ask me where
    I got these calendar stamps.
  • 9:00 - 9:01
I got them as a gift,
  • 9:01 - 9:05
but I believe you can find
    them on like Ali express
  • 9:05 - 9:05
    or Amazon.
  • 9:05 - 9:08
    Just search rubber calendar stamps.
  • 9:08 - 9:11
So I just put those on one
    of my acrylic stamping blocks
  • 9:11 - 9:13
    and stamped out the calendars.
  • 9:13 - 9:16
    I kinda messed up in
    there a little slanted
  • 9:16 - 9:20
    because I just refuse to
    plan anything out apparently,
  • 9:20 - 9:21
    but that's okay.
  • 9:21 - 9:23
You know, you just gotta go with it.
  • 9:23 - 9:25
Things happen in your bullet journal
  • 9:25 - 9:27
    and it's for you anyway.
  • 9:27 - 9:30
    So accept your mistakes,
    as Bob Ross would say,
  • 9:30 - 9:33
    there are no mistakes, just
    happy little accidents.
  • 9:33 - 9:35
And I think that's kind of the mindset
  • 9:35 - 9:39
    that I'm going into a
    lot of things nowadays.
  • 9:39 - 9:42
So yeah, I had initially had six calendars
  • 9:42 - 9:45
and then I decided to add a
    couple more at the bottom.
  • 9:45 - 9:49
    I just have these drop
    shadowed, rectangular headers
  • 9:49 - 9:52
up top where I write out what
    habits that I'm tracking.
  • 9:52 - 9:55
    So I'm talking about,
    you know, watering plants
  • 9:55 - 9:58
    taking my vitamins,
    doing my vocal exercises,
  • 9:58 - 10:01
    because recently something
that I've done over my break
  • 10:01 - 10:03
    is start vocal lessons.
  • 10:03 - 10:07
    It's been a fun little
hobby for me to pick up.
  • 10:07 - 10:08
So it's just stuff like that.
  • 10:08 - 10:11
    And then next to it,
    I have my mood tracker
  • 10:11 - 10:15
and for this, because my fiddle leaf fig
  • 10:15 - 10:18
    in real life was the
    inspiration behind this theme,
  • 10:18 - 10:21
    I decided to draw my
    little plant baby again
  • 10:21 - 10:23
and this was the habit tracker.
  • 10:23 - 10:27
    So each leaf represents day
and I'll be coloring it in.
  • 10:27 - 10:29
    According to my mood.
  • 10:29 - 10:32
    I mentioned this I can't
    remember when I mentioned this,
  • 10:32 - 10:34
    but I'm starting to get
    into the habit of drawing
  • 10:34 - 10:37
the darker colors as my happy mood.
  • 10:37 - 10:39
I used to do it the opposite way,
  • 10:39 - 10:42
    where the dark color
    represented, you know,
  • 10:42 - 10:43
    a dark, sad mood.
  • 10:43 - 10:46
    But then someone in my
    comments section pointed out
  • 10:46 - 10:48
that it stands out a lot more
  • 10:48 - 10:51
when you flip through the darker colors.
  • 10:51 - 10:54
So in order for things to stand
out more in a positive way,
  • 10:54 - 10:56
when I flip through my bullet journal
  • 10:56 - 11:00
    I want the darker colors
    to be the happy days.
  • 11:00 - 11:02
    I feel like I didn't
    really explain that well,
  • 11:02 - 11:06
    but hopefully you understand
    what I'm talking about.
  • 11:06 - 11:09
    While we're here talking about
    moods and how you're feeling
  • 11:09 - 11:12
just wanted to check in with
y'all and see how you're doing
  • 11:12 - 11:16
during all of this chaos, the pandemic.
  • 11:16 - 11:18
    I hope you're setting boundaries
  • 11:18 - 11:20
    and making sure you're
    taking care of yourself
  • 11:20 - 11:23
    and doing things for you.
  • 11:23 - 11:24
I feel like while I was on my break,
  • 11:24 - 11:28
I really got to figure out
    how I'm feeling recently
  • 11:28 - 11:31
without it being tied into work.
  • 11:31 - 11:32
So that was definitely a huge plus
  • 11:32 - 11:38
of me taking my break and
    interesting to separate that out
  • 11:39 - 11:43
because a lot of times I
    feel like my feelings and,
  • 11:43 - 11:44
you know, I've mentioned this before.
  • 11:44 - 11:47
A lot of times I equate my value to work
  • 11:47 - 11:49
    and how productive I am
  • 11:49 - 11:51
and I'm really trying to stop doing that.
  • 11:51 - 11:53
    It'll definitely be a
    long-term thing where I need
  • 11:53 - 11:56
to figure out how to untrain
    myself from that thinking.
  • 11:56 - 11:59
    But that's kind of been
    what I've been thinking
  • 11:59 - 12:02
    about recently and
    checking in with myself.
  • 12:02 - 12:06
So I hope you guys are doing
    the same and doing well.
  • 12:06 - 12:07
    All right.
  • 12:07 - 12:10
So moving on to the next page,
    which is my playlist spread.
  • 12:10 - 12:13
I discovered a lot of great
    music during my break,
  • 12:13 - 12:16
    because I kind of had
    nothing better to do,
  • 12:16 - 12:21
besides watch a lot of dramas and movies
  • 12:21 - 12:23
and listen to music on Spotify.
  • 12:23 - 12:25
So I did create a big playlist
  • 12:25 - 12:28
    of all the songs that
    I've been loving recently.
  • 12:28 - 12:29
So if you want to check that out,
  • 12:29 - 12:31
I'll link my Spotify playlist down below.
  • 12:31 - 12:34
    Honestly, it might be one
    of my favorite playlists.
  • 12:34 - 12:37
    I've been shuffling it
    on repeat a lot recently.
  • 12:37 - 12:39
So I'll link that down below
  • 12:39 - 12:41
'cause I didn't include all the songs
  • 12:41 - 12:43
from the Spotify playlist on this spread.
  • 12:43 - 12:45
There was just way too many.
  • 12:45 - 12:49
I just kind of included some
of my top faves on this spread.
  • 12:49 - 12:50
And I thought it was really cute.
  • 12:50 - 12:53
    I printed out the album
    covers in little squares
  • 12:53 - 12:57
and then I made it look like
    they're sitting on shelves.
  • 12:57 - 12:59
    And I also made the
    album covers kind of 3D.
  • 12:59 - 13:03
And in between them, I added,
    of course, more potted plants.
  • 13:03 - 13:06
Funnily enough, in my real life bedroom,
  • 13:06 - 13:09
I am going to be putting up
    floating shelves like this
  • 13:09 - 13:12
    so that I can display
    more decorative things
  • 13:12 - 13:15
like plants and actual music albums.
  • 13:15 - 13:18
    So I've already ordered
    the shelves from IKEA,
  • 13:18 - 13:19
and I'm going to be putting them up soon.
  • 13:19 - 13:23
    So hopefully it turns out
    as cute as this spread.
  • 13:23 - 13:25
    Anyway, I'll just list out
    a few honorable mentions
  • 13:25 - 13:27
since I didn't actually write out the name
  • 13:27 - 13:30
    of the artist or the
    album title on the spread.
  • 13:30 - 13:34
So first we have Raveena's new single.
  • 13:34 - 13:34
    I love Raveena.
  • 13:34 - 13:36
    She's one of my favorite
    artists of all time.
  • 13:36 - 13:40
Her music is just very chill
    and magical and dreamy.
  • 13:40 - 13:42
    And it's great.
  • 13:42 - 13:47
    I also discovered this fully
    animated bunny who releases
  • 13:47 - 13:50
    like pop songs and it's
    kind of incredible.
  • 13:50 - 13:52
    APOKI.
  • 13:52 - 13:54
    I also, oh!
  • 13:54 - 13:56
    Recently my friend Stephanie Poetri,
  • 13:56 - 13:58
came out with a song, "IRL"
  • 13:58 - 14:00
    and I'm actually included
    in the music video.
  • 14:00 - 14:03
So that was kind of a
    cool thing that happened.
  • 14:03 - 14:04
    Go check her out.
  • 14:04 - 14:06
    She's very talented and yeah,
    there's just so much great
  • 14:06 - 14:09
    awesome music that I've
    been discovering recently.
  • 14:09 - 14:11
And it makes me very happy.
  • 14:11 - 14:13
    I feel like, especially
    while I'm journaling
  • 14:13 - 14:15
    I love playing this playlist.
  • 14:15 - 14:18
    It's like the perfect
    vibes and you guys know
  • 14:18 - 14:21
I love music so much and
    it just ties so nicely
  • 14:21 - 14:24
into journaling and drawing and self care.
  • 14:24 - 14:25
    So, I just love it.
  • 14:25 - 14:27
    Anyway, moving on.
  • 14:27 - 14:30
    Oh, of course I added
    more of those washi tapes
  • 14:30 - 14:32
with a couple of the potted plants.
  • 14:32 - 14:36
But then next to it, I
    have a very simple spread.
  • 14:37 - 14:40
    If you watched my 2021
    Bullet Journal Set Up video,
  • 14:40 - 14:43
    then you'll know I
    created a package tracker
  • 14:43 - 14:46
for me to track, you know,
    when I purchase something,
  • 14:46 - 14:48
whether the item has come in or not,
  • 14:48 - 14:51
    I've actually filled that up
already, which is I don't know,
  • 14:51 - 14:53
that's kind of embarrassing to say,
  • 14:53 - 14:55
but I filled that one up that was
  • 14:55 - 14:57
at the beginning of my bullet journal.
  • 14:57 - 14:59
So I decided that maybe moving forward
  • 14:59 - 15:03
    I'm gonna do it monthly
    and maybe, you know
  • 15:03 - 15:04
    a shorter little table.
  • 15:04 - 15:06
    I don't know, I'm experimenting with this.
  • 15:06 - 15:07
So that's what I have there.
  • 15:07 - 15:12
I have a little tracker with
the columns that have the name
  • 15:12 - 15:15
of the item that I ordered,
whether it's been sent or not.
  • 15:15 - 15:17
    And then I check off
    when I have received it.
  • 15:17 - 15:18
    And then underneath that,
  • 15:18 - 15:21
I have my monthly shopping list as well.
  • 15:21 - 15:24
    And the individual headers
    say things like, groceries
  • 15:24 - 15:27
    household items, and other.
  • 15:27 - 15:30
Finally we have made it to the
    first weekly spread of March,
  • 15:30 - 15:32
which, by the way is extremely satisfying,
  • 15:32 - 15:36
    because the first week of
    March begins on a Monday
  • 15:36 - 15:38
and you guys know I make my weekly spreads
  • 15:38 - 15:40
    start on a Monday.
  • 15:40 - 15:41
I know some people do Sunday out there.
  • 15:41 - 15:45
    I respect your preference,
    but it ain't me.
  • 15:45 - 15:47
I love a good Monday start to the week.
  • 15:47 - 15:51
And March begins perfectly on a Monday.
  • 15:51 - 15:55
Anyway, so I'm doing this vertical layout.
  • 15:55 - 15:58
    You'll see I'm drawing
    out this horizontal line
  • 15:58 - 16:00
up top that looks like a shelf,
  • 16:00 - 16:02
    adding more of those potted
    plants, but then underneath it
  • 16:02 - 16:05
    is where I'm doing the
    actual weekly spread.
  • 16:05 - 16:09
    And for this, I divided
    the columns out into three.
  • 16:09 - 16:12
I just referenced my grid spacing guide
  • 16:12 - 16:14
at the beginning of my bullet journal.
  • 16:14 - 16:18
    And I think it's eight
    dot spaces, each column,
  • 16:18 - 16:20
    like the width.
  • 16:20 - 16:21
I know a lot of you guys asked me,
  • 16:21 - 16:22
about Docker spacing a little bit,
  • 16:22 - 16:27
    but honestly I just referenced
my grid spacing guide a lot.
  • 16:27 - 16:31
    So yeah, I have this
    green header at the top
  • 16:31 - 16:34
and I just divided it out
    into three, really simple
  • 16:34 - 16:36
    just draw those vertical lines.
  • 16:36 - 16:39
And then for the weekend I split the page
  • 16:39 - 16:41
    up in half that way.
  • 16:42 - 16:44
    You'll see I'm dividing
    out the columns also
  • 16:44 - 16:45
with a line at the top.
  • 16:45 - 16:48
And that's where I place my weekly events
  • 16:48 - 16:51
    like any meetings or things
that I need to do for that day.
  • 16:51 - 16:55
And then underneath it is where
    the actual task list goes.
  • 16:56 - 17:00
    To finish off this weekly
spread, I drew some black circles
  • 17:00 - 17:03
and then used my white gel
    pen to write the numbers
  • 17:03 - 17:05
on top of the black circle.
  • 17:05 - 17:06
Wrote out the days of the week,
  • 17:06 - 17:08
    just in simple capital letters.
  • 17:08 - 17:12
And I filled in some of those plant pots
  • 17:12 - 17:14
with the washi tapes again for an accent.
  • 17:14 - 17:17
    And I also use the
    washi tapes as a divider
  • 17:17 - 17:20
for the weekly events and the tasks.
  • 17:20 - 17:21
And that was pretty much it
  • 17:21 - 17:23
for the first weekly spread of March.
  • 17:23 - 17:25
    I like this spread
because it gives me a lot
  • 17:25 - 17:28
of planning space for the week.
  • 17:29 - 17:32
Before I flip through the entire
    March bullet journal setup,
  • 17:32 - 17:33
I wanted to talk a little bit
  • 17:33 - 17:35
    about today's sponsor Squarespace.

    So little doodles, go check
them out if you need a website.
  • 18:38 - 18:39
    All right.
  • 18:39 - 18:40
So here's the final flip through
  • 18:40 - 18:42
of my March, 2021 bullet journal setup.
  • 18:42 - 18:44
I really like how this one turned out.
  • 18:44 - 18:48
I just feel inspired to fill
    it out and be productive.
  • 18:48 - 18:50
    And the plant doodles
    were just really relaxing
  • 18:50 - 18:52
and fun to draw throughout the month.
  • 18:52 - 18:53
    So that was it.
  • 18:53 - 18:55
Amanda's great return back to YouTube
  • 18:55 - 18:58
    after her three week break.
  • 18:58 - 18:59
It really wasn't that big of a deal.
  • 18:59 - 19:01
I'm sure some of you guys didn't
even notice that I was gone
  • 19:01 - 19:04
but I hope you guys of
    course enjoyed today's video.
  • 19:04 - 19:07
Seeing my March 2021 bullet journal setup.
  • 19:07 - 19:10
As usual I wanted to showcase
    some of your recreations
  • 19:10 - 19:12
    from last month.
  • 19:12 - 19:14
    Even though I didn't post a normal
  • 19:14 - 19:15
    February plan with me video,
  • 19:15 - 19:16
    I did stream it.
  • 19:16 - 19:18
So a lot of you guys still recreated it,
  • 19:18 - 19:20
which was really nice to see.
  • 19:20 - 19:21
    And of course, if you
want to see how the rest
  • 19:21 - 19:24
    of my setup plays out,
    all of the weekly spreads
  • 19:24 - 19:26
come tune in on Twitch every Saturday
  • 19:26 - 19:30
at 11:00 AM Eastern time, I
    create my weekly spreads there.
  • 19:30 - 19:33
Live, realtime and it's very chill.
  • 19:33 - 19:37
    There's low-fi music and coffee
    and good vibes all around.
  • 19:37 - 19:39
I feel like I'm talking really fast.
  • 19:39 - 19:41
    It might be because I
    haven't been on camera
  • 19:41 - 19:44
in a while, but anyway, hope
    you have an awesome day.
  • 19:44 - 19:45
    Keep doodling.
  • 19:45 - 19:47
See you in the next one.
  • 19:47 - 19:47
    Bye guys.
  • 19:49 - 19:51
    (chill music)
