I'll be bringing you this video with audio commentary for the first time.

Some of you might already know this,

but my friend Yui who is also in this video right now has a long-standing brand called PUI,

and I will doing a collaboration with it.

I'm really happy.

This footage is from when I went alone to Osaka last December to check on some things.

It's a record of the day we got together to decide on things

such as the shape and silhouette of the dresses,

and what kind of fabric and lace we should use.

Maybe a vintage-type line would be bit more like that.

With the concept of "For handsome women,"

PUI is a brand that celebrated its 11th anniversary this spring.

The designs are cute, of course, but are also functional,

and even the dresses with delicate designs can be worn casually without much thought.

I've been wearing their clothing regularly even before this collaboration was decided.

I've always felt that the designs incorporate elements of European culture and retro vintage really well,

and that only someone who really loves and is knowledgeable about that could create them.

We're checking the second dress here.

We weren't planning to make this many items at all at first,

but as we were making them, it got more and more fun,

and we had more and more things we wanted to do,

so we ended up adding this mini dress.

It's really adorable, isn't it?

We were saying that when you wear a mini dress as an adult,

there are times when you feel kind of hesistant,

and you can't wear it with confidence because of your body type.

But when I announced that we were making these clothes,

I got so many DMs saying things like, "I've starting dieting so they'll look cute on me."

And... How do I put it?

I think the idea that clothes help you become the person you want to be is really cute, but...

I think everyone understands this without me having to put it into words,

but I really feel that each person already has something that's cute about them.

I want everyone to treasure the feeling that just as you are,

you already have so many wonderful qualities.

I just really hope that everyone stays healthy,

loves who they are,

and wears what they like just as they are.

Yeah, that's true.

Yui lives in Osaka while I live in Tokyo,

so we communicated on LINE pretty much every day and worked remotely.

When we actually had to meet,

we'd narrow down the days. focus, and work hard.

Well, even if I change the background music,

I can't hide the fact that the footage looks all the same.

We really were just locked away in a meeting room or atelier,

endlessly doing this kind of work.

That's what our production days were like.

If RINA works hard, I'll go all out.

RINA will work hard, either way.

She'll really do her best, though.

Here, I'm telling Yui too many ideas

and that I want to make a lot of things,

and she's telling me to sell them as best I can.

There are too many ideas.

It'd be worse to not have any ideas.

We were just doing one dress at first.

Yeah, we were only doing one.

But then we wanted to make this one too.

If we keep thinking, more ideas will come out.

That's unusual for me.

The new year has begun.

Since we take long breaks for New Year's every year,

during that time I went overseas to take photos of our clothing.

We've arrived.

We went to Guam.

We chose Guam because it seemed a little more realistic in terms of time and cost.

In Guam, we looked for locations that had a bit of a European vibe

or places that would suit the clothes.

We researched them online beforehand.

Then we rented a car locally and I drove overseas for the first time.

It was a lot of fun.

My heart was racing.

This was also a really nice experience.

When we eat, Yui always asks for my thoughts on the food.

The reason why we decided to something together in the first place

was because of the 10-day trip we went on together to Europe,

which is what my previous YouTube video is about.

During that time, I wrote a column every night about what I felt that day.

Since I felt that this really showed my private life, and not just as a musician,

I released this work under my own name.

The zine I'm reading now is a compilation of that.

I titled it "Himitsu Nikki" (Secret Diary).

We've arrived in St. Tropez.

It's my first time here.

Since Yui and I both like making things,

it felt like a place where we could each express our own creativity.

I'm kind of feeling jet lagged.

This is the town Brigitte Bardot lived in.

I traveled to Europe and turned that experience into a zine,

and I feel like that whole time became a moment for me

to remember all the things I've always loved.

It's a small port town.

Since PUI is a brand aimed at women,

I was a little concerned about this collaboration

because many of the people who support me are men,

and I didn't want to make things that would push those people away.

I was also worried about how much of a reaction I'd get from women.

And above all, since this is Yui's brand that she's presided over by herself for over 10 years,

I was worried that I wouldn't be able to achieve good results.

I was also concerned about the reactions of our audience,

both my fans and PUI's customers.

But as I talked a lot with Yui,

I was really happy that she was interested in me.

As we talked, I started to feel that this was an opportunity

to try something new that we could only do now.

When we announced this collaboration,

the reactions from my fans were all so positive.

It made me happy and relieved.

It made me feel that everyone was already thinking far beyond the concerns I had.

I've arrived in Osaka.

My little sister picked me up.

First, we're going to eat lunch.

I've been living on soba every day.

We'll be holding a pop-up store called "THE SUNDAY ROMANTIC"

where you can enjoy the items we've been carefully crafting over the past few months.

It'll be held at the atelier run by Yui.

It's where this clip right now is being filmed.

This atelier is in Osaka, which is also the city where I was born.

I thought it'd be nice to hold it exclusively in Osaka, the city where I was born,

in line with the feelings I experienced during the trip

and the sense of returning to the things I have always loved while creating the zine.

Yui helps me fix up my hair in various countries.

It'll be held May 17-19, from 12 pm to 8 pm JST.

I'll be there all day on all three days,

so let's have a great time together!

It's great for traveling by plane.

The hoodie is on the looser side and has an original shape.

I still clearly remember how moved I was

by the beauty of this space when I first visited this atelier,

and how excited I was to experience the feeling of traveling in Osaka,

a place I was so familiar with.

We've prepared a wonderful space so that we can bring

that kind of excitement to those who come to the pop-up.
