Jonathan Cahn's warning on Capitol Hill at the Washington Man of Prayer event
-
0:05 - 0:09It is April 29th, 2015.
-
0:10 - 0:12226 years ago this day
-
0:13 - 0:15George Washington readied himself
-
0:15 - 0:17for the first-ever presidential inauguration,
-
0:17 - 0:19to take place the following day
-
0:19 - 0:21—the day America as we know it
-
0:21 - 0:23came into existance, with the President's hand
-
0:24 - 0:25resting on the word of God.
-
0:25 - 0:29That day would conclude with America's first government
-
0:29 - 0:30gathering in prayer
-
0:30 - 0:32to dedicate the nation's future to God.
-
0:33 - 0:35A century and a half earlier, another seminal event
-
0:36 - 0:37took place on the same day.
-
0:37 - 0:41On April 29th, 1607, the voyagers on the Susan Constant,
-
0:41 - 0:45the Discovery and the Godspeed gathered together in prayer
-
0:45 - 0:47at Cape Henry to set a wooden cross
-
0:47 - 0:48in the sands of Virginia Beach,
-
0:48 - 0:50and to dedicate the new civilization
-
0:50 - 0:53to the will and the purposes of God.
-
0:53 - 0:56America's biblical foundation would be affirmed
-
0:56 - 0:57and reaffirmed over and over again
-
0:57 - 1:00by its forefathers, from the Pilgrims of the Mayflower,
-
1:00 - 1:02to the Puritans of Massachusetts Bay,
-
1:02 - 1:04to the leaders of the first American colonies
-
1:04 - 1:06who declared publicly and in writing
-
1:06 - 1:08that the new Commonwealth
-
1:08 - 1:09had come into existance
-
1:09 - 1:12solely for the glory and purposes of God.
-
1:12 - 1:13No historian can rewrite that.
-
1:13 - 1:15No president can expunge that.
-
1:15 - 1:19And if a thousand angels swore on a thousand Bibles that this was not the case,
-
1:19 - 1:23it would in no way alter the fact that this American civilization
-
1:23 - 1:26was conceived, established, dedicated
-
1:26 - 1:28and founded on a biblical cornerstone
-
1:28 - 1:30—America was brought into existance
-
1:30 - 1:32for the will and the purpose of God.
-
1:32 - 1:35On this night, over 200 years ago,
-
1:35 - 1:39George Washington held in his hand, the first ever presidential address.
-
1:39 - 1:41In that address was a prophetic warning.
-
1:41 - 1:44It was this: "The propitious smiles of Heaven
-
1:44 - 1:47can never be expected on a nation that
-
1:47 - 1:49disregards the eternal rules of Order and Right
-
1:49 - 1:52which Heaven itself hath ordained."
-
1:52 - 1:52In other words,
-
1:52 - 1:55if America should ever turn away
-
1:55 - 1:56from God and His ways,
-
1:56 - 1:58if it should ever disregard
-
1:58 - 2:00His eternal rules of Order and Right,
-
2:00 - 2:02then His blessings, the smiles of Heaven,
-
2:02 - 2:04would be removed from the land.
-
2:04 - 2:07It was an ancient warning. It had been given in Hebrew words
-
2:07 - 2:09by the prophets to the kingdom of Israel.
-
2:09 - 2:10But Israel turned away from God
-
2:10 - 2:13and disregarded His eternal rules of Order and Right.
-
2:13 - 2:15They drove God out of their government,
-
2:15 - 2:16out of their public squares,
-
2:16 - 2:17out of their culture,
-
2:17 - 2:19out of the lives of their children;
-
2:19 - 2:21they worshipped idols and served other gods.
-
2:21 - 2:24They celebrated immorality and they persecuted the righteous.
-
2:24 - 2:27They lifted up their children on the altars of foreign gods.
-
2:27 - 2:30And the blessings of God were removed from the land
-
2:30 - 2:32and replaced with judment.
-
2:32 - 2:34It is two and a half thousand years later,
-
2:34 - 2:36and America has made the same mistake.
-
2:36 - 2:38We too have turned away from God.
-
2:38 - 2:41We too have have driven Him out of the government,
-
2:41 - 2:43out of our public square, out of our culture
-
2:43 - 2:44out of the lives of our children.
-
2:44 - 2:48We too have profane the sacred and sanctify the profane.
-
2:48 - 2:51And we too have killed our most innocent,
-
2:51 - 2:54—over 55 million of our unborn children—
-
2:54 - 2:56and our collective hands are covered with blood.
-
2:56 - 2:59What we were warned never to do, we now have done.
-
2:59 - 3:01And now we gather in the city named after the one
-
3:01 - 3:03who gave us that prophetic warning.
-
3:03 - 3:05And yesterday, in this city,
-
3:05 - 3:07in the building that sits across from this hill,
-
3:07 - 3:11the justices of the Supreme Court took up their places on the bench to decide
-
3:11 - 3:13whether America should strike down the
-
3:13 - 3:16biblical and historical definition of marriage.
-
3:16 - 3:19The very fact that that event should take place as such
-
3:19 - 3:21is a sign in itself,
-
3:21 - 3:24that this is the America of Washington's warning.
-
3:24 - 3:27It's here, and this day of which he warned is now.
-
3:27 - 3:31We have become a civilization in spiritual schizophrenia,
-
3:31 - 3:34a nation at war against its own foundation.
-
3:34 - 3:36The Supreme Court opens its sessions with the words:
-
3:36 - 3:40"God save the United States and this Honorable Court."
-
3:40 - 3:42But if then—if this honorable court should overrule
-
3:42 - 3:45the word of God and strike down the eternal rules
-
3:45 - 3:47of Order and Right that Heaven itself hath ordained,
-
3:47 - 3:49how then will God save it?
-
3:49 - 3:52Supreme Court Justices, can you judge the ways of God?
-
3:52 - 3:56Can you with man-made verdicts, overrule the eternal laws of God?
-
3:56 - 3:58There is another court, and there is another Judge.
-
3:58 - 4:02And before Him, all men and all judges will give account.
-
4:02 - 4:05If a nation's high court should pass judgment on the Almighty,
-
4:05 - 4:09should you then be surprised if the Almighty should pass judgment on that court and that nation?
-
4:09 - 4:11In the Book of Jeremiah, it is written:
-
4:11 - 4:14"Has a nation ever exchanged its gods? Yet my people
-
4:14 - 4:17have exchanged their glory for that which cannot help them."
-
4:17 - 4:20Let us not pretend as to what we are now doing.
-
4:20 - 4:23We are doing that which Israel did on the altars of Baal.
-
4:23 - 4:25We are exchanging our God for idols,
-
4:25 - 4:27our light for darkness, and our glory
-
4:27 - 4:29for that which cannot save us.
-
4:29 - 4:33Are we ready to risk that which comes on the other side of that exchange,
-
4:33 - 4:37the day when the blessings of Heaven are removed from the land?
-
4:37 - 4:40We began with a word from the President of our first nation's
-
4:40 - 4:42—or the day that he began as President.
-
4:42 - 4:46I now speak a word to the President of our nation's most recent days.
-
4:46 - 4:48Each time I have spoken here, I have asked a question.
-
4:48 - 4:50I'll now answer it.
-
4:50 - 4:52Mr. President, with all respect that is due,
-
4:52 - 4:55what happens if one assumes the presidency
-
4:55 - 4:58by placing his left hand on the Word of God, and then,
-
4:58 - 5:00with his right hand enacts laws that war against
-
5:00 - 5:03the very same Word of God on which he laid his hand?
-
5:03 - 5:06Such an act invokes the judgment of the Almighty.
-
5:06 - 5:09To swear an Oath on the Word of God, in which it's written:
-
5:09 - 5:11"Defend the weak" and "Do not murder"
-
5:11 - 5:12and then, to not defend the weak,
-
5:12 - 5:14to not protect the unborn,
-
5:14 - 5:16but instead to advance their murder,
-
5:16 - 5:18is to invoke the judgement of the Almighty.
-
5:18 - 5:21To swear an Oath on the Word of God, in which it's written:
-
5:21 - 5:23"Do not cause your brother to stumble"
-
5:23 - 5:25and then, to seek to force those
-
5:25 - 5:26who uphold the Word of God,
-
5:26 - 5:27to transgress the Word of God,
-
5:27 - 5:29by partaking in the killing of the unborn
-
5:29 - 5:30and the celebration of sin,
-
5:30 - 5:33is to invoke the judgement of the Almighty.
-
5:33 - 5:35And to swear an Oath in the Word of God, in which it's written:
-
5:35 - 5:39"Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people",
-
5:39 - 5:41and then to take part in the leading of a nation away from
-
5:41 - 5:44"the eternal rules of Order and Right that Heaven itself hath ordained" ,
-
5:44 - 5:47and against the very Word of God on which you laid your hand,
-
5:47 - 5:50is to invoke the judgement of the Almighty.
-
5:50 - 5:52When the leaders of ancient Israel turned away from God,
-
5:52 - 5:55when they abolished His precepts, and broke His covenant,
-
5:55 - 5:57they did so in the shadow of Moses,
-
5:57 - 6:00whose voice cried out to them in warning.
-
6:00 - 6:00Mr. President,
-
6:00 - 6:03when you address the nation from this house, look up.
-
6:03 - 6:06Look up above the Senators and Representatives,
-
6:06 - 6:07above the Supreme Court Justices, and above
-
6:07 - 6:10the invited guests, and you will see a face
-
6:10 - 6:13—the only full visage in that wall— looking back at you.
-
6:13 - 6:15It is the face of Moses.
-
6:15 - 6:17And if that face could speak, it would say this:
-
6:17 - 6:19"No man can overrule the laws of God,
-
6:19 - 6:22no order can annul the order of God,
-
6:22 - 6:25and no judgment of man can stand against the judgments of God.
-
6:25 - 6:28Invoke not His judgment, but choose life.
-
6:28 - 6:29Lead in the way of repentance.
-
6:29 - 6:33Invoke the grace of God, that He might have mercy on this land."
-
6:33 - 6:35We've come to a most critical moment.
-
6:35 - 6:41As Elijah stood on top of Mount Carmel and cried out to Israel in its hour decision,
-
6:41 - 6:45in between two altars and two gods, his voice now cries out to America and says:
-
6:45 - 6:48"Choose you this day whom you will serve."
-
6:48 - 6:53Seventy years ago, the Chaplain of the United States Senate cried out with the same voice,
-
6:53 - 6:57and said to this nation, "If the Lord be God, then follow Him!
-
6:57 - 7:00But if Baal, then follow him and go to hell!"
-
7:00 - 7:02Tonight, America stands at the crossroads.
-
7:02 - 7:06And as Elijah came to the summit of Mount Carmel to make a declaration,
-
7:06 - 7:10we've come this night to Capitol Hill to declare that our god is not Baal.
-
7:10 - 7:12Our god is not Molech.
-
7:12 - 7:13Our god is not government.
-
7:13 - 7:14Our god is not money.
-
7:14 - 7:16Our god is not power; not pleasure.
-
7:16 - 7:20Our god is not political correctness or any other man-made thing.
-
7:20 - 7:22We've come to this hill to declare that
-
7:22 - 7:26there is only one God, and He is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
-
7:26 - 7:29He is the God of Israel and of all nations.
-
7:29 - 7:33He alone is the Rock upon which this nation has come into existence.
-
7:33 - 7:35And from this high place we make this declaration:
-
7:35 - 7:38"We will not bow down our knees to Baal.
-
7:38 - 7:40We will not bow down our knees to political correctness.
-
7:40 - 7:46We will not bow down our knees to a morality that is as shifting as sand in the wind.
-
7:46 - 7:50We will not bow down our knees to the laws and precepts of rebellion
-
7:50 - 7:53or the sacred cows of moral apostasy.
-
7:53 - 7:56We will not bow down our knees to the idols of man.
-
7:56 - 7:59We will not bow down to Baal.
-
7:59 - 8:03We will bow down our knees only to the Lord our God, come what may,
-
8:03 - 8:05and we will have no other gods before Him."
-
8:05 - 8:07For some trust in chariots,
-
8:07 - 8:08some trust in princes,
-
8:08 - 8:10some trust in Supreme Courts,
-
8:10 - 8:11some trust in White Houses,
-
8:11 - 8:13some trust in governments,
-
8:13 - 8:14some trust in Wall Streets,
-
8:14 - 8:15some trust in powers,
-
8:15 - 8:16and some trust in idols.
-
8:16 - 8:19But we will trust in the name of the Lord our God,
-
8:19 - 8:21the name above all names,
-
8:21 - 8:23above all kings, above all powers.
-
8:23 - 8:27We will trust in the only name given by which we can be saved.
-
8:27 - 8:31We will trust in the name of Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus the Messiah,
-
8:31 - 8:33the King of all kings, the Lord of all lords,
-
8:33 - 8:36the Judge of all judges, the Light of the World,
-
8:36 - 8:40the Glory of Israel, the Foundation Stone upon which this nation came into existence,
-
8:40 - 8:44and the only answer, the only chance, and the only hope that America has,
-
8:44 - 8:49that it might once again shine with the light of the fire of the presence of the glory of the Living God,
-
8:49 - 8:51and not go to hell, so help us, God.
-
8:51 - 8:52Thank you.
