Peace be upon you. In recent days, events have been speeding up
-
and the regime has suffered some consecutive defeats
-
but they are still divorced from reality, living a fantasy
-
imagining they can turn back the wheel of time
-
still not understanding that people can say "No" to them
-
I mean, they are still bewildered
-
Everyone who knows anything in politics knows this regime is finished
-
If you bet on them, for your own interest, you're going to loose
-
by every measure
-
Even the international powers, that study their interests at each step, have abandoned them
-
It has become shameful to have a relationship with this regime
-
What I still can't understand is those people who are still defending the regime
-
The problem is, these people are free to think, they live outside Libya
-
and they try to find excuses, they lie and say this is a "crusader war" or whatever
-
What "crusader war"? He was about to burn Benghazi.
-
Then, when countries came and stopped this, you tell me "it's a crusader war"?
-
OK, so what is it he is doing? What do you call it?
-
There is no power or strength but in God.
-
To be honest I can't comprehend this, I can't understand those who are saying this.
-
It is bewildering.
-
Just quickly, I want to ask a question to all Libyans listening.
-
Who doesn't have a relative, or friend who was murdered in what is called April 7?
-
From '76 up to the mid-80's in the universities
-
Hangings in universities. Who? Who doesn't have a friend or relative who dissappeared at that time?
-
Who doesn't have a friend or relative who was killed in Chad? A pointless war, where in the end he said
-
"Here's Ozu, take it," and nothing happened.
-
Who of us doesn't know someone killed in Uganda, or disappeared in Uganda?
-
Or who was wounded and so was thrown into the sea?
-
Who among us doesn't have relatives who were injected with aids?
-
And those responsible were sentenced first to death then to life imprisonment, then released.
-
It's a farce.
-
The incident of the stadium. Youth who were cheering on a team, and as they were cheering
-
they were shot at with live ammunition.
-
And when you go to take the body of your son
-
you have to sign to say he was a criminal.
-
In 1984, in May, I remember this. They broadcast the executions and hangings at Iftar time
-
You go to break your fast, and they're showing people - martyrs Godwilling - on the gallows
-
and the humiliation of them, and worse than that
-
that the hangings and executions took place in their areas
-
where they were born, in front of their families and their children
-
the destruction of homes, each village in Libya has homes unjustly destroyed
-
the stealing of people's money and property.
-
Brothers, I can't comprehend. When we are close to getting rid of this tyrant
-
we find there are people still standing by him.
-
No one who has been forced into the compulsory military training
-
who has been tortured and dehumanized
-
as they say, break their pride so no one can think of doing anything
-
The terror at the checkpoints, at the borders, the invasions of homes and the rapes
-
Brothers, we are not in a country. I swear to you we are not in a country.
-
What has happened in Libya happens only in Israel. And Israel doesn't do this to their own people.
-
They do it to those they think they're in conflict with.
-
What I'm saying, and especially to those intellectuals abroad
-
who say they are educated and are still excusing and defending the regime.
-
Yesterday one of them sent me an email, saying this is a crusader war.
-
Crusader war? When he was going to burn Benghazi, why didn't you speak then?
-
Crusader war? All your friend has to do is step down. Go and stop the bloodletting.
-
If he was human, and felt anything, he would go to save the bloodletting.
-
The other thing I still can't understand, you who have people in the army, call them, tell them to stop
-
This is wrong, that young men should be led astray and be isolated, to burn in tanks so he can stay in power
-
The owner of the farm, like Libya is his farm
-
with people in it he doesn't consider people, he considers them rats, not even human.
-
And young men die for him. If even a fly were to die for him I'd say it's too much.
-
So please, keep calling, a thousand times to save even one person.
-
If you save even one, it would be like you've saved all humanity.
-
Let's all cooperate on this.
-
Look, the more the noose tightens around the regime
-
the more violent their response will be
-
and the more dirty tactics they will use
-
now we hear them stirring up tribalism, to light a tribal war
-
and he will do everything you can imagine
-
When you want to understand how they think
-
imagine there's a devil in front of you and imagines what he will be prepared to do
-
Now I expect him to take soldiers in civilian clothes and ask them to go to an area
-
and make it seem like it's a war between two civilian sides, between pro-Gaddafi and anti-Gaddafi
-
make it seem like a tribal war, a civil war, to derail the revolution and move it out of it's target
-
so our efforts abroad should be focused on two things
-
both in liberated areas and areas still not liberated
-
We can't let this chance go. We must carry on raising awareness
-
because in the end he is going. If they reach an agreement, his plane will carry ten or fifteen
-
and the others will stay. The Libyans will stay, and will live together on this earth and he will go.
-
There is no discussion about this. So we don't want any kind of his traps remaining.
-
We need to keep the contacts going so the revolution is not derailed from its goals
-
which are setting up a democratic country, freeing the land totally, a country of insititutions and law
-
and social justice, a Libya for all. Law, that's it.
-
Racial or tribal labelling must end. Our origins should be geographic - from this city or that.
-
We don't have a loyalty other than to this country.
-
We will be victorious and we will be rid of this mentality.
-
In Libya or abroad, we have to work for Libya because we will live in it, and it is our children's future
-
We must think about this and work for this.
-
Don't say I have no role or no part to play.
-
Don't just try and give up. Keep going. Because when we're all working from abroad
-
and keeping the pressure on those who have people in the army
-
we will be victorious and we will make his chances dwindle
-
Because as the ring tightens he will be more...
-
as they say the dancing of the slaughtered
-
So we ask God to protect Libya, and that we can do something to help.
-
We ask God to protect our terrorized children
-
who have been cut off from their education and from everything, and are in constant terror
-
God protect them and terrorize those who terrorized them
-
But victory is near God willing
-
All this doesn't break the people's will
-
Especially when their cause is just in God's eyes, to lift injustice from the people
-
and to create a country of justice and equality
-
God willing we will be victorious and our will can't be broken
-
God willing the Libyan people will bind their wounds and live in peace and unity
