Searching for a Life Partner ~ Mooji

    Searching For a Life Partner
    (with subtitles)
  • 0:09 - 0:14
[Mooji] There are so many letters today.
  • 0:14 - 0:16
    'Blessed Mooji,
  • 0:16 - 0:25
what do you have to say
    to all the single people,
  • 0:25 - 0:31
that are searching for a life partner?'
    [laughter]
  • 0:31 - 0:34
'What do you have to say
    to all the single people,
  • 0:34 - 0:36
that are searching for a life partner?'
  • 0:36 - 0:39
Where are you? Show me your hands!
  • 0:39 - 0:42
    You wrote the letter?
    [laughter]
  • 0:42 - 0:46
Only one dares to put the hand up.
    [laughter]
  • 0:46 - 0:49
'What do you have to say
    to all the single people,
  • 0:49 - 0:54
that are searching for a life partner?'
  • 0:54 - 0:57
    [silence]
  • 1:05 - 1:19
You don't know how lucky you are!
    [laughter]
  • 1:19 - 1:21
I said before, life has given
  • 1:21 - 1:24
such a beautiful opportunity, for the moment.
  • 1:24 - 1:29
    Because if people are single,
they sometimes feel a bit lonely,
  • 1:29 - 1:31
they think, 'It is going to be forever!
  • 1:31 - 1:33
I am going to be single forever!'
  • 1:33 - 1:41
And the mind steps in and goes,
    'Yes, you better move quickly!'
  • 1:41 - 1:45
And the time, when sometimes being single
    can feel really painful,
  • 1:45 - 1:51
is in Satsang, because ego is thinning away.
  • 1:51 - 1:57
It is thinning out, and it is looking
for something to attach itself onto,
  • 1:57 - 2:05
    to buy some more time.
  • 2:05 - 2:13
    I say quite often,
we have some very forced relationships, quickly.
  • 2:13 - 2:15
The ego is trying to hold on.
  • 2:15 - 2:20
Because when a relationship begins like this,
  • 2:20 - 2:24
    Satsang becomes a near-death experience.
  • 2:24 - 2:27
It is like, 'Wow, that was a close miss, man!'
    [laughter]
  • 2:27 - 2:32
    'Thank you for coming along,
to rescue my ego a little bit!'
  • 2:32 - 2:39
But really, I would say to people,
    Use the time well,
  • 2:39 - 2:45
to really have some undisturbed time,
to focus on your own Self.
  • 2:45 - 2:49
    Be secure in yourself.
So that when the time comes,
  • 2:49 - 2:53
when life brings you one who is suited to you,
  • 2:53 - 2:57
this is the gift, in fact.
You don't have to go searching.
  • 2:57 - 3:03
    Someone will come, unexpectedly,
    but you will recognise inside,
  • 3:03 - 3:09
'I am so happy to meet someone like you!'
  • 3:09 - 3:12
You are not searching by your own power!
  • 3:12 - 3:16
You are not going through your checklist,
    to see if they fit.
  • 3:16 - 3:20
    It will bring you someone,
who will be a beautiful surprise for you.
  • 3:20 - 3:27
And then you will bring your fullness into this.
    What a beautiful thing!
  • 3:27 - 3:31
Even in Satsang, some relationships happen here,
  • 3:31 - 3:36
and some people even go on to get married.
  • 3:36 - 3:41
Some of them are here also.
    It is a beautiful thing,
  • 3:41 - 3:47
to be looking together, from the same place,
  • 3:47 - 3:53
    when it comes to something
    as profound as the Truth.
  • 3:53 - 3:57
In the meantime, if something doesn't come along,
    don't be waiting.
  • 3:57 - 4:03
Use your full energies to be steady in the Truth.
  • 4:03 - 4:08
    Don't go into a relationship
    in a disadvantaged position.
  • 4:08 - 4:11
    Don't go desperate!
    Nobody wants anybody desperate!
  • 4:11 - 4:15
    They will only abuse you.
    Nobody wants anybody desperate!
  • 4:15 - 4:18
It is such a turn-off! Don't be desperate!
  • 4:18 - 4:20
    If you are desperate,
  • 4:20 - 4:23
    it means that,
you are misguided by your own thinking.
  • 4:23 - 4:28
Use your single time to throw off desperation,
  • 4:28 - 4:32
and to be anchored in the Truth.
  • 4:32 - 4:35
Then, in the right moment, life brings someone
  • 4:35 - 4:38
who is so suited to you.
And you feel, 'Oh my God!'
  • 4:38 - 4:41
This person doesn't disturb your Satsang.
  • 4:41 - 4:45
    They actually encourage
    and intensify your Satsang.
  • 4:45 - 4:49
    What a fantastic thing!
  • 4:57 - 5:01
    Because you asked,
'What do you have to say
  • 5:01 - 5:06
    to all the single people,
who are searching for a life partner?'
  • 5:06 - 5:09
If you are not yourself really ...
  • 5:09 - 5:14
I'm not saying that you have to be a Buddha
    to have a partner,
  • 5:14 - 5:18
but at least have your priorities
    in the right place.
  • 5:18 - 5:21
    You don't put that,
the most important thing in life,
  • 5:21 - 5:24
    is not to be alone!
How can it be like this?
  • 5:24 - 5:26
    But somehow you understand that,
  • 5:26 - 5:32
this is your dedication to Truth, to yourself,
    your devotion to Truth.
  • 5:32 - 5:38
    Otherwise a life partner
    could become a life sentence.
  • 5:38 - 5:43
    Did I say that? Sorry!
I didn't want to say it like that, but ...
  • 5:47 - 5:54
This person signed 'A. Human Now'.
    Is that someone's name?
  • 5:54 - 6:03
    'A. Human Now.'
'A' is the Christian name, dot, 'Human Now'.
  • 6:03 - 6:08
So what will your wife or your husband be?
  • 6:08 - 6:15
    Mr. and Mrs. 'Human Now'.
    [laughter]
  • 6:15 - 6:20
Next one! [sound of the bell]
    [laughter]
