(On the water edge, The Dodo, on a rock, warms his hands at a fire, and sings with animals dancing around his rock)

(A big wave crashes over the Dodo and the animals)

(Only the Dodo emerges: he sings and dances on.)

(He picks up the fire lest the waves drown it, puts it down and shakes his hands to cool them.)

(The water ebbs and the animals, emerging, sing and dance on with the Dodo.)

(Alice, still in the stormy sea, climbs out of the jam jar.)

(She jumps into the water and goes down in a flurry of bubbles. The animals emerge again from another wave, together with Alice, who is lying prone on the shore.)

(The animals jump on her as they dance on.)
